REAL gangsta rap.......2007-06-08
This is the real rap game right here. Now, i'm a white boy that listens to metal, but i love bangin on wax,SPM,and bone thugz. I have the whole Bangin' on Wax collection, this first one, the saga continues, nationwide and damu ridas, the best of the damu's and the best of the crips, and nationwide and damu ridas vol.2. I'd recommend getting ALL of these albums. This is real rap right here. Now, i was never in a gang so i'm not going to get on here pretending like i'm a studio or internet gangsta, but i am interested in the L.A. gang scene and this is what led me to order all of these cd's. The beats are funky and the flows sound awesome to me for these guys making these cd's in like 2 weeks. At first, i just liked the bloods, but now i love the crips on here too. It took me a while to get into Crip'n Ain't Easy, and Steady Dippin' but atfer I got the bangin on wax dvd i love the crips on here too. On the first couple of listens they sound a little weird and different. This is REAL gang bangin music here, this is where rap came from right? the streets. It's not the crap they play on the radio, hip hop with the same lame lyrics repeated over and over and over for the whole song. I'd really recommend this to anyone who is interested in the gang life and who is into REAL Rap music from the streetz. REDRUM 781, Sin Loc, AWOL, Bloody Mary, All the rappers tear it up on here.
OFFICAL HIP-HOP REVIEWER.......2006-12-12
im here to write another review for all you fans of the hip hop world. now just been reading through the reviews that a lot of people have writen about this album and it makes me laugh, just what i'd thought i'd see, most of the people think they are members of the bloods and crips gang.. .. .. lol. i think you guys should read up on the crips because to be a member is rather extreme but hey.. .. you guys already know that since it seems most of you have been through it (yeah, right) you see, having two large black men beating you half to death with bats and planks of wood seems rather extrem "but wait", not only that but your hand or knee aint aloud to touch the floor for 5mins while these gentlemen are beating you like tweedy bird loc would beat eazy e. So please stop using words like CUZZ which for those who dont know is what actual and REAL crip gang members call each other.
and iv also noticed that you guys are writing BK and CK, you guys realy do think your members. if you like saying CK then why not have a walk down kelly park and say it guys.. .. . for those who dont know what BK and CK mean BLOOD KILLA and CRIP KILLA. now i know all the big slang words but you dont hear me thinking im a blood or crip and i bet must of you who have wrote a review aint a blood or crip either.
now if your like me and are simply interested by the gang life in LA and dont actulay think your some big crip OG who seems to like spending his gang life buying and writing reviews on amazon while some how gangbanging on the tough streets of compton! ! ! if you are like me and are interested in listening about gang life then this album maybe for you, please be aware that the album does use actualy gang members so if your a fan of what i call HIP POP ie: R-KELLY ( sorry for having to bring his name into this.. .. .. what a soft one. ) or USER!! ( sorry again ) then you may find alot of the word hard to understand, if you have what is called street knowledge of gang words you should be fine. tweedy bird loc was part of the project for this album and if you'v not heard his albums i strongly advice you look him up next, iv wrote a review on his 187 RIDE BY album which is help full.in the banging on wax album there are a lot of sample beats which sound great. please dont be put off by the other reviews of this album but do take in mind the SLANG of alot of the members on the album i'll give you a quick samply ie: in the song piru love the words "in the bity of bompton", may confuse some people but to fans of the bloods will know the crossing out the C and using a B is a normal thing for the bloods. people who do buy the cd please give it time to grow on you, the cd seems OKAY at first but after a week of singing PIRU LOVE over and over due to the fact it gets stuck right in ya head will make you want to listen to the cd quite a lot. so for a quick sum up. people who like hardcore rap and like having to pay attention to the words been said over a funky beat, this is for you. people who like the more laid back ie: mc eiht, even biggie and have trouble listening to word and find your self getting to involved in the beat, try listening to song such as BANGING ON WAX, PIRU LOVE, C-SICK, CRIP CRIP CRIP, of the internet first then buy the cd. hope i help alot of you with the cd decision ( just buy the cd itz only about $8, come on.. .. .. )
Bloods & Crips "Bangin On Wax" ----- 3.5 Stars -----.......2006-09-26
Bangin on Wax was a gangsta rap music project by both the Bloods and the Crips. At first it seemed impossible that the two rival gangs would collaborate on a music project but the impossible happened. The music project was organized by Los Angeles area producer Ron "Ronnie Ron" Phillips and rapper Tweedy Bird Loc. Actual gang members from both sides auditioned on a tryout and the best ones were chosen for the project. The album was released in 1993 on Dangerous Records and was a success selling over 400,000 copies. There is also another album from the Bloods and the Crips on the Bangin on Wax project titled "The Saga Continues," which was released in 1994. After this album, however, the rappers who appeared on the albums began recording separate albums for Warlock Records, under the group names Nationwide Rip Ridaz (Crips) and Damu Ridaz (Bloods).
I've never heard so many sampled beats.......2005-10-08
Song 2 is really good and I also like song 13. This group steals alot of old funk music. The sampling done on this album is what makes it interesting. It is amazing that noone killed these guys, for calling themselves Bloods and Crips.

