5 out of 5 stars Great game, even better soundtrack!.......2007-01-03

I will admit, after purchasing this game, I found myself sitting in front of my Playstation hearing 3,2,1, GO! and then placing the controller on the ground in front of me listening to the great music coming from my 13" TV. After a while, the game simply became a visual to a near perfect soundtrack. If you enjoy heart racing, adrenaline pumping electronica then this is the soundtrack for you. Highly recommended however Coffee + This Album may = excessive speed on the road. Buy at your own risk :)

5 out of 5 stars Required listening for EDM fans.......2005-05-12

If you are into electronic dance music this CD not just a good album, but required listening. Actually it's great if you are just starting into the genre and want to hear the music that catapulted it. Based on a video game soundtrack Wipeout XL takes what the Playstation game (Wipeout 2) did with the music genre and moved it another level. The Wipeout 2 games was heralded as not only an excellent arcade racing game, but a game that had one of the coolest soundtracks ever. This is because the game designers decided to get a broad range of artists together on their game project. The result was a video game with a soundtrack that defined electronic music in the 90's.

What Wipeout XL did was take that style of music and put it on a CD so people can just pop it in and jam without having to either rip the tracks off the game or play the game cd on a stereo system. There are track differences between the two. For one the games staff writer, Cold Fusion, doesn't have any tracks on it so that takes out two songs. From there a couple other songs were replaced for whatever reasons (personally I think Future Sound of London's Herd Killing is just too dissonant for anything but a title scroll for the game). But don't fret, because what they replaced them with is definitely worth your while.

Some of the new tracks on this CD are exclusive to this CD only. That's right. Exclusive mixes. I don't mean crappy freak mixes that don't deserve proliferation I mean some killer mixes that you MUST have in your collection. Here's my opinion on some tracks:

ATOM BOMB and V-SIX by Fluke is not the regular version. It's one of those exclusive versions I was talking about. And this is the coolest mix of Atom Bomb I have ever heard (and I heard lots). Totally new beat and feel, but definitely the same song. V-Six is an exlusive song you won't find anywhere but here. Not even remixes. It's aggressive and driven like a lot of his dancier tracks. The CD is worth getting for these two tracks alone.

LOOPS OF FURY and LEAVE HOME (Underworld Mix) By Chemical Brothers, while not exclusive mixes, they are songs you won't find on any of their albums. They were released on singles only. Either way Loops of Fury to me is the ultimate big beat song. Powerful drums on top of a driving bassline with a mess of fun noises dancing around the groove. Leave Home is just powerful, but more minimalist. Still great on the dance floor. This CD is worth it for these two tracks alone (Did I just repeat myself? See where I'm getting at?).

2097 by Source Direct can only be found on the Wipeout CD's (game and XL CD). At least it's not on any of their albums. It's some crazy drum and bass that you might not be able to dance to, but it sure is interesting listening to what do they the instruments.

Other good tracks (not exclusive) are Orbital's P.E.T.R.O.L., Future Sound of London's WE HAVE EXPLOSIVE (very popular), and the lyricless FIRESTARTER by The Prodigy. TIN THERE and MUSIQUE are a little repetitive but manageable. Photek is very much like Source Direct, only not as interesting in their drum-&-bassiness.

If you are just getting into modern electronic music then this would be a perfect primer for you. If you have been into it for a while there are some tracks here worth getting that are either not that easy to find or you just won't find elsewhere. Either way this is an excellent CD that's worthy to be in your collection.

2 out of 5 stars Not as good as the original.......2003-11-07

Basicaly the only decent stuff I see here are tracks 1,4,7 and 8. Seven is the coolest theme ever - the one from the WipeoutXL game intro video(the whole reason I got this CD) and the first track is also mixed in there somewhere. Number 4 is just a more or less decent techno track, while 8 is Prodigy's "Firestarter" without the vocals. Track 2 was a dissapointing dulled-down version of Fluke's "Atom Bomb"(I'd give the CD 4 stars if they just put the excellent original one). So there you have it, unless you desperatly want the WipeoutXL intro flick music which wasn't included on the game CD - don't bother. Better get the WipeoutXL game itself - it's out for PSX and PC and has the great game and music all in one(skip the first data track). You can also play the PSX version with an emulator and get the same resolution. But the PC version is the best.

