Toby Keith has never been shy, but on Unleashed the Oklahoman proves he has more in common with Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams Jr. than you might have thought. The headline-making hit single "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American)" will either impress you as a piece of jingoistic hooey or rally your fighting blood with its images ("the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist") of patriotic retaliation. The "eye for an eye" mood continues on "Beer for My Horses," a frontier-justice saga on which Willie Nelson duets. But after that, things start falling into the usual formula: a killer pop ballad ("Rock You Baby"), some smart-ass sexual grandstanding ("Who's Your Daddy"), and a few midtempo ruminations on life and love that catch the ear but ultimately prove forgettable. By the time he gets to "It Works for Me," in which Keith celebrates the virtues of country living ("If it's so good in the city / Why don't anybody smile?"), you'll swear it's a Bocephus CD in your player. Oh, you rowdy boys! --Alanna Nash

5 out of 5 stars awesome .......2007-06-25

I will go also like to say i was not a great toby kieth fan . But he knows how to put accross a message .And that angry american song is so right .It should have been the song of the yr . As a song writer he is up there with the king of song writers HANK JR .But oh my he must stay true to form and an artist above the fringe for about 25 yrs to be in the shoes of hank jr .When george jones sang who s going to fill thier shoes . My question was who s going to fill hank jr s shoes . This is why he may have lost about 100 fans and picked up about 1;000;000 for his speaking the truth in songs .

4 out of 5 stars A good CD.......2007-03-07

I really enjoyed this album. I really have not been much of a Toby Keith fan but this is a fantastic collection of songs

5 out of 5 stars Great.......2006-11-04

Once again it is a wonderful CD by Toby Keith. I love his music, he
really speaks to me in some of his songs.

5 out of 5 stars Confident and fun.......2006-11-04

Normally I prefer works by female artists, but these guys are pure fun. The combination of songs: "Courtesy of the Red, White, And Blue" and the duet with Willie Nelson "Beer For My Horses" are Toby and Willie's "sobering" statement to stand strong for "righting the wrongs" in society. The weighty beginning to each refrain twists into an upward lilting, energetic and confident response.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific twang and tunes!.......2006-09-10

Wow what a brilliant album, with plenty of variety, superb lyrics and great tunes throughout. It kicks off on a high note with the angry Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue which is followed by the catchy Who's Your Daddy with its wry lyric and rollocking beat. Next up is a song in Mariachi style, the lilting Good To Go To Mexico, one of the highlights on this great album.

It's All Good is a slower, soulful love song with poetic lyrics like "covered in kises, surrounded by love, showered with blessings from up above." Beer For My Horses, the duet with Willie Nelson, is another excellent country song infused with rock power and an anthemic chorus. Losing My Touch is a sad mid-tempo break-up tale with gripping guitar twangs, whilst Huckleberry is a moving story song, also slow and tender.

The up-tempo It Works For Me is a powerful affirmation with a singalong chorus, Ain't It Just like You is another song of love lost, and Rock You Baby an intense and passionate love ballad. The evocative and melancholy tale of the highways Rodeo Moon is followed by That's Not How It Is, a love song with plenty of tempo variation and soulful instrumentation.

The album concludes with a live spoken introduction to the aforementioned first track. The music may sound like country overall but there's a fierce rock attitude. Toby Keith is a gifted and original wordsmith and the melodies are first class. Unleashed is a masterpiece of twelve memorable songs.

Album Description

Italian six-piece Lacuna Coil are one of the hardest working & rapidly progressing gothic metal outfit of our times. Their dual-vocal approach featuring the heavenly voice of Cristina Scabbia juxtaposed with the harsh style of Andrea Ferro will appeal to fans of The Gathering, Theatre Of Tragedy & Nightwish. Unleashed Memories also includes last year's mini-CD, 'Halflife', as a bonus. Bonus tracks, 'Halflife', 'Trance Awake', 'Senzafine', 'Hyperfast', & 'Stars'. Century Media. 2001.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This cd is AMAZING! .......2007-06-07

This is Lacuna Coil's best cd. The newer fans that discovered them from Comalies and Karmacode wont appreciate this cd. This cd isnt as polished and radio friendly as their newer cds. Cristina's voice is soo powerful and her lyrics pierce your soul. All the choruses are soo full of emotion. Not a single bad song on this cd. My favorites are: To Live is to Hide, Cold Heritage, Distant Sun, 1.19, Wave of Anguish, Half Life, and Stars. This cd needs multiple listens in order for it to fully grab you.

