With his third solo release since dissolving Grant Lee Buffalo, one of roots rock's great also-rans, Phillips relishes the relative advantages of the singer-songwriter style. He sketches characters with nuance, tosses off epigrammatic love songs, dives into painterly rural reveries, traces an obscure Southern myth while banging on a banjo, and offers bittersweet praise to friendship. His voice and melodic knack are all the continuity he needs. That voice, a grainy croon distilled from blue-eyed soul and California country cool, remains a prime attraction. If the tasteful, lissome country-folk backing of steel guitar, fiddle, piano, drums, and harmony vocals from Cindy Wasserman is a tad shy of adventurous, the sound suits the ripe, romantic, and dreamy mood of Phillips's songs. --Roy Kasten

4 out of 5 stars You can't go wrong here!.......2006-07-03

After listening to some jazz, I put this one in the player, and it instantly impressed me. Grant's voice is smooth and assured, and his lyrics have their own hard-won poetic licence. Sure, some older fans have lamented the lack of change they seem to expect from him, but I have to heartily disagree: The mix of instruments with his voice is so relaxing you'll save on the hot water bill. It's a hot tub soothing mixture to the ears. Let it in, and enjoy!

I heard "see america" and "mobilize" by grant-lee a few months ago, and I was hooked. Without doing any research I immediately went out and bought the only cd the cd store had, Virginia creeper. Horrors! Dear God, this is the most sickeningly sweet, sentimental cd I've ever heard. It's almost as bad as all those commercial n'sync or country songs aimed at your tender heartstrings -- their one and only purpose. Loved by grandmothers everywhere. However, if you are an adult who doesn't appreciate being manipulated in such a fashion, please avoid this repulsive album! The rest of his stuff might be great, but I'll never know because I've been burned once and I won't make the mistake of wasting my money on his music again. Yeah, he's got a great voice, and it isn't the style of music I object to, it's the cheesy lyrics! It makes me want to vomit.

(I put this under the kid's review because everytime I review they put my real name up for anyone to see. Yeah, anyone heard of online safety? Not amazon, apparently.)

5 out of 5 stars Relief from Mainstream Music.......2005-09-02

I had never heard of Grant-Lee Phillips until a few days ago. Now I'm wondering why he isn't more popular. This guy can sing. If you, like me, are tired of mainstream musicians who have little talent but tons of fame, give this CD a try. It's refreshing to find a true musician who hasn't been swept away by media-hype.

4 out of 5 stars Grant Lee Phillips's Latest Beauty (4.5 stars).......2004-07-22

That Grant Lee Phillips' solo output has not reached the same legendary indie status of his former band, Grant Lee Buffalo, more than a mystery it's a crime.
"Virginia Creeper," his third solo album, may not be as breathtaking as the hushed "Ladies Love's Oracle" nor as adventurous as "Mobilize," but it is worthy of their company.
Phillips is a remarkable songwriter, capable of the utmost intimacy at the drop of a hat, at ease with creating melodies that, before you know it, can give your thoughts its proper music.
The spare accompaniment here is flawless, mainly gorgeous violin and his acoustic guitar, subtle drums and tasteful piano, and some mandolin and steel guitar which tinge most tunes with Country overtones without lacking a Pop sensibility. Tunes like "Making Memory," "Mona Lisa" or "Always Friends" have exquisite arrangements and remind you of what a great singer Phillips is.
In total, this is an album without low points, more likely the kind where everyone may end up with different new favorites.

4 out of 5 stars The Mellow Fellow.......2004-07-10

Grant-Lee's "Mona Lisa" recently appeared on an episode of TV's "Summerland." It's a mellow opener to this fine set. Grant-Lee's voice shines exceptionally well in this stripped-down instrumental setting. "Lily-A-Passion" boasts an original melody with Richard Dodd's lovely cello and a poetic lyric, "She's a piratey soul, full a' vinegar & glitter; She's a song of her own from down the wrong end of the river." My favorite track is "Dirty Secret" with Grant-Lee's airy Nick Drake-like vocal spreading over his slow wistful melody, "From the ballroom you can hear them laughing, pretty maidens & your own Don Juan." "Calamity Jane" may or may not be about Jane Fonda, but the strings flesh out the restless churning melody, "Washed in the tears of the revolution, babe; born in the back of a Studebaker, American-made." "Far End of the Night" is another lyrical masterpiece, "Not a rail to grasp ahold nor a savior there beside, just kept walkin' like Virginia to the surf toward the far end of the night." Gram Parsons is one of country-rock's most interesting characters having launched Emmylou Harris' career, producing two classic LPs after the Flying Burrito Brothers, and then having his corpse kidnapped after his death. Phillips takes his signature song "Hickory Wind" and does it proudly with a great aching vocal that accents the emotional lonliness of the track, "In South Carolina there are many tall pines; I remember the oak tree that we used to climb, but now when I'm lonesome I always pretend that I'm getting the feel of hickory wind." "Virginia Creeper" is an excellent disc that shows Phillips to be a quite mellow fellow and is gorgeous with its lyrical depth and stunning melodies. I might have enjoyed a couple full-throttle fast tempo tunes in the mix, but what's here is excellent. Enjoy!

