There are but two kinds of people in the world: Those captivated by Baz Luhrmann's heady, postmodernist musical romp Moulin Rouge--and everybody else. Oddly, the film's initial soundtrack release may have been the project's most traditional element, marketing a slate of pop-star contributions that gave listeners a sometimes-skewed perspective on its true musical charms. This follow-up corrects much of that oversight, offering original film versions of "Sparkling Diamonds" (the lavish, Nicole Kidman-performed medley of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" and "Material Girl"), Jim Broadbent's and Richard Roxburgh's loopy take on "Like a Virgin," as well as the lively Offenbach "Can Can" parody "The Pitch (Spectacular Spectacular)." It also pays homage to the efforts of composer Craig Armstrong, whose quietly compelling underscore often binds the film's other far-flung musical influences together, be they stately orchestral readings of Elton John's "Your Song," a dramatic arrangement for Kidman and Ewan MacGregor's original film duet of "Come What May," or his dark, melodramatic take on Queen's "The Show Must Go On." The first Moulin Rouge soundtrack collection flaunted the film's bold, cross-genre ambitions; this one chronicles its nakedly emotional heart and soul. --Jerry McCulley
Album Details
Volume Two Includes the Memorable Renditions of 'like a Virgin' and 'your Song' and 'the Pitch (Spectacular Spectacular).' It also features a Mix of the Nicole Kidman Song 'one Day I'll Fly Away.'
Customer Reviews:
Wow........2007-01-15
I must say...I was very glad when they released Part Two of the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Don't get me wrong...the first part was great and all, but it was nothing spectacular. I was specifically looking for certain songs from the movie, and I was completely disappointed when they were on there. The release of a second soundtrack was, in my opinion, an absolute necessecity.
The highlights of the album are:
-Your Song (Instrumental)
-Sparkling Diamonds (original film version)
-Come What May (original film version)
-The Show Must Go On (original film version)
In my opinion, "The Show Must Go On" is the best song on this album...it was just so perfect for the ending of the movie, and I fell in love with the song. I was so disappointed that it wasn't on the first soundtrack. This song is part of what makes the second soundtrack so amazing...the song is fierce!!
If you love the movie and are a fan of the first soundtrack, then definitely, get this one. Many of the songs are versions taken straight from the movie - I recommend this with 4.5 stars...you will NOT be disappointed!
Love this CD.......2006-07-04
I love everything about this movie. The music is amazing and the instrumental songs on this CD are perfect. The first CD seemed to be more for a bunch of teenyboppers that wanted to hear the worst song on the whole CD (Lady Marmalade). If only they could combine the good songs from the first CD into this one.
I gave this 5 stars even though it's about a 4.5 because they split the soundtrack over two seperate cds.
Could it get any better?.......2006-03-02
So i thought that the first instalment in these soundtracks was great (and it was) but the purchase of this sequel is a must if you want the full effect. With the original film versions of these songs, sung by the stars of the movie, you get the real feel that was the magnifisence of Moulin Rouge! Ewan McGregor is still by far the star, with his talent spilling over the dramatic lovesong 'Come What May' and 'Your Song', but Nicole's brilliant performance as Satine definatly takes front and center in 'One Day I'll Fly Away' and the film version of 'Sparkling Diamonds'...I have noticed that many complain about how the first soundtrack did not include the film version of this song...well you need this CD then...you will not be dissapointed. Other highlights include 'Like a Virgin' which is downright histarical, and the dark cover of 'the show must go on' which highlights the tragidy behind this tightly woven tale. THis is one must have soundtrack for your ever growing collection. A perfect companion to soundtrack number 1!
Moulin rouge tried to fill up the GAP.......2006-02-12
This contains many great tracks missing from the original soundtrack, including Like A Virgin, Spectacular Spectacular and The Show Must Go On. I thought the inclusion of two instrumental versions of Your Song might be a bit redundant, but upon listening to them I really enjoyed them and they are quite different from one another. OK, it's not the best soundtrack that could have been put out. But it's pretty darn close. One thing that many DEDICATED fans of the movie (including myself) said is that the original movie soundtrack lacked the actual original movie score. There are 10+ songs in "Moulin Rouge" and many didn't make the final cut.
Baz did the smart thing, taking the audiences favorite music, a few gems from the first soundtrack such as "Come What May" and "Sparkling Diamonds" as well as a few new songs, like "Like a Virgin", "The Show Must Go On" and "The Pitch (Spectacular Spectacular)" and releasing the Original Film versions, allowing for the amazing vocal performances of the actors, including the fabulous Jim Broadbent, to be shine through. Also, released is background music "Meet Me in the Red Room", played during Christian's arrival in the elephant, marking the only non-actor/orchestral piece within the context of the CD.
One thing that this soundtrack included that I didn't expect was several orchestral pieces that were mostly used as background music throughout the film. "Your Song - Instrumental" (#1) has personally become a favorite and is constantly being repeated in the CD player. Also included is the ending credits music "Bolero" and the final piece ... known as "Ascension/Nature Boy". Also included is a remix of "One Day I'll Fly Away", and like all MR remixes, is a little tough to listen to at first but after repeat listening, it becomes music to your ears.
To all you MR diehards out there: this is a must. Not like I could stop you anyways. To others who haven't been introduced to the spectacular (spectacular) world of Moulin Rouge, this is a great introductory piece, especially side-by-side with the first soundtrack.
ahahahahaha.......2006-02-01
Everything the other customers are saying is true: more music from the film, thankyouverymuch, not irritating pop conceits like the first. However, I would not have reviewed this album unless I found it absolutely necesary to point out that, in the climactic moments of track 5 "Come What May," Ewan MacGregor's voice is for some reason missing and replaced by a bizarre, operatic man's voice. It truly had me crying with laughter the first few times I heard it, and I wanted to share this wondrous discovery with the world.