3 out of 5 stars Great Vocals with Metal- Note Worthy Band.......2007-05-23

If you like Evanescence, and female led metal, then you will probably like Lacuna Coil. I stumbled on this band on an internet radio site featuring metal bands, and was immediately interested. I ordered Unleashed Memories the same day and just finished listening it to twice through. I generally believe you should listen a few times before writing a review, but this album immediately strikes you.

This band has much of what I love in rock music, metal with strong and varied vocals, infused electronica and lots of tempo changes. There are 2 vocalists on this album, and although there isn't much overlapping of the 2 voices, they can be heard at times together complimenting each other. Why more bands don't use multiple overlapping vocals, I don't know, but this is what makes this band special. 3 stars only because I think some of the rhythms could be just a bit more interesting and varied and I just didn't get enough of the heavy metal sounds. There really is nothing groundbreaking here. The vocals are also a bit too blended for my taste, Cristina's voice, although beautiful has a new agey quality and almost sounds like Enya fronting a rock band.

Most of the tracks have metal influences, but there isn't very much of the heavy thrashing guitar riffs. Some might find this more attractive because the pummeling sounds tend to drown out Cristina's beautiful voice. I personally would appreciate more metal in what is being labeled a power metal band, and a bit less of the harmonious vocals and symphonic ambient sounds that pervade some of the tracks. Don't let me mislead you here, this album is not soft rock, it is edgier and you probably need to be a hard rock fan to really enjoy it.

Note there are 15 tracks on this CD if you have the version with the bonus EP tracks. "Sensafine" is repeated in the EP additions and both tracks are in Italian and is one of the better songs as the 2 vocals are more integrated with the guitar riffs. All of the remaining tracks are in English. Track 2, "To Live is to Hide" features both vocalists with some overlap and it's the kind of song you might expect to hear on mainstream radio. Track 5, "When a Dead Man Walks"' seems to be an attempt at stronger rock, but again the vocal harmonies sound at times like Abba. Even the male vocals are too watered down to make a believable metal song. In track 6 "1.19", Andrea the male vocalist, gets in some screaming and harsher vocals but they are short lived. This is however one of the heavier tracks and has a nice guitar section about midway through.

I will purchase their 2006 album Karmacode, which actually gets a better review on [...]. This CD is good to have in your collection, but not one of those albums that you can listen too a hundred times and just keep wanting more.

2 out of 5 stars For fans only.......2007-04-02

Not much hit material here even if you get the extended version with
the halflife ep included. Check it out if you can get it cheap and
are a completist

1 out of 5 stars Not too good..........2007-03-02

I'm bemused as to why almost everyone put a good review on this CD. Cristina's vocals are probably the worst I've heard in any other LC album. Most of the time it just sounds like she wants to get the damn CD over with. The lyrics are ridiculous in some spots, such as when Cristina sings the line "I'm a loser" five monontonous times, and just the overall album doesn't vary much at all. All the songs sound alike. This album let me down.

While Judas Priest's first three Columbia albums displayed a band that seemed musically restless and a bit wary of becoming just another rock caricature, their first official live album offers up a strong distillation of the musical sense that informed those records (along with earlier material from Sad Wings of Destiny) and is a testament to their KK Dowling/Glen Tipton fueled twin-guitar fury. The fact that vocalist Rob Halford's tracks (allegedly damaged in the recording process) were later replaced in the studio has long been a bone of contention to purists (though hardly an unusual practice in the industry), but fresh ears may find the "problem" actually resulted in a better-sounding record. More gratifying, the original album's manic sensibility has been amped even further by the inclusion of four key live, previously unreleased bonus tracks--"Rock Forever," "Delivering the Goods," "Hell Bent for Leather," and "Starbreaker." This digitally remastered edition also features new notes by the band and expanded artwork. This is Judas Priest's early arena rock at its over-the-top best: big, loud, and wholly unapologetic. --Jerry McCulley

