    5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable!.......2007-04-27

I been DJing for 13 years. I have over 35,000 records. Hard to believe but this CD is THE BEST compilation EVER released for old school style breakbeat "techno" (i hate that word). Every track on here is fire (except for the Smart E's)! I still rock this CD to get me amped almost 15 years after I first got it. All the tracks on here were rocked at all the early-mid 90s "raves" (i hate that word). If you're a DJ who uses Serato this CD is a must-have. I'd pay several hundred dollars to get all these classic joints on vinyl. Buy it. Rrr-Rrr-Rrr-Rrr-Roll the beats...

5 out of 5 stars still sik after all these years.......2005-02-24

I have to agree with most of the other folks here, this is a fantastic disc... and I also have to agree that the primary reason are the Acen tracks. Out of all of the different mixes that came out, these versions of "Trip II the Moon" and "Close Your Eyes" are still my favorites (and they are hard to find anywhere else), and they still kick SIK! and make me wanna jump up! which is pretty hard to do since I'm a jaded old-timer now. :)

I bought this five disc box-set ("Best of Techno") back in the day, but Volume 3 (this one) is my favorite one. Each disc was put out by Profile between 1991 and 1994 and many of the tracks are prerelease or rarer mixes, so it's a great collection.

But beyond the Acen tracks there are several great tracks here. The N.R.G. track, "I Need Your Love" has the famous Korgis sample from their 1979 pop track "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime". "I'm So High" by Eden Transmission takes me right back to wondering if that whispering voice was in MY head. :) Yes, there's that semi-famous Sesame's Treet song... but that one's a bit too "candy-raver" for me. But hey, an early Joey Beltram track, what more do you want? This disc is worth the money. Man, this disc is worth the money just for the two Acen tracks, seriously.

This compilation truly represents a high-water-mark from the dawn of breakbeat techno and many (if not most) of the tracks will still impress people today. If you're a breakbeat fan, buy it used (since I think they are out of print)... and it'll be the best $5 you'll spend on music this year, or any year.

5 out of 5 stars This is a MUST HAVE compilation........2002-05-16

This cd has an excellent variety of "early" rave and techno classics... including the infamous "Trip II the Moon" and "Close Your Eyes" (both by Acen.) These two tracks are worth the entire recording alone (and are rare as noted earlier.) They (esp. Trip II the Moon) were ahead of their time, and friends have a hard time believing they were made in 1993. The sounds presented on this compilation (for the most part) were cutting edge (and still are as they are very unique and have set the standard the even current techno tries to adhere to.) There are many lush styles that did not become "main stream" (in the Techno scene) until much later... i.e. breakbeat. There are even styles that have yet to be emulated, therefore making this CD sound just as modern (perhaps even more so) than most techno (and sub genres) of today, making this a very unique compilation. BUY THIS NOW!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Hit and Miss Dance Classix.......1999-12-31

You should get this cd for "Trip II the Moon" and "Close Your Eyes" because they are amazing trax and are very hard to find. I remember the first time i heard "close your eyes." they are 2 classic gems from the early 90s by Acen. Other highlights include the infamous "sesame street techno song"--"Sesame's Treet" and other early hardcore anthems.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT COMPILATION BUY IT.......1999-09-04

This was one of the first tapes i bought in '93 and i still lsiten to it... With all rave classics like Acen Close your Eyes, and Trip 2 the Moon and other outstanding tracks on this album i highly reccommend it to anyone!!!

5 out of 5 stars Great CD for the early 90's.......2001-05-31

When enlisted in the service in 91, I bought this CD for a pick me up. If you wanted to work out it was music that kept you motivated with that fast paced beat. That's why I am bying another, played the other to pieces. Would stongly reccomend!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Back in the day ..........2000-04-14

This used to be the only techo CD I had, back in 1992. I listened in awe for weeks. It has several landmark tracks, particularly Zeroxed and Bombscare. And a version of the revived HAMPSTERDANCE song!

5 out of 5 stars A classic example of early club music.......1999-03-28

A friend of mine gave me this tape and i stoped playing when the tape fell apart its a perfect example of the music we just dont get anymore

4 out of 5 stars a classic cd with classic techno tunes.......1998-12-07

this is a cd full of music at a time when there was not as much seperation and labelling on styles of music ... it was before jungle and happy hardcore were born and therefore has some classic raw choons.

