The Bulworth soundtrack album does for hip-hop what other movie-related discs do for their respective genres, showcasing a wide variety of styles under the banner of rap--a music that plays a key role in the Warren Beatty vehicle's plot. Where there's politics (another major theme), there's Public Enemy, which delivers "Kill Em Live," their second cinematic contribution of the month, following their work on Spike Lee's He Got Game. Bulworth also offers some intriguing matches, as Dr. Dre teams with LL Cool J for "Zoom" and Fugee Pras Michel hooks up with Grammy favorite Ol' Dirty Bastard and R&B newcomer Mya on "Ghetto Supastar." Whether or not Beatty's box-office pull holds, Bulworth should spark up some jeep action. --Rickey Wright

Decent soundtrack.......2006-07-02
Had i did this review 8 years ago I probably would have given this a 5+. For ghetto superstar alone. Be'in that I was in that club mentality back then. But lookin back and listenin to it now. That track is forgettable. This album has a few hot tracks. Some tracks bangin beats and weak lyrics or dope lyrics with wack beats. The standout tracks for me are Bulworth, How come, The chase, run and kill em' live. KRS and Method man on the same track? You know it gotta be banger. Some tracks is just a waste of space. However the album doesn't totally disappoint. I recommend to buy it cause it's still real hip hop from beginnin to end.
Thumbs up.......2001-03-03
This CD is really dope/With songs of both despair and hope/Who thought a white boy like Warren Beatty/Could inspire a soundtrack that's so fly/and that makes me cry/and die with laughter in my eyes/Dr. Dre and L. L. Cool J./Have got the stuff/That's all I can say/There's plenty that's fly on tracks 1 thru 14/You know what I mean? You know what I mean??
some good tracks.......2000-10-19
most of these songs are nothing special. the best songs are "bulworth" which was produced by the best hip hop dj,dj muggs of cyprress hill.also "the chase" by the rza and "lunatics in the grass" performed by b real and psycho realm.some of the songs are just straight up pathetic. like the tracks performed by "d-fyne","nutta butta",and "dr dre& ll coll j". this also has songs from different albums like "joints and jams" by the black eyed peas and "run" by cappadonna.aside from the good songs i mentioned, nothibg special here.
One of the best hip hop soundtracks ever.......2000-08-11
This was one of the hottest soundtracks of 98 hats off to the folks over at Interscope for putting together a compliation that surpasses most soundtracks out.. For one thing all the songs here are pretty connected to the theme of the film.. You actually didnt have to see the movie to know what was going on.. The tracks here was a story with in a story .. It gets over to a hot start with in my opinion the best track on the entire CD Zoom performed by Dr. Dre and L.L. Cool J this track banging vintage Dre.. After hearing this song you will wonder why there havent been more collaborations between the two.. The dancefloor anthem Ghetto Superstar- Pras, O.D.B., Mya.. One of the most intriguing collaborations Canibus and African singer Youssou N Doir How Come , Some of the dirty south flava is represented on this disc with Witchdoctor and his blazing track Holiday/12 Scanner, Kill Em Live- Public Enemy , Run- Cappadonna.. All these tracks mentioned are great certainly worth the price of the CD so if you havent already pick this up and a true hip hop head dont let it pass you by again
The best soundtrack I have.......2000-06-18
This cd overall is TIGHT...that's all I can tell you. There's LL Cool J, Dr.Dre, Cappadonna, Method Man, Witchdoctor, Ice Cube, Mack 10, I could go on and on...but this cd is boomin'! The best song on there is probably Maniac in the Braniac with Ice Cube, which he flows like crazy, then Mack 10 joins in. Holiday and Lunitics in the Grass are pretty good, too. If you are a true rap lover...this is a cd you CANNOT be without. Peace out!

"I don't know of a more significant composer in the world today," Warren Beatty said of the great Ennio Morricone in 1994. To his credit, Beatty put his money where his mouth is in the '90s, hiring il Maestro to score Bugsy, Love Affair, and his bold 1998 tragicomic political parable, Bulworth. Though Morricone's music shared screen time with a muscular hodgepodge of modern rap, it's gratifyingly been given its own release here. The disc's two Bulworth suites offer a compact primer of Morricone's often disparate styles and how they evoke different facets of the film's story and characters. The first is a lush, melancholy orchestral exercise that elicits fond memories of another Morricone masterwork, Once Upon a Time in America (replete with that score's resident soprano, Edda Dell'Orso), while the second evokes darker emotions through the composer's more tonally challenging Eurocentrism. --Jerry McCulley

Definitely a great R&B CD. I am totally into this one!.......1998-06-21
My favorite song on this album has to be: "Ghetto Supastar(That Is What You Are)", by Pras Miche/ Ol' Dirty Bastard/ Mya. I loved this movie, so after I saw it, I had to get the CD. I had never heard Mya before this and I was blown away. What a great voice!!! If you haven't heard this CD yet, you are missing out!!!
