Album Description
Southern Hostility can be described as an eclectic musical blend encompassing the elements of Hip Hop, R&B, and Funk with touches of Rock influences. ArchRyval refuses to be "pigeonholed" as they transgress from the smooth & silky sound on "Finer Thangs" to the edgy "U Ain't Ready", then completely resurrecting old-school rhythm and blues with a classic sample of vocals and production from Yarbrough and Peoples on "Rock U". They also enlist talent from abroad as Steven Stewart from Helsinki, Finland croons on "The Wolves", a testament to the shady characters that flood the music industry. The diversity that ArchRyval exhibits on Southern Hostility represents the limitless boundaries that music possesses.
Customer Reviews:
Brilliant. Exceptional fresh raps/vocals & Creative Beats.......2005-02-07
Not your typical hip-hop album. This is a trendsetting breath of fresh air. Unique arrangments, unexpected samples, and head bobbing beats combined with razor sharp creative raps from Shlep (male) and Flave (female) make this a mandatory CD for fans of the genre. The lyrics to the songs also show the skill and respect ArchRyval has for tight songwriting and clever turns of phrase. There is so much to admire here and so many layers to dig into and discover that this CD is destined to be a mainstay on many iPods & booming from car stereos for a long time. Instant classic.

U know what would be bad azz. Is if Fakkulty and Street Military joined and became one group. I havent heard anyone rap like these 2 groups. Best song on this cd is "Jack Moves". To bad both groups dont exist anymore.

Vintage houston Rap!.......2000-07-29
This album is one of the most slept on albums I've ever come across! This houston Group puts it down Hard, they talk about everyday issues and struggles.Fakkulty is part of the Killa Klan from H-town and if you are familiar with them then you know this aint No ballin Type of H-town Album. If you are looking for a new sound or that Hard rapstyle Houston is known for get this album. It has apperences by K.B and Flea of Street Military! So for someone Who likes this album and wants more like it here is a list(Street Military,BAM,Half dead organization,Zro,Guerilla Maab,G-rapp the General,Pharoah of Street military,Gang society)