5 out of 5 stars Good God......pluck me!.......2007-05-18

In 1979, there was no band heavier than Judas Priest! Motorhead and AC/DC were worthy contenders, but only Lemmy's boys came close to ripping your head off like Priest at the end of the '70's. A live testament is usually a metal bands claim to faim and the boys produced a whopper in 'Unleashed in the East' in October of said year. In many ways, this record was the ultimate greatest hits package as classics from 'Sad Wings' ran alongside the best of their Columbia Records years to date. "Sinner" is long, gothic and majestic, possibly KK Downing's best moment on record. "Exciter" roars out of the gates and "The Ripper" is a full frontal assault on the senses. "Green Manalishi" was a Peter Green's Mac blues tune but with added metallic power and here it blows away both the Mac's and Priest's own studio version. "Tyrant" was a fantastic way to end the original album but my one quibble would be that with all of the classics from 'Sad Wings' (cept for "Ripper" which is flawless)and especially "Victim of Changes" (my all-time favorite by Priest!), the tempo is too fast. I appreciate the studio cuts more which had a classic Sabbathesque feel, but again it is a minor quibble. Also, one song from 'Stained Class', a album many consider to be the Metal Gods finest hour in the studio, is not enough. Bonus cuts are for once in this terrible remasters series (with the bonus songs that is) an absolute must as each song is special and perfectly chosen (special nod to "Delivering the Goods" and of course "Hell Bent for Leather", to of my all timers). As to what ever doctoring the band did to this record before release....who gives a crap! Mention any great live record of the last thirty plus years and chances are they have significant overdubs! Halford rerecorded his vocals? God bless him! That what makes Priest so great and on a winter night in Japan, they melted some faces!

5 out of 5 stars A Masterful & Influential Piece of Live Power.......2007-04-03

Easily the most influential and essential live metal album ever, this masterpiece was recorded on February 10th & February 15th , 1979 (the day and year I was born) in front of a energetic Japanese audience. Some controversy exists as to whether this is a true live recording or not. Personally, I don't care. It has a great song selection (although tracks from Stained Class are, unfortunately, limited to only "Exciter") and great sound. A hell of a good introduction to the Priest. The 2001 remaster features four live tracks from the same shows that were not released on the original album.

4 out of 5 stars A Must For Judas Priest Fans.......2007-01-28

I already owned or taped all of Judas Priest's studio albums when this came out, questioning its necessity, but the recording technology of this album was immensely improved over the sound quality of the earlier albums. I didn't know until recently that some tracks were redone in the studio, which might partly explain why the album sounds so crisp, but Judas Priest was also at their peak musically at this time, 1979, so redoing any songs and having them sound better would make sense. I would recommend this album over JP's three first studio albums, Rocka Rolla, Sad Wings of Destiny, and Sin After Sin, as the most relevant songs are here and sound better. For redoing songs in the studio, there are still screwups like the intro from Rob Halford on The Sinner sounds like he saying "The Savage", at least it does on the album I own.

This is still 70's metal, so for those that find music recorded from that time dated or just hate it, will feel the same about this album. But for those that like 70's hard rock and/or Judas Priest, this is a classic!

5 out of 5 stars The Perfect Heavy Metal Live Album.......2006-09-02

I got the vinyl album when I was 16. I ve now this REMASTERED CD. It s better than the original, for sure. I cannot believe Rob did an amazing performance like this! This is a Classic. If you don t like this album, I m not sure you really like Metal. My Playlist includes bands like Vile, Mayhem, Iron Maiden, Helloween, Old Sepultura s*it, Napalm Death, etc But THIS album is necessary, is an essential. The first Heavy Metal Live album. It s in the same (and above)level of Rust in Peace (Megadeth), And Justice for All (Metallica), Reign in Blood (Slayer), The Number of the Beast (Maiden). You cannot be a Metalhead withou this one. You don t have it? What s going on with You?? Get it!! Now!!!!! ;)

5 out of 5 stars 10 stars....as least.......2006-08-17

The Setlist, The Production, and especially the performance can't get any better... This was the 1st Priest Album I bought over 25 years ago and I have never grown tired of it. Unleashed in the East is ... an alltime classic!

