The Lady of Rage.......2006-04-18
A smooth flowin, bangin rapper who unfortunately never really got the streed cred, or a chance to be heard like the other interscope and death row rappers of her era, e.g. snoop doggy dogg, dr. dre, etc.. I mean look at snoop, he has ridden the success of 4.5x platinum doggystyle right through his career, all his other albums have been lacking in beats,depth, content and flow and especially the stuff he did with master p which is not even worth mentioning...basically...snoop is no longer hungry like he was while doing doggystyle and murder was the case (soundtrack), he's super rich and lost.. but he has had immense success fortunately for him.. i guess the world of hip hop is unfair, and female rappers really have a hard time cracking it and making a success of it. Where's mc lyte, bahamadia, mc yoyo and so the list continues.....
Back to rage - Afropuffs is my favourite hip hop title of the 90's and the album will always have a special place in my collection.
The lady of rage unfortunately suffered the same fate i guess as Craig Mack, an equally good rapper but only a few really kickin songs - get down, jackin my style..!! dunno about you but thats just how i see it.
