Customer Reviews:
Good follow up comp to vol 1.......2007-06-22
Yukmouth is at his best when he isn't trying to be commercial. The same goes for the guest spots on this compilation. The first United Ghettos Of America was great. Why? Because there was no commercial approach. They gave it to you raw. This album goes for the commercial approach and even though its not all horrible, it does have it's fishy moments. The Good: Kill 'Em Off is great single to kick off the album with and everybody who spit on there(Yuk, Gonzoe and Tech N9ne)ripped it. Kalifornia Gz(features E40 and Crooked I) will get a pass and so will Regime Mob(features Amp-Pachino and Chino Nino) and On The Block(features Jacka and Lil Cyco). Domination makes a bangin' appearance on Dont Be Scared and joins Yuk on the diss track Stunt 211, where Yuk and Domo tear g-unit a new one. Yuk also disses 50 on What's Beef and American Me is the best song on here. Planet Asia and Monstah Gunjah ripped Heat right along with Yuk and the reggae-inspired Top Shotta is fire. Get Stupid Go Dumb which features Mac Dre(RIP) and Sauce is a crazy joint plus that beat was sick. The album ends of with United Ghettos of America Part II which is superb. The Bad: We Just Wanna Thug(which features Dizzle Don and Nore) is a wack commercial joint plus anytime you feature Nore and Dizzle Don on a track it's bound to be filler. Wet Dreams sucks because even though most of the women Yuk mentions in the song are hot, nobody wants to hear about what you're going to do to them. I Love Dro(which features Bun B) is a bland smoke song plus somebody need to tell that girl on the hook who is talking about weed that she is not funny! The Ugly: Spin & Chop and The Side Show are two terrible commercial blunders that should have never made it to disc and Suga Daddy has the dumbest hook you've heard in a while. Bottom Line: while Vol. 2 of United Ghettos Of America is not better than the first, It is good follow up and I hope that they keep it real instead of keeping it commercial.
solid 2nd "Ghetto's" compilation from Yuk.......2007-02-15
Yukmouth brings the ghettos of America together one more time. All in all it is better than his first United Ghettos compilation (3.5 stars maybe just 3), not strong but not weak, has good songs, has bad songs, most are average or slightly better. If you are a fan of his pick it up, features about 40 rappers all together on the whole album besides himself, some are known and good, while others are basically unknown, and some are just plain horrible. The production is a little lacking on this as well keeeping it from a full 4 star rating. Yuk is on 16 of the 19 songs and has one solo. It has 5 ok songs and 4 I skip, with the other 10 being good. Production is decent, handled by Nan Dogg (5 songs), Mike Dean does 4, and Don Will, John Benny, J-Classic, MoBetta, Mark Sparks, E-Say, Shatiek all do 1 and Amin Johnson does 2. A good one hto have for fans of his only.
#2 - 7.5 (gonzoe, Tech N9ne, Yukmouth, Krizz Kaliko)
#3 - 7.5 (E-40, Crooked I, Yukmouth, Nat'e)
#4 - 8 (Noreaga, Dizzle Don & Yukmouth)
#5 - 7.5 (Yukmouth f/ Bun B & Nat'e --- about smoking good `Dro)
#6 - 9.5 (Domination - my favorite on here )
#7 - 7.5 (Yukmouth, Dru Down, Kieu, Nat'e)
#8 - 6 (Luni Coleone, I-Rocc, Yukmouth, Monsta Ganjah)
#9 - 8 (Yukmouth, Chino Nino, Young Noble of Outlawz, C-Bo)
#10 - 4.5 (Ms. Toi, Numskull of Luniz, Nyce)
#11 - 8.5 (C-Bo, Yukmouth, Richie Rich, Nat'e)
#12 - 3 Yukmouth, Gangsta Girl, Brando)
#13 - 7 (Menace Clan - pretty good acapella freestyle from one of their members in jail)
#14 - 6.5 (Chino Nino {who sucks}, Ampichino, Yukmouth, Nate da Nut)
#15 - 8.5 (Domination, yukmouth - getting on 50 Cent)
#16 - 9 (Yukmouth, The Jacker of Mob Figgaz, Cyco, Benjilino)
#17 - 8 (Yukmouth solo - about Yuk's dreams he has of females in the game)
#18 - 8.5 (Planet Asia, Monsta Ganjah, Yukmouth)
#19 - 6.5 (Sauce, Yukmouth, Mac Dre (R.I.P.))

