STILL Queen of the Disco!.......2007-04-03
A killer track from the undisputed Queen of the Disco!!!! She's been writing and performing for a LOOOOOOONG time now and she can still churn out great dance music. Long live the QUEEN!!!!!
GREAT SONG.......2007-02-19
I OWN THE VYNIL VERSION THAT CONTAINS RICHIE SANTANA VIRUS DUB (6:22)
GREAT VERSION NOT AVAILABLE ON PART 1 AND 2 ,YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO IT.
I heard this for the first time last night at a club..........2006-07-16
...and tingled. I've always said that Donna Summer is one of the most underrated singing talents. In her Disco years, she defined a genre. Then she disappeared. I don't think that is how she would define her journey, but for music it was a loss. When I heard this and saw the video last night, I thought 'Great! She's back!'. Then I found out today that this had been released in 1999! I was shocked. It is a beautiful song fabulously rendered. AND she looks amazing. I love the Andre/Sarah version, but for me Ms Summer's version now defines the song.
Not the worst thing out there.......2005-08-15
Time to say goodbye is a beautiful and sad song. Why someone would have it in a wedding is beyond me, since the song is obviously NOT about falling in love.
Donna Summer's rendition of this song is not intended to sound anything like the original. If people are listening to this and expecting her to sound like Brightman, than they are obviously going to be disappointed.
This is neither an ethereal opera style performance, nor is it intended to be a techno club version of the song.
It's a dance version. People should venture outside their little boxes before reviewing an album. If you want to hear techno, download a song by Juno Reactor or Orbital and get back to me. Donna does an outstanding job at turning a beautiful song into a thoroughly enjoyable dance track. And for the record, of course the translation does not match up! The lyrics would sound awful with a direct translation. Common sense should tell you that all translated pieces are changed somewhat, not to compromise the integrity of the work, but to prevent it from sounding OBVIOUSLY translated.
Star 69 is the alter ego of Peter Rauhofer, one of the most celebrated DJ's today. His remixes have appeared on singles by Madonna, PSB, Depeche Mode, and Cher. These are not second rate remixes by crappy DJ's like DJ skribble.

Wow!.......2006-12-21
I was never an Enya fan before... don't dislike her, just indifferent... I heard this on the radio and was captivated. It is simply... beautiful. No other words for it. Wow. Just wow.
Beautiful.........2006-01-30
I'm not one for Christmas music, I admit..but Enya does great with this. I would say the track that really does it for me on here is 'Oriel Window'. I took a liking to that track immediately. Yet another must own product from Enya.
Brought tears to my eyes...............2000-12-25
This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard...brought tears to my eyes when I heard it. Christmas is not compete without it. Don't listen to those who say it is dull listening to 'Silent Night' in another langauge! Listening to Enya singing it is like listening to the angels themselves...Need I say more?
Atmospheric.......2000-10-04
You cannot beat having Silent Night in another language.I love hearing different language interpretations of holiday favourites. Makes things more... multicultural and festive. No one better to bring us Silent Night in Irish than the incomparable Enya who delivers a otherworldly, if not heavenly, version of Silent Night. Something you must have for your Christmas music collections!
Words fail me.......2000-06-22
Silent Night is indescribably beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes every time I play it. Vintage Enya chord progressions and key changes. Fluid, romantic, sensual, contlemplative . . . .Heaven for your head.
Oh, how I long for an entire Christmas Holiday CD from this artist!

