4 out of 5 stars One of the best All-Around Rap teams Eva!.......2007-05-12

Production doesn't disappoint on this one. It's clear that this is New York emcee audio product right here. Here We Come is a great lead track. Yeah is grimy, appropriately jumped off by Tek. Sean P is as sharp as he's ever been, and Buck never slipped-he's still a leader 4 reel. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because I don't think every BCC soldier had to be on every song, though it worked pretty well. I swear, I'm gonna get my own little internet radio station to play real Hip-Hop like this for a couple hours a week.

Here We Come-5/5
Let's Go-3/5-Nothing new here
Yeah-4/5-threats over 90-something flavored beat
Hate All You Want- 3/5-Who can fail over that beat?!
Don't You Cross that Line-3/5-unremarkable
1,2,3-3/5-Not so exciting, but P rips it
Take A Look-3.75/5- reality rap
He Gave His Life-4/5-cold hook, passionate threats/story
Trading Places-5/5-BCC at their best
But the Game is...- 5/5- hard robbery track, irresistable beat
So Focused- 2.8/5- 2nd of two chick-targeted songs, a little limp.
Everybody-3/5-starts a little flat but picks up slightly
World Wide-5/5-tight
Soul Jah-5/5-Ride-out track

5 out of 5 stars BCC for life.......2006-12-26

If you've enjoyed heltah skeltah, buckshot, smif n wesson, and of course OGC...can't even buy "M-pire strikez back" cause it's out of print...In any case, theses guys are good as hell...and Buckshot got it on point...

can't take this CD outta my dash...it's hot...don't think just cop it..

5 out of 5 stars Lace up your boots!!!.......2006-11-21

These are the best rappers of all time! I remember being in US Army bootcamp with my OGC and Heltah Skeltah tapes hidden away from the Drill Sergeants as I listened to these guys spit some of the illest ryhmes ever. The whole military theme motivated me to continue my 6 years of service. So I'm glad they came back and dropped some real skillz in this commercial world of hip pop. Thx you Buckshot and all the BCC.

4 out of 5 stars My 2 cents.......2006-11-10

This album gets 4 stars in my book. I thought it was definately worth the buy but it's not as good as I thought it would be. I rated 4 stars more because this is the kind of Hip-Hop I grew up with and love and we need to see much more of it these days. Kids growing up now will unfortunately never know and understand what true Hip-Hop is thanks to the radio and it's brainwashing. Buy this album, support the real!

4 out of 5 stars BCC is back to teach the posers a lesson........2006-10-21

Sometimes you question why you follow certain groups in hip-hop; why you're dedicated to them through the thick and thin, and cop everything they release, or everything you can afford(in the case of the Wu-Tang Clan in the mid-nineties.. picking up their core 9 albums was a chore in itself, but with dozens of affiliates, it came down to picking the cream of the crop). Is it because of your undying loyalty to the group? Is it because they consistently release dope music? Is it because you've been mindwashed by a marketing strategy? Or are you simply a completist, who feels awkward owning a majority of a group's material, but missing some odd ends?

For me, in the case of the Boot Camp Clik, it's the second option. In the early nineties, you couldn't be a hip-hop head without owning Black Moon's Enta Da Stage, Smif-N-Wessun's Dah Shinin', Heltah Skeltah's Nocturnal, or O.G.C.'s Da Storm. All four of those Duckdown releases were underground staples, and some of the best albums to come out of that era of hip-hop. Unfortunately, when they dumped Da Beatminerz on their first official group album, For The People, their music really took a dive in terms of quality.

8 years after their initial falling off, and after a slew of mediocre releases later, the Boot Camp Clik returned in 2005 with a bang; perfectly represented by the extremely dope solo debut of Sean Price. While Buckshot's album with 9th Wonder and Smif-N-Wessun's releases were also essential in BCC's resurgence, Sean Price led the way in 2005, and in 2006, the group returned as a complete collective to release this fine effort here; Last Stand. Hopefully this isn't the last stand for BCC as a group, because this is most definitely their finest album as an entire 8-piece, and one of the best albums to come from the BCC as a whole.

