The Infamous Part 2.......2007-03-20
A year and a half after the release of the classic The Infamous Mobb Deep came out with another critically acclaimed follow up, Hell On Earth. While covering no new ground with their lyrics or topics its still a superb album that gave fans more of the same, which is what they wanted. Lyrically this album is probably a notch under The Infamous and because it came after it is rarely talked about in the same breath, although it is very nearly as good as its predecessor. Where they did step up was with Havoc's production, while the beats follow a similar eerie, haunting type of vibe they are not as sparse as those on The Infamous and are more Cinematic, particularly on the classic G.O.D Pt 3 which superbly samples the Scarface theme tune.
There are several other great tracks and guest appearances, Method Man is fire on Extortion, the title track is great, Still Shinin, Man Down, Apostle's Warning and pretty much every other track on here. Also a quick mention to Drop A Gem On Em, they were the only people to really diss Tupac back after his multiple disses at the end of Hit Em Up (and other tracks). Now while I am a Tupac fan i can fully understand why they chose to hit back at him as the situation was getting completely out of hand, im only surprised others didnt also, it is a good track anyway. A very near classic album that is surpassed in their catalogue only by The Infamous, pick up both of them to hear the definitive Mobb Deep.
Hellfire and Brimstone!.......2007-03-08
The kings of Queensbridge pull no punches on this awsome sequel to the classic "The Infamous." The production is even darker and more sinister than its predecessor, although the lyrical content is less deep and introspective, instead focusing mostly on guns and bloodshed. The entire album is excellent, but my favorite tracks are: "Animal Instinct," "Drop A Gem on 'Em," "Extortion," "More Trife Life," "Can't Get Enough of It," the raw "Nighttime Vultures" (Raekwon KILLS his verse), "G.O.D.," "Get Dealt Wit," the title track "Hell on Earth," "Give it Up Fast," and the closing track "Apostle's Warning." Hav and P must have made a pact with the Dark Prince himself to create such a HELLacious album! Along with "Infamous," this would arguably be the Mobb at their peak potential before they would slip into self-parody and gross mediocrity with their subsequent releases.
Average.......2006-08-28
I would say this cd deserves 3.5 stars. I wouldn't even feel too bad about giving it 4. But it got 3 because it really dissapointed me. I thought it would be a lot better than it is. I would agree with some of the other reviews that said that it covers the same overplayed topics as many other rap cd's: guns, women, crime, etc. There is definitely nothing groundbreaking about this cd.
At least tupac had a wider variety of song topics and incorporated different themes on songs such as Blasphemy, Hail Mary, Death Around the Corner. One could relate more to Tupac's albums because he often shares his internal struggles to do something with his life.

Classic.......2006-07-06
This album is a classic, there are no bad songs on here. This album has a real dark & grimey feel to it (which i love). This and "The Infamous" would be my 2 favourite Mobb Deep albums. I highly recommend this to all fans of rap. This is a must-have in your collection.

Dark hip hop album.......2007-06-21
Hell on earth is mobb deep's darkest album and its their third album not second counting juvinell hell which was weak in my opinion... Mobb used to be hungry in these dayz and the infamous was another classic but now ? Mobb sleep are sell outs. I wont be surprised if they have a tv show on mtv or hollywood. Shame.
Hell On Earth: Mobb Deep's second classic.......2007-02-16
Mobb Deep doesnt make albums like this any more. Havoc and Prodigy busting grimy raps over production that ranges from nightmarish(think Extortion), to suspensful(think More Trife Life and G.O.D. Part III) to laid back(think Animal Instinct and Hell On Earth). Many people talk about The Infamous like that was the only classic that Mobb Deep had. While The Infamous was a classic in its own right dont get it twisted. Prodigy and Havoc bust the most grittiest and most complex rhymes of their rap career on this album! Standout Tracks: ANIMAL INSTINCT, DROP A GEM ON EM(best subliminal diss ever), BLOODSPORT, EXTORTION(classic collabo with M E T H O D Man), MAN DOWN, NIGHTTIME VULTURES, G.O.D. PART III, HELL ON EARTH(killer title track), GIVE IT UP FAST and STILL SHININ. Filler: None. Bottom Line: Hell On Earth is Mobb Deep's best album next to The Infamous. Amazing rhymeshemes, slammin production(by Havoc who perfected his craft with this album) and the guest appearances shine right along with Mobb Deep. Check it out if you want to see Mobb Deep at their best.
FORGET ALL ELSE.......2006-11-02
Forget everything but this... this album is the hottest rap on CD. if you never heard it then you need to. So that you know what real rap is supposed to sound like.
Mobb Deep Fan Here.......2005-09-18
Hell on Earth Is Another Hot Mobb Deep Album And Its Right After The Infamous So You Know Its Great I Say Get This Album Mobb Deep Is The Best Group To Me
My Favorite 3 songs on cd is
1.Bloodsport
2.Man Down
3. G.o.d Pt 3
More Darker Than The Infamous .......2005-07-28
As they did with the Infamous, they brought us another girty and dark album with more polished production work from Havoc. Many Mobb Deep fans prefer Hell On Earth over The Infamous, but I think it was The Infamous that did it for me, as it had a little more depth and more passion. Not saying this album didn't have the same work put in, but saying that, this album had a lot of strong points also with an response from 2Pac's Hit Em Up where Mobb dare to diss the rap icon. Mob get extra billing for that, because not many would response (including the almight king of NY Biggie)

