The greatest of all Times.......2005-10-24
This is for me the best bass album of all times. This album (tape at the time I heard it) was it. My friends were trying to get me to listen to bass music and the first one I heard was Magic Mike first one (when he had the geri curl) and I was like get this crap out of my face (the weak rapping turned me off) then I believe I heard some techmaster peb, if there is any type of music that I hate it is that techno eurotrash stuff. Uggghhhh.
Then I saw my boys listening to a tape on headphones at the library and they were like Bobby listen to this one. And it was feel the bass 3. And when he broke out with that first extended bass boom I threw the headphones off and I was like in utter disbelief, everybody was like man I told you. I listened to the that song like 5 times that day, freaking amazing. There were 2 other songs on here that just kills almost all other bass tracks (I think amazon has them mislabeled here). Do you Like Bass (awesome, they have it listed as Class in Session) and Slow Draggin (brings back memories of me Colin and Joe frontin' in Colin's dad car 1am with a big old car phone, amazon lists this song as Exile Via Freestyle).
Quad force/captain quad are the only ones that come close to magic mike, not that I have heard everything, but most other stuff was to techno, too much rapping, and too much bass test type songs. I just like when they took bass made a good beat off it, threw in some cymbals, and maybe a piano or horn tune and let it flow.
Unfortunatley, the bass era didn't last long and Magic Mike tried to keep up, but he couldn't do it. He needed to collaborate with a popular rapper at the time or something, because all the rappers he had or the raps he did himself suuuuucccckkkeeeddd. Most of the times he concentrated to much on the booty shakin stufff, but a few of his raps come to mind that were good. There was Lower than dynamite (MC Madness), Sweet Georgia Bound (T Isaam), and Breakfast in Bed (T Isaam). And a song many Bassheads may not of heard "I get the Powell" on the T Isaam album Southern Hospitality another of Magic's best.
Once Quad Force is available via ITunes I will be buying all the bass songs that I once loved and lost.
I miss these boys here.......2002-12-29
I remember bumping this staedily back in 91-92 this is the shiznit mike is one of hip hop's most underrated dj's and him and mc madness paved the way for trick daddy, and trina every cut on here has the famous miami booty bass sound.
DJ Magic Mike and MC Madness- ain't no doubt about it........2002-04-09
It's a classic! When feel the bass 3 first came out everyone was lined up at store to get it. The bass lines in the song were like nothing anyone had ever heard. The rest of the cd was average. But the one song that will always stick in everyones mind that had a system or has a system is feel the bass 3!!
dj magic mike&mc madness ain't no doubt about it.......2001-06-23
I THINK THIS CD IS A CLASSIC.I PREVIOUSLY OWN THIS CD AND LOST IT AND WAS HIGHLY UPSET.WITH TRACKS LIKE "FEEL THE BASSIII&MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE" IT'S A WONDER HOW PEOPLE CAN MAINTAIN THEIR SOUNDSYSTEM.WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS CD I WAS LIKE DAM I GOTTA GET BIGGER SPEAKERS TO HOLD ALL THAT QUAD.BECAUSE I KNEW IF I DIDN'T THOSE SPEAKERS WAS GONE.THIS CD ALWAYS TURNED HEADS WHERE EVER YOU WENT WHETHER YOU WERE DRIVING DOWN THE BLOCK OR AT A HOUSE PARTY PEOPLE ALWAYS ASKED WHO THE HELL WAS THAT? OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CD TO ALL THOSE WHO LIKE QUAD & DON'T MIND NEW SPEAKERS EVERY 2-3 WEEKS.PEACE!!!
BEST CD FOR YOUR CAR KICKERS.......2000-02-11
I THINK THAT THIS CD IS THE BEST FOR YOUR SYSTEM THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE ONE.I HAVE A BIG SYSTEM AND THIS CD MAKES EVERBODY'S HEAD TURN IN MALL'S AND/OR ANYWHERE.

Well Worth Your Time.......2003-10-20
Upon my first listen to Jamie Wood's Ain't No Doubt About It (Pacific Blues Recording Company), I thought I had stumbled across an album from a juke joint diva that was released maybe sixty or seventy years ago. What tipped me off that it wasn't, was that there was no crackling and popping as would be common place for a recording from that era. So I did what any other blues lover would do, I sat back and listened in complete awe to this fascinating recording. Drawing mostly on material from that time period and four of her own original works, Ms Wood has reached back in time and deep into the heart and soul of the blues and given us a recording that will withstand the test of time. One of the reasons this album is so good is the spectacular quintet and the genuine appreciation they have for the material. They are: former James Harman guitarist Nathan James, Johnny Rover who was a protégé of the late William Clarke blowin the chromatic harp, another William Clarke alumnus,Tyler Pedersen thumping the upright bass, Carl Sonny Leland massages the 88's so very finely and Johnny Morgan pounding the skins. The albums opening number "Doin' The Boogie Woogie," sets the mood for the rest of the fourteen tracks with it's jazzy beat and rolling Fat's Waller styled piano licks courtesy of Carl Sonny Leland at the forefront alongside Jamie's slightly nasal but so very pleasant voice evoking the sly lyrics. "Kissin In The Dark," is a subject I think most of us are familiar with and is highlighted by solos from Johnny Rover and Nathan James. The first of four originals is the albums title number that may bring to mind speakeasy's and flappers truckin' to it's snappy beat. Louis Jordan was one of Jamie's influences and she is joined by James Harman for a jumping, jiving and rhyming updated version of "Look Out (Sister,Look Out)." Memphis Minnie's "Why Don't You Do Right," is a somewhat somber tale of a loser sung with a silky smoothness that is complimented by a fabulous arrangement and a hauntingly beautiful harp accompaniment. Jack Dupree's "Sharp Harp," is the first of two instrumentals you will encounter with Rover and Leland laying down some razor sharp licks, the second,"Countless Blues," allows the whole band to stretch out and jam to a frenzied finish. A hilarious play on words is what's in store for you on another Wood original, "Hock That Rock," which is a tale of a lady's taste for diamonds and pearls but is stuck with a gambling hubby. A soaring covering of Roosevelt Sykes' "Don't Talk Me To Death (a.k.a. 47th Street Jive)" has Jamie airing out her pipes to their fullest and Carl Leland sounding like he grew another hand on the piano. Jamie sights Jimmy Rushing as major influence on her work so it's no surprise that "Say You Don't Mean It," is one of the hottest numbers on the album. Jamie kicks out the jams on her own "High Time Baby," turning in a rousing vocal performance that would make the old roadhouse divas envious. To try to classify this spectacular recording as any one genre is damned near impossible so let's just call it a marriage of 30's blues, 40's jazz and post WWII swing stirred together with juke joint bebop. Produced and engineered by studio wizard Jerry Hall, the sound and feel that comes across on every track is so authentic that you sort of miss the crackles and pops that your brain keeps telling you should be there. Jamie Wood possesses a captivatingly sweet voice and style that as the years go by will be harder to find. Ain't No Doubt About It, leaves no doubt in this reviewers mind that this is one of the best albums he has heard this year. Ms. Wood and company get a standing ovation for this beauty!