The production on this album is strictly underground, and that's perfect for the Clik. 9th Wonder provides two standout tracks in "Take A Look(In The Mirror" and "Here We Come," while his effort on "So Focused" is also good, although not one of the better beats on the album. Pete Rock's "1-2-3" is everything you'd come to expect from Pete; just beautiful. Marco Polo's "He Gave His Life" sets a nice dramatic atmosphere, and the Large Prof's "World Wide" shows the Professor still has it; my favorite beat on the album, though, would have to be from Ken Ring and Rune Rotter on "Trading Places." It's unlike anything I've heard in awhile, and the production alone makes this my favorite track on the album.

Lyrically, the BCC is still one of the illest cliques you'll find in hip-hop. Sean Price, Buckshot, and Tek are absolutely dope on this album, while the rest of the members are dope as well, if not quite as spectacular. The chemistry that these eight men share is really unbelievable; never once do they sound awkward together, nor do they appear to be competing with eachother lyrically. They come together in perfect unity.

While it isn't a perfect release, BCC's album is definitely one of the strongest releases of the year, and a must for any true hip-hop head. Dope flows, dope beats, dope tracks; what more could you want?

2 out of 5 stars goodbye BCC, it's been nice.......2003-07-10

This isn't the BCC I Remember. This is some poppy, played out, might as well be fabolous, Jay Z or any other pop rap group out there. With the exception of Smif n Wesson you have 5 rappers who sound exactly the same as one another with mostly lame beats that could have been made for Nsync's crossover rap album. 1 or 2 good tracks, the rest is fluff. The BCC I remember was totally underground, hip hop to the core, rough and rugged with hardcore beats. This ain't it.

5 out of 5 stars They back.......2003-05-23

This is the best comeback of tha year this is a classic anoter good album from Boot Camp Click if you don't got just pick up.

5 out of 5 stars Hot Hot Hot.......2003-04-04

That's all I have to say about this album. I have all their previous albums but this album is a perfect blend of mixes and lyrics. It's really a shame that BCC will never get the recognition that they deserve. It's a rarity that you will get nothing but hot tracks through out the entire album. Now a days artists are comfortable with a 70% output but this album is 100%. If you like their previous tracks you'll definitely like this one. Do your ear's a favor and treat them to this album.

5 out of 5 stars BCC back with a triumphant return!!.......2003-03-13

From the first time I gave this album a spin, I was into it. By the time I was finished and the music was over, my head was still noddin' to the tracks I just heard. Especially the first song "And So", which displays a melodic gituar loop and thundering basline, a great way to begin a comeback album. For those who did no get a chance to hear any of Duckdown's music since For The People, it is like there wasn't even a layoff between albums. All of the MC's rep righteously on the album, especially Buck and Ruck. The beats are mad hot, with the Beatminerz leading the way. Other standouts on the album are the Alchemist produced Let's Get Down to Bizness, Ice Skate, the interestin Daddy Wanna, and the Beatminerz special Had it Up To Here. If you were into Duckdown's music in the 90's, then you will certainly love this joint. Best believe the BCC and Duckdown are here to stay, go get The Chosen Few and continue to support their work.

5 out of 5 stars Welcome to Bucktown, USA.......2002-12-17

The word that describes this album best is "Whoa." Dope beats, great lyricism from all the B. C. C. "The Chosen Few" is one of my favorite albums of 2002. Suggested tracks to check out are: All of 'em. This album is definately not for those that think clowns like Ja Rule or Nelly represent true hip hop. This album is real hip hop for real hip hop headz.

4 out of 5 stars A Full Clip Of BCC {4 Stars}.......2007-03-03

There really isn't much to say here. For those that don't know, as far as artists go, BCC consists of Heltah Skeltah, OGC, Black Moon, Smif N Wessun, The Representativz, Illa Noyz, and a few other fringe artists (like Rustee Juxx, for example). What we have here is basically a greatest hits compilation. If you're a fan of the BCC, then this is pretty much a no brainer. If not, then this isn't necessarily a bad place to start your path toward Boot Camp enlightenment. You have classics like "Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka", "Who Got The Props?", "Bucktown", and "Headz R Reddee, Pt. 2". I mean, come on. You can't front on the bangers on this album. Chances are, if you weren't familiar with BCC, you were still nodding to one of their gems in the 90's.