While not overly generous at 55 minutes, the highlights album of the 1987 original Broadway cast recording of Les Miserables is intelligently selected and likely to prove satisfying to most fans. It includes the best-loved numbers of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's score, beautiful ballads ("Bring Him Home," "I Dreamed a Dream") and rousing anthems ("One Day More," "Do You Hear the People Sing?") alike, but eliminates some choral numbers ("Lovely Ladies"), redundancies ("Red and Black"), and connective tissue that propels the plot along ("Valjean Arrested," "Come to Me (Fantine's Death)"). Sure, a more perfect selection could have lasted longer than half of the two-disc set's 104 minutes by adding "At the End of the Day" and "In My Life," among others, but it's still a good representation on a convenient single disc. Of course, those who always want to re-create the theatrical experience will never be satisfied with a highlights album.
Re-creating their roles from the London production, Colm Wilkinson plays the heroic Valjean and Frances Ruffelle is the despondent Eponine. Randy Graff (Fantine), Terrence Mann (Javert), David Bryant (Marius), Judy Kuhn (Cosette), Michael Maguire (Enjolras), and Leo Burmester and Jennifer Butt (the Thénardiers) fill out the cast. --David Horiuchi

BEST OPERA MUSIC EVER.......2006-11-03
This is the BEST!! I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes this kind of music!
Time well spent........2005-09-14
Each member of the Les Miserables cast stands to deliver this musical to its audience. Within moments we are transported to France during their Restoration. We experience sadness, laughter and, indeed, want to join in their crusade. The music and deliverance, in my opinion, is excellent.
Great Score, But Highlights Missing Critical Songs.......2005-08-05
Composers Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's score for "Les Miserables" is simply brilliant and the spectacular Broadway cast, led by Colm Wilkinson, Randy Graff, Terrence Mann, and Frances Ruffelle, help bring this incredible music to life!
While I normally enjoy "highlight" cds, this one clocks in at a mere 55 minutes and could have easily included a couple of additional tunes (thus losing one star). Most notably missing: "At The End Of The Day", "Come To Me", "Red And Black", and "In My Life". The show's most memorable songs, however, are included.
Best tracks:
I Dreamed A Dream
Master Of The House
Stars
Do You Hear The People Sing
On My Own

Great cast, great score ... even a good buy. But I would suggest the full double-disc score instead.
Buy the full version, please.......2005-01-20
Highlights are never worth it. You will never get the little in-between songs which make a show complete, montages will be cut together badly instead of being full songs as they should be...so much is left out. This is a fantastic show and deserves to be heard in full.
Argh Matey!.......2004-11-22
"Highlights" albums are not the full show, blah blah blah... THIS TAKES UP ONLY ONE SPACE IN YOUR CD RACK INSTEAD OF TWO LIKE THE FULL RECORDING. I rest my case.