5 out of 5 stars State-of-the-art electronica.......2003-06-10

To call this a "techno" CD is misleading. Sure there's some of that, but this is really a genuine electronica CD with the likes of Photek, Source Direct, et al making an appearance with some, shall we say, unique tracks.

Electronica today (2003) isn't quite what it used to be back when it was new and clearly still experimental and at the top of its form. This 78:18 CD offers up some classic tracks that will last forever. I have a lot of CDs from various electronica artists that have songs on this compilation (Fluke, FSOL, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy) and others that don't (namely Crystal Method) and they're all great but none quite capture the diverse essence of what electronica can encompass. This is that CD!

The version of Atom Bomb on here is a cleaned-up AND remixed version of the original on Fluke's own Risotto CD. None of the other reviews really pointed that out.

4 out of 5 stars Ha ha ha ha... WIPEOUT!.......2002-07-25

When I bought this however many years ago, nobody bothered to point out to me that it was the soundtrack to a game. But perhaps that's the greatest compliment anybody could give it--that the music stands on its own without any hard-sell.

Maybe you bought 'Exit Planet Dust' but if you missed out on the Chemical Brothers' (in my opinion) best single "Loops of Fury", you could atone buy picking up this disc. The instrumental version of "Firestarter" is better than the original, and "PETROL" is not representative of the Orbital album ('In Sides') it comes from, but still kicks.

The whole 'Electronica' wave was over-done and rightfully put in its proper place on the musical scheme of things, but in retrospect, there were some singles you had to own, and this is a superb compilation of them.

Made to be booming out of your convertible, even if it's a k-car.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome........2007-02-13

I really enjoyed this soundtrack. It brought back a lot of memories of sneaking up behind people in the game, and is definitely one of my more played soundtracks. The sound is very distinctive, and the compositions are incredible; Amon Tobin's mastery of sound shows in every piece.

4 out of 5 stars AK47.........2006-07-18

This CD is spine chillingly brilliant. Relighting memories of hiding in the shadows, and lurching out at your unsuspecting enemies. It's only once you have heard Amon Tobin's work, without being chased by an AK47, that you can really start to appreciate every aspect of this masterpiece. It makes you feel emotions that would never see the light of day in normal music. Simply outstanding! A must buy for a Splinter Cell fan, or for someone that has never played the game. You can't go wrong, in feeling something for this.

4 out of 5 stars Chaotic Indeed..........2006-06-25

I love the title "Chaos Theory". Bit of a contradiction, innit?

Having had this album now for some time, since its release date anyway, I can confirm 2 things:

a) It's still mind bendingly different

and

b) It's absolutely brilliant.

This is quite a departure for Mr Tobin. Being a sound pincher a la DJ Shadow and other Ninja Tune stable mates, it must have been quite a challenge to make this album, considering that it is an album created by REAL musicians. Even more of a challenge considering that they all spoke completely different languages and the two brothers that worked on the record didn't get along (see sleeve notes and various internet reviews). And how did Amon get them to make the sounds he wanted if he himself is not a musician? Did he whistle them? Did he fart them? HOW? Thats what he leaves me wondering after every record. How?

This is the only score (not soundtrack) that I have repeatedly listened to ever, and that goes for films too. It's extraordinary how Tobin manages to bring together a group of instrumentalists to create the sound he has, which is where his studio engineering comes into play, I guess. Chances are we wont see a live show of this.

This is essentially a dark, broody, paranoid, schizophrenic sound murdering excercise that has probably been accentuated due to heavy bouts of weed smoking. A remarkable factor of this album are the things that you think you heard, but are not quite sure. Felt bass rather than heard bass has been an Amon trade mark for a while and he plays with this throughout. The arrangement and complexity of the beats are unprecedented for a pop band setup (anybody care to challenge this?) and I dare anybody to listen to it and NOT feel something. Be it panic, paranoia, power (end of El Cargo), you will feel something. Probably nauseous.

Amon's love of jazz really shines through on this record and I find it subtly blending bits of Permutation with Out from Out Where (Kokubo Sosho Stealth) a real treat to the ears.

Mr Tobin makes it clear that this is NOT a 6th album (incl. Cujo), so just enjoy it for what it is. It doesn't get five stars because it is missing the one essential ingredient that his best album (Permutation) has: a wickedly dark sense of humour that makes you want to chuckle and hide at the same time.

