Incredible.......2004-11-07
Long before Korn, or Limp Bizkit, or any other band claiming that they were responsible for "rap-rock", there was Biohazard. The best band you've never heard, they are every bit as tough as they sound; hailing from the Bronx and delivering a punishing metal rhythm fused with some rhymes that made the band unique in their day. "No Holds Barred" finds the band in Europe of all places, clocking in with 24 tracks of pure adrenaline pumping, headbanging music that's better than just about anything else the genre has pumped out today. Classic tracks like "What Makes Us Tick", "Urban Discipline", "Business", "Better Days", "Black and White and Red All Over", "Tears of Blood", "Chamber Spins Three", "Wrong Side of the Tracks", and "Punishment" are brought to life live, and the recording quality is surprisingly tight. Although I would have loved to have seen "Loss" included on this set, I can't complain with how just plain awesome this collection is. A must have for any and every Biohazard fan.

This is a great cd, the sound is very raw and how they would sound as if you were listening to them right there! Check out "Love Denied" and "What Makes us Tick"! 24 tracks you cant go wrong!

This CD rules! If you are intrested in looking into Bio buy this, it has all the best songs! ALthough id still buy the others especially urban Discipline it is a RAW cd quality is superb and music is kickin, Biohazard is NOT like Pantera or Sepulura or Korn or any of them they have a unique style, and it kicks props to Billy for the cool lyrics that actually have a meaning behind them and a good message! Thats right kiddies this cd wont incite you to praise judas or kill yourself the lyrics have a good message to them and treat real life subjects, so dont buy this cd if you want to praise satan or if you feel real life issues will make you insane

What can you say, this album is straight away from the moment it starts playing such a gangsta album and a true classic compton album
alot of people give hype to dre's " the cronic album " but this is another and in my eyes by far more "real" and unique album
This is tweedys second album " 187 ride bye " was the first to come out then this fallowed in 1994
The album starts with the song " album bitch " With a funk backing beat and simple drum and bass tenique this song realy starts this album off, tweedys lyrics mention women noticing him now he's got a record deal and the word " gold digga " comes to mind!
This album is extremely diffrent from his first, no holds barred has more male artists featuring on songs and has a lot of artist from the dangerous records progect album " the bloods and crips, bangin' on wax "
There are such artist as bloody mary, kilo g, fo' clips
Towards the end is the most funniest skit iv heard on an album so far, and as i am sure you'll all agree most skits just get skipped and seem to fill and album up with the same old jokes but this skit is one of them rare ones that you actualy find your self skipping songs toget to it!
This album lays of eazy e and moves more onto dr dre, mc ren, and 2live crew.
PLease dont be put of by the price tag as i im sure you wont find this album much cheaper, " if you find it at all "
This album has very few skip tracks and if your a fan of the early compton style you'll love it

Knocc Out, Dresta, King-T, Hi-C, Daddy V, Mausberg, Tone Loc, etc. Tweedy Bird Loc's lyricz contain topiccs such as homophobia, raCism, hate towardz women, legalizin' Marijuana, Gang bangin', Police, etc. Tweedy Bird Loc was born in the Southside of East Compton in the same neighboorhood as Eazy-E and waz a K-Rhider Crip jus like Eazy-E, Tweedy Bird Loc has had fueds with Eazy-E beCuz Eazy wouldn't sign Tweedy to Ruthless Records, so Tweedy Bird Loc opened up Dangerous ReCords and has had Blood & Crip collaboz on hiz "Bangin' On Wax" albumz which are a lil' corney but yet pretty dope, in 1992 Tweedy dropped hiz joint "187 Ride By", then in 1994 he dropped this dope joint called "No Holds Barred", which on the song Dub Sacc which is a tight G-funk joint about legalizin' Marijuana, fasho Tweedy is the loc reppin' the CPT at itz fullest, Fucc Miamie (At Luther Campbell) is another sicc G-funk joint dissin' Luke of 2Live Crew & the city of Miamie, also is givin' up propz to Compton & Watts, Ya'll Can't Fucc With Us (At Eazy-E) featuring Red Rum is Hmm......lol, sinCe when did that loc Tweedy think he can diss Eazy-E, hahahahahaha......sorry Tweedy Bird Loc, but your dissing waz lame, at least the joint has a dope beat, and Dangerous Is The S**t featuring The Dangerous Records Camp is a dope G-funk joint talkin' about Dangerous Recordz being a dope Record Company label.

A Fine Album of Neo-Swing.......2004-06-28
This 1977 recording, produced by the legendary Harry Lim, feaures a sextet made up of Al Cohn, Warren Vache, Scott Hamilton (in a very early recorded appearance), McKenna, Milt Hinton, and Butch Miles. No new ground gets broken here, but this is extremely skilled and inspired swing playing by some latter day masters of the form, and is a pleasure from beginning to end.
Hold It!.......2002-02-28
This is not a McKenna solo album. You will hear very little of McKenna here-on. This album was originally recorded in 1977 and is a remaster done in 2001. ... No aknowlegement is given to the other performers period. I don't recommend this recording.

