Do not wait to buy this tremendous Cd!.......1999-10-23

This disc is one of the permanent fixtures on my Cd player at home. It is a perfect introduction to Braxton's always illuminating solo music. It seems (and I use "seems" rather than "is," because it is just my opinion) to be more carefully planned than his early "For Alto"; it is delicate, improvised, and yet structured...it is very hard to put into words. But then again, that in itself is why you should experience the music on this wonderful Cd--in his music, Braxton has always reached aesthetic places that only the masters can reach, and language often doesn't do justice to the task. All I can say is that in my opinion (which is always subjective, of course) this Cd is the perfect thing to listen to when you are having your cup of coffee and reading the Sunday paper, enjoying an evening dinner with family and friends, or, in particular, when you just want to sit down and concentrate hard on the music of one of the finest modern day composers in creative music. This music will reward you in ways that are authentic, genuine, and (most importantly) PERMANENT.

One II Three Your Out.......2003-09-18

When artists like Bobby Brown, Christopher Williams and James Brown engineer, compose, and produce your debut album, one would think you'd have a fairly successful album or, at least, a legit top-10 hit on the charts, but thats not the case here. EMI/Capitol records released One II 3's debut album, Whole New Head, in the year of 93. When the lead single "Love Me Right," produced by Curtis Baldwin, Ike Lee Ill, Bobby Brown, and Kiyamma/Kiy Griffin, didn't generate any buzz or live up to the high expectations, One II 3 was dropped from Capitol records, never releasing a follow-up album. One II 3 is a vocal trio that shouldn't be overlooked. They played an important role in R&B and Hip-Hop music and expanded on what Whistle and Bobby Brown perfected and thats R&B mixed with Rap. Their beats are new jack flavored, vocals well above average, and raps are, shockingly, well and serious. The trio has the ability to harmonize like Shai, rich and seductive on new jack ballads, but sound like a legitimate rap group on hip-hop flavored beats. One II 3 should appeal to fans of the new jack swing era and early-'90s R&B.