4 out of 5 stars A time warp back to the dawn of the digital production age. .......2005-09-19

This is a fantastic album consisting of some of our founding fathers pushing the envelopes with new technology. A good archive to have in the collection for any Dance music enthusiast. Some real "classics" on this guy.

4 out of 5 stars Amazing Old School.......2000-01-26

This CD is an amazing compilation. The tracks by CJ Bolland, Phuture Assassins, Baby D, EQ, and of course the Prodg. The entire CD gives off the old school vibe, even though not all the tracks sound like the hardcore of 91-93. The music can really groove you, the bassline in Baby D's track is extremely infectious and Golden Girls by Kinetic has a very uplifting riff in it. This CD is definitely worth your money.

5 out of 5 stars This is by far the best techno album ever. No foul language.......1999-09-24

This is by far the best techno album I have ever heard. I love techno and have found no single compillation of techno as good as this. Another major plus in my book is the lack of sexually explicit material. Too many techno songs have various....interesting... lyrics which ruin a perfectly good song. Not these.

2 out of 5 stars Get some power!.......1998-11-15

Not the best I have heard but not the worst either. The only good song on the CD is by the only good Artists on the CD, Prodigy. If you like Prodigy then the one song for the price is worth it other wise spend your money on some food.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BASS CD, not like other bass cds.......2000-11-05

Its tough to choose, you will see many bass cds, but this is [CLASSIC] one everyone will like.

not only is this the excellent bass cd around, it has very good dance mixes. I bought this cd back in 94, and man, its awesome, play on your home stereo, you will see what i mean. This cd is excellent for car systems as well.

This is not just a big bass cd, its the mostly sub bass tunes, that you can just chill to, and whatever you feel like my friend. this is both bass and cool music. Excellent Variety of slow, fast, chillin, lyrical, techno, and clubbin tunes.
      ------
PS - There was a 2nd best of techno bass, i wasnt really fond of that one. Though the "street beat records, is quality stuff"

5 out of 5 stars One of the Best Bass CD's I have ever heard!!!.......2005-04-13

I must say that this is one of the best bass cd's that I have ever heard. My friend was the one that showed it to me and I instantly fell in love. I put it in my car and it sounded insane. If you get this cd you gotta have some really good subs to handle the kind of bass that it puts out. Anybody that wants some serious head turning bass get this cd. You will not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Buy this CD........2003-03-01

In the line of Bass Music it's hard to find any worth listening to. I totally disagree with the other reviewer. I've owned this cd for years as well as a few other of thier releases. The melody is all in the bass. There name sums it up pretty good. It's techno with bass. They are no Aphex twin, but this is bass music, not IDM. If you can point out a Techno Bass group that is better, feel free to do so.

1 out of 5 stars Pure incoherent drivel........2002-05-05

I recently purchased this CD because I am somewhat of a stickler for Bass music even though it faded out as quickly as it appeared -sometime in the mid '90s.

Unfortunately, though I'm a fan of this type of music, most bass groups, by far, are talentless and succeed only at incorporating the actual electronic computerized tones and deep, electronic bass beats together. As far as actually combining the sounds into any type of music, most bass groups fail miserably and Techno Bass Crew is no exception.

When the CD arrived, I was at awe with the cover album art and thought incorrectly that it would be a good indicator of the overall quality of the music and type of music of this album. Unfortunately, the album cover art comprises half of the one star that I rated this album. The other half is comprised of a few seconds of coherent and talented bass music scattered throughout only several songs on the entire album.

Best of Techno Bass Crew provided the deep electronic bass tones and cool computerized sounds that I was looking for. But they were combined so hetergeneously, talentlessly, and incoherently, that the end result was anything BUT music. Simply put, it is nothing but pure, unadulterated drivel and it should, thus, come as no surprise that the only place on earth that I could ever hope to find such a worthless group like Techno Bass Crew is at amazon.com.

Needless to say, I discarded the CD after listening to MOST of the songs (I couldn't bear to listen to the remaining) and didn't even bother asking for a refund. It only cost me several dollars, anyways, though I shouldn't have even paid a nickel for it.