Pete got it all wrong.......2006-03-28
Pay attention to detail, genius. This is the real deal, Urban Discipline and the live No Holds Barred album remastered in one package for the price of a regular cd. That should be good enough. Sure, it may seem like no-frills, but some actually like that. Personally, I wasn't all uppity about having no lyrics in the booklet for one of the Obituary Two From The Vaults I had bought in the past, which by the way were the first two cd's from the band I've ever owned. You've got the internet if you wanna look up lyrics, but if you feel things should be handed out to you, then whatever.
Anyway, this is classic hardcore that is in your face, and there weren't that many good bands like Biohazard that could do hardcore justice. This is a testament. Pick it up and listen for yourself.
BEWARE!!.......2005-07-31
This reissue is shoddy crap produced by ROADRUNNER RECORDS. This, like all their double discs contains no liner notes, no lyrics, just a lame interview. Buy the single disc remaster of Urban Discipline. Paying the extra bucks is worth it for the original packaging. BTW, The art is completely awful on the double CD version.

Great Music.......2005-09-19
If you have never heard Josh Holmes, you are missing out!!! Josh is a great songwriter, singer, guitar player, and performer! I have been blessed to know him and watch his music grow. This CD is awesome, as are all of his CDs. Once you have the CD, you are sure to listen to it over and over again...
Born to Perform.......2005-03-12
I was introduced to Josh when I had privilege of seeing him perform at a small, low-key coffee house out in the Chicago suburbs. I was completely blown away by his technical skill on guitar, unique vocal style, and confident stage presence. This guy was born to perform. Having said that, I think this is a good CD, filled with well written songs and clever, heartfelt lyrics. However, I think Josh should return to his roots and incorporate more of that Motown sound into his music! It's what makes him unique and sets him apart from the rest of the monotonous acoustic bums. Also this man can play guitar like no one I've ever seen, yet this album doesn't reflect the scope of that talent. I wish this CD would capture more of the "true sound" of Josh Holmes. Nevertheless, it's still a great CD.
I totally recommend this CD for fans of Howie Day, David Grey, John Mayer, and Motown. Support an artist whose talent truly deserves to be rewarded. And if you ever have the chance, go see him live! You won't regret it!

This is one of the best CD's I personaly have ever heard. It is definatly a must have for a roadtrip. I would recomend this CD to anyone of any age. If you love a great voice backed up by great guitarwork strap on your headphones and enjoy:)
Ready For The Big Time - America, meet Josh Holmes.......2004-12-22
Anyone who knows Josh Holmes also knows the man is committed to his passion - music. He has worked very hard to make a name for himself in Indiana, but it is obvious the rest of America will soon be talking about this talented musician. I do believe this is his first CD picked up by a national distributor. A sure sign that Josh is on his way to becoming very successful musician.
And now, the review - track by track:
#1. Fallen - Is the best song on the CD. It has a great entry and quickly introduces the listener to Josh's great vocals. His gritty, almost coarse, voice makes him sound like a smoother and better singing Bruce Springsteen. I think this is the song on the CD that could get a LOT of "air" play. It is very catchy and shows off Josh's ability to write lyrics and music that match up perfectly.
#2. Come Dance With Me (Layla) - Strange entry on this one. My first thought was, "Ska BAND music! Noooooooooooooo!!!!", but after the second or third time listening, I started to like it a little. The only problem is that "Fallen" is such a smooth piece of work (good rock tune) that this was too big of a bounce for the second song to be SKA-sounding.
#3. Can't Keep Running - This song is good, but I think Josh needed to mix in some unexpected changes to spice it up a bit. This one is almost too calm, but I like it better than "Come Dance With Me".
#4. Flower - Is that Lenny Kravitz? Nope, it's Josh showing he has a voice and musical ability ready for "The Big Time." Great beat, great lyrics, and Josh manages to say the word "flower" over and over again without sounding like he should be hosting "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy". No easy accomplishment.
#5. Table 4 One - Mr. Holmes really outdid himself on the lyrics for this one. Bravo! The kid from Schererville, Indiana, is capable of writing well beyond his years. And I'll bet he only gets better at his craft.
#6. For Granted - There's a message here, hidden in these lyrics that may be too deep for me to read, but I'm sure Josh wrote this one from the heart. This is not his best work, but it wasn't bad. In fact, I don't think Josh has ever written a "bad" song. This song might take a few listens to really start enjoying it.
#7. Greener On The Other Side - Smooth, easy on the ears, and, a good slow song in the beginning. Picks up later on, and that adds to its appeal. The one complaint I have is that Josh repeats "FOR YOU" way too much. He really needed to remove that REPEAT. Or at least not REPEAT it so much. Other than that one complaint, I really like this song.
#8. Don't Look Back - This song once again shows Josh's range of talent. He manages to change pitches, direction, and focus just enough to make this edgy and at the same time keep it smooth. Not even sure how he does that. Glad he does, though.
#9. Grounded - Not a good way to the end the CD. This song doesn't seem to belong with the rest of the CD. But how many CDs are without one DUD?
So there you have it, my review. Seven really good songs and two that I wasn't quite fond of. Josh Holmes is a good musician, and his CD is up to par with those already on the playground (of the music business). I think most will enjoy this CD, Table 4 One. See that buy button up there? Click it. Support a musician who wasn't created by a Production Company but worked his way up from the bottom.