4 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack but I've got one question...........2006-08-08

Great movie score, love the music. There is the beginning of a famous song being played during the scene where victoria sits next to Danny and begins showing him how to play the piano, she plays only a few notes along with his assistance. I can't think of the composer. It's obviously not in the soundtrack.

Thanks

eureka... the song playing throughout the majority of the 'unleashed' trailer is found on the 'being john malkovich' soundtrack. i believe the original version is called 'craig's overture' (track 15), but there are many other remixes (tracks 2,3,8,20).

3 out of 5 stars Good for collectors.......2007-07-08

This is not Howard Shore and no-one should think it is, however I found it a nice addition to my LOTR music collection. I have all the Shore music and it is outstanding - this is interesting, nowhere near as good, but very nice nonetheless. I especially like the soprano Charlotte Kinder on this CD and I would recommend it just for her contribution in some ways I prefer her to Renee Fleming, but that is of course a subjective statement. The other female singer is ok, but nothing special compared to the originals.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty Good.......2007-03-30

I had real high hopes for the soundtrack cause the movies ROCKED!!! This was a disappointment cause the vocal version of "Into the West" "sucked" cause the lady sounded like she lost her voice an faded in an out. They should have gotten Enya to do the vocals or AT LEAST the Into the West cause the ldy that sung it made the volume "suck" when I thought it would have a BIG finish but instead it had a BIG disappiontment!!!

2 out of 5 stars Buyer beware.......2006-09-01

Just be sure to read up on this closely... it's not the orchestra you hear in the movie, and you may be especially disappointed when you hear the vocal tracts - gone are great talents Enya and Annie Lennox, replaced by no-name voices. This is not BAD music, but don't think you're a genius for capturing the music of the movies on one inexpensive 2-CD set.

4 out of 5 stars Worth It.......2006-03-30

Howard Shore's scores to the three Lord of the Rings movies are a classical masterpiece in their own right, and as such I don't mind hearing them played by a different orchestra. While I prefer the originals on the whole, this set has some very nice things to recommend it. The best part is that you get instrumental renditions of the end credits song from each film. My favorite is "Into the West," from The Return of the King, with a cello replacing Annie Lennox's vocal performance. I really disliked Lennox's ugly, popified performance of the song, but I thought that the melody and orchestration were gorgeous, so I could not be more delighted to hear the song performed by a cello, with all original orchestration intact. That one track is worth $20 to me.

5 out of 5 stars This Collection Captures the Lord of the Rings Aura.......2006-01-27

From the song titled "Concerning the Hobbits" which is lighthearted and cheerful, to "The Bridge of Khazad Dum" with it's intense shadowy drums and chants this collection of The Lord of the Rings trilogy's music ensues the essence of all three movies. My favorites are included along with some new added bonus favorites now. "May It Be," "Into the West," and "The Riders of Rohan." The vocals are absolutely beautiful in some of the songs with soothing women's voices that just glide along as if riding the wind of white cottony cloud. The only down side to the CD's that I found dissapointing was that the last three songs, not being sung by the original artists, don't quite rest as well with the soul as the original's, yet are still very beautifully executed. I have listened to them over and over again even as they are different artists. I highly recomend this soundtrack compelation to anyone who enjoy's the Lord of The Rings Movie's Music.

As the mother of a 5 yr old DD, I have to say that when we find a movie she loves, well...she loves it lots. Scooby-Doo 2 is no exception. I would not say this is one of the best flicks for the parents in the group, but if you are tired of watching Nickelodeon (like me), give this movie a try. We love it in our house. The plot is good, the music great and the kids love Scooby-Doo. They also like seeing the "real people" instead of the animated characters. While some young ones may find some aspects of this move somewhat scary, I think most kids will find it funny rather than frightening. Definitely worth the purchase if you have a movie loving kid and are trying to find something different to watch.