With the release of Take Back the Universe and Give Me Yesterday, San Francisco's indie-rock darlings Creeper Lagoon take a large directional leap into the mainstream alternative realm of full harmonies and slick production. For their second full-length album, the band worked with four different producers (Jerry Harrison, Dave Fridmann, Greg Wells, and Mark Trombino) to add lush melodic textures and pack synthesized swirls and beats around their high-soaring tracks. As a result, Take Back the Universe is an energized burst of radio-friendly rock built on tenderly emotional songs that yield completely to the soft pop spot in Creeper's musical heart. Opening tracks "Chance of a Lifetime" and "Wrecking Ball" set the Take Back tone, boosting wistful lyrics about easy living and stumbling relationships with sparkling rock endorphins. Throughout the disc, melancholy sentiments build into robust choruses as the songs trip through co-vocalists Ian Sefchick and Sharky Laguana's musings on love and lighthearted affairs. With the release of Take Back the Universe, Creeper Lagoon show they have the ability to embrace their sensitive sides with the sweetness of old indie bands like Sugar without hydroplaning on an overly spit-shined final product. --Jennifer Maerz

3 out of 5 stars Under the Tracks rocks.......2007-02-01

The song "Under the Tracks" is a standout perfect pop song, from O.C movie. It's a very happy song, it would be a good choice for a Hollywood cigarette theme, if cigarette ad were allowed in Brazil.

The other songs are forgettable, but are some OK songs, like the slower "Here We Are" and "Cellophane" and the upbeat "Wrecking Ball".

Some reference in Internet are assigning "Under the Tracks" to Coldplay. No chances.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Indie Rock.......2006-01-22

I've always had a couple random songs by these guys on my computer (Wrecking Ball, Under the Tracks) and loved them. I decided to finally pick this disc up recently and am very glad I did. If you are into Indie Rock that doesn't feel too Indie, then you will enjoy this disc. The songs are catchy, but don't ever cross the line into cheesy radio-type rock crap. The vocals are solid and the musicianship tight. If you're into some good chill stuff I would give this disc a spin.

5 out of 5 stars This album shoulda been huge.......2004-06-30

On this album Creeper Lagoon unleashed a huge sound that more than fulfilled the promise of their debut. Big soaring guitars and catchy tunes that actually have something going on below the surface. I can't figure out why this wasn't all over the radio and didn't sell a million copies. Not that I wanted everybody running around in Creeper Lagoon shirts, but they deserved better. I know they're still around in a different form, but it just isn't like it was on this album. Ian (the ex-lead singers) new band On the Speakers is really good though, and if you miss what he added to the band check them out. They only have an ep out now, but it's got some great catchy stuff on it that's very reminiscent of Creeper. If you never heard this album, you need to get it. I've had it since it first came out and I still listen to it nearly every week, I just can't get sick of it.

4 out of 5 stars Try something new!.......2004-02-20

An unusual more sophisticated slant on punk rock. It's amazing some of the bands that make it to main stream, while ones with actual talent, like Creeper Lagoon, go largely unnoticed. Don't miss out on this one.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best CD's ever released!.......2003-09-26

1/3 Guided By Voices + 1/3 Bob Mould + 1/6 U2 + 1/6 Fig Dish = Creeper Lagoon. Plain and simple, this is one of the greatest CDs ever created. If I were stranded on an island and could somehow only get my hands on one CD, this would be a strong contender for that CD. Not only is it one of the best CDs ever, it also contains "Wrecking Ball", one of the greatest songs ever written. If you have any love of indie pop rock, then I can promise you that you will fall in love with this CD from the first listen, and you will always be able to put it in without getting bored. GREAT!

