A "Regular People" Review.......2007-03-20

So I was on a Renaissance kick for a while and picked this up, first of all, great value. I enjoy listening to a few of these every now and then but can't take too much at once, check out the previews and if you interested, go for it!

Not stilted but powerfully alive.......2005-02-24

My idea of stilted is to sing these madrigals in the phony, glee-club RP style endured for so many years, that made precious, quaint curiosities of them. The Elizabethan pronunciation on this CD is an eye and ear-opener. We may appreciate how much of that speech actually endures in regional accents in both the US and UK. More importantly, this CD brings us the sounds of the long-forgotten English human beings of the Renaissance, people who drank, fought and screwed, who brought us Shakespeare and the King James Bible. I love this recording.

Better at Italian than English.......2003-07-25

A stilted style and even more stilted attempts at Renaissance-English pronunciation make the English Madrigal disk a terrible disappointment. All emotional content -- the mellow, lumimous melancholy with flashes of fire that characterizes English music at its best -- has been drained in this attempt to kill, skin, and stuff these madrigals in order to present them as museum pieces. The pronunciation problem is particularly galling -- if these songs are going to be made incomprehensible to modern English speakers, where, then, is their cultural home?

The Italian pieces are presentable, enjoyable, and sung with delicacy and a fine sense of the artifice of the Italian madrigal. Although this recording can be moving, these pieces are performed more with reverence than with love. These are well worth hearing, but the French ensembles sing these with a bit more feeling. Try, say, Ensemble Clément Janequin.

Good album but they are not the new NWA!.......2006-08-11

I didnt want to give this album a chance because the first single dem boyz is kind of weak. But I gave it a shot and was a little bit surprised. Standout tracks: Felonies, No talkin, Dont put your hands on me, gangstas etc. Filler: Still slizzard, b----es and bizness, if you a thug and happy jamz. Happy jamz might have been okay if it wasnt for the dull beat and sloppy singing by jazze pha. The group's fatal flaw is the dead weight Jody Breeze. Felonies could've easily been a classic if it wasnt for Jody Breeze's non-rhyming verse. If that werent eneough he ruined P---y MFs with a verse that had nothing to do with the title. Example: I got a dame from France so freaky that she sleeps in a three point stance. Now tell me what does that have to do with p---y mfs? Nothing. Even Trick Daddy's verse was better than that. The only members that hold up this album is Big Gee, Big Duke and Young Jeezy (surprisingly!). Jody Breeze brought this album down bad! All in all this album is good but they can never touch NWA especially when one of their members (guess who? LOL) needs to step his rap game up immediately!

this cd is defintitely not one of the best i own but it is a good debut for the group n for young jeezy. it's easy to see that he is one of the best rappers in the group from the start but for a group they do well. most of the songs have the young jeezy feel to them and remind me a lot of his cd. but some are a lil bit wack. overall, it was an excellent debut for jeezy and if u like listening to his music u will enjoy this preview of the beginning of his rap career.

how all yall fools gonna come up in here calling this trash gangsta.. Kali is where the real ridas live and die notthe dirty.. DIRTY... south or the LEAST coast.. everyone since the mid 90's has bitten the west coast and this is no exception.. tha frontlinerz have a track called ''gangsta in me'' and they put it right on these so-called gangsta's callin themselves trap ni66az.. this is a joke.. like everything else and whoever said this isnt commercial.. give it up.. this record is sitting on wal-marts shelves!!! i heard this and had one serious laugh.. boyz n da hood... another example of how you suckers bite the west...

It's The Truth .......2006-04-06

I have to agree with other reviewers because when you first hear this album the beats hook you in but after a while you start to realize the truth. You realize that a man who once brought a hip hop legend to this world of music is now bringing an army of mixed players. He's got talent in Ness and Babs and I think Jody Breeze and Duke have tons of potential but Jeezy and that other guy are way below average, see I don't even remember the other guys name cause he didn't stand out. Then he's got the no talented stars that get released and you always hear their songs and videos but where's Ness at. There's no way they can call themselves NWA and get away with it because this album is nowhere near the worth of any of NWA's albums.

Duke and Jody go hard on this debut album and if anybody is wasting their time with this group it's them. Now Diddy is trying to get even more money by stretching this half way group by adding Wayne and this proves that he really is just trying to cash in on the south. The album rest on the production, which are street bangers, but to me they get old fast and Jody and Duke's back won't be able to hold this group up for long. Even with the new addition they'll only get a bigger spot on a mainstream list and a lower spot in hip hop history but who cares about talent and respect anymore. It always has and always will be about the money and Diddy is making that clear with the release of the weak Biggie Duets.

Man I love this album. Great beats, good bass, dope lyrics, and now it's out of print! Fear not it will be rereleased within the year. Despite the fact that blaze has Jaime Madrox write his lyrics thats no gd reason to hate. This is one of the best things to ever come out of Psychopathic. Be sure to listen to the hidden skit at the end of the cd.

Could've been better............2006-02-03

I'm a fan of Blaze, but I believe this cd just isn't his best effort. Almost all of the beats are rock influenced, which doesn't mesh with Blaze's style of rap. This cd does have it's bright spots, such as "Casket" and "Juggalo Anthem" but overall, it's only medicore. If you've never heard of Blaze before, I suggest picking up Colton Grundy Tha Undying, because it is much better. Blaze is suppossed to be re-releasing this album sometime in 2006, and I expect the new version to be an improvment over the original.

after blaze released his first album i didnt think much of him,then he realeased one less g in tha hood...i been down with tha clown since i was 12 and im 21 years old blazes raps in this cd are out of this world the beats are awesome the best song on here by far is juggalo anthem if you a juggalo pick this $hit up today

This is my favorite non-icp Psychopathic album of all time. Every single song off of this album just left me in pure amazement. The music changes so much. Each song has its own style. I highly reccommend everybody who has never heard Blaze to pick this cd up before buying the slightly disappointing Colton Grundy.

Crap.......2004-09-27

the grave aint no place for a psycho thug killer, neither is my cd player. This guy makes a gimmick of being gangster rap, but with thrashing guitars hes not fooling anybody. He's got nice flow but his voice is terrible, you can barely understand the guy, he sounds like hes rapping with a mouth full of food or something. Every track has a rock chorus taking away from the "gangsta" image. every single track either has Violent J or Madrox in it. which makes it even worst. with an exeption of 2 or 3 tracks, this cd is weak.

This CD is one of the best to come out of psychopathics ever
because it has meaning, heart, soul, and it brings the wicked like no other. The dead man is the true dead killa, no otha wicked hoe like him and if you read this review, I strongly advise you, stay true to what I'm sayin, bump this noise and drink yo faygo and kick it til the end wit ya JUGGALOS!

This is the best CD I've never heard! From what I'm told this CD is great... I've never heard of Blase before or even heard any of their stuff but from what I hear they are great. Believe me and get this CD! Keep on keepin on Blase You Ded Homey!

If you love TNG and want all of the best of the soundtracks, then buy this! It'll save you money, and the TNG soundtracks are some of the best. The magic of this series can come alive, and it has a ton of music from all episodes, including mixed in versions that are really "cool".
