I am such a freestyle freak! Growing up in NYC, it was just what you listened to. The music just brings you back to the club scene from the late 80's & early 90's. I loved the song selection on the CD, BUT>> the transition in between songs was a bit overwelming. That would be the only reason why I wouldn't put it on at a party. The songs in itself are so much fun and exciting to listen to. There is no need for all the remixing & scratching before each song, because it takes away from the CD and the music which is what it's all about. Thats my only down note about it because the CD is great!!! I have the entire collection. The music took me back to when I was a teenager hanging out at the clubs in NYC & (the boogie down Bronx) with my friends. I think it's so cool that my kids know now what Mommy's music sounds like from the 80's!Thank you :)

This CD is great! It's not filled with the same songs that are on every Freestyle CD. You'll know & love every song - I dare you to not dance & sing like crazy to this one! Bad Boy Joe is obviously the best freestyle dj around.

Bright Boy Joe.......2003-06-26

A good compilation of classic freestyle songs from the "do you remeber the late 80's and early 90's" time period as the announcer puts it on the first track. Bad Boy Joe does an excellent job mixing the songs to flow together from one track to the next and picks the key parts of every song to actually replay as beats. All the songs are common and can be heard on ktu or any station playing freestyle. My only complaint is that I wouldn't consider these the 2nd best set of songs ever in freestyle.The songs are good, but some I think could have been saved for later volumes, but that is an issue in preference I guess. I would def recommend this for any serious freestlye fan b/c it puts good songs all in one place that are just keep flowing when played.

VOLUME 5 AND THE BEATS DON'T STOP.......2004-10-03

This cd only proves how strong freestyle is. This is the fifth volume and the songs are still excellent. There are no fillers on this album. Every song on disc 1 was a genuine hit. TKA and George Lamond rule this cd of course with songs of theirs that might be the best of each ever. The mixes are well done, everything flows like usual. I especially like "Arabian Nights". I can't find that anywhere and it is finally here. All and all this is the 5th perfect cd out there (after Bad Boy Joe's first 4 freestyle albums).

I cannot believe it...but Bad Boy Joe's Freestyle Megamix Vol.5 is definitely my absolutely favorite in this entire series! It's packed with incredible hits from some of the hottest freestyle legends like Lisa Lisa, The Latin Rascals, Sweet Sensation, George LaMond, TKA and one of my most loved..and hard-to-find club hits..."Dancing On The Fire" by India.

If you're a freestyle fan...don't miss this one. You'll be playing it for weeks, non-stop, like me. 20 Stars! Bad Boy Joe.

Stevie B's Greatest Hits - Take Two.......2005-05-23

I was a little surprised to see a second volume of "greatest hits" released for Stevie B. After all, between "The Best of Stevie B" and "Greatest Hits Volume 1", much of Stevie's best older and newer material had been cataloged.

Alas, if you read the blurb in this volume, fans demanded more and the record company, seeing dollar signs in their eyes, complied with the fans wishes. :D

As a whole, this compliation is ok. My favorites are "Funky Melody", "Come With Me", "Girl I Love You", "I'm Not Crazy", "If You Still Love Me", and "Since You've Been Gone Away".

The rest of the older songs are decent but didn't capture my attention. The three song remixes (Dream of You, Because I Love You, and Love Me For Life) were also not my favorites either.

The "People's Megamix" track was decent if unspectacular compliation of Stevie's best songs.

However, for fans of Stevie's music, this collection may contain some songs that weren't present in the other collections. While this album didn't contain a ton of stuff I loved, it was still good enough for 4 stars.

Freestyle Heaven.......2004-12-14

I was very excited to see this release after buying volume1 which had some incredible mixes of Stevie's best songs although I thought there were a few missing - After listening to this comp I found that all the tracks I was missing were here. A very nice companion piece to Volume 1. If you love freestyle, it doesn't get any better than this!!

For any freestyle listener this is maybe one of the best volumes in the series by tazmania,. a must have with these great classic hits. Even if you only like a few of the songs it's still well worth having this great cd.