1 out of 5 stars Missing song.......2007-03-01

Hmmm there are couple of songs that are missing from this album. I knew "The Way" and the rest and I give this star 1 because there are couple of songs missing out of the album. Dont you guys hate that?!?! UGHHH!!!

3 out of 5 stars The Song everyone is looking for.......2006-06-29

The song played when the gang is going back to the swamp is CIRCLE BACKWARD. There is also another song called MONSTERS played while they are in there working on the control panel. I think the same group sings both songs.

3 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars.......2005-05-07

Shadows in the Deep itself is not all that good. But if you can get the new one that has across the Open sea,I would.Across the open Sea is a much better album in my opinion, both song-structure and soundwise.Yet it seems to be overlooked. However,I'm a collector,so I must have Shadows in the Deep.If anything it does have a unique sound, especially for it's '92 release.I love Johnny Hedlunds vocals! So I give this double-album 3.5 stars, mostly for Across the Open Sea.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Death Metal Album........2003-11-03

I have the original. ROCK ON! Though I never listened to any of their other albums, this ranks as one of the biggest ass-kicking albums I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. SO RISE, IMMORTALS, WITH POWER, FROM HELL, WE MARCH!!!

4 out of 5 stars Where Is It????.......2002-09-21

You'd be surprised how often I find myself wondering where I put my copy of Unleashed's Shadows In the Deep. Is it at my parents' house in Virginia? Did my sister's ex-boyfriend borrow it? Did I lose it? I just can't remember and it's getting more and more frustrating. There's only so much enjoyment I can derive from listening to the 30-second free samples ...

Back when I knew where it was, this CD never failed to get me hyper when I put it on at 4 in the morning. To paraphrase another reviewer, this is the party death metal album. I have no idea what Johnny Hedlund is barking about most of the time, but it sure puts you in the mood to bounce off the walls. Try the surging "Immortals" for instance. It kind of sounds like the extra bonus track you never heard from Motley Crue's Shout At the Devil album with Max Cavalera on vocals instead of Vince Neil. By the time, you get ten seconds into "Shadows in the Deep", I dare you to stay seated. This is first-class death metal, simple and straightforward. "Countesssss Bath-oreeeeaaaahh". Yeah, this good stuff. The music is great and accompanied by some of the better vocals in death metal (though the message can be offensive at times assuming you are able discern some of it).

No, they weren't in the class of early Entombed or At the Gates in terms of technical proficiency, but I have to imagine Unleashed provided the soundtrack for partying Swedish death metalheads for much of the early to mid 90s. If you are a long-time student of Swedish death metal, you've already got it. However, if you're just beginning your research or arrived on the scene a little late (nothing wrong with that), you could do a lot worse than to start your collection with Shadows in the Deep. Now, if I could only find my copy...

5 out of 5 stars "So hail..behold...the old man." That song is not here.........2000-06-07

Early Unleashed, as heard here, was heavier, before they changed more into the AC/DC/Manowar of death metal. I have 5 Unleashed albums including this one and my favourite would be Warrior, try to find it, it is the boom digguhtea, hah. Unleashed has all the vital elements a Norweigan metal band would need: loud music, clever if unintentionally funny lyrics: ("Are you a man or a mouse, junkie"), and a scary blonde lead singer/bassist whose is much taller than the rest of the band named Johnny. The party death metal band....and the main strength of this album is the title song, Shadows in the Deep....But anyway buy the album...DEATH METAL VICTORY!

5 out of 5 stars Nor is it Shadows of the Deep, but Shadows IN the Deep.......1999-11-21

BTW, this album is very good, as are all there albums. Pick any one you want and you won't be disappointed!