Look at that. An review about a game soundtrack without a mention of the game. Times are a changing. Will it be the case that some day a score for a film will totally outshine the film itself? Who knows, but Amon has finished the score to a film called Taxidermia. I don't have a clue what the film is about, but the score is good though...

5 out of 5 stars Simply Breathtaking.......2005-07-27

Prior to the Playing of SC: Chaos Theory, i didn't even know who Amon Tobin was, and boy was I missing out. Soon after hearing the in-game music, I did some investigating and found out who the artist was. I can tell you that after getting this CD, I love every single track on this disk. The dark, moving melodies can almost draw you into a different world and stir up different emotional reactions within you. If you are even a passing Amon Tobin Fan, this CD is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Amon Rocks Again.......2005-06-03

I've loved Amon's work for years and this is no exception to the high-octane high quality music this guy seems to effortlessly perfect album after album.
For those who know Amon's work, this is a little more `accessible' than his older stuff but don't let that put you off. But for those who don't know it, maybe for the gamers, this is the ideal gateway into his world.
His talent is something to behold, and he reaches new levels with the full orchestra behind his beautifully choreographed strings, samples and heart-breakingly fast beats.
The first track kicks off with a fantastic hard-core riff that promises deeper and darker paths ahead. I'm not much of a gamer, so I can only imagine that the images conjured by the music match and enhance the game to no end. Like walking through a spider-web and the horror dawning on you that you're the prey.
Theme From Battery is one of my favourites, slow and atmospheric, bleeding into the next track with more familiar break beats and industrial sounds. El Cargo is haunting and eerie, letting Displaced slam huge steel doors behind you as you run for cover.
This is total Tobin, at his very best. What I love about it is that I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who knows serious music when they hear it.

5 out of 5 stars This is a must have.......2003-03-19

The Ragtime pieces in the beginning are really *very* good and imaginative. I realized while listening that the composer that wrote for the early Loonie Tunes cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny *must* have been thinking of this music when he wrote his. Considering the time period, this thought makes perfect sense. The music manages to capture the zietgeist of Ives' world yet stands as a timeless expression of what it is to live. This is such extraordinary writing and is captured with some of the best playing I have heard of Ives since Bernstein.

5 out of 5 stars Some valuable "Critical Edition" performances here........2003-01-05

James Sinclair, for many years, has been associated with the music of Charles Ives, through both the Charles Ives Society and his work with the Ives Library at Yale University. So it should surprise no one (well, no Ivesian) that any performances of the music of Ives that Sinclair commits to disc will be authoritative.

That is certainly the case for this Koch Classics release, in which Sinclair conducts the Orchestra New England, formerly the Yale Theater Orchestra and a group that understands Ives performance practices as well as any; they've got this music in their blood. Better yet, every Ives piece on this CD is either [a] a world premiere or [b] a first recording of a Charles Ives Society critical edition, prepared either by Sinclair or by Kenneth Singleton, Sinclair's colleague.

To me, the most important piece on this CD is the version-for-small-orchestra performance of a true Ives masterpiece, his "Three Places in New England" (also known as his "First Orchestral Set"). Much of Ive's music was never performed within his lifetime, except for his (largely) private benefit, on those occasions when he would pay the musicians of a small "theater orchestra" out of his own pocket, just so he had some idea of what his compositions would sound like. Fortunately, "Three Places in New England" is one work that was. But not in its original form, for large orchestra. As Sinclair makes clear in his booklet notes, Ives - at the request of Nicolas Slonimsky - rewrote the work for small orchestra (Slonimsky's Boston Chamber Players), who premiered the work in this form in 1931. (Slonimsky then concertized in Europe with the music of Ives and other "moderns - Cowell, Ruggles and Varèse to name three - in a tour that included Slonimsky's conducting of the Berlin Philharmonic, a separate saga unto itself.) This critical edition largely restores the "for Slonimsky" chamber orchestra version at the same time that it cleans up many errors that were the result of Ives's doing the transcription under conditions of time pressures and poor health. Heard in this form, "Three Places" is truly a revelation in terms of how the textures are clarified and cleaned up and thus how the individual instrumental lines are permitted to "sound" without their being submerged in the background of a large symphony orchestra. Nowhere is this more evident than in the final movement of "Three Places": "The Housatonic at Stockbridge." Some call this Ives's very finest work, and I'm not of a mind to argue with them. Its initial quiet impressionism soon overwhelmed by full orchestral dynamics, only to have the full orchestra stop while leaving just soft strings at the very end, is a sublime example of Ives at his transcendental best. And I've never heard it performed (or sound) better than it does in this "Critical Edition" performance for small orchestra, surely in a form very close to its first performances by Slonimsky.

