This is a good album, but a little bit short with only 12 tracks. I like "Book of Skanless" a little bit better. Both are very good though. Check em out if you're into Sacramento Rap.

This is one of the best underground West coast rap albums out there. If you like sacramento rap, and Big Hollis beats, cop this joint. Check out Skanless "in the end we shall repent" too.

Classic 90's Nasty Rap.......2007-06-21

I bought this along with the AMG "B!tch Betta Have My Money". I forgot how much I love these guys. I haven't taken Skanless out of my cd player since I got it last month. 2 Ada Time and Too Drunk to F!ck are hilarious. If you like Too Short! or Eazy E you will be into Hi-C and the Skanless crew.

BTW-DJ Quik & AMG have an album coming out under the group name The Fixxers. Can You Work Wit Dat is the single that's on the radio. It's awesome. I have it as my cell ringtone.

A Classic!.......2006-06-07

My best friend John and I discovered the Skanless album in '98, when we went through the super duper clearance bin at Sam Goody's. They had a 2 for $3.00 deal on cds, and we picked up Skanless and another cd that was quickly tossed somewhere and forgotten about. Hi-C, however, became our new favorite inside joke. We decided that he was probably just way ahead of his time, as the songs were funny but at the same time had good beats to them.

Last summer, I moved away from my home town, my friend John, and that Sam Goody. I brought my Skanless CD with me, and unfortunately it got broken as I was moving in. I was sooooo upset, because where in the world would I find a cd released in '91. Fortunately, after looking up the album on Myspace, I realized there was a re-release of the album. Unfortunately, this time I will have to pay more than $1.50 for it. But it's worth it. :)

Hi-C & Tony Alvarez, CPT!.......2005-12-23

Hi-C re-released this in 2004 but the original is from late 1991. The newer version has 3 bonus songs at the end. This is my favorite of his 3 solo albums and you get what you expect from Hi-C, dirty and hilarious songs. The beats and production are good for the time period it was released in and guests are very few. Production was done by Tony A (8 songs), Hi-C (3 songs) and DJ Quik (5 songs) {this is counting the 3 bonus tracks). It has no classic song but 1 great song, 11 good songs, and 3 that are ok and there is one that I skip. A mus thave rap album for fans of west coast dirty rap or any DJ Quik/Too $hort old school fan. This album features Hi-C's homies DJ Quik, Tony A, AMG & 2nd II None, Hi-C & Tony Alvarez both born in Compton, CA aka the CPT.

I'm not your PUPPET!!!.......2005-09-28

Memories, memories..... I played this when I lived in Chicago a lot. This is just a str8 up fun nothing deep or to debate about album. The songs have good story telling (ex. "Not your Puppet" or 2 Drunk 2 F**k)that will have u buggin out. The whole posse is on this album: 2nd11None, AMG and Quik. Songs like "2 ada time" and "Bullsh*it" are some of my favorites.

This is the west coast I think a lot of people 4get about from back in the day. But these boys put out some of there best albums in that '90-'93 era. This is just one mc (Hi-C) and his Dj (Tony A). This is a west coast throwback every fan of the west should have. Hotep!!!

Hearing this music brings me back to the days of me being a little white kid thinking he was black in lompoc california ..

Having fun on the beach ..

Hanging out with my girl and trying to get some every chance I had ..

and

Waiting for my dad to go to work all night so I could invite my friends over to drinks 40' oz and smoke ciguares.

This music will deffinitley bring you back to the parties and the fun times getting older takes away to so many people.

IM SO GLAD they re-released it and its now cheaper to buy then going on ebay and paying 75.00 for it !!

Your not Mexican if you dont have this CD or any other of Proper Dos CDs! Even if you already have Lil Rob! Its all about Proper Dos the godfather of Mexican Rap! [Weak].......2003-03-15

Myself being of Mexican descent, I found this album to be [weak]. Political messages in rap went out about 13 years ago. Lyrics are pretty weak, though the production is ok. But having listened to rap for 20 years now, lyrics are what matter to me. If you take this rap out of its L.A. context, there isnt much value left in this. No one outside of the Southwest would buy this...

A Groudbreaking CD in the Latino Rap Scene.......2002-09-21

Being of Mexican descent myself, I find this album to be very revolutionary. Before Proper Dos, (with the exception of Lighter Shade of Brown) Latinos were missing in Hip-Hop music; But it was time for a change and time for Latinos to find their voice in Hop-Hop cuz rap needed a strong Mexican-American persona that Latinos could identify with. Frank V and Proper Dos exemplified that image. Since L.A. is predominantly Hispanic, it only makes sense that L.A. should have a thriving Hispanic Hip-Hop culture and Proper Dos were at the forefront of that movement. Which is why their music and especially this CD are very integral to the growth of Mexican-Rap. Proper Dos were like the Latino counterparts of groundbreaking west coast groups such as N.W.A., Frank V even has the tough vocal timbre that Ice Cube possesses. The Best Cuts on this CD are "M.F.M","Mexican Power","Uno Ochenta y Siete","Life Of a Gangster", and "Hard Time" which are ferocious tracks that breath fire on the twisted L.A.P.D. system and enlightens listeners about police brutality,discrimation, and racial tension in L.A. Overall, it's just a bangin' album and it's definately earned its place in Hop-Hop history as one of the greatest albums ever in my opinion. It's a must that you purchase this tight CD soon!

I like hi c's first joint this is gangster but hi c talked more about getting drunk, screwing girls, hairstyles, and having fun rather than 187 on an undercover cop there is jack move where hi c raps about jacking cars and my fave is 2 ada time where him and kk talks about running a train on a girl this reminds me of old times.

man hic really has'nt changed since his first cd yes he's still talking nasty stuff about sex, and freaking hoodrats features a cameo by 204 homiez 2nd to none andv production from dj quik and everything quik touched is banging an underrated producer but still if you like quik, and miss rhymes about just having fun this is for you I miss coolio all of a sudden.
