These guys are awesome in their endeavors to create harmony, melody, and rhythm with steel drums and other percussions. I wasn't disappointed in the various traditional as well as comptemporay songs that are being played on this cd. I would highly recommend this cd for steel drum lovers, lovers of percussion music and those who enjoy instrumental or caribbean jazz.

Great Classic Party CD.......2005-08-02

Saw these guys playing at a mall in Marin around 1990. Bought their CD at that time...the one I'm reviewing here. It is simply great. Its been played over and over on countless vacations and parties. Today, 8/1/05, I'm playing it at the office and all are loving it. Buy this!

Smooth Baritone!!.......2005-01-29

Lou Watson's vocal style reminds me of soul singers of the 1960's Arthur Prysock & Billy Eckstine. He comes off smooth and easy to listen to. I enjoyed the title track and "Chance of a Lifetime". I sincerely wish he would get more airplay because his voice is a treasure.

A sunny Britpop sing-along. Great debut........2004-05-22

The more I listen to this CD, the more I find it difficult to narrow-down the myriad of influences I hear. An extraordinary UK release bubbling under music radar in North America. 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore' combines a hybrid of Britpop and glam hit by sunny-dewed harmonies. Confused? Just think Jellyfish meets Oasis, Dodgy meets The Brian Jonestown Massacre, or Brian Wilson's take on mid-90's Britpop. The indie-rock sounds are obvious on the Supernaturals debut, but add to the formula a retro 60's feel (typical of bands from the Elephant Six label) combined with a T Rex-type swagger. What stands-out are these colorful backing harmonies, breezy ooo's and ahh's that draw from Jellyfish, Super Furry Animals and Sloan, to early Beatles and The Who. 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore' is glossy sun-drenched power-rock, seeping of glam attitude, with infectious 60's melodies. There's something in this CD for everyone.

Likable Brit-pop type sound.......2000-11-13

A top 10 album in Britain on release, this title by the Scottish 5-peice creates a stylish pop sound. The fast songs such as Smile and Lazy Lover are a breath of fresh air, especially in the light of today's Coldplay-dominated UK scene. The humnour to the lyrics, which is slightly self-depreciating and a little gloomy, is neat, and the way the lyrics and music contrast still sees the music take over, and will get you singing along. The gentler songs like Pie In the Sky and Glimpse Of teh Light work well, the latter's opening lyric in particular is a classic - 'You left a big hole, bigger than one the council would have dug'. A good record by an under-appreciated band

According to the RADIKAL RECORDS website this guys just happened to get together and produce this MONSTER cd. Do it again.

I grew up on Freestyle and Dance music. This cd reminds me of that. #01 Summer Jam is an instant classic. Summer Jam must have the world record in remixes.

My favorite is #04 I can't handle it. #02 Vibin, #03 Saturday, #07 Trippin and #09 Tonight are all great songs.

Really good buy..The Underdog Project: You must do another cd!!!

Summer Jam!.......2004-05-25

Underdog Project first came out in mid 2001 with hits like "Summer Jam" and "Tonight" and "I Can't Handle it", they were big especially in Germany but never got the attention they deserved, in late 2003 they were back on the charts with a remix of "Summer Jam" made to hit the dance floors, it was a massive hit. Underdog Project's music is a mix of dance music and R&B, it's quite commerical and radio friendly with good melodies and hooks but far from the R&B-Pop you'll hear on the radio stations 24/7. Most of the songs are sung by a man with a very good voice in my oppinion, those are also the best songs you most likely would dance to. On "Vibin" there's both the man and and a girl singing, it's slower then the rest but good just the same. "Half a Woman" reminds me of "Robin S", you might remember their "Show me love"?. "Selecta" is somehow reggae/dance hall sounding, nice beats but not the best here. Overall however this is a wonderful album that doesn't sound like the rest. The only dissapointmet was that the song "Saturday" wasn't the same song as "Saturday Night" that was a minor hit some time ago, you'll probably have to check their remix album (if the released one yet) for that one, where you also get the "Winter Jam" version i think.

this music is NOT POP otherwise it would be NO.1 everywhere right now, its got some of the best music i've ever heard,the tracks, summerjam,saturday,vibin e.c.t are just breathtaking!!. You have to listen to this cd to believe it, and to think that not many people have heard this cd might actually be a good thing(i always let my freinds listen to it last), but goes to show that you have to look hard these days to find the GOOD music out there, most of todays mainstream music is not as good, but really there should be more music like this out there. the only problem if found with this cd is that its VERY hard to buy anywhere in music stores, but its well worth the find, you must buy this cd if you like GOOD MUSIC.

Underated.......2002-05-18

This is one of the best pop bands out right now. This cd is awesome. The songs Summer Jam and Tonight are two of the best songs. This cd is rarely out of my cd player. I let my friends listen to this cd and they want to know who it is and where they can find it. I love this cd, this band will be huge.

Underdog Project.......2002-01-17

This album is probably the best out there. It covers many genres of music including rnb, pop, dance, ballads and garage, although people say it isn't a party album it includes some very soulful tunes which are not intended to be danced to!

The Best By Wyclef Jean.......2000-12-15

I have listened to The Refugees many, many times and from doing so I became hooked on Wyclef Jean's voice. Despite the fact that Wyclef has an awesome voice, I, personally, feel that this has to be the absolute best of Wyclef. Although this song would not work without the help of the one, the only, ROCK!!! With his assistance, Wyclef and the people associated in helping with this track, have created the most catchy tune ever heard. Just listen once and I guarantee that you will agree with me on this one.