Album Description
Creed's Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips, and Brian Marshall re-emerge as ALTER BRIDGE with new singer Myles Kennedy.
Customer Reviews:
Not the same version that Edge uses.......2007-06-20
I'll be honest, I bought this CD because one of the songs, "Metalingus", is the theme song for WWE Wrestler Edge and it was not available on any WWE albums.
The song on the CD is not exactly the same as Edge uses for his entrance. The drum riff used before Edge comes out is at the end of the song here, and the part of the song you hear as he proceeds to the ring is actually over halfway through this version. So, wrestling fans be forewarned.
However it was good to find that I enjoyed the rest of the album. My opinion varies from most in that I did not enjoy Scott Stapp's voice when listening to Creed. To me it kept interfering with what I thought was a really good band playing.
Exit Stapp, enter Miles Kennedy and Creed's former instrumentalists have found a voice that finally compliments their playing in my ears. His voice is more akin to Chris Connell than Stapp and together the new band Alter Bridge shows a lot of potential to me. I say potential because this first album, while great, lacks an indefinable cohesiveness that comes with a band playing together for a while. All this leads me to wait for their sophomore album with much anticipation.
Better than Creed. Really........2007-06-06
This is really a simple album to review. I loved all 3 of Creed's albums, but this album is far, far better than those. Rougher, louder, heavier, Tremonti is absolutely out of his mind on this album. Metalingus might be one of the best songs from this gang, Stapp or no Stapp, and it doesn't even have a guitar solo! Buy it, buy it, you will not be disappointed.
WOW!!.......2007-04-22
This is defiently a DAMN good band!! This singer fits as well as stapp did in my own opinion, has his own feel like stapp does as well. When comparing Stapps new record to this one i say this one beats stapp buy a star and a half.
Great Album!.......2007-03-15
The number one question in most people's minds when they hear of Alter Bridge is; Do they sound like Creed? The answer is no, not really. The song that sounds most like Creed is Open Your Eyes and none of the other songs on the cd sound like Open Your Eyes. Creed had an alternative streak (Say I, Wrong Way, etc) where as Alter Bridge sounds like straight up rock n' roll. The guitar work on this album is VERY VERY good! Myles Kennedy has a great voice. He'll shock you with some of his work, for instance, his last notes on Find the Real. Myles is a tenor and sounds very different compared to Scott Stapp. He's actually quite a better singer than Stapp too. Maybe a little less feel (for some people) but much better singing. The highlights here and when I mean highlights I mean you have to hear these songs at least once in your life are;
Find the Real--Great intro with double bass and solos thrown throughout each and every chorus and solo in the bridge! Blew me away when I first heard it. Hard and heavy but not fast.
One Day Remains--More modern rock than hard rock with an alternative feel. Very and I mean very fast verse riff with a huge flurry of notes. Cool little sweep solo in the bridge. It's a little repetitive but the amazing verse and anthemic chorus will have you singing along.
Metallingus--Very hard and heavy and fast. The closest thing to metal on this cd. The bridge has a very cool start/stop heavy riff with some amazing runs thrown in. Closes out with double bass and heavy guitars that remind me of the bridge.
Broken Wings--Tremonti writes beautiful ballads and here's a darker more bleak sounding ballad than anything he's ever written. Great bluesy fingerpicked intro with a simple verse and chorus that make you feel the MELODY sung by Myles Kennedy. Oh, and even though the guitar work is "simple" it's actually quite complex with some weird sounding chords and octave chord slides that spice up the chorus without making the guitar the highlight.
Shed My Skin--Softer ballad type song. The lyrics are what really get you on this one.
The End is Here--Epic and awesome. Explodes from the verse to the chorus. Middle Eastern sounding with again great runs and riffs. Heavy like Find the Real in the verse (but in the chorus) and with a darker feel than Find the Real. This is THE track on the cd.
The rest of the cd is not as impressive but these tracks are amazing! Alter Bridge definitely has a harder and heavier vibe to them then Creed did. The cd is a mix of hard rock and a softer (but not soft) rock. The guitar work (again) NEEDS to be heard. This cd had me mesmerized for a couple months. The only complaint would be that they need to follow in the vein of Find the Real and The End is Here more than Shed My Skin and a couple other tracks if they really want to do something distinctive from the TYPE of music they've made in the past. Again every song on here is great but it sounds like Alter Bridge tried to move in one direction and then had to compromise a little (with their record label). Their next cd should be all them and I can't wait to hear it.
Bridge to Success.......2007-03-12
After purchasing this cd used a couple of years ago because I didn't want to get burned on another cd that was suppossed to be great with a new lead singer. I was very surprised with this cd and after repeated listens it just got better and better. It usually gets added to my mix when I do a MP3 mix for my car audio. It's just one of those cd's that doesn't get tiring after a couple of listens like so many others do today. It will intersting to see what their sophmore release will be like if they ever work through whatever problems that they've encountered since this release. Time will tell. If you haven't picked this up because Scott Stapp isn't singing lead on it then you're sorely missing out on some great music.

