CLASSIC GETO BOYS. A MUST-HAVE; 4.5 STARS.......2004-08-14
SHORTLY BEFORE THIS ALBUM WAS RECORDED, WILLIE D LEFT THE GETO BOYS TO PURSUE A SOLO RAP CAREER. TO TAKE HIS PLACE, BIG MIKE WAS ADDED TO THE GROUP. THIS WAS A REAL GOOD ALBUM. IT'S NO ''WE CAN'T BE STOPPED'', BUT IT'S REAL GOOD. THE BEST TRACKS ARE ''STRAIGHT GANGSTAISM'', ''CEREAL KILLER'', ''SIX FEET DEEP'', ''IT AIN'T'', AND OF COURSE, THE 8 MINUTE-PLUS ''BRING IT ON'' WHICH FEATURES NUMEROUS RAP-A-LOT RAPPERS FROM THE EARLY 90S. SHORTLY AFTER THIS ALBUM, THE GETO BOYS ANNOUNCED THEIR BREAK-UP. BUT, THEY CAME BACK 3 YEARS LATER [WITH WILLIE D AGAIN] TO DO ''THE RESURRECTION'' AND THE GETO BOYS CAME BACK FOR A FINAL TIME IN 1998 WITHOUT BUSHWICK BILL TO DO ''DA GOOD, DA BAD, & DA UGLY''.
Still A Great Album.......2004-06-12
Even though this album is ten years old, it still is a great album.
If you love Scarface as a solo artist you'll love this album with his old group - the Geto Boys.
If you like Body Count's "Cop Killer" you have to listen to "Mr. Officer" on this album.
Also, has one of the saddest ghetto stories "Six Feet Deep" before Ghostface's.
Almost every song on the album is a winner.
One of their best.......2003-03-30
It's hard to pick the best song on the album cause their is a lot of good ones. It's not the same w/out Willie D but Big Mike fits in and is tight. His song Gangsterism is a classic. More than half the cd is so good I could listen to it a few times in a row, but the other part is getting skipped cuz it's either too violent (bushwicks solos are always f'd up) or just not hittin right. But there is more really good songs than almost any other album I own.
I love this cd still.......2002-12-29
exit willie d enter big mike along with scarface and bushwick bill these mugs from texas put out another banging classic crooked officer deals with police brutality, six feet deep talks about black on black violence, bushwick continues his chuckie tales on murder ave, other songs deal with drugs, sex, and murder in the hood my favorite is the last cut bring it on which features the whole rap a lot mob a must buy.
HOUSTON"S FINEST.......2002-06-09
This album by the Geto Boys solitifies the South in the rap game. Every track is tyte. Every lyric is tyte. Even Lil J's intro and outro are tyte. Big Mike stepped in for Willie D and the trio still didn't fall off. Bring It On is probably one of the tytest rap songs in history with 7 or 8 different artist just ripping the mic followed up by yours truly Mr. Scarface. That song along is just one reason to get this album and there are about 10 other songs that are worthy of the same praise, so this here work of art by the Geto Boys difinetly gets 5 mics from a boy straight out of Southwest Houston!

Great Album But... No Willie D! Thats Y only 4 Mics!.......2006-09-19
This Album was bangin but I don't gives a F#$k what you say Big Mike Ain't No Willie D! I mean don't get me wrong The Peter Man got skills but I think Will got him in the lyrical department! Will just has that voice and feeling that what he says HE MEANS! I really think Bill stepped up the lyrics on this album also! Everyone always leaves out Bill & Will and talks about Face but The G.B. is not the same if it ain't Will, Face & Bill! The beats from Bido, N.O. Joe, Mike Dean and the rest of the Rap-A Lot posse were always ahead of their time with the hard beats and the hottest old school samples! I credit this record lable for making me research and find the original artists they sampled from and opening my young mind up to a whole other era of great music! Rap-A Lot Fo Life!
Love, Peace, Unity & Fun... Vendetta
Great album.......2003-03-18
Till Death Do Us Part is the best Geto Boys album out there. Their only sub par album would be Da Good Da Bad and Da Ugly. They lost their intensity in that album. But this one and the rest of theirs all deserve 5 stars. They r the group that made the south. They birthed one of the greatest rappers in the business - Scarface. They put South on the map and they deserve all respect possible. 5 stars - get money and get the album.

Never mind the fact that Cypress Hill's 15 minutes of fame expired around 10 ganja-fueled years ago--Till Death Do Us Part is a solid release from a crew who've largely been written off as a cartoonish novelty act. The South Central cartel has given its signature sound a much-needed overhaul: B-Real has smoothed his trademark nasal whine into a more measured flow that complements DJ Muggs's rejuvenated sound. The underrated producer wisely eschews the rap-metal formula that has made Cypress Hill such frat-boy favorites and instead infuses their seventh studio album with a combination of sinister hip-hop beats, sweet Latin brass, and pure, unadulterated reggae. Inspired guest appearances add flavor as well, most notably by Puerto Rican reggaeton don Tego Calderon, who turns the Alchemist-produced "Latin Thugs" into a Spanish hip-hop classic. Despite the revamp, Cypress Hill retains their love of weed and wacky sense of humor, both of which figure heavily in tunes like the Beastie Boys-inspired "Busted in the Hood." --Rebecca Levine