All of the works on this album can be considered "early" works, in that even the newest ("Three Places in New England") almost "makes it" into the first fully-productive decade of Ives's life as a composer. It is actually a canard - and an unfair appraisal of Ives the composer - to state that his music became more complex, both harmonically and rythmically, as he grew older. He wrote complex works as a relatively young man, and simple works as he got older. The "long arc" of his work was not from "the simple to the complex" but from the "commonplace (in terms of its materials, not its complexities, for which rhythmic and harmonic complexities abounded) to the ultimately transcendental, whether simple or complex."

Thus, on this album, we have the near-contemporaneous juxtaposition of a rather "Brahmsian" style of the early "Postlude in F" (but not without its Ivesian harmonic touches) and the riotous "Calcium Night Light." And, over an equivalently short span of time, we have the "Set of Four Ragtime Dances" set against the far more modern-sounding 1906 "Set for Theatre Orchestra," wiith its near-atonal (but very impressionistic) "In the Cage" (at barely a minute and a few seconds, a minor masterpiece). And, from the same period, the lovely "Largo cantibile" Hymn" with a beautiful cello solo.

Aside from my earlier comments on the beauty of "Three Places in New England" in terms of its small-orchestra setting, it can further be said that every work on this album benefits not only from the editorial scrutiny of Messrs. Sinclair and Singleton, but from the superb playing of the Orchestra New England througout. Fine sound, too.

The booklet notes state that Jim Sinclair arrived at Yale in 1972, and that he founded the Yale Theater Orchestra in 1974. This would have been a most propitious time for founding it, inasmuch as it was the year of the Ives centennial. It was also the year in which - on August 17 - Jim Sinclair and Ken Singleton were involved in an Ives centennial celebration concert on the lawn of Charlie's house in West Redding, CT, performing a few Ives premieres on that occasion with a mutual friend, Paul Winter, and his Consort. (Yes, THAT Paul Winter!) Thus, while Leonard Bernstein and Michael Tilson Thomas were celebrating the Ives centennial in a BIG way (in Danbury, Ives's birthplace but a town which he had largely put behind him when an adult), Jim Sinclair and Ken Singleton and a few surprisingly unusual friends - from a strictly musical standpoint - were having their own Ives centennial on Charlie's lawn, in a manner that I think Charlie would really have liked. I'm one who is fortunate to have a souvenir program from that concert. Charlie would have loved the program, too.

5 out of 5 stars A Well Lit View of Ives.......2002-07-28

I was skeptical about this disc. Since I already owned every work on it, in one way or another, I just kept walking past it. But just like the Ives disc "When the Moon...", this disc offers up a glimpse of many of the Ives minitures that are not to be had elsewhere. Done by a chamber orchestra, which vividly brings out all the quirkiness and crazy-quilt Americana that can be buried with larger ensembles, the music here is brisk, profoundly well detailed and irresistable. Sinclair and the New England Orchestra, do justice to every note, making this CD a perfect adjunct to any Ives collection. In fact, I would consider it an essential for any Ives fan. Don't be put off by the cover you see above. This is a serious disc, and well worth the purchase. You can thank me later.

