4 out of 5 stars What happened to Tracey Lee?.......2007-06-12

Many Faces was a pretty good CD when it came out in 97. People who knew about the CD knew about the song "The Theme" (which was a hot party joint), but the remix (The After Party) was just as hot. I wouldn't say all the songs were good, but tracks like Clue, Stars In The East, The Professionals, Rugged, and Keep Your Hands High were nice and the intro is one of the best intros i have ever heard on any CD. I always wondered what happened to him cause i thought he had a chance to to be a major playa in hip hop, but guess not.

This is a very slept on MC, but once you hear em you'll neva forget em. Tracey Lee is not your average MC. His raps are swift, on point, & match the production nicely. On this LP he has multiple personalities that he raps in. Thats right one MC doing the voice of 5! It's done very ill & his personalities are all skilled. Find it if you can, its worth it.

2 out of 5 stars I just can't feel it!.......2002-07-24

I've read all of the reviews, and I've listened to the album more than once, but I just can't feel it. I remember over 5 years ago, when the single, "The Theme(It's Party Time)" hit the radio and video market. I was mildly interested, but I would've never purchased this album off of that alone. So, I found a copy recently, after all of this time, for a very cheap price. I snatched it up, but I'm now THRILLED that I found it so cheap. There's nearly a 100% chance I will NEVER play this CD again. I put it in my system, excited to hear all of the different flavor and styles that I read about Tray Lee bringing to this album, and I just kept a confused look on my face for the entire duration of the disc. I AM NOT KIDDING--I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP NUMEROUS TIMES! Believe me, I wanted to like this CD so badly, but I thought it was simply weak. Let's face it, everyone has their opinions, so I except that some people enjoy this disc. I just coulnd't find anything I liked about it. The track "Keep Your Hands High" with Tray Lee & Biggie was the ONLY standout track on the whole disc. That's not enough. Also, I couldn't get over the sound of Tray Lee's voice. He has this sound to his voice that's all thickly juicy. It seems like he chews about 3 or 4 pieces of Bubble Yum, slips them to the side of his mouth, and then raps. Like I said, it's sort of too juicy for me.

5 out of 5 stars One of my favorites.......2002-04-06

This Philly cat is ILL! Maybe he's a schizo... I don't know but he seems like that in "Many facez", doesn't he? He does. That track is really a gem like the whole album. This album is one of my personal favorites. The sound is tight and Tray Lee can really flow on the mic. I can't say nothing else about this album but HOT! My favorite tracks are "Rugged one", "Many facez", "The theme", "Repent" and "Clue (who shot LR?)". Cop it! It worths your cash!