Understanding is key.......2005-09-04
I'll probably get railed for this, but the pivotal point on this EP is the cover of the traditional "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas". What this entire Choirgirl-era orbited around was the miscarriage of Tori's child; all other problems she was having then were secondary, but amplified threefold because of this central issue. It's in the music; Cold, mechanical, sterile, yet wrought with outbursts of pain. It's in the imagery: a black null void, frozen in stasis. Numb. Very Decemberesque, which is what I think of when I listen to this particular era of Tori Amos. Winter. Dark, gray, sunless winter. Of course, this brings us to Christmas, which is focal on this particular single.
Purple People (Christmas In Space) is somber and reflective, whereas there is really something striking about the movement of the ambient sounds in the background to Have Yourself.., most notably in the last ten or so seconds. The steady mechanical hum and slow bubbling give me mental images of being underwater, having stray beams of light cross you and the stray bubble pass by you. This may come off as a little morose, but it sounds like being drowned. Stasis, again. Womb-like, maybe? I can't stop raving about this, particularly because I don't think there's another that could take a song like that and turn it into what she turned it into.
Trapsing in afterwards, Bachelorette feels like an afterthought, but keeps with the darker sound as to not seem too out of place. Not a bad song, but placement wasn't well thought out. It sounds like an unwanted happy ending.
All and all, top-notch offering. Shame about the newer material..
It's not about the CD.......2002-02-22
I have absolutely no problem with the CD. My problem was with the seller. They showed me a picture of the CD. They showed me the CD title. Then they sent me the wrong dratted Spark single. So, um...buyer beware.
Sweetly Tasteful.......2001-06-21
The singles on this CD are wonderful. Another addition to the collecters stash of her music, if haven't already included. Purple People is the second song that has a very mellow and sultry sound. One of which should listened to on a hot summer day, in a hammock, swaying in the breeze, to get the complete effect. The third is Bachlorette, an upbeat tune that even captures Tori's laugh at the end. You know she had fun singing this particular song. This single is one of my fav's. Topped off with Spark, it has Tori's powerful voice which flows from the sadness of Spark, to the sleepiness of Purple People, finished with the spunky with a dash of salsa in Bachlorette. The many sides of Tori in three songs... I like!!!!
A Definite Must for Tori Fans.......2000-03-29
I am so pleased with this single. "Spark" is one of my all-time favorite songs (it's the one that got me interested in Tori in the first place.) For those of you who already own the Choirgirl CD, BUY THIS SINGLE! This is worth getting because two fantastic songs, "Purple People" and "Bachelorette" are not on her other CD's. True, the live version of "Purple People" is on Tori's latest CD, but this is the only studio version available. And the song "Bachelorette" is not found anywhere else and it is an awesome song--you'll love it the first time you hear it!
A stunning single.......2000-01-30
Spark is an incredilble song that leaves me breathless every time I hear it. The two bee-sides are also great, especially Bachelorette, a slinky, sexy song which makes you want to dance.

Nice Little Package.......2000-09-01
This is the maxi-single for Static-X's "Push It", the first single off their debut album. It has the album version of the song, two remixes, plus a live version of "Bled for Days" and an unreleased track entitled "Down". Also included is an enhanced portion, with some neat videos. Here's a review for the individual tracks:
1) Push It - 5/5 Awesome song, great riffs, everything.
2) Bled For Days (Live) - 5/5 Good song, sounds exactly like the album version, except of course it's live (people clapping, etc.).
3) Push It (JB's Death Trance Mix) - 3/5 This is an okay remix, but I don't like the sound it gave to the song. Imagine the original version of the song, with added dance beats and lots of keyboard effects.
4) Down (Unreleased) - 4/5 This song is cool, however it sounds a lot like "Push It". Still a good track, nonetheless.
5) Push It (Mephisto Odyssey Remix) - 5/5 This is an awesome remix of "Push It". It gives the song a drum 'n bass feel to it, it sounds great. It's a little long though, about 6 and a half minutes to be exact.
Lastly, there's the enhanced portion. It has live footage of the band performing "Bled for Days", plus the video for "Push It".
Overall, this is a nice little package, and it's a good buy for those who either just like the song "Push It" and don't feel like getting the album, or for die-hard Static-X fans that want to get it in terms of collecting.
What happened to the good remixes!.......2000-07-24
I love the song "push it" but the remixes are not that great if great at all. The unrealeased track sounds a lot like push it, but its all good. "Bled for days" live, whats up with that its the same as the original version except there are stupid people claping and screaming yeah yeah yeah... Well This single is not that expensive and it was mostly good so go out and buy this baby. Oh this also has the video to "push it".
I Enjoy the Enhanced Portion.......2000-06-09
When I put this on, I usually don't go for the remixes, actually, almost never. I put it on to watch the videos. I think Push It is a great song, and the video is partially funny, with Static Man (the clay guy) running around, but the part with Wayne singing and the band playing is even better. I enjoyed seeing them live both times, and the Bled For Days part is a huge treat. Really cool footage. If you're low on cash and you want some new music or a new video, pick this up. It'll be in your CD-ROM for a long time.
Good Single.......2000-06-04
This single is really more then the average single. It has five tracks total (Push it, Push it (remix), Push it (diff remix), Bled for Days (live), and Down (non-album song). The two remixes are pretty good, although i think the first is the better of the two. Bled for days live is alright, and Down, which is really a demo and not a new song, is awesome. They also have push it and a live recording of bled for days videos for your comp encoded in the cd. All in all, a must have for static-x fans. Static-X has a new song on the "Negativity in Black 2: A tribute to black sabbath" album. Make sure to check that out. peace.
This Will Make Your Ears Bleed For Days.......2000-04-24
This Cd from Static-X is a real ear full! The best track on their would have to be the live version of Bled for days. The CD is enhanced so plug'er into your comp to make sure you get your money's worth. Not the greatest Cd but good for true fans like myself. Also an unreleased track so look for that. Good effort but expected more from these metal-gods!

