5 out of 5 stars this is one of the funniest albums u will ever hear.......2006-02-24

I first heard this album in 1988 or so, and I thought it was hilarious then and after hearing it for the first time after all these years parts of it still make me laugh. These guys seemed to be the first rappers to put funny skits in the opening of rap-songs. For example, the skit opening 'move somethin' sounds like it could be from any fruity sit-com, like 'married w/children' or 'everybody loves raymond'. The opening to 'S&M' makes me giggle anytime I think about it. I picture John Wayne saying 'here...gimme that whip...take that you dog' and the two live crew guy sounds like a cartoon character when he responds to the whipping, 'oowwww! oooohhh! ahhhh! yessss yeeessss!!!!'

Other gutbusters are when the crew remakes 'do wah ditty' and the kinks 'all day and all of the night' in 'one and one'. These guys were the Eddie Murphys of rap. Unfortunately, it is a very degrading album regarding women and I wouldn't purchase it because of that fact, but some of the skits are more funny than any stand-up comedian you will ever see. For other funny rap skits from this time period check out Ice-T.

I give this album five stars, because the parodies of other songs are hilarious and the skits, which only last a several seconds, are that funny, but like i said, i wouldn't buy it because most of the songs treat women much like beavis and butt-head would treat them, like worthless hookers.

5 out of 5 stars Back In 1988.......2001-05-06

Back in 1988, the 2 Live Crew released their second album and by far remains a classic in the world of Old School Hip-Hop and Miami Bass. This album is a classic for a lot of reason, first off this album isn't as controversal as their 1989 album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be". This was at a time when the 2 Live Crew weren't trying to push the limits on censorship yet. The standouts on this album are "Move Somethin'", "One & One", "Doo Wah Ditty" and "HBC". Also another thing to note, the song "Move Somethin'" was played through out the 1990 movie "Men At Work", you know the movie that stared Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez as two struggling garbage men in Miami, FL. Pretty much after 1988, Tipper Gore was all over these guys after the "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" album was release.

1 out of 5 stars Total Lunacy!.......2000-09-22

I was forced to listen this drivel at a party, and if I hadn't gone with a friend, I would have escaped. Instead, my ears were assaulted by this non-stop barrage of foul mouthed antics. I only gave it 1 star for the cover art (I MUST meet this woman!) and while that's extremely shallow, it's the only redeeming quality of this release. My advice: buy it, throw away the CD itself and enjoy the cover photo!

4 out of 5 stars WHAT A PARTY!.......1999-12-01

First and foremost- DO NOT TAKE THIS ALBUM SERIOUSLY! This is by-far the premire 2 Live Crew album to own. Almost every track is worthy of being on their greatest hits CD. Some stand-outs: Move Somethin'... is a FANTASIC song with exceptional rapping, good hooks, and great style; One and One... the catchiest and perhaps most hilarious of all the songs 2 Live has produced; S&M... the best song 2 Live has ever created, an anthem for all bachelor and frat parties for years to come. Again, this is a highly offensive, disgusting, and idiotic record... however, if you take it as it was designed to be interpreted, this album is funny-as-heck! THIS IS NOT BACH. Oh, yeah, this album would be 5 stars, although, I had to give it four so that I wouldn't consider myself completely foolish.

5 out of 5 stars Go back to britain.......2001-03-08

First of all, this first reviewer obviously doesn't realize that she is reviewing a c.d., and not an African American songwriting family tree. This song is worth buying because it is not of the new rap-styles of heavy beats and other strong electronica. Also, you can hear a young rapper from Cincinnati early on, before he gets big, and be able to say "Damn, I remember when he was coming up, now That was a good cd". Besides, The 'Nnati is about to blow up, get in on it while you can. first this, next RAM-Z, then who knows. Watch out Atlanta! So, for the first reviewer, spend less time boring us, and more time at the dentist.

1 out of 5 stars Someone needs to Slooooooooow down here....!.......2000-08-31

This CD has its moments but it's not the best of the best. I'm glad to say that Nonye Akuba was acknowledged for her part in this CD but I wish that it had been as good as Talib Kweli's other works. It lacks spark-appeal though the lyrics are pretty good and it is easy listening, which is saying something for when dealing with rap over all. It is still a one start song in my opinion but it is growing on me with each passing month.

5 out of 5 stars 2 Live Crew Move Something.......2003-03-03

This is possibly the best album by 2 live crew ever made.
Blow up bass followed with all out bad [...] mixing and some
fresh raps for that period in time. Listening to it brings me back to my childhood days of running the streets with my ghetto blaster and getting into all kinds of trouble. I give this album
        5 and a half stars.