Finally a Messiah with fervor!.......2005-10-20
I've hunted a thrilling performance of The Messiah through 240 versions so far. This is the best I've found. Some are self-conscious, dutifully singing as instructed. Some are almost childish in their lilt. Some are overblown with so much bombast that you can barely hear the heart of the music. Some are concentrated on faithfulness to the original instruments. If you want a performance that will make you shiver with the power and joy of the music, this is the one. The singers are singing about GLORY. They sound as if they are ecstatic. The musicians are at one with the music and they create a virtual cathedral wherever this CD is played, just close your eyes. Or, let your own imagery, be it celestial, or of great oceans...carry you away.
Great recording!.......2003-09-22
There are so many performances of the Messiah out there that it is very difficult to point to a difinative one, but I'd put this in the catagory of the "very good" ones. As other reviewers have said, every performance is different and has its own character. Each has stronger and weaker points. Here the conductor and musicians have made good, solid musical choices. There is an amazing attention to detail which is not so obvious the first listen through but which makes the piece shine. The tempos seem to be right on, and there is no frivolous over-embellishment by the soloists. There is no attempt to be showey. The dramatic dynamics in the first section of the overture are interesting, but seem to work after you hear it a few times. This performance also includes sections which are often omitted (Second half of "He shall feed his flock," "Thou art gone up on high," "Great was the company of the preachers," and "Death where is thy sting"). I prefer the more intimate quality of a small ensemble of musicians to the mega-performances by the London Philharmonic, Vienna State Opera Orchestra, etc.. As with this performance, the smaller group lends a clarity to the music, where the larger ensembles can get a little "muddy" at times. Just my personal preference. Overall, this is a very good performance, and certainly the low price (being on the Naxos lable) makes this a clear choice.
Good and Bad.......2000-04-09
I was more interested in "The Messiah" for the religious content than as a music critic, but this was too much. The strings are tinny. The orchestra is plodding. The soloists and choir are thankfully very good and seem to understand the meaning of the words. It is a shame the sound mix is uneven. The male parts come across loud and clear, but the poor women. For instance, No. 9 Oh thou that tellest..., the soloist sounded like she was singing in an echo chamber far from the mike. This is one of the most disappointing versions of "The Messiah" I have heard in a long time.
This is a great recording!.......2000-02-11
I was really surprised with the new that the Messiah's New World premiere was held at Trinity Church in October 1770, twenty-eight years after it was written. This fact only will make one proud in having this CD among his collection.
Anyhow, this is nothing more than a historic detail and would not count if this recording had not an outstanding first-rate ensemble of singers. Without doubt there is no definitive version of Messiah. Each one has its own distinctive touch and feeling and exploring it is always a pleasant journey through imagination.
As stated by the conductor: "we must concede that performing Messiah with twenty singers and an appropriately balanced instrumental ensemble represents, at best, an imperfect comprimise", it will be easy to understand that this recording does not stand among the greatest and will probably carry some imperfections. I will mention two that kind of disppointed me a little bit. The Overture and the Chorus Worthy is the Lamb, for some reason misses the habitual vigor and strenght. Everything else is great and this is definitely a worth buying.

