The follow-up to the X-Ecutioners' revolutionary debut is well worth the five-year wait. It's bigger, badder, and even more technically proficient than its predecessor, weighing in at 20 tracks constructed from scratches, skits, beat juggles, flares and fades, cuts, pitch plays, studio trickery, and live drums and guitar (played by the DJs). MC performances come courtesy of M.O.P, Kool G Rap, Large Professor, and Pharoahe Monch, and there are DJ collabs with Premier, Dan the Automator, the Beat Junkies, and Triple Threat, as well as an unlikely but successful pairing with Mike Shinoda and Mr. Hahn of Linkin Park fame. It's a quality piece of work, with old- and new-school references liberally scattered throughout (check the updates of Marley Marl's "Marley Scratch," Whiz Kid's "Play That Beat Mr. DJ," and Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love"). A must. --Paul Sullivan

X-Ecutioners - Built From Scratch.......2006-04-17
Classic album. These guys ARE nasty on the turntables, one of the best. They put together the most complete and ILL sounding tracks ever. Tracks like "A Journey Into Sound" its f*cken amazing. These guys got mad skills on the turntables and putting together beats, hands down. If you hate on this, you dont know real skill on this sh** cause these guys are the sh**. One of their first albums to be released, and I recommend you go pick this up right now, if you like Turntablism, and Hip Hop. Because some of the joints on here got rapping on them, and most are beats included with some ILL scratching. Get this now.

Very Solid Album, Worth Purchase! 4 STAR!.......2003-10-21
This is one of da MUST HAVE album if you're into DJ Scratchin' stuff! X-Ecutioners is one of the most talent DJ group! Their Scratchin' turntable skills is Grand fo' sho'! Plus they can produce some really Tight Beat!
With some really Nice Guest appearance, like da rap legendary Large Professor, some famous Rap Star like Big Pun, Xzibit, Inspectah Deck from WU TANG, even include two member of Mainstream Rap/Metal group Linkin Park!
Some of my Favorite is:

A Journey Into Sound
X-ecutioners (Theme) Song
Feel The Bass
B-boy Punk Rock 2001
It's Goin' Down featuring Linkin Park
Dramacyde featurin' Big Pun and Kool G Rap

A Really Great album, Worth to Purchase!
Solid Album.......2003-03-04
The album is a solid album. Though the skits can be a little long the album itself is well produced and the guest appearances give the album depth. The X-ectioners are definitely the premiere DJ group. Check out the solid introduction by Triple Threat DJs (Vinroc, Shortkut and Apollo) it's a great opener, if you like the X-ecutioners you'll enjoy Triple Threat .... I believe they have an album coming out....
Very good CD! The best DJ CD out there!.......2002-10-26
to tell you the truth, the only reason why I bought this CD was because I'm a big Linkin Park fan and I loved the "It's Goin Down" track and I wasn't expecting this to be that good of a CD, but boy was I wrong! I'm not really into hip-hop and rap (I like rock, but some rap is okay) but this CD really was very very good. The only other DJ CD I have is Freestylers "We Rock Hard" which I don't know if its even a DJ CD but it sure sounded like it, and I really loved that CD! anyway, I really recommend this CD to everyone who likes underground hip-hop/rap, and to anyone who actually enjoyed Linkin Park's my opinion kick [behind] "Reanimation" because "Built From Scratch" kind of sounds like some of the rap remixes! Get this album only if you like underground rap!