Album Description

One of the all-time great death metal bands has returned! Midvinterblot is the SPV debut for Sweden's Unleashed and is truly the strongest effort of their storied career. While most bands in the death metal genre are content to simply blast away into oblivion, Unleashed meld extremity with well-played, memorable riffs and lyrics, always with their trademark Viking theme. Midvinterblot is a 15-track barnstormer that crushes the unwary listener with catchy choruses and an unmatched balance of brutality and accessibility. This album is positioned to become one of the very best death metal releases in recent memory and the world shall soon be reminded why Unleashed have earned themselves the title of "The Motörhead of Death Metal". They're just that good!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars now, this is metal!.......2007-05-19

Unleashed is everything a metal band should be. guitars and guitar solos, bass and drums. I hope more metal bands like this come out. Unleashed has the flashiest solos of all the metal bands. this may be one of the bands that influenced Demiricous to get together. the only thing I don't like about this album is the anti-Christian message in two of its songs. I would have given it 4 stars, but the musicianship warrants it 5 stars.

4 out of 5 stars Viking Death Metal........2007-05-13

"Blood Of Lies" opens the album with a promising, blistering explosion crammed with excellent guitar interplay and loads of blastbeats; and if that doesn't amp you up then "This Is Our World Now" will throttle you into submission with grooving riffs that induce heart-felt headbanging. As good as the guitar work is, there is no escaping the cheese at the center of the otherwise solid "We Must Join With Him" which uses lyrics with references to "The Lord Of The Rings". Not again! Blind Guardian beat that dead horse into a bloody pulp years ago! The title song is an accentuated version of the words "Midwinter Blood", for those interested in where the title originated. For all its parts the sound of this album comes across as a Death Metal incarnation of Usurper (unashamed worshippers of Celtic Frost), and has much more groove than most Death Metal but is furiously unafraid of blastbeat speed. "Triumph of Genocide" is a superb example of this fearless charge as the myriad tempo shifts left me feeling energized! However, with lyrics such as "Odin...hear my call!" it can be slightly difficult to take what is being sung seriously. Yet there is also one of the most provocative lines I've heard in quite some time on "Salvation for Mandkind", which in all honesty I doubt I would be allowed to write here. It isn't until "Psycho Killer" arrives that I was actually becoming a little bored with the repetitive blastbeat sections and obligatory lead guitar flourishes. "The Witch" shifts gears to a more mid-tempo attack as "I Have Sworn Allegiance" speeds things up once more before a fairly interesting bridge saves the song from floundering altogether. I believe these last three songs to be a touch of filler, though not bad in any way really, they simply do not match the exceptional beginning tracks for overall creativity. "Age of the Warrior" has a repetitive chorus that keeps it from being great, as well. Of course, all this is forgotten as "New Dawn Rising" caves in your skull with a fantastic opening riff and an outstanding down-shift in tempo before revising the original riff in all its glory to end the song. A great track! "Loyalty and Pride" reminds me once again of a speedier version of Usurper, particularly with the vocal delivery. "Valhalla Awaits" has yet another grooving riff that manages to be both catchy and interesting to hear, and is a good way to end the album. As this release has 15 tracks even a few mediocre songs shouldn't discourage a would-be buyer as there are a solid 10 songs here that I would recommend checking out, regardless. Running time: (46:27)

1. BLOOD OF LIES (2:39)

5 out of 5 stars Death Metal is BACK!!!!!.......2007-03-09

Phenomenal album by all artistic and professional standarts.
Vocals: 5 star! - true raunchiness, power and low rythm yet perfectly legible. More so than any other death metal band I remember.
Drums: 5 star! - it is quite possible to compare Anders Schultz to any drummer in music (not only heavy music) and he is in a league where few mortals have attained status. Anders is a rare mix of mega talent and love for the work.
Guitars and sound: 5 star! - the sound quality, clarity and energy are off the scale. I cannot remember another Death Metal band with a sound so pristine it makes me think I want to hear the compositions in classical version (something like ApocalypticA). The guys are simply perfect.

Overall UNLEASHED are probably the best Death Metal band today (maybe of all time), not only in Europe but the world. Their skill and passion are phenomenal. As a 15 year veteran/fan of the Death Metal scene, I must say - BRAVO GENTLEMEN!