The "Golden Age" referred to here spans The Jazz Singer and the advent of the talkies to the death throes of the old studio system in the 1960s. So vast was the era's musical landscape that even this 42-track, double-disc anthology can't encompass all its peaks. Not surprisingly, the bulk of this collection originated with the Tiffany's of the screen musical, M-G-M, a body of work whose riches here encompass both pop-cultural bedrock ("Over the Rainbow," "Singin' in the Rain," "There's No Business Like Show Business," etc.) and some less familiar, if equally delightful star turns: Clark Gable gamely "Puttin' On the Ritz"; the sassy, 1948 original of "The Lady Is a Tramp" by Lena Horne; and a loopy duet of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban. Fred Astaire's elegant, epochal reign at RKO and M-G-M is represented by "Night and Day," "Let's Face the Music and Dance," and three others, while Metro mainstays Gene Kelly and Judy Garland share equal time and billing. It's not perfect--Cagney's "Yankee Doodle Boy" and/or some Sinatra seem more logical choices than the odd "bonus" duet of Casablanca's "As Time Goes By" and "Lara's Theme" from Dr. Zhivago that close out disc one--but it's a stunning, surprisingly comprehensive primer on the Hollywood film musical nonetheless. --Jerry McCulley

Everything that happens in life
Can happen in a show
You can make 'em laugh
You can make 'em cry
Anything
Anything can go....
The clown with his pants falling down
Or the dance that's a dream of romance
Or the scene where the villain is mean
That's entertainment!
The lights on the lady in tights
Or the bride with the guy on the side
Or the ball where she gives him her all
That's entertainment!
The plot and the hot simply teeming with $ex
A gay divorcee who is after her ex
It could be Oedipus Rex
Where a chap kills his father
And causes a lot of bother
The clerk who is thrown out of work
By the boss who is thrown for a loss
By the skirt who is doing him dirt
The world is a stage,
The stage is a world of entertainment!
This two CD set amply proves that the musical melodies and lyrics from the golden age of the Hollywood musical remain unsurpassed to this day. This generous two CD set offers 42 incredible songs from Hollywood classic musicals. Most of these fine numbers are indeed from MGM, as Amazon correctly notes; but there are some RKO numbers and even a little from Warner Brothers. Thank goodness, though, that most of these songs came from MGM movies; MGM was the only studio that could boast that it truly had "more stars than there are in the heavens."
I love so many songs on these two CDs. Of course, there's the unforgettable classic "Over The Rainbow" sung by Judy Garland; she also performs "Easter Parade" and "Get Happy" on this two CD set and she carries most of the tune for "I Got Rhythm" even though Mickey Rooney helps her a little. I love "Baby, It's Cold Outside" for its' romantic overtones; and Lena Horne's "The Lady Is A Tramp" is flawless! We also get a rare chance to hear Clark Gable sing in "Puttin' On The Ritz;" and Bing Crosby's "Going Hollywood" may be brief but it's a fun song anyway.
There are two "bonus" tracks on the first CD: "As Time Goes By" from Casablanca and "Lara's Theme" from Doctor Zhivago. "As Time Goes By" is a good choice; it is another unsurpassed classic song that brings back memories and touches even the hardest of hearts. "Lara's Theme," however, is from the mid 1960s and I don't consider this period to be part of the "golden age" of Hollywood musicals.
The liner notes are excellent and they offer wonderful photos of the stars as well. The cover art is well done and the reverse cover art tells which movie each song is from and who is performing each song. Moreover, the quality of the sound is excellent especially when you consider that these numbers were recorded quite a few decades ago.
In short, this superlative two CD highlights the glory of the Hollywood musical when a certain type of sophistication dominated professional movie production. I highly recommend this CD for fans of Hollywood musicals, classic pop vocals and fans of the artists and actors who perform on this two CD set.
One of the best cds I ever bought. .......2006-06-07
What an amazon collection of songs! This is bar none my favorite cd just because of the variety and the quality of songs on it. I love music from this era, and this cd is the perfect companion to my life. Love it! Buy it, you won't regret it for a moment!
Never Sounded Better.......2006-03-16
Apart from the great selection of soundtracks, what really makes this compilation top value is the quality of the sound processing. Executed with finesse, these tracks sound better than when first issued and many are unedited, fuller versions: like "Singing In The Rain", for example. Throw in the great price, and this double disc set is a "must have" for all lovers of classic movie music.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow.......2006-02-24

