Music of Burton Lane.......2006-02-18

This CD is a real delight as Michael Feinstein is one of my favorite performers. He does a great job with this music by Burton Lane. I have both Volumns of music by Burton Lane and I enjoy listenting to both of these CD's

Great CD!.......2000-11-26

It took awhile for me to enjoy the songs on this CD, but once I did, I couldn't stop listening. There are romantic songs, funny songs, powerful songs. A little something for everyone. If you don't enjoy it at the first listen - don't give up! This CD will definately grow on you!

One of the better albums of the early days of gangsta rap.......2003-04-19

I bought this album (cassette tape) on a hunch back in the late 80's (or early 90's, can't remember exactly when), back when I was into gangsta rap. I was looking for new artists and took a gamble on this album. It ended up being one of my favorite albums of all. The words are witty and I really liked his rapping style. It's a meld of old school rapping and gangsta rap overtones. Kinda hard to describe if you've never heard the his music. His second album took a darker turn and tried to be too much of a gangsta rap bandwagon. It's a real departure from the first album--completely different. I think it's what killed his career--hopping on the gangsta bandwagon. You Can't Hold Me Back proved you don't have to cuss every other word to get your point across. Instead, he uses catchy words and phrases. I like all of the songs on this album. Each one is unique sounding and so unlike other rap. If you're lucky enough to find this album on CD grab it up! I saw it on a used CD web site and was fortunate enough to pick up both albums at once. It's not published anymore, so you're going to have to find it used. I have it in OGG format (compressed; like MP3) now, so I'll never lose the album again...

Instead of enhancing Beatles classics by incorporating a classical orchestra, all this record does is takes Beatles classics and make them sound like dull, pompous and completely unimaginative.

Great & Unique Work.......2004-11-17

I thought this project when released was skillful, but before it's time. There was something quite different in the way this production was put together. From my understanding, the project was actually a demo-version of the production. I've listened to the updated version recently and see that it is a must hear project. I've also listened to some of the new work coming from DEG Records. I believe this time around, Brother Art is in the industry loop and standards. Being able to have the original copy here though will eventually be a classic piece for my future library. The project is very personal as Brother Art takes us through his life's journey. The only set back was the mastering work by the previous producers.

Tom skee is 110% back........2001-06-19

Bass has definitely been uniquely taken to a much deeper level. Every track on this consists of very different melodies, an baselines from one another. Dj squeeky saw to it, that this entire cd rumbles with subwoofer action all the way through. Tom skee's style is being spit from a more aggressive mindstate on most tracks. There is a couple slight downfalls to this cd though, yet they are easy to look past. On like three of the tracks the chorus gets a little repetitive. And the last of my small list of complaints, is the lack of Criminal Mane appearances(he lays it down 2 or 3 times). Tom skeemask has more of a lyrical contribution to even it all out though. I now have twice as much respect for Squeeky, and all those affiliated.
