Not great.......2006-08-03
Based on listening to Never Change- which was the first SPM CD I bought, I found this one, bought it and listened to it, I thought it was awful, tried listening to it again Monday and I just can't. I don't know if it's because it doesn't have enough bass, or most of the songs sound the same. Don't get me wrong- I loved NEver change, thought it was one of the best CD's I've ever heard, this one just doesn't cut it for me, I now use the CD's as coasters so I don't stain my tables.
South Park Mex Did It Again! Tight & Wicked Cover 2!.......2005-10-21
Those of you'll who think Carlos Coy aka South Park Mexican is a pervert, well if so then you'll are a bunch of Sick-minded carless Pigs!!!!! South Park Mex is innocent, muthaphukkaz!!!!! Anyways, Power Moves is just 1 of SPM's tight albums.....the best song is Cali-Tex Connect which features the legendary Kid Frost aka Mr. Raza and SPM's homeboy Juan Gotti, aswell as Pass the Killa (Reggae), West Coast, Gulf Coast, East Coast (features Baby Beesh, Juan Gotti, Kid Frost, Rasheed & Low G), Power Moves (which features Bushwick Bill of legendary Houston's GB!), Illegal Amigos which is a tight song when your stoned, and Y Must I which is really Horrorcor-ish & Thuggish.

Mass-market DJ Screw mixes are difficult to come by, and SPM's Power Moves, an excellent album in its own right, is an excellent example of this unique Houston style of hip-hop spin. Nothing can beat the screwed-up mix of "Mary Go Round." An excellent buy.

Your not Mexican if you dont have this CD or any other of Proper Dos CDs! Even if you already have Lil Rob! Its all about Proper Dos the godfather of Mexican Rap! If you are into old school you will love this CD!!! Great lyrics and beats and a great message to Mexicans! You need to get it!

[Weak].......2003-03-15
Myself being of Mexican descent, I found this album to be [weak]. Political messages in rap went out about 13 years ago. Lyrics are pretty weak, though the production is ok. But having listened to rap for 20 years now, lyrics are what matter to me. If you take this rap out of its L.A. context, there isnt much value left in this. No one outside of the Southwest would buy this...
A Groudbreaking CD in the Latino Rap Scene.......2002-09-21
Being of Mexican descent myself, I find this album to be very revolutionary. Before Proper Dos, (with the exception of Lighter Shade of Brown) Latinos were missing in Hip-Hop music; But it was time for a change and time for Latinos to find their voice in Hop-Hop cuz rap needed a strong Mexican-American persona that Latinos could identify with. Frank V and Proper Dos exemplified that image. Since L.A. is predominantly Hispanic, it only makes sense that L.A. should have a thriving Hispanic Hip-Hop culture and Proper Dos were at the forefront of that movement. Which is why their music and especially this CD are very integral to the growth of Mexican-Rap. Proper Dos were like the Latino counterparts of groundbreaking west coast groups such as N.W.A., Frank V even has the tough vocal timbre that Ice Cube possesses. The Best Cuts on this CD are "M.F.M","Mexican Power","Uno Ochenta y Siete","Life Of a Gangster", and "Hard Time" which are ferocious tracks that breath fire on the twisted L.A.P.D. system and enlightens listeners about police brutality,discrimation, and racial tension in L.A. Overall, it's just a bangin' album and it's definately earned its place in Hop-Hop history as one of the greatest albums ever in my opinion. It's a must that you purchase this tight CD soon!

Exellent overview of the latest craze in the clubs of California.......2005-12-02
No doubt that reggaeton is the most popular latin dance in California clubs for us younger generation, however lately Puntas have been the rage in Southern California Mexican clubs. Punta is similar to merengue, and bachata but at times faster, and has a more Carribean feel. It's like merengue mixed with reggae, with conga drums. Great fun...