You gotta give it up 4 the Crips on this track, man! Peace to the Rollin' 60's & Nutty Blocc Crips, even though the Crip gangs may have rappers that give us C's a bad name like Snoop Doggy Doggy Dogg & Tha Mutt Pound, the Crips still have good rap artists such as Eazy-E, B.G. Knocc Out & Dre'sta, MC Eiht, CMW, CJ Mac, Lil' C-Style, MC Ren, Ice Cube, WC, Lil' Eazy, Coolio, Da Lynch Mob, Above The Law, Kokane, Scarface, The Geto Boys, C-Bo, Lil' 1/2 Dead, Swoop G & many other rappers. Peace to DJ Quik, 2pac, Outlawz, Hi-C, Mausberg, The Game, AMG, Mack 10, AllFrumTha-I & Cypress Hill who were members of the M.O.B. Piru Bloods. Still have to give it up 4 my C-walking homies, Crips-4-Life!
Banging On Wax 2: Saga Continues best hits are G's & Locs, East Side Rip Rider, Slob 187 & Slobs Keep On Slippin', also muthaphukk the Damu Rhidaz aswell!
Big Freeze and crew saved the crabz..........2005-07-04
from being completely sorry...the crabz came back really strong. The trade off songs with Bloods and crabz were all awesome, it's really something amazing to listen to, hearing these g's trade off like that. Lil Hawk and krew held the Blood saga with another 5 star rating, but i have to admit that the crabz did a LOT better job on here. East Side Rip Rider, 187 and the rest of the crab songs are actually worth listening to unlike the first Bangin On Wax, which was a disgrace to crabz everywhere...highly recommended for fans of REAL gangsta rap straight off the streets..

Customer Reviews:
The Ultimate Gang-Bangin' Collection.......2007-06-09
Bang'n On Wax:The Best Of The Crips is highly recommended if you like REAL gangsta' rap. These are real g's here, not just "studio thugsta's or studio gangsta's",these raps come from real gang-bangers.
Now, at first, i only liked the Bloods from Bangin' on Wax. Then, I got Bangin' on Wax 2...The Saga Continues and the "C" side with Big Freeze,Troll-Loc,AWOL,B.G. ScarFace,G-Bone,Cixx Pac,and Bronco got me all into the Crips. Next i got the Bangin' on Wax dvd and the vidoes on their got me into the crips off the first bangin on wax. (Sin-Loc,C-Note,AWOL,Blue Rag,Do Or Die,B.K.,Genuine Draft)
This 2 cd set has almost all of the Bangin on Wax hits, from parts 1 and 2 and also from the solo cd NationWide Rip Ridaz. Plus, you get 8 bonus tracks like Slob B.K.O.,C-Alrigt remix, and B.G. Scarface and AWOL tracks. All of the bonus traccs are good except for going to crip nick, but that's just a skit.
I love the way this tracced too, whoever tracced did a pretty good job, the only thing i changed was the bonus traccs from the first bangin on wax i put with on disc 2 with the other g's from the first bangin album. And it was missing Slobs Keep On Slippin' from the saga continues and the remix on nationwide, but you can add those in! Other than that, this set was perfect!
ALL of the tracks on here are my favorites, I just love this 2 cd set.
I'd recommend ALL of the Bangin' on Wax cd's, Both sides "B" and "C" sides. Get the Best of the Damu's too!!!
Support REAL Gangsta rap and buy these Bangin on Wax Cd's! All the beats are tight and nicely produced as well for being from 1993-1995.

I remember seeing the video for "wish you were here" when I was 14 and I thought it was tight so I went and got "bangin' on wax 2"-shoulda been cool-but it wasn't.the version on the studio cut didn't have the chorus sung in it and that was pretty frooty.but now I found a copy,so it'll be tight to here that the way it was then.

C-Side Rhida, locC!.......2005-12-30
