Wake Up and Ball.......2000-12-20

The Comrads, signed to Mack 10's Hoo Bangin' Records, have put out a healthy LP. It just seems to lack a real hit record. The choruses are somewhat catchy, but only a few verses seem to stick in your head. The standouts are "Dem Comrads" and "Eazy Breezy" where the Comrads, Gangsta and K-Mac, don't take themselves too seriously and have fun with the tracks. With cameos and varied production, the album runs along smooth but it tends to drown you out with the same vocal deliveries and flow. If you liked this try other Hoo-Bangin records like MC Eiht's "'N My Neighborhood" and Mack 10's "The Paper Route."

The Comrads' single "Homeboyz" hits hard with a bangin, bass heavy window shakin beat and dope rhymes about stickin' together and ballin' together. It's a slammin track to roll up the avenue to! As they holla in the hook,"You can take the boy out the hood, but you can't take the hood out the homeboy." Peep serious westcoast game 'n copp dis one! In fact, you should get the whole album cuz there are a lot more bangin tracks on it!

The Comrads' debut is loaded with those west coastin' beats so hard, they'll knock the pictures off people's walls as you roll down the street. The album is loaded with hard rhymes, and bangin beats. The track "Homeboys" is a prime example. K-Mac and Gangsta's rhymes are on point, and the beat is hard knock. The album offers great rhymes, awesome tunes, and something for the player or party in you ("Hey You" "Call Me") Gangster in you ("Bustas" "Die Hard" "B----- Made N----"). and the hustler in you ("Big Ballers"). The production is tight on the album. The album is perfect for the lowrider.

Great West Coast Album.......2005-06-09

Gangsta and K-Mac are the members of the amazing duo, the comrads. This is their first rap member and I must say the quality here is superb. Tight production, good lyrics, and amazing flow makes this album a must have for any west coast fan, if you have it, get yourself a copy, you won't be disappointed!

"Better than expected".......2003-06-06

This was a great album, one of 1997's best. At first I thought this was going to be another lame attempt of two unknowns trying to live off the success of already established rappers - Ice Cube & Mack 10. But to my suprise, The Comrads debut stands up next to some of Cube's earlier work, & is way better than anything Mack 10 ever dropped. The standout tracks are 2) Die Hard, 4) Get at Me (Call Me), and 9) Homeboyz. Get this album if you haven't already, jus don't be duped in2 buying their 2nd album released on Mack 10's label.

One of the best out the West.......2001-05-12

No matter what side your from, this is one of the best cd's ever! From beginning to end, the tracks are hot! This is one of those cd's that you can just put on and let it play. As good as music gets.

Yo, The Comrads haven't been noticed by too many people yet but I say that they will become big if they stick with Mack 10 and keep on making cd's because this cd was tha bomb and once people listen to it they will be big.