"THE RETURN" HITS HARD............2000-02-22

16 tracks in total.....all 16 are mint! PURE PLEAZURE is incredible. "Hold Me in the Dark" is a fast paced hard-hitting song. PURE PLEAZURE teams up with DENISHA on another fantastic track called "In and Out of Love". SAMMY C's "If You Wanted to Love Me" is beautiful...this guy can sing so check him out ladies. STEFANIE BENNETT is on this comp with "I Sould Have Known"...and I should have known she would blow me away with this track! MICHAEL ANTHONY, JOE ZANGIE, and KATJA are on this one aswell. TAZ's #2 is a freestyle masterpiece. What's a 5 star rating when this one deserves a 10!

I can play my cd on all my computers and i always work out to the beats ( on my Ipod) if you cant copy to your ipod buy IT on line like i did the mix is sick !!!!

PC Copy Protection........2006-08-04

If you plan on buying this CD and putting it on you iPod, forget it!!! Beware when you purchase this CD as it has copy protection on it to keep you from playing it on computers. (Bad for us that what to put it on our iPods!!!)

Tried to play the CD on my computers at home (Dell XPS 4th Gen, Dell XPS 400 and HP Pavilion laptop) and none of them would play the CD. The computer at work (don't know what model but it's a Dell with WIN 2000 Pro) and it won't play the first track but would play the rest of the CD. It look like the copy protection is only good on newer computers/software.

A decent assortment of song's but not with any length.
The earlier volume's in this series are a better choice. It takes time to find what to like because there are so many different choices.Be patient and read the reviews because we all do and try and reach out to help one another in explaining as best we could . I haven't purchased this yet but after seeing the song titles and reading all the great comments, I've made up my mind!! The song titles flashed a wave of GREAT memories for me. I am a native South Floridian and a clubber back when these songs were out and I loved that time.
I won't be able to make the Freestyle Explosion concert in Miami, FL on Oct 20 but buying this collection is the next best thing for me.
I cannot wait to listen to all of it!!!!

For anyone who partied and danced from 1987 to 1994.......2006-09-12

This is by far the best collection out there with freestyle dance music. I have had it for years and it is the only thing that gets me up and running on my treadmill which at 32yrs old, is much needed. It is a great blast from the past - going to the clubs and dancin and partying all night in Philly. Reminds me of the good ole days!! If you get every volume there are only a few songs missing. Most are there and it will really take you back. Highly recommend for the early 90's East Coast clubbers!!

"A DIE HARD FREESTYLE FAN".......2005-01-12

Hello everyone! I grew up with freestyle along with the electonic/dance pop/industrial O' the day genres of music; but freestyle music held a profound, deep corner in my heart. I think it was it's unique sound and pensive lyrics that attracted it to me. Most of the songs dealt with wanting to party your ass off or when both sexes were tryin' to get their love lives staightened out. A characteristic of a freestyle song was that it made you feel emotion and that each song had that uniqueness(I'm talking about the earlier better freestyle/club songs that are showcased on these compilations).
I just turned 32 y/o last Dec. 2004, so let's do the math; that I would've been around 14-15 y/o, when freestyle music was gaining attention(now don't you guys laugh). By the peak of freestyle('round 1991), I was a senior in highschool- 17 y/o,
freestyle was standing on it's last limbs and so be very fortunate that you've stumbled upon a collection of the greatest freestyle dance classics; 'cause after 1992 freestyle officially died! I mean their was freesyle still but just not as good. The times were changing, people's tastes were changing- even with dance music or any type of music for that matter. I could go on & on about this; so I strongly recommend this-plus TOMMYBOY RECORDS took alot of time to put this together. I just noticed a volume #'s 9 and 10 which I plan on purchasing even though I have the majority of these songs in some shape/form or another(c.d. and/or vinyl). O.K. folks, I'm gonna leave you with my top 10 list of freestyle songs(from my personal top 100 list which I'll print out somewhere at a later date). I want to thank all freestyle writers/producers and artists for the impact you left on me and when listen to these songs I'm still moved and motivated to pursue my singing- again THANKS!
