Gangsta Slimm.......2005-04-01

Four's Deuce's & Trays is a 1994 release from Big Boy. The same label from the boot that gave birth to Ghetto Twiinz, Mystikal and Fiend (well the more popular ones). The production is nothing like fellow Cresent City labels, Cash Money or No Limit. Produced entirely by Precise who combined that southern fried, West Coast feel with live instruments and guitar licks. G-Slimm's lyrics are all gangster with speed changing and tongue twisting as on "I'm The Problem". "...Dana Dane's shining / reminding / me of my front teeth..." said by G as he tales his story of leaving the west coast coming back to New Orleans on "Ain't Nobody Gafflin Me." This album features Mystikal and Black Menace on "Back On My Block" that ends with shot being rang out. Slimm started off well but began "Slippin' N Tha Darkness" by the time you get to track 8. Don't worry, because the others are strong enough to keep your interest with G-Slimm's gangster tales of coming up. R.I.P. G-Slimm