5 out of 5 stars Groovalicious.......2005-08-29

This is my fave Lou Donaldson disc, but not because of Lou (who's playing is so ultimately relaxed here that it almost falls off of Rudy Van Gelder's tape). For me, the album is really all about Lonnie Smith. On this particular session he was at his grooviest, peeling off one tasty riff after another. His cool yet smokin' touch on the B3 keeps everyone on track and in like-minded fashion. The underrated Blue Mitchell plays it from the soul this time around, all slippery funk/blues. It's also nice to have George Benson on board whipping up some classy licks of his own. Along with Idris Muhammad's understated beat, the entire crew is just so very locked into the mode that this short(36:10) but killer album is the very definition of "Blue Note Rare Groove". The tune "Bag of Jewels" really lives up to it's name, a groovy little track that is straight outa '68. Dig it!

5 out of 5 stars This A'int Rock/Funk...It's Boogaloo.......2004-04-15

Lou, Lonnie,Idris, Blue, & G Benson. What more do you need to know?
Lou was most at home in an organ based setting, which showed off his melodic bop to best advantage.
It's like playing too much in tune see, fine in legit playing, but not on the bandstand.
There are a few in this series of Lou+organ, get them all.

3 out of 5 stars Nice Album.......2003-10-22

This is worth 3.5 stars I think, and probably worth owning if you like jazz. The fourth track, "Bag of Jewels" doesn't rate much of a mention on the original sleave notes, but it is a totally cooking track. For me this one is the highlight of the album. Meanwhile the first three tracks seem pretty tame by comparison. The final track is rather interesting. The organ seems to steal the show on this whole album for me but maybe that is because there are so few examples of it around these days. Lou Donaldson's sax seems fairly constrained most of the way, but enjoyable to hear none the less. Overall this is an easy album to listen too, but it lacks a bit of spark and spontaneity on the first few tracks.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Funky Soul Jazz w/ Lonnie, Idris and GB ! ! !.......2001-01-28

Featuring Lonnie Smith on the Organ, Idris Muhammad on Drums, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, and a young George Benson on guitar and recorded in '68, Midnight Creeper was one among a handful of albums w/ funky crossover tracks that Bluesy Charlie Parker disciple Lou Donaldson recorded in the late '60s. - - While Blue Note co-habitant Horace Silver and Riverside rival Cannonball Adderly explored the "straighter" sides of gospelly soul Jazz, it was the likes of Herbie Mann, Lou Donaldson and an entire school of Donaldson disciples like Big John Patton, Grant Green, Reuben Wilson and Lonnie Smith who all out embraced the James Brown school of funk, often taking the timeless 12 bar blues tradition of the B-3 (as interpreted by the likes of Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff and Jimmy McGriff) and adding a latin tinged funk beat known as Boogaloo - - the rest is history.

Tunes on this album start with Midnight Creeper, built on Donaldson's famous Alligator Boogaloo format (which he claims was just nothing but a 12 bar blues with a good name !), the groovy yet gospelly Love Power, the Mellow and Jazzy Elizabeth, the Lonnie Smithish funkfest Bag of Jewels (if you dig it, check out Lonnie Smith's LIVE AT CLUB MOZAMBIQUE, MOVE YOUR HAND, as well as the music of Leon Spencer) and finally a funky blues grind 'n shuffle called Daper Dan.

Today a young generation of organists such as Adam Scone and Soulive have made efforts to pick up on this distinctly funky Blue Note sound, yet I'm sure you'll agree after getting wiped away by this classic soul Jazz recording, the Turbonator and Sweet Poppa will never be out done.

(P.S. If you're surprized to hear this young incarnation of George Benson giving Melvin Sparks a run for his money, check him out on the late great Jack McDuff's LIVE circa 1963 !)

4 out of 5 stars Great Soul Jazz Re-issue.......2000-12-19

Probably the best of Lou Donaldson's backbeat-driven rock/funk recordings. With Melvin Sparks (guitar) and Idris Muhammad (drums). "Dapper Dan" is a King Curtis Tune.

Amazon.com's Best of 1998

Creeper Lagoon are just a few guys in a band. Their story is basically the same as those of most indie-rock bands. They dress the same, play the same types of instruments, have no physically striking members. So why is this album one of the best of 1998? It's not because their sound is radically different, and it's not because it's avant-garde or experimental. It's simply because their songs are just that much more. The tracks are eerie but not weird, lovely and sad but not sappy, highly produced yet stark and simplistic. Broad musical influences shine through on the Eastern-tinged song "Prison Mix." "Empty Ships" bathes in silky guitars. I Become Small and Go's success is in its contradictions. It's a morose album that will remind you of the best times of your life. --Beth Bessmer

5 out of 5 stars Awesomeness in a Disc.......2007-07-10

There are heaps of praise which I could lay upon the feet of this CD, and creeper lagoon. I could go on about how I had to buy this CD from amazon because my last one wore out. I could even talk about the first time I saw them open for Harvey Danger (Hey it was a free ticket) and they were so good that that went down as one of my top five concerts (and is where i bought the CD in the first place).