Even Better Than The Surreal Thing.......2003-06-02
U2 released two singles of their ACHTUNG BABY song, "Even Better Than The Real Thing". The first was a standard single featuring the original track plus some B-sides of excellent quality. This, the second release, did not featuring the original, but included five remixes of said song. Here are some comments on each of the five tracks:
"Even Better Than The Real Thing (The Perfecto Mix)" -- This is such a great, silly and fun dance remix. The guitar from the original is moved around a bit; the song begins with what was the guitar solo of the original, while the riff that originally only appeared at the opening now makes multiple appearances throughout. Several dance beats have been added to the track, as well as a woman providing soaring backing vocals; this gives the whole track an almost Latin flavor. Recommended, in any case. Remix by Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne.
"Even Better Than The Real Thing (Sexy Dub Mix)" -- Musically, very similar to the previous remix. The same beats are in evidence, as are the same added synthesizers and keyboards. The biggest difference is that all of the lyrics have been removed, apart from the chorus, which now solely consists of the backing vocals from the previous version; Bono is nowhere to be heard on this track. Remix by Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne.
"Even Better Than The Real Thing (Apollo 440 Stealth Sonic Remix)" -- A very beat-oriented remix. In fact, many places in the song sound like the original with a slightly techno sounding beat laid down over it. In other places, distorted guitars are added as well as a faster bass line. Musically, a very interesting version. Remix by Apollo 440.
"Even Better Than The Real Thing (V16 Exit Wound Remix)" -- Even more rhythms than the previous mix. Bono's vocals have been given some electronic treatment, making him sound like a crooning robot from an 80's science-fiction movie. Overall, it sounds like listening to a vaguely altered version of the original on your headphones while standing in the middle of a techno club. Strangely enough, these sounds go together extremely well. Remix by Apollo 440.
"Even Better Than The Real Thing (A 440 vs. U2 Instrumental Remix)" -- Exactly what it says on the box, this is an instrumental version of a combination of the previous two remixes. Not great, not bad. Remix by Apollo 440.
Individually, there are some really good remixes here. Of course, it's not every day that I feel like popping a CD into my stereo and hearing the same song five times, no matter how different the remixes sound. Still, it's interesting to hear different interpretations of the same basic structure, and the collection here is quite good.
Great buy.......2000-02-26
If you are a U2 fan, this is a great item to get while you still can, most stores don't have old singles. The remixes are all pretty good. The first 2, I think are by Paul Oakenfold, OK. The last 3 by Apollo 440 are just great, especially V16 Exit Wound Mix. The only other likely place to find these is a bootleg remix CD or U2's Melon for Propoganda only has 1 of them I think. Buy it now.

Deborah does it again!.......2000-06-19
A great dance techno wonder....Deborah shows even after 10 years she can still hit the Billboard Charts with this little number. A definite buy! Also look out shes back with a new album sometime this year, she is already getting fantastic airplay with her latest single "What You Want", and is already in the Top 20 request line at KRBE a top pop radio station in Houston.
YOU GO GIRL!
She's back and here to stay........1999-09-29
I knew she would come back bigger and better. Watch out she's not 16 anymore. She took timeout for herself and now is showing the critics what it is all about. You go girl. You will always be #1 in my heart.
This is a GREAT single.......1999-09-26
Deborah Gibson made a terrific work here, this CD is fantastic. It's not only words, it's rhythm too.
NOW THIS IS A DANCE SONG!.......1999-06-06
Deborahs vocals shine up this little techno number to classic proportions. "Only Words" can describe a song that definitely did not receive the radio attention it should of got....Deborah your day in pop music will come again soon. You hit Billboards Top 40 Club Play with this song, that means more to come soon.....Deborah your the bomb!
WOW! This is Debbie Gibson?.......1999-06-01
Deborah lights up the dance floor once again with such a techno dance driven extravaganza. I can't believe this is the same girl who gave us "Shake Your Love" and "Electric Youth". Deborah has grown up into a fine singer, and her voice seems very much fine tuned from years past. Way to go Deborah!

I don't know why I have to use the word CLASSIC Everytime I hear a good music! I first heard this song in a club in Berlin! And I was like, "what is this? great rhtyhmn!", fresh!". And all the clubs were playing it! Amazing! And I'm bringing this music in Manila! I can like work the whole day with only this song in my ear! Great music Shaft! You got me SHAFTED! Congratulations!
Lou Bega - you suck. This is the Euro-tune of the Millenium!.......2000-03-01
This song didn't top the European charts for week after week for nothing. This is an excellent song from those Euro-dance masters that keeps the dancefloors pumping into the night. No matter how many times I listen to this, I can't get over how great this song is....repeated listenings only make me appreciate it that much more. I am not familiar with anything else Shaft has done, but this is undoubtedly gonna be their high-point - if you love Euro-dance/pop, don't miss this one!

Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber add aggressive guitars to their considerable armory of instruments to create an album of striking power and subtlety. They give full reign to their heavy metal influences on songs such as "Vigilante" and "Division of Mind," with angry guitar riffs and live-sounding programmed drums. However, the band's characteristically dark synthesizer atmospherics are still present, on tracks such as "This Faith" and the haunting "Sex Offender." Lyrics focus mostly on societal ills and technological doomsday. The songwriting is strong, with solid choruses in the title track as well as the brilliantly apocalyptic "Surface Patterns. "Victim of a Criminal" is a bold merging of Front Line Assembly's sinister power with the vocals of rapper David Hansen of the band P.O.W.E.R. --Mark McCleerey
Customer Reviews:
VERY BEST OF FLA.......2006-04-16
I actually found this recording used and picked it up just because i thought the cover was so weird. After listening to it for years and years, this album has reached my top 20 albums of all time, across any genre. I love all kinds of music, and if i had to pick one industrial album to represent the genre, it would be this one. There is one song on this album that is hard to get into, I believe it is called victim of a criminal. The guitars provide a deep rhythmic feel to this music, and make it feel more complete and lush than many of their other recordings. People either love or hate this album, and I think it is just amazing. It is super hardcore, but also retains a great listenability, and shows off great songwriting ability. I can't say enough good things about this album.
TO SEARCH IS TO DESTROY.......2005-12-01
I MUST SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN QUITE IMPRESSED WITH THIS BAND, PURE GENIUS. I FELL IN LOVE WHEN TRENT REZNOR DROPPED HIS DOWNWARD SPIRAL AND EVER SINCE THEN ITS BEEN THE BEST. THIS PARTICULAR ALBUM HAS SO MANY GREAT SONGS INCLUDING, "SEARCH AND DESTROY, AND PLASMA SPRINGS." MY CRIMINAL JUSTICE BACKGROUND MAKES ME FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT FLA'S LYRICS ARE OUT OF CONTROL, QUITE PURE EVIL BLISS.
What FLA should be.......2005-10-07
Only gay song here is Victim of a Criminal. Everything else makes for a complete album with some real winners like Liquid Separation, Plasma Springs, Sex Offender, and This Faith. In my opinion the essence of FLA lies in Gashed Senses & Crossfire, State of Mind and TNI, but Millennium is just a killer cd regardless of who put it out. If you're new to FLA and this is the only one you have heard and you like the style then you might not like other FLA before this release. I think they tried to evolve Millennium into later releases but failed. Its one of those cd's so good it was probably an accident. :)
FLA's Evolution of Sound Begins.......2005-07-10
Front Line Assembly is the brainchild of two great musically minded men, Bill Leeb & Rhys Fulber. They have had a busy decade with this entity and their other great project Delerium, and their many side projects from the Vancouver studios. 'Millenium' is the latest album release from 1994 I have listened too and have been progressively purchasing all of FLA's albums. To date this is the best CD from them I have encountered.
In this album of 10 tracks, the old sounds of FLA have merged together and mixed with more metallic sounds with the bass guitars and robotic harsh vocals sung by Leeb. This makes for one very entertaining and a absolute friendly listening experience. Just like Delerium had evolved sound and lyrical wise, I feel that FLA is on a path of self-evolution for over time nothing can stay the same way.
The best songs on this album were 'Vigilante'which took some lyrical excerpts from horror movies, 'Millenium' which introduced the heavy guitar sound into FLA and 'Victim Of A Criminal' which just mixed all the sounds into one well mixed beat.
Millennium ~ Front Line Assembly.......2005-04-12
When I first heard this album back in 1994, I did not like it all. I was expecting Tactical Neural Implant part two. However, later on in life and with a much broader palate for music I must say that I love it. It was a stroke of genius to add the layer of guitars and I love the hard edged sound which sounds like a mix between Ministry, FLA, Die Krupps and even Front 242. The cover is a very odd thing that does not look like anything at all and the text is not all that great. The lyrics are interesting and they make up for the not so great vocals with plenty of energy and a tremendous tallent to make cross over music. The guitar layer is amazing and add a brutal edge to an already grimm sound. FLA show on this album that they can mix and match their sound and still be able to create amazing music.