It was once said by the songwriters of that era - "There are two artists you want perform your songs on the big screen, they are Fred Astaire and Judy Garland they sing it just the way we wrote it, for which you will have a guaranteed hit on your hands"...well, this collections certainly has some merit to that statement...because with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire performing seven songs each, there must be something to it.
This collection of musicals still has the magic that we remember from those bygone years...but as long as we have the labels and networks who play and show these wonderful films of yesteryear, they will never be forgotten...hats off to Rhino Records, George Feltenstein (producer) and Doug Schwartz (engineer) and Turner Classic Movies for sharing those 42 selections from 42 films...celebrating decades of the tunes and artists that gave it their all...from what it commonly called "The Hollywood Dream Factory"...The Golden Age of Hollywood Musicals is still among us...gotta love it!

Customer Reviews:
Fabulous for any Broadway-lover.......2007-01-30
Packs into 5 CD's a sampling of Broadway tunes from the 20's thru (almost) today, mostly from original cast recordings. Includes not just well-known hits, but also some lesser-known gems. Sound quality is first rate, booklet is informative too. Have given this as a gift to several friends with rave reviews.
Top Shelf.......2007-01-04
This is THE definitive collection of Broadway hits. I have other collections, and none of them measure up. A great deal of care was obviously taken in compiling and presenting this box set. It covers a lot of ground, starting with some long-forgotten but still very enjoyable hits from the days of yore, and finishing with present-day favorites. To the best of my knowledge, the recordings are by those who made them famous. You won't be disappointed.
TERRIFIC CD'S.......2006-03-23
THESE BROADWAY MUSICALS CD'S ARE A BROADWAY LOVERS DREAM. WITH EACH SONG, MEMORIES COME FLOODING BACK. BOTH THE FAMILIAR AND THE FORGOTTEN SONGS ARE A TRUE LISTENING PLEASURE. IF YOU LIKE BROADWAY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS SET.
Great Collection of Broadways greatest Songs .......2005-06-14
This Collection was perfectly made it has almost all the most famous Broadway songs on this 5 cd set. The Music is great and has Broadways greatest treasures like "Memory""People""With One Look""Give my regards Too Broadway" just to name a few of this numerous cd set with over 100 songs. This is a great buy if you like musicals or The music of Broadway
Great Compilation!.......2005-01-17
If you are a fan of the Broadway Musicals, this is a collection that you should purchase. Since I got the 5 disc set I've enjoyed listening to it. The majority of the songs are done by the original singers. The collection is priceless considering that you will have over 100 songs from popular musicals since the beginning of Broadway

