Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Half techno, half hip hop.......2004-05-28

I am a big techno fan. Techno is one of my favorite genres of music. I was first exposed to some really great techno through a former roommate of mine in college. He really knew his techno music, from BT to Orbital. I bought as many techno compilations I could get my grubby hands on as a means to expose myself to different types of techno. One of my first compilations was the second volume in the "Urbal Beats" series. I liked that cd a lot. A couple of years later, I came across the third volume in the used cd bins and thought I would give it a shot. I have to say that I was rather disappointed in what I heard. Half of the music is hip hop orientated, namely the first four tracks on the cd. I did like the Method Man track "Judgement Day" (Super Jupiter Remix). The other hip hop tracks were only so so. As far as the techno tracks on the cd, most left something to be desired. I wasn't big on most of them. The only tracks I did like was by Orbital, Moby, and Underworld. I was disappointed in the third volume of "Urbal Beats". It was too inconsistent and uneven.

3 out of 5 stars woops!.......2002-02-04

If you get sick of CDs that have all good tracks on them that you love listening to over and over, then buy this cd- its got 4 good tracks-they're good tracks, but the others seriously eat it.

3 out of 5 stars More Hardcore Than The First Two Collections.......2000-06-01

Compared to Urbal Beats 1 & 2, the music generally has a harder edge. Many tunes feature the hip-hop element that is now more prevalent in the genre. Best suited for hardcore electronic fans.

5 out of 5 stars [8= urb delivers =8].......1999-10-01

The urbeats compilations has evloved into something that really accommodates alot of differente styles of eletronic/techno music. this latest addtion to me has clearly stated that it could careless if it can make people get up and dance, rather it illustrates that music in this genre can express various worlds. don't just buy this cd because others say it's great rave music... some of it might not be, but as least they are sincere.