Invigorating, fresh, and faithful........2006-10-29
Randy Miller has pulled off the near impossible: emulating Chris Young's indelible Hellraiser music while keeping the notable action tendencies of the film in mind. Almost from the get go Miller infuses his opus with a spark of urgency and forward momentum. He does bring the tempo down from time to time and the results are equally enjoyable. Though not as through-composed as the scores for Hellraiser and Hellbound, Randy Miller provides the listener with over 45 minutes of wonderful symphonic fireworks. Bravo!
P.S. I'm not sure if 95% of the other reviewers on this page know it or not, but this is not the place to wax philosophical about the FILM Hellraiser 3. This is a page for the soundtrack and therefore the above cumulative star rating is null and void and unrepresentative of the quality of the SCORE.
good Soundtrack, boring film........2002-07-29
This film is so far the lesser of the HELLRAISER films, but the soundtrack CD for this film is not bad. I like the music track for HELLBOUND the mote. i think that one is the best one.
Just a Cliche.......2000-05-08
What started as a great story in Hellraiser got ripped to shreds in this installment. The premise is shotty, the characters one-dimensional, and poor Pinhead, reduced to doing one-liners in rather cheezy make-up (the pins wiggle when he talks). And the new monsters are more comical than anything. It's no wonder Clive doesn't do anymore movies in which he doesn't write and direct.
NOT TOO GOOD.......2000-05-07
THE ACTING IN THIS MOVIE IS THE WORST IVE EVER SEEN IN A LONG TIME.IT GETS KINDA COOL IN ABOUT AN HOUR INTO THE MOVIE
Pretty Good.......2000-04-17
This CD is quite different from the two previous Hellraiser soundtracks. The first two were pure horror music, dark, slow, imposing this one is like a combination of horror with action music. It is not quite as good as parts 1 and 2, but it has some great moments (such as Gothic Rebirth, Mind Invasion, The Devil's mass) and is highly recommended to fans of dark film music.

interesting album.......2005-12-23
4.5/5 stars
Don't bother comparing this to hatebreed, poison the well, killswitch engage or any of that 'popular' metalcore junk - this sounds absolutely nothing like them - the only comparison Could be made in the vocals. They do have an aggressive sound to them but the guitar work is too interesting to sound anything like your run of the mill tough-guy hardcore. The song structures are also more complex than your normal metalcore bands & there are also more time signature changes within the songs. My only complaint is the riffs on a couple of the songs I find a little annoying and some people may find the vocals annoying.
standout tracks - bring out your dead, american hollow, misery dance, valley of solitude
The 'bouncy' breakdown bit at the end of 'bring out your dead' just kicks ass and the drumming is great too
Great Buy!.......2005-08-12
This album is not anything you haven't heard before, but is definently worth the buy if your into metalcore type music. It's very fast and technical. They don't nescissarily sound like the following bands, but if your a fan of them I think you'd appreciate Martyr AD: As I Lay Dying, Eighteen Visions old stuff, Atreyu
brutal metal.......2005-07-13
this is a great band that is way more agressive than regular metalcore. there are great guitar riffs the screaming is good and the drums are fast and pulse pounding. Bring out your dead and misery dance are the best songs. this gets 4 stars because the filler on the cd is crap like serpent and the flower and last words of any meaning.
The best American metal!.......2005-06-15
Martyr AD has definitely taken it to the next level on this album. Their first record was solid but this one catapults them into the upper echelons of American metal. What clearly sets this record apart is their complex take on domestic metal. It's a style that builds on the strengths of that sound while incorporating the best elements of some of the biggest names in foreign metal.
The core of their sound is masterfully executed tempo changes that sound crushing at all the varying speeds these guys utilize. Here they manage to weave from big, brutal breakdowns, many tinged with tasteful Sepultura "Arise"/"Chaos AD" era lead guitar riffs, to straight out blazing attacks, not unlike a hardcore version of Carnal Forge, and back again. While this is the bulk of their approach they do mix in a little melodic death in a few areas, sounding somewhat like Darkest Hour at those times, and like their earlier incarnation, Disembodied, they continue to mine the rich vein of offbeat harmonics to great affect. These techniques, in conjunction with the unique take on breakdowns and pentient for all out hardcore blasts mentioned above, keeps the music fresh and interesting. All of this is delivered in an aggressive, take-no-prisoners approach that leaves you in a strange hold for the entire album.
Not being content with one Sepultura comparison, you can't help but hear that the vocals are absolutely dripping with Max Cavelera like venom. Put this package all together and it's easy to see why these guys are a force to be reckoned with.
Check out more reviews at ohboydestroy.
pure metal.......2005-03-16
Sure, a bunch of you have critisized the vocals on this album, but lets call a spade a spade on this one. Sure Killswitch and others have the talent behind the mike to expand their musical style, Slayer have two of the best guitarits ever to wield a pick in Hanneman and King, but this album is just pure blazing metal. This genre of music wouldnt sound right with melodic singing (picture Howard Jones from Killswitch taking over screaming duties for Raised Fist). Just like most of the offshoots of hardcore today, the talent is behind the guitars and drums and not for its technicality, but the speed in which the guitarists picking hand is moving at and the pace at which a double kick pedal is pounding the skins. Give this album a listen, if only to get out some pent up frustration.