5 out of 5 stars If you like Unleashed, you'll love this one!.......2007-01-10

I have been a fan of Unleashed since 1992, and in my opinion this is their finest offering to date! If you are a fan of metal I suggest you give this album a listen. Johnny, Anders, Tomas, and Fredrik have gone above and beyond with this one, it is their cleanest sounding album yet, but still with enough growl to get you out of your seat. They have conquered Europe with this album and it is the number 1 rated metal album in Germany. Unleashed hits the shores of America to start their tour on February 7, if you are reading this then you must see them live, I promis a show you won't soon forget. Also see their web page at [...] for more information.

5 out of 5 stars Unleashed Unleashes a Monstor.......2006-11-14

I am realitively new to this band and I only have their previous album Sworn Allegiance. I liked what I heard on that album so I was excited when I heard about the release of their new album Midvinterblot. When I popped it into my cd player I was blown away. What they have created on this album is everything that Sworn Allegiance was but more.

This album is much much heavier and faster than its predecessor. As mentionend in other reviews, the vocals are much better and the guitar riffs are muc more metal and sinister. Unlike many older bands today, Unleashed continue to get faster and heavier and stick to their roots unlike bands like Metallica and others who seem to experiment more.

Pick up this album if you like fast swedish death metal because these guys definatly deserve the support!!

4 out of 5 stars I'm SURPRISED!!!.......2006-11-11

I have loved Bow Wow since day 1. But I heard that this album do so well in record sales and I thought it wasn't going to be all that good. When I heard it though, I thought it was kinda cool Bow Wow was getting more mature with his lyrics and cowritting most of the songs. Some of songs are OKAY but for the most part the CD is hot. It's something that's good to cop.

1 out of 5 stars Please go back to school.......2006-08-31

I never liked Bow wow's first album, but I thought if JD wasn't pullin his strings he could have spread his wings and put out some good rap. Well I was wrong as he11. I'm convinced now there is no lyrical talent in a single cell in this kids body. Good beats with very weak lyrics. Bow wow do yourself a favor. You probably dropped out of school, go back and get your GED and take your a** to a trade school and become a carpenter. Cause this rap s*** is not for you. Your survivin on blind luck alone.

1 out of 5 stars doggy poo poo!.......2006-05-15

Yeah this album smell like a rottweiler that has the runs. Bow wow has no skills and should quit. Anybody that has JD writing there rhymes is not only stupid but they are even wacker then JD could ever dream to be.

Album Description

Before she unleashed The Pandoras on an unsuspecting world, Paula Pierce was the lead guitarist/singer/songwriter in Action Now, a garage power pop band hailing from Southern California's San Gabriel Valley.

Using the original master tapes, thought lost for almost 20 years, the French-only "All Your Dreams" album has been mastered for CD for the first time by remastering genius Bill Inglot, who also originally produced seven of the studio tracks. Completing the story is "Try" from "Rodney On The ROQ, Vol. III" and a complete Action Now live show, mastered from the original two-track tape, rediscovered after 22 years.

This CD contains the original version of "Stop Pretending," the title song from The Pandoras' Rhino Records LP, along with a live version of "Anyone But You," later recorded for that same 1986 Pandoras LP. In all, this collection features 26 songs never before on CD, 25 songs never released in the United States and five previously unreleased Paula Pierce-penned tunes.

Playing alongside Paula and making the Action Now sound happen were Jim Schuster (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mike Lawrence (bass, vocals) and Scott Hillman (drums). Also on the CD are Dennis Pash (harmonica) and Chris Bagarozzi (lead guitar).

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Pre-Pandora's Paula.......2007-04-05

It's great to finally hear what Action Now sound like. It was obviously a labor of love to get this out, and I appreciate the effort. Early garage pop from an era that pre-dated the Paisley Underground by maybe a year or two by pioneers that would include The Lyres, The Last, and Real Kids (and a host of others), Action Now also has a tinge of that period's sound lacing the overall 60's approach. Mostly male lead vocals, but you can hear Paula's growling vocals accompanying many of the songs. Reminds you of a force in music removed from this world at a far to early age. Nice addition of a live concert as well as an album's worth of recorded songs, and "Try" from Rodney Bingenheimer's "best of" album. An early, rawer version of "Stop Pretending" is an added bonus. There is a wealth of material here. Highly recommended for any fan of 60's or 80's garage, power pop, or the garage version of the Pandoras.
