This is a soundtrack that runs like a fun mix tape from an eclectic friend. It's music to put the top down and hit the highways to, songs that bounce from soul, pop, funk, rap, and back. Smashmouth look to have another massive hit with their cover of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons' "Can't Get Enough of You Baby." The song's fun beat and organ sounds suit the band (and summertime) perfectly. Fans of Third Eye Blind, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, and K.P. & Envyi will want to check out the soundtrack's unreleased remixes. The Missy Elliott remix of "Hit Em Wit Da Hee" in particular is a solid slow jam. The CD is dotted with some classic tracks such as the title track by the Replacements, "Flashlight" from Parliament, "Paradise City" from Guns N' Roses, and the sure party starter "It's Tricky" from Run DMC. --Jim Young

Entertainment Weekly
The album is roughly divided into neat thirds: an opening splash of trendy alt- rock ... a slew of hip-hop and R&B (including decent remixes of Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes tracks), followed by a batch of dis-Counting Crows angst rock.... The movie's title is lifted from the old Replacements song, which is included for a dose of '80s nostalgia. An astutely programmed soundtrack, yes--but for all the effort, the highlight is still Rhymes sampling the Knight Rider theme.

The following is a list of all 48 songs that appear in the movie "Can't Hardly Wait". The songs are fairly in order as they appear in the movie--though some may appear more than once, and some might be a little off chronologically. There were only 2 songs in the following list I could not find on Amazon--the Jennifer Love Hewitt and Dr. Freeze songs. (...) Here is THE LIST!:

5 out of 5 stars Good soundtrackwith decades of choices.......2005-07-28

Good soundtrack that takes songs from the 80s and 90s. Although a movie purist will miss some of the songs not being on the soundtrack, they at least have Paradise City! ROCK!

Love this movie - love the soundtrack. I just wish "Only You" by Yaz and "Cold Beverage" by G. Love and Special Sauce was on it.

What is the disco song that is playing when Lauren Amborse, I forget her movie name...you know the girl from Six Feet Under, is sitting on the couch at the party when the kids from school bet on if she was a student or not? Thanx

"The Stonesouls' music brims with vitality and juvenile enthusiasm"
    Reviewer: Cord Weiss, Southeast Performer
The Stonesouls were an early-to-mid 90's punk-pop-rock "garage band" loosely based in Marietta, Georgia. The band was born in the summer of 1989 in the basement of Adam and Eric Leland's parents' house. With raw energy and a live feel, the songs on Burning Down sound like the bastard sober brother of The Replacements. In fact, they even cover the Mats' "Can't Hardly Wait." Burning Down leaves you with a feeling that, with a little more time, experience and patience, The Stonesouls could have really gone somewhere. Although several songs scattered throughout the CD need better production and overall sound, The Stonesouls' music brims with vitality and juvenile enthusiasm. Furthermore, the band's enthusiasm and humble disposition set them apart from most bands of this pretentious, flannel-loving, "please-take-me-seriously" musical era. Songs like "Girls Don't Lie" and "Something's Happening" have up-tempo beats and are filled with sing-along choruses and playful guitar hooks. Eric Leland's bass playing is tight and brother Adam's voice has a distinct timbre. Together, they write good, straight-ahead pop songs. One listen and you can hear all kinds of influences ranging from the Kinks to the Nerves to Paul Westerberg. For a lot of people, Burning Down will bring back youthful memories and Best of The Stonesouls just might provide the soundtrack to their angst-ridden teen years. You can always catch Adam with a cold beer in hand at pubs all around Atlanta. Inside the CD sleeve it reads, "Dedicated to Joey Ramone and George Harrison," which is just down right cool. I give this CD an A for effort.