Dj Bobby B has Done it again.......2003-12-31
If you like the Suburban Noize artists and including Dj Bobby B, you will really LIke this album. This is Bobby B's second album and it is much better than any Dj That I have herd of in the california area. Dj Bobby B has been spinning the tables for almost a decade and he is a really good turnatbleist. If you are satisfied with this album which includes the Sub-Noize Tribe, Buy it before they go out of stock. The reason why I am saying that they might go out of stock is because many people who like him when he starts to become more popular in the Cali. area, his album will be flying off the charts of the underground nations. So if you want to know more info, go to www.suburbannoizerecords.com if amazon cannot contain the album from Dj Bobby B or the other artists from the record label, "SUBURBAN NOIZE RECORDS" But if you have any questions, you can contact me from aim which is taylorfeuer or you can email me at taylorfeuer@netscape.net Thank you and I hope you enjoY the Instrumental Journey by DJ BOBBY B
The DJ that kicks all the others' ...!.......2002-01-06
This is the DJ of the Kottonmouth Kings on his 2nd Solo Album, the other being "99 rips beyond,...". There are lots of good tracks on here and Bobby B. don't eva let down. All of the guests on here are from the Suburban Noize Record group and include Corporate Avenger, The Judge, Kottonmouth Kings, Grand Vanacular, Kona Gold, and Dog Boy.
The Best tracks on here are "Underground Kids" which features KMK and The Judge. Awsome beats. The other standout is "Industry" feat. Johnny Richter. Some of the tracks are pretty short, but it's all good. The DJing makes up for it.
-Peace-
Chock Full Of Stoner Goodness.......2001-12-15
DJ Bobby B is probably one of the most influencial and well known DJs of the west coast and most certainly the nation's underground.
DJ to the Kottonmouth Kings, he's certainly earned his krown. Known to be one of the biggest stoners in the world, he hits hard in his second solo album with reefer filled beats and tweaked out sound only the "elevation of de herb" can give you.
This entire album leaves your mind sticky with resin-like beats, drawn out to enwrap you into the music itself. Unlike too many strict DJs out there, Bobby B feels his work, loves his music and you can tell... he's all about being a DJ, you'll find no "look at me, I want to be a rapper too" choruses on this LP.
This album features many guest appearances to the likes of
*(Of Course) The Kottonmouth Kings & The Judge on the track "Underground Kids" which could have came off of any straight KMK album as a single, while the whole krew raps about their committed underground fame Bobby B throws it down heavy with beautiful bits of pop-culture thrown in;
*Johnny Richter (Kottonmouth King) on the track "Industry" which vibes through your speakers with a heavy backbeat and the deep socal drawl of Richter to mellow you out;
*Brad Daddy X (Kottonmouth King, Humble Gods) on the track "Men In Blue" (this is probably my favorite track of the album...) filled with the punk rock screams of Daddy X proclaiming the atrocity that is law enforcement that will linger through your mind all day long;
*Grand Vanacular shows up quite a bit; the list goes on.
So... go out and buy the damn record I assure you you'll love it no matter what your musical flavor...

D.J. X-pression X-cutioner Style.......2003-03-10
Upon my initial listen I really didn't know what to expect from this album. I had never heard of the X-ecutioners until I saw there video for the song "It's going down". The song was primarily rock driven and featured members of the group Linkin Park. The scratching in that song was unbelievable which prompted me to buy the album. The opening intro just blew me away. The way 4 d.j.'s could combine their separate styles on one album and have it not sound like a jumbled mess was incredible to me. This X-ecutioners album epitomizes the true creativity of hip hop in its purest form. The track production is tight and coincides perfectly with the groups cuts and mixes. There are a few guest m.c. appearances which do the album justice(except for the Biz Markie track)but the highlights of this album is when the d.j.'s let loose on a track. It is truly a beautiful thing. Give love to the d.j. or d.j.'s in this case and pick this one up. You will not regret it.

When the momentum behind turntablism shifted from east to west, the X-Ecutioners (formerly the X-Men) maintained New York's continued relevance, helping to bring scratching back to conventional hip-hop. With their second album, it's not just their hands that do the talking: guests such as Large Professor, Pharoah Monche, and metal heads Linkin Park help balance the album. But while these MCs might give lyric fans something to listen to, the focus is still on sound manipulation. One of the album's highlights is "Genius of Love," a stitched-together reworking of the Tom Tom Club's club classic. Likewise, frenetic scratches complement Kenny Muhammed's blistering beatbox on "A Journey into Sound." The X-Ecutioners root the album in intricate scratching and sound play, stretching themselves thin at times, but ultimately they've produced an album that's well worth a listen. --Oliver Wang