What happened?.......2006-05-23
This ain't the Cypress Hill I know. On top of that, they sampled their other albums too much.
okay..........2006-05-11
It's like the commercial white man came in and stole all the good rap, then turned it into pop-rap (and I'm white!). I've listened to Cypress since album one -Skull and Bones was somewhat ok, the rest are better though. This Cypress album AT LEAST still tries to stay somewhat true to old school and not this new "happy rap". What did all the ganstas move out of the hood and into the suburbs? You'll be hard pressed to find the old school still trying to do this.
Good lyrics, bad music.......2006-04-01
I've been listening to Cypress Hill since Black Sunday, so my review will be in the context of a pretty solid Cypress Hill fan.
Firstly, as many of the other reviewers have stated, the beats on most of the songs leave a bit to be desired. The production values are good; the music is very clear, except for parts that are intentionally not supposed to be (samples from vinyl, for instance). However, the beats just aren't that memorable. "Another Body Drops," "Street Wars," and "What's Your Name?" are really the only songs that you'll listen to over and over again.
On the other hand, the lyrics are outstanding. B-Real's flow has just gotten better by the album. I have all of Cypress Hill's albums on my MP3 player, and while I'm at work I'll listen to them in release date order, and you can really see how B-Real has improved his skills as a lyricist over time. His rhymes keep getting tighter and tighter, and I really believe that he's a fairly under-appreciated rapper. Let me state, however, that as someone else here said, the hooks suck. You can tell that they couldn't figure out a catchy hook, so they just repeated the name of the song (see the song "Dollar Bill"). This is a probem that started on Skull and Bones, and I think it's just going to continue.
I personally believe that III: Temples of Boom was the Hill's greatest album. It was so dark and moody, and Mugg's beats were almost dank and dungeon-like. Everything before III was Cypress Hill trying to find their identity, and everything after was them moving a little more towards the mainstream rap circle. I'm not saying they sold out, it's just that their music has become a little more of what one would expect from a rap group. If you don't have III: Temples of Boom, you need to buy it. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Till Death Do Us Part, however, is a more mundane and forgettable chapter in Cypress Hill's history.
3 or 4 Solid Songs to Add to Your Mix Playlist.......2005-09-12
There are some really good songs on this album, and some that I'd like to scratch out of the disk. THIS IS NOT POP RAP. You have been forewarned. Another Body Drops, Latin Thugs, What's your Number, and Street Wars make this album worth picking up by themselves. Latin Thugs is a nice track that includes some spanish lyrics and a nice flow. In Street Wars and Another Body Drops, Muggs puts together good hard beats that complement B Real's style. What's your Number is a Story within a song, B-Real does a good job with his flow, the only thing about it I didn't really like was the chorus, but it was very forgiveable.
If you didn't like other Cypress Hill albums, you should still try this one out, it's got a different feel than other albums from the Hill. 4 Stars, I listen to it all the time.
Above average(3 and a half stars).......2005-04-11
This is a solid album. It's not up there with the Cypress finest, but it comes through on a few tracks. "What's Your Number" is the album's finest moment. Storytelling like that is just not out there anymore. "Busted in the hood" will probably form a smile on old school rap fans. The four opening tracks hold their own throughout the album. the latin rap caught my attention a lot. what really keeps this album above average is without a doubt good beats backing b-real's classic flow. A very good driving CD.

Beyond the slaughterhouse.......2005-12-24
It is the best - or one of the best - rap group I know because their words are perfect in their violence and yet deeper than just plain violent ? They contain suffering that gives the violence a density it wouldn't have otherwise. But the best part of this group is the musical background which is an essential part of the work, of the art of theirs. Their music has a classical dimension that we could easily compare or trace back to some great classical, romantic or even baroque music. The metallic drums are of course fooling no one. The other instruments or sounds are very close to what they could be in - to shock if I can some classicists - Tachaikovsky and other Russian composers of that generation, but also the whole palette of the American symphonists, or Dvarak, and so many others. They mix musical sounds with the greatest pleasure in the musical orgy they create this way. Don't be afraid if you get some mexican atmosphere, suddenly, in one piece. But is this CD, is this musical score, concert, work, what its title announces ? Is it a death rite, a funeral danse, a danse macrabre, a requiem of modern times, what we also called a long time ago a Descente aux Ténébres, a Descent into Tenebrae ? Yes it sure is, yes, definitely yes. A descent into Hell and an attempt to come back alive from that voyage to the Kingdom of Death and Hecate. And the darkness is not only in the destination. It is everywhere in the language, in the accents, in the intonations, in the looks of the sound. Everything slightly colorful has its place here no matter how little. This is a CD of darkness, of all the shades of black and dark grey, a voyage underground to better know what is on top of this bloody earth, I mean an earth where blood seems at times to be running in the riverbeds or in the city gutters just as if the monsoon were coming from the exhaust pipe of a slaughterhouse, and guns are at hand everywhere grasped by angry fingers that only want to compensate their frustration by pulling on the trigger or by stabbing a back with a blade. Sure signs of an impotent world in which fertility has been reduced to sterile masturbation of a mind completely sterilized by the cult of weapons and violence. This is the vision Goya has made famous in so many of his drawings. Picasso made it a masterpiece with his Guernica. Bosch and Brueghel have made all that apocalyptic chaos more famous than any painting about the descent into Hell or the Last Jusgment adorning so many walls of so many romanesque churches in Europe. That's the inspiration of these Cypress Hill and they real give you the desire to ****** (there will never be enough stars) this cynical world.
