Yes, a real country singer.......2007-01-04
I have always loved Chris Ledoux for singing about what country music should be, but I have found another favorite in Royal Wade Kimes. He has a real country sound and the subject of his songs is similar to that of Marty Robbins. I have even corresponded with Mr. Kimes via email; how many of your favorite artists have you had any contact with? Seems like a great guy!
A great, unheralded singer.......2006-11-07
Royal Wade Kimes is a real country singer, easily surpassing all the fluff on country radio. He sings old-fashioned, true-blue country music, and his voice is amazing and unique. If there were any justice in the music business, he'd be a star.
Real Music!.......2003-02-12
It's great to be able to tell who you're listening to, and to be able to tell that the good sound you hear is natural talent and not just computer enhanced, studio music. This is really good music and you can tell it comes from the heart.
DUET WITH GARTH BROOKS IS FABULOUS!.......2002-09-25
THIS CD IS THE MOST UNIQUE SOUND I HAVE HEARD IN AGES. THERE ARE SOME INCREDIBLE SONGS AND ROYAL WADE KIMES HAS A VOICE LIKE I'VE NEVER HEARD. IT'S REAL, FRESH AND INTERESTING. THE DUET WITH GARTH BROOKS IS A REALLY GREAT SONG AND THESE TWO SOUND GREAT TOGETHER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO LIKES WESTERN MUSIC, KIMES OR BROOKS. IT'S ENTERTAINING!

Great formula for a great sound.......2005-08-08
I agree there could have been a few more songs on this cd, but it is still very enjoyable.TheAmerican Breed are my favorite horn based rock band of all time. They had a great production formula which made for a great,if not to short-lived sound.Especially in the dawning of Psych and Heavy Rock. I own all the ls as well as a few 45's, and the cd fidelity-wise stands up well against them. The cd has more dynamics and punch, while the lps. tend to be a little more laid back, with a bit more detail(also more noise).several people have heard this music at my house and really enjoyed it.A few were people too young to have remembered it, others got pleasant flashbacks.Well worth having in your classic rock collection. They also did a few late 60's commercial spots that were cool too.I am an AB fan for life.
Missing two of my favorites.......2003-08-12
If only this collection included two of my favorites, "Mindrocker" (as pointed out by Mr. O'Leary) and "Sometime in the Morning" from the Bend Me, Shape Me album it would be perfect. There's still a lot to enjoy here and some of these recordings just never wear thin with me.
Good but what about "Mind Rocker"?.......1999-06-10
I think this is a very good album but I just happen to have the original Bend Me Shape Me Album. Since this is supposed to be the best of the American Breed I just thought it should have had one of the best they ever did. With the pounding beat and siren this should have been a hit and, in my estimation, would have been a hit with a good promoter. For those of you who have heard it I think you would agree that this is certainly one of their best.
Good but it would have been great with "round rocker"........1999-06-10
Round rocker was not a hit but in my estimation with the sirene noise and the pounding beat it was and is one of their best.
Istrumentally Great.......1999-02-20
(Reffering to "bend me shape me")The roll in the beginning is cool and the vocals are nice but what really caught my attention the first time I heard "Bend me Shape me" Was the Amazing Trumpet part!!(this coming from a trumpet player!) Even throughout the entire CD the Music itself was Great. You probablly would guess I'm some old guy but I'm a teen And Loved the entire thing!!=)

Nice collection of early Breed tracks.......2006-11-14
This album is pretty good colelction of some of Breed's better songs from 1990 - 1995. At 62 minutes, I wish they'd have added about 3 or 4 more ,since they'd have fit on a CD, as I know he has some better one's that aren't on here from his first 5 albums (I especially wish that "We Do This" with Too $hort, 2 Pac & Father Dom was on here - a classic song). Of the 14 songs, 1 is a classic, 7 are good, 1 is almost a classic, 1 I skip, and 4 are ok. Guests are minimal, on 3 songs and production is tight and funky on most of teh trax, although no production creditsa re given. You get 4 songs from "Funkafied", 3 from "The New Breed", 2 from "MC Breed & DFC" as well as "Big Baller", 1 song from "20 Below" and 2 new songs. A nice album for fans of Breed to have.
#1 - 10 (CLASSIC -- great funky beat)
#2 - 8.5 (f/ 2Pac {R.I.P.})
#3 - 7
#4 - 9 (nice beat)
#5 - 7 (f/ SFD)
#6 - 9.5 (tight beat)
#7 - 5 (upbeat new track -- almost 5 minutes and Breed only raps for 40 sec.)
#8 - 8 (nice beat)
#9 - 9 (good beat)
#10 - 7.5 (a more relaxing track)
#11 - 8 (nice beat that has been used by Nas, Jadakiss, & Cormega)
#12 - 8 (f/ ???)
#13 - 6.5
#14 - 8

Classic..........2000-05-10
...I can put on Breed's ("I got your back, and you got mine") best and let the weekend jamming begin. This needs "What You Want" from another CD to make it perfect. Heck, nevermind. It already is perfect.
Kid from Cali is wack.......1999-10-28
seven years is the best song on the cd. The only reason you don't like it is because you have no idea what your getting yourself into.
The best CD I have ever owned!!!!.......1999-09-07
Out of all the CDs I have ever listened to, this is the best. I think at least seven of the songs are absolutely excellent, and the rest are really good, with the exception of "seven Years" which I dont like because the entire CD is really uplifting with energetic beats (not Techno or anything) except for seven years. Other than that track, Its a great CD.
A great collection of the best musician ever........1999-05-13
This CD just goes to prove that Breed is the most talented rapper of all time. Each song, old and new, has the beats and lyrical finesses that Breed has always displayed. There isn't anyone who can compete with him.

