5 out of 5 stars West Coast Greatness.......2007-02-22

In 1998, AWOL records was on top of their game. West Coast trippin' Vol 1 is the way a rap album should be done. Every track bangs. There was nothin' bad about this album. I've had two copies. This is probably one of AWOLs greatest recordings. And, whoever wrote that review dissin' this album, you don't know #### about real rap!

4 out of 5 stars Best Westcoast Compilation.......2003-10-28

this cd is real tight. it has all of the best awol artists ever and they are all tight. they come with the best flows from the west and with freddie smith behind controlling the switches in the backround you can't go wrong. all the flows from want some get some, killa tay in killa who and you will for sure wanna creep listening to 4 eva creep with that mysterious ass beat. there are not many perfect cds out there and if it was not for the very few space fillers this would be one.

This c.d. is a must get. I'm tellin you if you don't like this album you should probably switch the kind of music you like to country or something. This c.d. has the whole awol crew. (lunasicc,killa-tay,151,marvelles,c-bo etc....)

4 out of 5 stars One of the Best Bay Area Compilations.......2002-09-16

This is a great album, featuring the entire AWOL Records roster (back when it was recorded) -C-Bo, Killa Tay, Laroo, Pizzo, Marvaless, Lunasicc and more... The beats on the album are VERY good, and most of the rappers are above avaredge (although C-Bo is the only real star on the roster). The main thing that bothers me on this album, though, is that on all the tracks (except 4 and 15) you get too many artists on a track. I think the album would be much better if it had more solo or duet tracks so I can really feel and get to know the rappers. The way this compilation is done, you usually get a short verse from each one and that's untill the next song. And that's a shame, because they've got skills and this way they don't have a chance to really show them. Anyway, you can see AWOL put in a lot of effort, it's a very solid album, and you can actually listen to it from track 1 to 17, without skipping a song, and really enjoying the songs. Best Sac-town compillation ever.

4 out of 5 stars its good.......2002-05-04

buy it. its better than any mainstream west coast rap (dr. dre snoop dog) or anything from the east coast (insert name of east coast rap artist here!)

5 out of 5 stars Classic.......2003-11-12

I think this is AWOL's best album. It's an overall compilation that features all of it's artists with tight, hardcore beats. If you like 'Till My Casket Drops' and 'Mr. Lunasick,' then get this main. To those who have dissed 'West Coast Trippin 2,' yeah the album is short, but the songs bang (especially the first two.) To the person who wants one of these songs off the internet, just go buy the album and stop being cheap you mark.

3 out of 5 stars 2.6.......2003-10-28

this is barely better than a halfway decent album. this does not compare to the first one. first of all there is no Bo Loc or Lunasicc which is a big flaw. second there is only twelve songs, and lastly the beats are not quite as well produced however still good. most of the raps however are pretty good and some of the best songs are 1,2,4 and some others but this just seems like awol was kind of on its last legs on this album.

5 out of 5 stars A.W.O.L. roxxx.......2000-07-26

Well, Pizzo Killa Tay.... and the others are provin' that thay can kick it without Bo Loc and Lunasicc! Five stars for this perfect album. Goo lyrics and good beats (as all AWOL records).