My only beef is that there are tracks that were hits that were left off --like Heltah Skeltah's "Therapy" for example.

Boot Camp Clik's Greatest Hits: Basic Training is pretty much a must have for anyone that doesn't have these songs already. If you own most of the BCC catalog, then there really isn't much reason to get this and that's why I only gave it 4 stars. Don't let that mislead you though. The material is definitely 5 star all the way. I recommend grabbing it if you don't already have this material.

Standout Tracks: No Fear (OGC), How Many Emcee's (Black Moon), Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka (Heltah Skeltah & OGC aka The Fab 5), Headz R Reddee, Pt. 2, I Ain't Havin' That (Healtah Skeltah feat. Starang) (My Favorite), Bucktown (Smif N' Wessun), Who Got The Props? (Black Moon), and Black Trump (Cocoa Brovaz feat. Raekwon)

5 out of 5 stars Gotcha open.......2005-07-03

This greatest hits is second only to Ganggstars full clip. If your new to the boot camp pick this up. If you think Meth's voice is ill way to you hear Heltah Skelta. To all my old skool cats you probably already got this cause you know real hip-hop.

4 out of 5 stars Boot camp clik.......2005-02-14

This is a tigth cd with some dope tracks by Black moon, Smif N wessun, OGC, Cocoa Brovaz, heltah Skeltah and some others. The best tracks are "Sound Bwoy Burriel" "Who Got Da props" "Bucktown" and "I aint havin that" overall this is sick and you should get it

4 out of 5 stars What it says- This album is Basic Training in tha Boot Camp .......2005-01-26

This is a good hip-hop greatest hits album made by one of the best crews ever to rip the mic. If you are just discovering the BCC (Boot Camp Click), this album is what the title says: "Basic Training" for ya. If you are familiar with the BCC and don't have most of the solo albums, this is a good compilation to give you 13 bangin' tracks to nod ya head to. The BCC groups on this album are: Black Moon-(Buckshot & Evil Dee), Smif-n-Wessun aka Cocoa Brovaz-(Tek & Steele), the now defunct Heltah Skeltah-(Ruck & Rock), and O.G.C.-(Starang Wondah, Louieville Sluggah, & Top Dog). The 4 Black Moon tracks are classic, and the "I Got Cha Opin [Remix]" isn't on their album. The 3 Heltah Skeltah tracks are also incredible, "Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka" is my fav. on the CD. Smif-n-Wessun has 3 tracks, "Sound Bwoy Bureill" being my 2nd fav. on the CD. "Black Trump" f/ Raekwon is also a sick song. O.G.C. throws in 2 tracks, 1 from each of their albums, with each song having a different style. I like them both. Finally "Headz Are Reddee, Pt. 2" includes almost the whole click, and is a masterpiece. Good introduction album for newbies, and solid comp. for those without all the solo albums.

4 out of 5 stars WHY ISN'T THERE BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM??!!.......2001-11-28

I don't understand why Black Moon does not release their spectacular track "Reality (Killing Every...)" on their compilations. In my mind, this is their best work and I think this is my favorite track that they ever made and it is too, too bad it was only released on the "I got cha opin" 12" inch single. What a smooth beat, what nice rhymes. It makes me go crazy everytime they drop a compilation that this song is not on the album and it hasn't gotten too much exposure either or else people would be feeling what I'm feeling. IF BUCKSHOT SHORTY OR ANYONE FROM BLACK MOON IS OUT THERE AND READING THIS, PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT I AM SAYING TO YOU: GO TO NERVOUS RECORDS AND DEMAND THEM TO RELEASE THIS ON THE NEXT COMPILATION ALBUM BECAUSE YOU KNOW AND I KNOW THIS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE TRACKS. I tried contacting Nervous, but they gave me the corporate run around. If you haven't heard this track, I HIGHLY advise that you seek it out and do, download it or buy the 12" inch if you can find it until God wakes Nervous and Black Moon's attention to this. By the way, I'm not taking anything away from the other tracks on this album because it's a powerful compilation, but it's missing a major link...God save us!