Pavarotti and friends.......2003-11-14
A wonderful eclectic compilation. A bold step for Luciano that works! Very easy listening.
great, but..........2003-06-16
the neville brothers don't belong here. they have fake voices that were made by marketing people. pavarotti has a voice trained over the years with tremendous preparation and hours and hours of classical training and lessons. it's like putting gary matthews jr. on a hitting show with ted williams. a big joke. but everyone else is great.
Verry fun and risky but it worked.......2002-02-07
Pop stars with Opera singers, who would of thought. But it worls well. This CD is fun and has some wonderful proformances. Sting and Pav are very good together on Pania Angelicus. Sting is also good with Zucchero on Muoio Per TE. This CD sounds wonderful and is a must have for the fans of Pav, Sting, Kaas, May, Succhero, at all.
I don't think so.......2000-12-31
This is not what I expected. I only like "La donne mobile." My mom only liked "Caruso" and "Panis Angelicus." This is not like the second on or the one for Bosnia. Those rocked.
Fantastic album...the 1st in a wonderful series.......2000-12-14
This is the first cd in the Pavarotti and Friends series which benefits charities. The wonderful thing about them, is the mix of genres. And this one is no exception. Listen to Sting sing with Pavarotti on the beautiful 'Panis Angelicus', and 'La Donna e Mobile'. Who would have thought of pairing those two together. But it works with breathtaking magic. Just look at the list of artists on this disc and the songs performed. There really is something for every taste. From operatic songs to rock. I love this series, and highly recommend them to all music lovers.

Can't be perfect,, no _________ way.......2007-05-15
Praful have it. Jazz and New Age go together very well, this is the kind of music that belongs in a ultra-modern art museum. If you have heard sigh, it's actually not like that the rest of the way. Praful have their own sound, but it's very cool. Cool is the word, if onyl they had ________ samples.
The reason why I took off a star is because at times, the songs drag on. They are very long, they don't change much (with some progression and added instruments here and there, but not ________ enough). The cd also drags on, and you have to be in the right move to force yourself to sit theough the whole thing. THe first time I did, I am ________ fell asleep. If you are not in the perfect mood, you will get bored of this very quickly. Despite this, all the songs are really good, but somestimes, you might just listen to the ones you feel like listening to, which means one song will be really good and you will hate one for that day, but the next day it will switch. Sounds pretty _________ confusing, but it's what I felt.
Too bad, because at times you actually will be able to sit through it, it will definitly be _______ cool. And it is. THe new age elements and jazz go together very well, it's also one of the most unique albums I have ever heard. IF you are sick of the ______ on the radio, then look into Praful.
Great Variety Of Good Stuff!!!.......2007-02-24
This album is a really nice mix of stuff from the artist! Brazilian, East Indian, and electronic sounds, often intermingled. Quite interesting, skillful, pleasing to my ear. Well worth it, in my opinion. Check it out!
PRAFUL=ONE DAY DEEP!!.......2007-02-07
This is an excellent CD.Its smooth jazz, with a little exotica/erotica and some funk. But nothing is overpowering, its a splendid mix of music! You could probably lump this CD in with Club Style Music. Theres Alot You Can Dance To! The Track, SIGH Is A Real Attention Getter! Adani & Wolf had a hand in the making of this CD. If your a fan of them, this CD won't disappoint. A very upbeat collection of music! In my opinion every track is good, nothing falls flat or short!
On the verge of ordering this entire cd.......2006-06-08
I first heard the song "sigh" while listening to cd 101.9 fm on my way home from work. I was hooked from that moment on. I purchased a smooth jazz cd containing this song as well as several others and played it so much, that my kids are now requesting to hear "sigh" almost every other day. I am now in the process of ordering this cd and look forward to praful's upcoming music as well!
TOP FLIGHT.......2006-03-10
I DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THE CD.
PRAFUL HAS A NEW SOUND THAT STANDS ALONE AND IT MAKES ANYONE WHO LISTENS TO IT BOP THERE HEADS AND LOOK TOWARDS WHEREVER THE MUSIC IS COMING FROM. NOW THATS POWERFULL. I AM A MUSICIAN ALSO (BASS) AND IF I COULD FIND SOME SERIOUS MUSICIANS, I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY MUSIC WITH THIS KIND OF SOUND.

If you're a Sondheim ballad fan, this a must-have. While there are a few renditions that aren't great (Not a Day Goes By is way overdone), the selections from Follies sung by Barbara Cook are outstanding. The Cleo Laine version of "Send in the Clowns" is lovely and Stephen Collins does an amazing good job on "Sorry-Grateful" from Company. Still, it's the Follies songs that truly shine!
