4 out of 5 stars Good for humor and shock value.......2005-08-09

Seems like militant feminist rap...until you read the liner notes and find out that most of the lyrics were written by a man, which pretty much deflates any uppity women pride thing (see previous review). But without analyzing whether it's a result of embarrassment, horror, shock, or empathy, you're going to laugh out loud at this hard-core extravaganza.

5 out of 5 stars Dirty Mouth Female Rappers.......2005-05-20

Before Lil Kim or Foxy Brown , there was BWP, B*tches With Problems. This duo talked about stuff that women talk about behind closed door. Periods were not off limits. The song Cotex is hilarious with one half of the group shouting, "B.... go change your Cotex," referring to a female funking it up. They talked about child support, deadbeat boyfriends, and cash. "Is the P Still Good," is about just what it sounds. I think the girl in the song gives the guy some and then puts him out. This group's biggest hit was "Two Minute Brother." The video was hilarious. They got a little more national exposure when their song "We Want Money," was featured in the Leslie Harris film "Just Another Girl on the I.R.T." I really don't know what happened to this group. This album really is an early 90's classic and people don't give BWP the credit they deservie. They were foul mouth and confident when a lot of the other early 90's female rappers were either on the concious tip, the crossover tip, or just on something different. Trailblazers, wonder what happened to them. This album is worth a listen if you never heard it.

1 out of 5 stars LIL KIM SMOKES U.......2005-04-04

When I first heard this I was a youngin' and I have missed this CD for many years. Well, when it arrived it just did not hold up. I suppose the dirty talk impressed me when I was youngun'... now they just seem silly as hell. Lil' Kim is better at the game. BWP were great the year they came out. Not worth the money today. And I usually think most hip hop from that era holds up.

Oh my god! This album rocks my soul. If you like other girl rappers (especially the really dirty ones) this is bound to be your new favorite album. Everybody that I play this for falls in love instantly.

5 out of 5 stars The female NWA.......2006-11-14

Although rap is not my thing, I bought this album back in 1991 along with an NWA album. Back then it was quite funny to hear women saying some of the things these gals rap about. If you like NWA, 2 Live Crew, Eazy-E, and stuff like that.. you'll dig this CD.

2 out of 5 stars Arabian Prince bombs on his comeback CD..........2001-04-21

I got this CD not too long ago, I expected songs similar to the album 'Brother Arab', but Arabian Prince changed up his style. Now he used slow synthed strings, and more sexual lyrics then before. He found another rapper named Side Show to help back him up, probably because Arabian Prince wasn't use to this kind of rap style. The album had the gangsta beat with too much emphasis on b-tches and f----n. There are maybe three tracks that are enjoyable to listen to, but the other ones sound to repetitive or just too slow. The highlight of the album is the song "Underworld" when Arabian Prince brings back a fast tempo song about the ghetto. The best slow-synth song would be "Ho's 2 Bozack". A.Prince brings a lot of the NWA's production crew to make the album. I don't have the import version of this album, but i think there are maybe one or two bonus songs.