Album Description
This album represents the "new breed" of electronic pop, featuring many of today's rising synthpop stars from around the globe as well as some new bands that will be making their presence felt in the near future. The tracks here illustrate the great variety the synthpop genre has to offer, ranging from melancholy to uplifting in mood, laid-back to energetic in tempo, and retro to modern in sound. The common elements are that all of the songs selected for this release are exclusive, original, and of the highest quality. "Evolution" is the debut release from Cohaagen Music, and shows the promise of things to come from the label.
Customer Reviews:
Catchy, but not stellar...........2003-03-09
There are lots of good catchy up-beat tunes on this album, but I found myself often wishing that someone else was singing the songs. Many of the lead singer's voices were rather week, and even annoying at times. It's a shame because the music for many of the songs was really good.
I found "Angel with a broken wing" from Blind Before Dawn to be a bit on the cheesy side. I think Ganymede would have a lot of potential if their lead singer had a few singing lessons. The songs are very catchy and danceable, but his voice falls a bit short of being impressive, and makes the otherwise great songs, sound amateur. Of the songs on the album, "I believe in You" from Raindancer, "The Well" from Axoe, and "They Call her love" from Nasa were my favourites. Gary Flanagan reminds me a bit of Taco (Puttin' on the Ritz).
You do get a lot of music for your money too, as this is actually a 2 CD set. I didn't realise this when I ordered it, because the listing only showed the info for the first CD, so that was a nice surprise, and I actually think the 2nd CD is better than the first. The song listings for the 2nd CD are as follows:
1. This wasn't the first time - Ganymede
2. Revolution - Simulator
3. So Close - Spray
4. Lucky - NukleoN
5. Apollo - Empire State Human
6. Raindance - Raindancer
7. They Call her Love - Nasa
8. We have the Dance Floor to Ourselves - Gary Flanagan
In summary, if you like dancy electronic music, then you'll probably like this CD, and I think most of the bands have a lot of potential - my only real complaint being some of the singer's voices...
Tuneful and song-driven.......2002-12-09
This is a fairly good compilation with quite a few songs to sing along with in your car. My only reservation is that the artists here are trying to recapture the "New Romantic" feel of 1980s bands such as Depeche Mode and Spandau Balley without creating anything new. It's pleasant enough.
Great synthpop.......2002-06-18
If you're a fan of Synthpop, this compilation rocks. The "Tender Lies" single from Freezepop is esp. boppy.
Winds of change approach in a New Wave rebirth........2002-03-26
Definitely on the cutting edge of the cycle of music as the Depeche Mode-esque style surfaces anew, fresh, exciting, and matured.
The new breed of electronic pop. A must-have CD!!.......2002-03-17
"Evolution", released by Ganymede's Cohaagen label, is an exciting compilation representing the new breed of electronic pop. The variety of styles goes from mellow to uplifting, from laid-back to dancey, and from retro to modern sounding. It's billed as a taster of things to come from the Cohaagen label, and on the strength of this release Cohaagen is going to be THE label to watch this year. There is something on "Evolution" for every synthpop fan, and all of the songs are strong and melodic, and of the highest quality.
Tracks come from some of the hottest bands around. Ganymede fresh from grabbing best single of 2001 at Electrogarden with "Neon Rain", kick off the album with a club mix of Ganymede's "The Final Year" which really grabs your attention, one of my favourite songs from their excellent "Euromantique" album and another great remix. Another great synthpop band Soviet are here with "Bank Holiday", as melodic as any track on their "We Are Eyes, We Are Builders" album.
Up-and-coming star NukleoN, who is currently working on new material for his album has another great track, a highly polished version of "Sometimes", and Raindancer have an explosive track, "I Believe In You" which is sure to crowd the dancefloors. The highly rated Mystic Underground have a laid-back number, "Oxygen", their album has got to be a must-have. Canadian synth star Gary Flanagan, working on his "Future Fashion" album for a late summer release has an energetic number called, appropriately, "Summertime" while Empire State Human have a fast-paced dance track "Post Madonna".
Freezepop show their talent for classic synthpop with "Tender Lies", and they are joined by a host of bands to really look out for in the future. The Mourning After have an excellent track, "Listen To My Heart" sounding like Depeche Mode at their synthpop best. Axoe provide an exciting dance anthem with "The Well" along with Strange Angel's "You Make Me Feel Alive".
Blind Before Dawn's "Angel With Broken Wing" is one of my favourite tracks, I'll be keeping an eye out for their album. Karacter slow the tempo down again with the highly enjoyable "Marathon", while Simulator provide an excellent finish to the album with "Moments Away", a really uplifting instrumental which will leave you wanting more.
There is so much quality and variety on "Evolution" that it's hard to pick the best track, there is a song for whatever mood you are in. The hardest part will be deciding which album to buy from all of the talented artists! If this is just a taste of things to come from Cohaagen then I can't wait for more. Hats off to Ganymede for giving these artists a chance, and for making a CD that doesn't fail to impress in every way. Keep up the good work!