5 out of 5 stars My Rosetta stone for Ives.......2001-08-26

For years I'd been intrigued by Ives' music but had been stymied and ultimately put off by the knottier passages (which are many!)...Not for lack of trying or wanting to understand - no Rollo I! - I just didn't know what he expected me to make of all that "good strong dissonance." Whereas, say, Stravinsky's (even Schoenberg's) famously "dissonant" music generally communicated to me pretty readily, Ives' didn't. Was it SUPPOSED to feel inscrutable? Or was there something else to get out of it? How was I supposed to parse it? Well, this recording was a sort of Rosetta stone for me. The early pieces here - the 'Country Band' March and the Ragtime Dances particularly - filled in the gap that I'd felt for so long, the missing link between Ives' music and the popular music which hovers in and around almost everything he wrote. These pieces are, essentially, "take-offs" of standard forms (as per the titles): outlandishly adventurous for their time (and thoroughly amusing) but nonetheless relatively down-to-earth compared to Ives' later works. The Ivesian outbursts and distortions are here more clearly etched against their contexts and are therefore, to my ear, far easier to swallow. (An slight case of mixed metaphor, there, but let's move on.) The recording then offers the chance to see how Ives reworked the same material in more elaborate and obscure ways - "Putnam's Camp" incorporates the 'Country Band' March; "In the Inn" recasts one of the Ragtime Dances. Not to mention that the 4 Ragtime Dances are a fascinating chance to hear Ives work over essentially the same materials in four different ways. One can't help but begin to understand Ives' idiosyncracies (how he livens up a dull harmony with some extra dissonance, or a dull rhythm with some unexpected jerks and starts.) I would recommend supplementing these pieces with a recording of the First Piano Sonata, which, again, reuses much of the Ragtime material, but all in all aims for something much loftier. After having heard this recording I found that I was able to listen much 'deeper' into the First Piano Sonata - a profoundly satisfying experience. That in turn led me to a fuller appreciation for the celebrated Second Sonata, and from there the rest of Ives' output suddenly seemed entirely accessible. Well, a lot of it, at any rate. Perhaps I'm making this recording sound as though it's merely some sort of music appreciation tool; let me be entirely clear: this music is terrific in its own right. What I AM saying, in fact, is that even if you've already decided Ives isn't for you, you still ought to give this recording a chance. To the best of my knowledge, most of this material is unavailable on any other recording (this is, incidentally, an interesting smaller orchestration of the "Three Places" than the familiar version), and regardless, these are excellent, thrilling performances. Highly recommended.

My friend let me use his tape in 1990 cuz I had 6 10's in my car...I was the only kid with a system in his car @ school!!! I still bang this album to this day. You want BASS, Ya got BASS, This CD is a must have!!!

4 out of 5 stars Lower Than Dynamite........2005-10-23

There are some tears in my eye. I decided to throw the baby out with the bath water. My Christianity deemed it necessary that I throw away all my tapes, to much cussing and violence, but the Bass music should have stayed (I think).

There were 2 versions of Lower Than Dynamite, one with a rap on top of it (MC Madness, he was fairly decent better than RX Lord, by not T Issam or whatever his name was). Both version were as we used to say the bomb. I loved this album, but I cannot give it a 5, the 5 is reserved for one Bass album and that is Ain't No Doubt About It. The album has to me what has to be the greatest Bass song of all times Feel the Bass 3. Please see my review of that album. I will spill all I think of Bass music there.

5 out of 5 stars Years ahead of its time.......2005-09-13

I remember picking this up years ago and I still listen to it today Magic Mike is one of the greatest DJs of all time utilizing James Brown era funk and a serious old school vibe this will be in your player for years to come. Mike opened the door for rappers like ludicris and trick daddy but never really got the credit he deserved. If you do not own a Magic Mike album you are seriously missing out this is the best the old school has to offer

5 out of 5 stars This BASS CD in the name of the game........2004-11-23

This CD has a few the best low end booming bass tracks period.
I cannot tell you how many speakers this has blown.
User beware.

5 out of 5 stars Old School Bass.......2002-06-09

This is one of the first bass records that I ever owned. It is still one of the best. I have played this for a few of my old friends. They have all commented that they cannot believe that they are hearing it. It takes most of them back to a time when there were very few people that listened to this music. Magic Mike was the best and still cannot be forgotten. I just recently played this CD for a new friend of mine. He must have been about about 6 year old when this record came out. He had never heard it before. He is what I would consider a modern day bass head. He could not beleive all of the little sound bites that he has heard in the new bass music that was on this CD. That is why this is the best. Feel the bass. It is still a speaker terror upper no matter what version you listen to.

4 out of 5 stars Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs..........2007-06-02

I had to pay an import price ($26/US) for this disc, but the instrumental of "Physical Love" was something that I had to have. Overall, 4 stars for this disc. This man could really, really, make his guitar talk...talk about guitar skills - he was beyond belief - and made it look easy, too!

5 out of 5 stars Finally RE-UNEARTHED for the FUNK fans.......2006-08-31

If you're willing to shell out 40 bucks, try to find one of the Rhino Handmade copies (numbered edition of only 5000). The Rhino Edition includes the "Jams From The Heart" EP material, which is terrific. This album shells 'em too, but the 2006 REISSUE on Collector's Choice won't have the EP material on it. It should be available as of late August 2006. A very worthy set for anyone who collects P-FUNK, 70's post-Hendrix guitar jammage, or guitar fans in general.

