4 out of 5 stars Rappin' 4-Tay at his BEST! - A West Coast Classic!.......2007-07-18

"Don't Fight the Feelin'", Rappin' 4-Tay's second proper album is yet another solid gem in the everlasting canon of the Bay area. 4-Tay ultimately steps up his game from his independently released "Rappin' 4-Tay Is Back!!!".

This is one of my favorites for just kickin' back and chillin' with my friends; as it has a very loose and laid-back feel to it. Rappin' 4-Tay sounds confident and very smooth. Top notch jams like "Dank Season", "Playaz Club" & "I'll Be Around" are the standouts in my opinion. Although the caliber of quality is high throughout.

I do much prefer the remix for "I'll Be Around" that was later released on the Toshiba/EMI 1995 pressing of this album (there were actually 2 extra remixes of "Ill Be Around"). But if you got the original pressing from the Rag Top Records/Chrysalis from 1994, you only get the original LP version.

Overall, Rappin' 4-Tay made a name for himself with "Don't Fight the Feelin'", and will go on to be the most revered album he ever recorded.

5 out of 5 stars Some original old school.......2006-08-31

With This album Rappin 4 Tay proves to be an original rapper with some good rymes and brilliant flows...

5 out of 5 stars 4.5 star major Label debut from 4-Tay.......2006-01-03

For his debut album 4-Tay definitely represents the Bay-Area correct. The first song I heard from here was the remake of the Spinner's classic "I'll be Around" and I loved it, and got the album (and 4 other of his, of which this is the best). With 14 songs, 2 are classics, 2 are almost a classic, 4 are ok, tehr rest are good, none are bad. Guests only rap on 2 songs so you get alot of 4-Tay (and do the hook on 2). Production is great and funky (classic west coast old school beats). Handled by Lil Fly, Franky J, Black C, J-Mack, Anthony & Rufus Esteban. A must have form early/mid 90's west coast rap fans.

#1 - 7.5
#2 - 9.5 (f/ Seff the Gaffla -- tight beat)
#3 - 8.5 (nice beat)
#4 - 10 (CLASSIC -- f/ JT the Bigga Figga, Lil Fly -- great beat)
#5 - 9 (nice relaxing beat0
#6 - 8.5 (another tight relaxing beat)
#7 - 8
#8 - 10 (CLASSIC remake of the Spinners & uses thir hook and beat)
#9 - 8 (upbeat song)
#10 - 9.5 (tight beat)
#11 - 7.5
#12 - 6.5
#13 - 7
#14 - 9 (deeper song w/ nice beat -- f/ Erica Giles)

4 out of 5 stars So underrated, WestCoastFans will NOT be dissapointed.......2003-11-02

Rappin' 4-Tay became a known name to me when I heard Tupac's song ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME where he is featured...
So I bought his album OFF PAROLE and thought it was doper than dope so I bought this album as well.
At first I was dissapointed becouse the beats sounded bad to me at the time but then I took a closer listning and started loving it.
It's one of my fav WEST COAST albums now and I would advice all whoc are fans of Snoop Dogg, E40 & Dogg Pound to peep this one out, 4-tay's flow is unique and the lyrics is bangin.

"Tear the Roof Off" is the coolest track, with a funky guitar line and some kicka** flow 4-tay represents...
"Just Cause I Called You A B*tch" and "Can U Buckem'" to me is few of the best from the west coast ever (Not counting Tupac since he goes beyond the west to me)

5 out of 5 stars Great Rapper.......2002-11-18

This is a great album to listen to....4 Tay knows how to make rap music that sounds different from all the ones that have overdone bass pounding beats today. Even though I dont listen to rap too much I love this album. It has great structure and rhythym of beats and great instrumentals, they are all very original too. Its definite must have for any ones rap collection, or otherwise :-P. Its too bad that 4-Tay's older albums are all out of print now that Ruthless Records has went of business.
