I wasn't expecting to have 4 discs for this price, and the music is a quality selection of film music, giving a good scope of the genre, and a very listenable transfer.

This collection is bound to capture your heart and evoke a tin ear on successive tracks. I found much to like and some duds - easy to skip over.

For the price, this CD is a great bargain. The musical selections, as you might expect, are mixed in quality ranging from extraordinary to so so, the balance being worthwhile and interesting. Sonically the CD is excellent.

I have been listening to great scores for many years and this collection is truly inspirational in so far as the choice of different scores takes you on a journey of listening pleasure matched by only a few collections.The price is incredibly reasonable for hours of listening pleasure. Don't pass this one up

Long ago...........2005-12-24

My friend let me use his tape in 1990 cuz I had 6 10's in my car...I was the only kid with a system in his car @ school!!! I still bang this album to this day. You want BASS, Ya got BASS, This CD is a must have!!!

Lower Than Dynamite........2005-10-23

There are some tears in my eye. I decided to throw the baby out with the bath water. My Christianity deemed it necessary that I throw away all my tapes, to much cussing and violence, but the Bass music should have stayed (I think).

There were 2 versions of Lower Than Dynamite, one with a rap on top of it (MC Madness, he was fairly decent better than RX Lord, by not T Issam or whatever his name was). Both version were as we used to say the bomb. I loved this album, but I cannot give it a 5, the 5 is reserved for one Bass album and that is Ain't No Doubt About It. The album has to me what has to be the greatest Bass song of all times Feel the Bass 3. Please see my review of that album. I will spill all I think of Bass music there.

Years ahead of its time.......2005-09-13

I remember picking this up years ago and I still listen to it today Magic Mike is one of the greatest DJs of all time utilizing James Brown era funk and a serious old school vibe this will be in your player for years to come. Mike opened the door for rappers like ludicris and trick daddy but never really got the credit he deserved. If you do not own a Magic Mike album you are seriously missing out this is the best the old school has to offer

This BASS CD in the name of the game........2004-11-23

This CD has a few the best low end booming bass tracks period.
I cannot tell you how many speakers this has blown.
User beware.

Old School Bass.......2002-06-09

This is one of the first bass records that I ever owned. It is still one of the best. I have played this for a few of my old friends. They have all commented that they cannot believe that they are hearing it. It takes most of them back to a time when there were very few people that listened to this music. Magic Mike was the best and still cannot be forgotten. I just recently played this CD for a new friend of mine. He must have been about about 6 year old when this record came out. He had never heard it before. He is what I would consider a modern day bass head. He could not beleive all of the little sound bites that he has heard in the new bass music that was on this CD. That is why this is the best. Feel the bass. It is still a speaker terror upper no matter what version you listen to.

Melodic Masterpiece with a Metallic bite?.......2007-07-24

This is my 3rd attempt to do the music of Mr. Phil Vincent justice by trying to describe it, but alas I cannot do that. The previous reviewer touched on some characteristics such as Phil's high pitched and very melodic pipes which he compared favorably Brad Delp. Phil certainly has that sort of quality to his voice, one might even mention Don Dokken (though not as raspy) or even Paul McCartney. Wherever he falls in so far as that elite company is concerned, one thing is certain, the man can definitely sing!! As mentioned in my 2 previous reviews for Rising and No Turning back, it doesn't stop there. You want wall of sound guitar work, you WILL find that here. You want rifforama?? You will definitely find that here. Do you want tempo and rhythm changes??? Plenty of textures and different tempos at work on this release. Add in more than a few keyboard hooks and flourishes and some great drum work and you have the perfect mix for Life is a Game. The production quality is a bit "edgier" and a bit more "raw" in places, but in the end melody is rampant in this release. As with Phil's other work, I have some favorites on this one: Letting Go and Evil's Back rock out with a vengeance! Undertow and New Tomorrow hold down the mid tempo ground while Walk Away and No One's there speed it back up a bit. Life is a game is another great track but then they all are pretty strong. There is not a weak track in the lot, and there are 15 tracks on offer here so you get a lot of music (value) for your coin in the more than 70 minutes. I cannot stress enough how essential this is if you like melodic rock. This one has a real bite to it too for those who want a more metal taste to their melody. If you like Boston, Triumph, The Scorpions, Dokken or any of their brethren, you will definitely want to seek this one out to add to your collection.

Life is a Game=Great music.......2006-07-07

This guy should be huge but because of indie labels and their poor promotional skills Phil Vincent remains hard rock's best kept secret. As of this writing he's released 9 Cds.This is his second one and it really shows his heavy metal roots. "Letting Go", "Evil's Back" and "Life is a Game" really rock and the vocals are very Brad Delp-esque with lots of harmonies. I would compare Phil Vincent to a heavy Boston. A must have.

Don't buy this CD. It sucks worse than Alabama. Alabama sucks too!!! I can't believe people pay these people to do this crap. I could do better than them. I rule!!!!!!!!
