2 out of 5 stars I dont consider this they debut.......2006-07-29

Seriously anyone who gives this 5 stars is only do'in it cause DMX is on that one listenable track. This is not what the lox is all about. Pop bubblegum beats and radio friendly lyrics. Thats Puffs doing. If you really want to hear what the lox is all about, cop they solo album's and We are the streets. This album you can definetly tell Puffs pullin they strings.

5 out of 5 stars Classic L-O-X!!.......2006-07-12

The LOX come good (no homo) with their debut album. This was before the D-Block movement they got goin' on now so it may be different to new LOX fans, but it's still heat. Jadakiss, Styles, and Sheek show with this album that they had skills then and still do now. If you like Hip-Hop go but this album now!

2 out of 5 stars Overly, commercial, materialistic pap! .......2006-03-05

I can see why the Lox don't like to talk about this debut. This sounds as if Puffy did the whole album. Puffy and his Bad Boy production team produced most of the songs and it sounds like complete rejects from his No Way Out album instead of a Jadakiss/Sheek Louch/Styles project. Money, Power, Respect with DMX and Lil' Kim is the only strong song on the album. And what was the point of having the Mad Rapper on this album? Even the Hitmen's offerings come off as lame. The Ron Lawrence/Deric Angelettie song come off as lousy. And the ones from Nashiem Myrick, Stevie J and Carlos Broady come off as mediocre. But the low point is the pop-driven sound of If You Think I'm Jiggy, which Puffy produced and what worked for Mase doesn't work for the Lox. The song blatantly interpolates Rod Stewart's 1978 disco-driven hit Do Ya Think I'm Sexy. It's got a catchy beat a la Puffy, but the song's pretty bad and overly commercial. Out of 40 to 60 songs that Puffy produced in 1997 for artists, that's his worst! The lyrics on the album come off as materialistic and don't tell me too much about the group's background. Jadakiss had harder-edged rhymes and lyrics on the Lox' 2000 album and his solo stuff, but there's nothing he really offers here. The album's commercial sheen comes off as creatively empty. They should have let Puffy rap on this album instead and called it The Four Beats to Shake to.

1 out of 5 stars disgust.......2005-12-07

I was intrigued with the title, but understood nothing of the lyrics. As most of rap (hip hop) this is incredible garbage. only my opinion of course.

Like The Rembrandts with louder guitars and better record collections, this Maryland quartet delivers an album that's as fresh as their debut, Rapple Dapple. Piling on the "yeah, yeah, yeahs," the Huseman brothers keep well-crafted tunes like "Round and Round," "Love Songs," "Go Without You," and "Super Geek" short, sweet, and simple. Power-pop nostalgics will approve, though it's probably too wimpy and retro for the kids. --Jeff Bateman

5 out of 5 stars Great lost pop classic.......2006-11-10

With all the hype received by other bands in the mid-90's and beyond such as Semisonic and Fountains of Wayne chalk up Greenberry Woods as one of the great lost bands of that style of power pop. Two cd's and they were gone. This was the second one that came out rather quickly after the first. Amazingly, its even better than the first.

This is one of those cd's where there are no bad songs. Its even rather difficult to list favorites. Its just that consistent. From "Yeah" to "Love Songs" to "Backstreet Driver" to "Super Geek" to "Parachute" to "The Final Song" and everything in between, they are all good. I mourn the loss of this kind of music. The spirit of The Raspberries and Badfiner live on.

5 out of 5 stars Big Money Item.......2004-01-22

This may be the best music deal on the internet.
I got this CD a few months ago and could not believe that I missed this one back in '95. Awesome power pop CD. You would be hard pressed to find a better collection of songs this good:
Love Songs, Go Without You, Oh Janine, Baby You Can't Get It Back, Punch Drunk, Invisible Threads, Yeah (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah), etc. If you're a sucker for this type of catchy pop music you won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars STFU and listen.......2006-03-23

P. Troy is one of the most underated and overlooked rappers in the south, and like in many cases, one of the best, produces and writes all he does by himself, this is a excellent album with great beats and insightful lyrics, some might say he has gone commercial, which is partly true, and this might upset some of his HARDCORE fans, but for the rest of us, its a great buy, from a great

5 out of 5 stars The last of his kind!.......2006-03-03

For all the other rappers that seem to turn into this sissy pop crap, PT has stood his ground and kept it real for us. I think this is a great CD! (Who, Want, War) probably my favorite on the CD. He adds a little of the movie "Face Off" into this CD too. Other hits include: Murder Man, Yeah!!!, Gone Getcha, and a suprise hit,"Acid Rain." Trust me, if you like Pastor Troy, you will Love this CD.

This is PT worst album made. Every track on this album is bad! Lame lyrics, awful beats and there in no decent guests on this album. Murda man was a awful diss track to Lil Jon, PT has lost his game thats all. Also I wanna why PT has the beef with lil jon anyway. If you want so good albums get Trill by Bun B, Ghetto Bill Gates by Master P.