Awesome Clevo Hardcore!.......2005-05-26
Late 90's underappreciated metal-influenced hardcore... and it rules! Definitely for fans of Integrity, Ringworm, OLC, Cold as Life, Sick of it All, etc. Integrity fans; if you hated Integ2000, pretend it never existed and consider this a continuation of "Seasons". It'll seem like Integrity never skipped a beat.
a let down.......2000-02-17
After listening to the song "lost in doubt" Irushed into buying the album.A mistake, because "lost in doubt" is the only really good song and it appears in a victory compilation. The rest is not that bad, but NOT good either.Overpriced too.
NYHC till I die!!!!!!!.......1999-07-25
I saw this band live in 007 club in Prague. It was probably on of the best performances I have ever seen.I didn't know them before, but the second they touched their strings I knew I'm in the rigt place. All people there, straight edge kids, vegans, punks, NYers were so stoked, they wanted more even if the band played all of their songs, half the Integrity songs, and also one from Iron Maiden . People just shouted" I want more of thist shovelhead HC". And that's exactly how this band sounds. Mixed between Kassel Crew german Ryker's type and Madball, it's metal as it gets. It just makes you want to go out and kick in our unfair world!!!

Too much trouble was one of the RAP-A-LOT groups of the early 90s they consisted of 'GHETTO MC','Drunk D','Bar None',and 'Bad News Black'.I consider the original "bringinng Hell on Earth" a classic. This one here is a
rap a lot chopped and screwed version. I cant say that rap a lot is great at chopping and screwing. It was OK but not great,I think this album should have been left alone THE ORIGINAL RECORDING was a bangin album.

Customer Reviews:
The first CD of next up and coming band !.......2003-10-06
Whatever the Hell on Earth that the band is confronting Euthanasia, domestic violence, drug abuse, etc. Hell on Earth takes that problems of society and makes you deal with it with their aggressive and talented guitar work, pounding drums, and state-of-the-art sampling and quality sound.
Hell on Earth was was an instant favorite as soon as I heard the CD.
I can't wait for the third album !!!
Oooooo, aren't we spooooooookky and creeeeeeeeeeeepy? LOL.......2003-10-06
As a previous reviewer said, if the option of zero stars was available, I would say they merit a grade " less than zero ".
Fifth rate Nine Inch nails/Marilyn Manson wannabes ( Manson and NIN, i like; they're talented! ) who have to resort to childish stage pranks and jerk the tasteless meter on the lyrics to get attention they obvioulsy aren't going to get with talent. Speaking of the lyrics, these is an example of extremly poorly written, badly phrased writting at its worst. It's as if the ass clown vocalist simply thought " Okay, i'll just name off as many offensive things as possible and say all the dirty words my mommy wouldn't let me say when I was a kid." The song titles just scream " Look at me! Aren't i just so eveil and scary?" Piffle. And the music? Well, if you're one of the many teeny-boppers wanting to piss off Mom and Dad with Slopknot-esque unoriginality, this is the group for you. In a perfect world, a giant rat would but the members of this band into a huge blender and....well, you know the rest.

I love all the music I have heard from Hell on Earth , I hope I can see them live.
Old School CD.......2003-10-05
I have had this CD for several years now and it is still in the front of my cd case in my car. I am from Tampa Bay but moved out to Las Vegas last year. I saw a couple of Hell on Earth shows when I was still living in Tampa and Hell on Earth and Billy the lead singer is one freaky looking and WILD, best live show around! They even did a benefit for a victim of domestic violence one show I was at. Billy gave her the money from benefit on-stage near the end of the show , Haven't heard about that in all the press about them this week. I listen to this CD all the time , Hell on Earth is a great band.
What a ride!!.......2003-10-05
I just got this cd delivered in the mail. Hell on Earth starts off fast as hell and finishes even faster than hell!
I like it alot very agressive! This is a perfect Cd for the gym or just when you need to get out some agrression! Jamming band !!!