But I will endeavor to avoid personal opinion. This CD, start to finish, is a well crafted entertainment machine. Though it was largely lost in the late nineties deluge of "similar" styled musicians, I Become Small and Go is about three cuts above its contemporaries. The vocals, instrumentals, and even the track order come together to create a listening experience.

However, therein lies the problem. Many of the tracks are somewhat similar, and indistinct from the others, this makes individual songs not as strong. However taken has a whole the tracks works masterfully together. I am not certain reliance on other tracks for support is such a bad thing, but there it is.

Try it out, its awesome and worth a listen... if you can find it.

Also keep listening to the last track, there is a bonus track!

5 out of 5 stars OH my Gosh! This Creeper Lagoon CD Rules! Dope!.......2005-06-16

Man, just when I thought other Grunge Rockers were dope, came Creeper Lagoon. Dude, they are the sh*t! The music is so indie and melodic...Basically, all of the songs are excellent. The more you listen, the more you will love this album. Excellent Acoustic Piano, Base and Guitars. Beautiful Riffs and Strides.
Creeper is awesome. It makes me wonder: Why do these guys right now have day jobs? They should have hit it big with thier sound.
Peace

4 out of 5 stars Weezer meets Folk Implosion meets Mark Eitzel.......2001-10-10

With the proper radio airplay, this album would probably attract a similar audience to those mindless souls that buy Collective Soul and Goo Goo Dolls CDs. Because on the surface, I Become Small might appear to be Fastball sound-alike, or a tricked-out Better Than Ezra record. ......Oh, but it is so much more than any of that! It would be a shame for it to be usurped and inevitably misunderstood by a lowest-common-denominator audience. It's an album is like everything you've ever heard and nothing you've ever heard. Filled with catchy yet cerebral gems, it's that secret CD you play when people are over and they say, "damn that's pretty good, who are they?" This likely would occur right around track 3, "Empty Ships," which is a better song than Fastball could ever dream of creating. Pop radio is not worthy of it!

4 out of 5 stars Three-quarters of a breathtaking album........2000-05-11

I play this CD quite a bit, and each time I am equally thrilled, yet puzzled, because the I Become Small And Go sounds likes a compliation between two different bands. One of those bands is woeful (see Prison Mix and Black Hole). However, the other band, the band I like to believe is the "real" Creeper Lagoon, has created some truly wonderful music. Examples of this excellence include Wonderful Love, Tracy, and Dear Deadly. In addition, while each of those tunes is terrific, Dreaming Again is even better, and positively haunting in its lushness. In sum, those four songs make the album a worthwhile purchase, even if they are merely a glimpse of what is possible rather than what has heretofore been realized, as a total packaged album, by Creeper Lagoon.

3 out of 5 stars big production.......2000-04-06

There are several songs on this album I really like, but for the most part it sounds like a polished and faceless version of indie rock's best moments collected together on one cd, under one band's name. I don't understand why there's so much hype surrounding it.

Album Description

Jamie Green's artistry is an arc of darkness and light. In a voice distinguished by its power and emotion, she communicates lyrics of startling directness, at times playful, at other times deeply contemplative. Her debut album, My Crime, is a fully realized work, conceptual, personal and universal. Framed by organic instruments and a shimmering classic radio mix, the record takes you on a musical journey of soulful rock and funky folk. While sometimes edgy and sometimes sweet, every song is distinguished by its catchy pop melody. The listener sings along with each, without ever having heard it before.

Jamie's songs explore the vast regions of relationships, spirituality, sexuality, and politics. Addressing a reluctant potential lover in "We're Alone," she admits to having been "left with luggage" too, but asks him to "please pretend that I'm not your mother or your ex-girlfriend." In the confessional title track, she admits that not giving love, life, or faith a chance, she has committed the ultimate crime: "Have I spent well the time? Well I'm not so sure. And that's my crime." In "Sisyphus" and "Malcolm X," she pays homage to those who have fought hard for a more just world. "Still Burn" delights in the lighter side of lost love while "Won't Regret" is a candid portrait of a woman refusing to regret a dangerous love. "I Know a Sister" explores the emotional and physical consequences of such a love, and the spiritual antidote. "Go On Girl" and Tellin' Lies" are songs of compassion and encouragement. The highly catchy "Pickin' Up the Pieces" is a break-up song that is pure clasic pop-rock.

This self-produced indie CD is high in production value, simple, elegant, tasty and packed with emotion. Anyone who enjoys the music of the powerful Lilith Faire women, must add this CD to their collection.