3 out of 5 stars For True Fans.......2005-04-06

Members Cocoa Brovaz (Smif-N-Wessun), Heltah Skeltah, O.G.C., Representativz and others led by B.D.I. (Buckshot) to bring hip-hop back. A major element that's missing from this release is the production of the Beatminers. The slow grooving jam "Night Riders" crept unexpectedly to a favoriate tune. The solo song for Louieville Sluggah of O.G.C. titled "The Dugout" is laced with a xylophone and a one, two kick. As simple as it is Louieville made a base hit with this one. "Illa Noyz" performed by Illa Noyz and Heltah Skeltah, could have been better without that hook, but they did thier part in bringing this release a fresh voice. The production is filled with a more live feel that maybe stripped it of its potency, yet titles like "Rag Time" is a jazzy/soulful jam where we get to hear Buckshot flow.

3 out of 5 stars This cd is by NO means whack!.......2005-03-17

Alright, simple and plain...the greatest cd that the B.C.C crew came out with was "Angels of Death" by Representativz. The Representativz came out tight on their cd but all of the other B.C.C's came out lacking production on their albums. This CD came out pretty tight though because it reveals EVERYONE who was originally on the B.C.C and gave them a chance to shine. Every single song on here OTHER THAN number 5,6, & 7 had some tight beatz, tight lyrical hooks, and tight production. Only warning i have for anyone who listens to this cd for the first time is...STAY AWAY FROM TRACKS 5,6, AND 7!! PLEASE!!....N-e-wayz...y'all enjoy this cd. And cop that angels of death CD. AND I'M OUT.:-D

4 out of 5 stars sample all this.......2004-08-27

Overall B.C.C. puts out a very good album. The 1st 2 songs are intro's, with the 3rd being the album breakthrough with a chillin song to start off with. The 4th ("Headz Are Reddee Pt.2") song is a good mixture of piano, inhalation of smoke, and bass with lryics straight from the heart of Brooklyn, callin out the East Coast underground to elevate. The tracks from 4 to 9 are overall good, but 10("Rugged Terrain") adds a reggae type of beat and vocals, as B.C.C. combines their lyrical flow into the reggae mix. Track 11 ("The Dugout") starts off with a very chillin metal drum beat, with a couple phone call messages for B.C.C.; the group opens up lyrically with talk of struggle in this world for other battlers, either on the mic, passing by, or for B.C.C. themselves. Track 12 ("Go For Yours") has a great beat for an upbeat stroll down Central Park, while thinking of writing poetry as B.C.C.-"mentally you can't function, physically you're dead with the push of this button, explosions keep eruptin'...." etc., etc.

Overall, O.G.C., Heltah Skeltah, Boot Camp Clik, and Smif-N-Wessun put together a very good underground hip-hop album. I recommend this album to any tru hip-hop listenas!!

5 out of 5 stars Real Hip Hop.......2003-02-13

This album clearly demonstrates what HIP HOP is all about. No stolen beats, no wack lyrics about f**in Bentley's and Platinum. If you didn't like this album, sorry it couldn't have been more PUFFY. Give it a few listens and then rate it, I think this is as good as Hip Hop gets and ranks with all other BCC material.

2 out of 5 stars Just forget this album ever happened.......2002-11-28

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this album. None of the Clik shined as bright as they did when they were on their own albums. There were no kind of hip-hop quotables or hard beats, only some R&B-inspired production or "safe-sounding" hip-hop beats. I won't waste much time with this, because two reasons alone will tell true hip-hop heads why this album is bad: 1.) Da Beatminerz didn't produce anything on here, and 2.) the best rappers, Heltah Skeltah, were only on two or three tracks. 'Nuff said.

'Nuff said.

These young cats have mega talent. And just think when this album dropped, they were 7 and 9 years old. There first release was on the Mean Green album that came out in 97. My favorite songs are "Mama need a new blouse" and "Chipped out Tank". A must buy if your a hip-hop fan. They are coming out with a new album sometime next year. I'm feelin these young cats.
