3 out of 5 stars Shootyz Groove - 'Jammin' In Vicious Enviroments' (Polygram).......2005-03-27

Okay, just for the record,I USUALLY cannot stand most rap.However,rap-metal bands, such as this here artist,Shootyz Groove I thought was actually tolerable.I do not own this CD,I merely borrowed it to give it a listen. If you're into bands like Sausage,P.O.D.,Urge or Bloodhound Gang, you'll most likely dig this release.Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best hip hop rock endeavors ever.......2003-11-20

Seriously...these guys deserve credit for starting that short lived rap-rock thing that I'd rather forget...except for this band. It's smart and meaningful...no ego satisfaction (or inflation) like you'll find today and it's a perfect 50/50 blend of hip hop and rock. Anyone who ever liked the older Phunk Junkeez and WAYYYYY older 311 (you remember....back when they were still good) should check this out. A diamond in a pile of cubic zirconia.

5 out of 5 stars Rap-rock done right.......2000-09-23

Shootyz Groove's _Jammin' in Vicious Environments_ is quite possibly the best rap-rock CD ever recorded. Shootyz Groove actually has a great deal of talent. This CD can please both hard rock and rap fans alike. Each song on this disc is crammed with quality. I highly recommend it. (You should also check out _Hipnosis_ and _High Definition_.)

5 out of 5 stars One of the best albums in my collection.......2000-06-30

Shootyz Groove is the epitome of street-core, twinged reggae, hip-hop, metal, and dope rhythms. I do not own an album that captures the aforementioned elements so well. The songs on this album are classics and should be recognized as such. Shootyz deserves more credit than they have received. See them live when they perform "Level," you'll agree.

go buy this now and you will be very happy with it they rule and this cd is a good one do you want your skin chuck?

4 out of 5 stars This was Real Hiphop Ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-03-29

I was so SHOCKED by the first persons review that i couldnt help writing my own.My experience is totally different from his.I am a christian music retailer and i ordered multiple copies of this cd for resale.I looooooved the cd and so did everyone i sold it to.This ex-crossmovement member dared to talk about things that other christians run from.He was so real.He talked about his deliverannce from his past addiction to pornography and sex and other things. Its so comforting for those that are having such struggles.
Enocks cd is not for everyone. He has a unique style.Thats probably why the other guy couldn't appreciate the cd.He does know how to rap.He wasnt bragging or trying to sound like his secular counterpart. The album does have content.Which is what most albums lack these days.
This is an album worth having. Its ageless hiphop.Go get your copy.

1 out of 5 stars OH GOD.......2005-09-05

You know there were several red flags that went up before i bought this album that should have told me it was bad
maybe it was the fact that there were 5 copies of it in the used bin at the record store. maybe it was the really corny name of this album I mean AWEthentic ??? whatever the case this is hands down the worst rap album I have ever heard in my life.
I still dont know who produced it (and dont really care either) but the beats are some of most cheesy cliched and boring sounds that have ever come out of my stereo. I mean I could walk into the studio and record myself farting into a microphone and produce better sounds than this. Also to add insult to injury enock bables on frequently throughout the album about how hot his wack producer is with the beat. lyrically it only gets worse enocks raps are some of the most boring I Have ever heard its like hes not even trying and just wrote these raps 15 minutes before the album was supposed to ship. it not so much enocks fault as it is the bad timing 15 years ago he probably could have slid by with these lyrics but by todays standards it just doesnt work. The topics on the album range from growing up poor to drugs to life on the streets (never heard those before) my point is that there are many MCs an DJs who do what enock is trying to do here 100 times better. Peace to all the real Hip Hopers.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Reggae Compilation.......2007-07-03

This is a great reggae compilation. If you like 70s reggae, this is for you. There is not a bad song on the disc. The recordings are all excellent quality as well.

5 out of 5 stars Must-Have Reggae CD.......2003-03-13

I bought this years ago, only knowing a few songs on it, and LOVED every song...then lost it, and am psyched to find it again. This CD is truly excellent.

5 out of 5 stars Must-have reggae.......2001-01-03

I must say I consider myself a serious reggae critic, and this mix has some of the best ever...had it 8 years ago and finally found it again....PRAISE JAH!

5 out of 5 stars Jammin' and Outstandin'.......2000-07-28

This is one of the best mixed reggae albums I have ever heard. I recommend it to anyone who listens to reggae. Every song is up-beat and will make you want to get up and dance and sing. If you only buy one reggae album make this the one.

lock your doors. bar your windows. adman is shooting up your neighborhood, musically that is. with his casio keyboard, straight-outta-da-hood rhymes, and bad boy nursery attitude, he's pimping hoes in what appears to be a car he's far too young to legally drive. whether it be playing basketball in his friend's driveway or buying food for an elementary school girl, this thug proves time and time again that true gangsters have bedtimes and good morals. the $20 price tag might seem a tad pricey, but considering that it probably costed twice that to record and will probably never cut even might motivate you to...well, not buy it but...feel bad for him maybe? i dunno. anyways, the next time you're in compton, you better watch your back, cause adman is keeping it real up in this beotch.

      1 out of 5 stars Rich Parents?.......2005-11-15

"Mommy! Daddy! I WANT to make a hip-hop album!"

That line was probably followed by: "why of course, honey, but let's talk about it after your riding lesson, ok?"

I can't say this album is a complete waste. It did, after all, provide at least 15 minutes of laughter. Who on god's earth would spend 20 bucks on some idiot rich kid mumble his way through rhymes like "we went to the pool/it was pretty cool"? Nobody! So listen to the free smaples and get a nice fat chuckle out of it. But keep Jammin', Adman! You Barmitzvah is not too far off-- maybe mom and dad will buy you a better producer.

      5 out of 5 stars MASTERPIECE!.......2004-01-26

Until now, Mozart was the epitome of the child prodigy. He hath been supplanted by this youth of such musical genious and celestial prowess. I am at a loss for words. Each song surpasses the stellar achievement of its predecessor. The lyricism, musicality, nuanced tonal color, all combined synergistically to produce what one would have to call the greatest single work of art of the century. MAGNIFIQUE!