One of the best compilations out now.......2006-10-30
Standout tracks:LA COSTRA NOSTRA, DEM CANT WIN, WELCOME 2 DA BAY(RIP Mac Dre), IM SO COOL, TOP THUGG(yuk shut it down!), DA LOT, DESPERADO, NO WAY, N THUGS WE TRUST(minus keek da sneak's verse), F**K FRIENDS(harsh subliminal diss aimed at Too Short&Master P), NEVA, MONEY MURDER&SEX, UNITED GHETTOES OF AMERICA(tight ending to a tight compilation)etc. Filler: Gunz and Rosez, Datz gangsta and We getting it(D-Don sounds like a Bizarre clone). Bottom Line: This is definetely a comp that is worth the money. Yukmouth and friends put a lot of effort into this project and it shows. If this compilation was promoted right it couldve broght the west back. Its better than that overhyped piece of s*** The Documentary.
Yukmouth, holdin' it down for the West!.......2005-10-01
For years Yukmouth has been one of the only one actually holdin' it down for the West and The Bay, really representin'. Ever since "Thugged Out" he became one of the biggest rappers in the West, if not the biggest (sellouts such as Snoop don't count). United Ghettos of America came out in 2002, a year after his classic "Thug Lord" album was released. These days, when a rapper releases a compillation, usually you get a weak a** product, with the rapper only trying to get some fast money - usually you get to hear the rapper on a couple of songs, a few guests stars here and there and most of the album filled with wack no-name rappers... Well, THAT'S NOT THE CASE HERE!! Yukmouth went on and made one of the best compillations ever, it's definite 5 stars album! First of all, Yuk is on 17 out of the 18 songs on the album!!... Second of all the production is just awesome. Producers include Don Juan, Mo Betta, E-A-Ski, Jazze Pha and a few lesser known dudes. As far as the rapping goes, Yuk went and got A LOT of stars for his album: Mac Dre, Numskull, Richie Rich, The Outlawz, Dru Down, C-Bo, MC Eiht, Brotha Lynch Hung, Keak Da Sneak, Messy Marv and many others. They are joined by some no-names, but they don't dissapoint as well. Yukmouth did a tremendous job, combining himself, the big names and the lesser known rappers over those tight-a** beats. You won't skip even ONE track. Out of all the guests (they all do a great job of course), two shine the brightest: Dru Down and Numskull (Num sounds hungry and full of energy, and he delivers one of his best verses EVER on "No Way", putting names of well-known Luniz songs throughout the verse)!... However, NOONE OUTSHINES YUKMOUTH! He came out his usual self on this one - a straight SAVAGE on the mic, thugged-out, with his "I don't give a fu**" attitude. Man, that boy can deliver some hard sh**!!... I think this album is perhaps even slightly better than his 3rd solo, which was released a year later (Godzilla), cause UGA is straight gangsta sh**. The sound has very high quality and it bumps hard as hell if you got a deccent stereo. I can't say enough about UGA1, just get it!! Compillations so tight are VERY rare these days (By the way this was the first release by Yuk's own label Smoke-A-Lot. It was distributed by Rap-A-Lot).
ok compilation by Yuk.......2004-12-01
Yukmouth put together a compilation bringing rappers from all over the U.S. Overall it is an average album, nothing too special, 5 songs I skip, 8 are ok, and the rest are above average, though there is no classic track on here. Yuk has 2 solo's and there is one song he isn't on. Production is handled by a buch of people and it also is nothing special. I'd only recommend it for huge fans of Yuk.

Savage.......2003-01-15
From the opening fire Yuk proves why he is a fire breathing dragon. When i first got the CD I figured it would just be another bass heavy album with weak production. But i'm glad to be wrong. THIS IS THE MOST SAVAGE ABLUM OF THE YEAR. The production on everysong is supertight. and every word he spits is pure art. Also he has the illest battle track ever. "F*ck friendz" about his beefs with 2short, scarface, and master p. I would by the cd for that song alone. compared to that song jay-z's "takeover" sounds like a kindergarten sand fight. this is battle rap for grown men
YUKMOUTH - STILL THUGGED OUT.......2002-11-03
ON THIS LIL ALBULATION, YUKMOUTH STILL DELIVERS HIS THUGGED OUT PERFORMANCE, EVEN THOUGH HIS STYLE HAS CHANGED TO HIS ORIGINAL SOUND. HE STILL HAS WHAT IT TAKES AND I FEEL HE IS UNDERATED AND IS GANGSTA RAPS BEST KEPT SECRET IN THE GAME. I THINK HIP HOP IS SCARED OF HIM. ON THE TRACK "F*CK FRIENDZ" HE LETS YOU KNOW ABOUT HIS BEEFS WITH TOO $HORT, SCARFACE, AND MASTER P. MANY DONT KNOW IS THAT YUKMOUTH WAS ASKED TO GHOST WRITE FOR SCARFACE ON HIS PREVIOUS ALBUM. THEN IN RETURN HIM AND SHORT AMDE REFERENCES TO YUKMOUTH. EVEN SO THE ALBUM IS NOT BASED ON ONE SONG, HE DELIVERS A GREAT PERFORMANCE ON "THE LOT". THE ALBUM IS A MUST HAVE. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THAT REAL GANGSTA S[TUFF] GO GET THUGGED OUT AND THUG LORD. GOOD ALBUM.

"United Ghettos II" Review.......2004-12-14
There aren't too many cats in the Bay doing it quite like Yukmouth. Taking a cue from independent bosses like E-40 and JT The Bigga Figga, Yuk is trying to pimp the indy game for all its worth. The second volume of his "United Ghettos" compilation series isn't shy on special guests. There's Norega, Crooked I, E-40, Dru Down, Spice 1, Eastwood, Tha Realest, Roscoe, Tech N9ne, Domination, Bun-B, Richie Rich, and C-Bo. And that's just a few. The adrenaline-fueled "Kill Em Of" featuring The Regime is too hot for words. "Kalifornia G'z" finds Yuk trading some mean verses with Crooked I and E-40. Yuk shows his pention for sparking the "sticky-icky" hasn't changed since his "I Got Five On It" days with another pro-reefer anthem titled "I Love Dro". Yuk joins up with disgruntled G-Unit fallouts Domination and Bang' Em Smurf to go after their former allies on "Stunt 211". Benjilino's awesome chorus on "On The Block" is pure gravy with quality verses from Yuk, Lil Cyco, and Jacka to boot. Yuk also updates Notorious B.I.G.'s underground hit, "Dreams" with "Wet Dreamz". More than a few rappers might take exception to this one. There is a little bit of filler here but all in all, it's a pretty sweet compilation. If you're even a minor fan of Yuk, you'll enjoy this one.