5 out of 5 stars THE classic funk rock guitar album.......2006-03-16

So....interested in Eddie Hazel? Well this is his hard-to-find, out-of-print classic: Game, Dames, and Guitar Thangs. I was lucky enough to find a used, marginal condition vinyl copy a couple of years ago for $40. Then Rhino Handmade came out with a limited edition CD verison (5,000 copies total) and I bought one on the spot for about $25. Now the record or CD currently can go for over $100 on ebay so if you ever find this gem for less...PURCHASE IT IMMEDIATELY!!!! This album is a true gem and features some of the best post-Hendrix guitar work you'll ever hear, along with some great ensemble playing courtesy of Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, and the Brides of Funkenstein. Really a wonderful, quirky, and joyous album and a must-have for a Funkadelic fan or any fan of psychedielic, funk rock guitar. Why this album has never seen the light of day is a complete mystery and a travesty. Truely the best "solo" funkadelic project and outbests many of the funkadelic albums themselves.

5 out of 5 stars a must have!!!!.......2005-12-31

I purchased this LP back in 1979 for 99 cents! yes, 99 cents! needless to say, it's one of the best purchases of my LIFE!!!!! I have long been a parliment/funkadelic fan, and when i found out that Eddie Hazel (one of my guitar heroes) had a solo LP, I RAN to purchase it! Something I have never regretted! Hazel is in total control as he performs masterfully! If you are a maggot brain fan, you'll find something here, if you are a super stupid fan, you'll find something here, if you are a red hot mama or other jammin' hazel tunes, you'll find something here. Eddie Hazel is easily one of the finest guitar players that ever played the instrument, yet he is another great unknown! Well here he takes the PFunk line up and just JAMS! California Dreamin' is the funkiest most soulful versions of the song EVER done!( I am not afraid to make that statement) Frantic moment is a treat for the ear. If you remember Bootsy's rubberband and their first release "stretchin out in a rubberband" then you know "physical love." well this time Hazel allows his guitar to carry the tune and WELL!!

Overall, this a masterpiece by a guitar player that left us too quickly! Personally, i'd purchase the LP/CD just for the version of California Dreamin', but there is SO much here! Check it out! IF you are a funkadelic/parliment fan, or if you just like something funky, soulful and guitarladen you'll like to have this in you collection!

I'M REAL SHOCKED AT THE FACT THAT THE SAME MAN WHO RECORDED THE SONGS TO THIS WACK CD BACK IN 1994 IS ACTUALLY THE SAME MAN WHO WOULD LATER GRACE HIP HOP WITH SONGS LIKE ''BACK THAT THANG UP'', ''HA'', AND ''SET IT OFF''. THIS SO CALLED ALBUM IS JUST A COLLECTION OF SONGS THAT WERE MADE BEFORE ''BEING MYSELF'', WHICH WAS JUVENILE'S 1ST CD. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS CD IS THAT EVERYTHING SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME, AND THE RHYMES THAT JUVI KICKS ARE SUPRISINGLY WACK. OH, AND ANOTHER THING, JUVI RAPS WITH DJ JIMI FOR MUCH OF THIS ALBUM. FOR ALL JUVE FANS, STICK WITH ''400 DEGREEZ'' OR ''PROJECT ENGLISH''.

The only reason to purchase this album would be for Dana Harris' remake of As We Lay. That song is a masterpiece and the melody is undeniable. Beat is greatness and bass is on point. There are a few other songs worth listening to like My Baby Daddy and I Want To Ball, but there's only one classic on here.

Once again, Luke tells it like it is. His first real commerical hit by himself is on this CD called "Raise the roof" which turned into a huge hit!! Another song that comes close to that is "Shelia" which is excellent. This CD is well worth owning if for nothing more than getting the people on the dance floor or offending someone. LUKE has once done it again!!!!

As a 2 Live Crew fan, I was extremely disappointed with this cd. All the tracks are made up of those cheasy digitalized beats, instead of the pumpin' bass that made the 2 Live Crew famous. If you're expecting to hear "Me So Horny", "Cowards in Compton", or anything of that calibre, don't bother with this cd.