3 out of 5 stars One Song is Really Good.......2006-02-23

After my first listen, I can tell you "Way it Goes" is a remarkable song.

The rest of the songs are unobtrusive. "Way it goes" (which is very similar in style to the Wallflowers "Closer to You") is great to listen to while writing poetry. The electronic muffled beat adds a sort of "trapped emotions within the syncopated rhythm of the heartbeat's unforgivingly ordinary tempo of life" sort of a feel. Although I like this song very much, it sort of doesn't go anywhere but it's still a 4-5 star song.

4 out of 5 stars Gorgeous and breathy.......2004-07-30

Following the "demise" of CL popular, I stumbled upon this release wanting to know what happened after the emancipation of Ian.

Que surpris!

This EP is better than it deserves to be and is so sonically gorgeous that it will melt into your brain for days after listening. I've heard people mistakenly call this brand of pop on this EP as "emo". Shame, shame.

Neo-psychedelic trappings that swirl around conventional pop mechanisms. You will hear overdubs, overlapping guitars, piano-balladry (without being maudlin) and solid melodies. Lyrics add to the melancholy, sadness, joy... (or is it the other way around?) Sharky might not have the delivery or urgency that the old Creeper provided with Ian and company, but it works as a mantra for new directions and sounds for the band. Somehow in my own brain, several tracks remind me of a better and more obtuse Brit-pop, like Coldplay and Travis.

"The Way It Goes" haunts me the most, but all tracks are solid. Listen closely and absorb well. Re...

5 out of 5 stars simply gorgeous.......2003-09-29

while we'll all mourn the loss of the band that created such masterpieces as I Become Small and Go, Take Back The Universe..., etc. - this EP is amazing...truly beautiful and heartfelt music. The depth of emotion is incredible - Sharky certainly isn't going to win any singing contests -- but who cares?? -- the songs themselves are stellar. Keep your fingers crossed that the next full length LP will be in this vein...

2 out of 5 stars Disheartened...................at best.......2003-09-07

I am an old school creeper fan and just have to express how disappointed I am in the the former lineup disbandment (the loss of Ian Sefchick, actually) These guys were the sweetest ish since Sunny Day Real Estate/Run DMC/Beastie Boys.....you get my point) I swore up and down these guys were headed for massive success....not because they necessarily had a perfect pop formula (some would argue they did, including myself) but because their music was genuine and held an amazing balance, which I think no band has done since, of indie rock sensibility, pure melodic/pop bliss, and urban/hip hop influence (specifically "I become small and go album") All members continue to be great musicians, but the magic that Ian and Sharky created will be missed dearly.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful.......2002-12-24

Music so pretty and "deep" just makes me wanna cry. Creeper Lagoon sans founding member Ian Sefchik is in fine shape with Sharky running the show. Always liked his haunting voice more anyway. This is just a morsel of heaven to tide us over to the next studio full-lengther. Hurry up already!

Album Description

Using organic and sometimes retro instrumentation, loops and light electronica to present her well-crafted, thoughtful songs, Jamie forges her own brand of contemporary pop that is funky, folky, moody, meaningful and soulful. About half of the album was written in New York City, where Jamie lived for five months following the World Trade Center Tragedy. "Soul Connected" tells the story of an unlikely pair who meet in the subway and fall in love, only to be separated for reasons beyond their control. "Taximan" starts off where Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" left off, musing on the American Dream from an immigrant's perspective in post-9/11 NYC: Where are you from? they ask/and he always dreads the question/He came to NYC to git with Lady Liberty/and the flag he displays prominently/shields him from the vigilantes/they don't know that he sings with Tracy/and he has a dream like you and me.

Two beautiful and haunting odes to unconditional love between close friends appear on the album, as does the stirring social protest song, "Mantra," and the rockin' title track, "Truce." Much of the rest of the record explores the various stages and forms of romantic love: "Don't Even Waste My Time" (a modern girl's love song), "Birdz & Beez" (a trip-hoppy lust-song); and "Daddy's Grace" (a shockingly honest testimonial), to name just a few.

Two songs on this CD have received honors from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest—"Don't Even" in the Rock category in 2001 and "Mantra" in the Folk category in 2002.

I really like this CD, and the reasons are many. For one, James recorded a veary good, and enjoyable live concert. Another reason is that all the song are his best. I also enjoyed how James allowed the other band members to express themselfs on this CD. It's worth buying!!!

2 out of 5 stars Watered-down Must Pardon..........2007-07-12

...should be the title of this EP. I tried to get into this, I really did. I gave it chance after chance. I'm also not of the camp who feel betrayed by all of the post IBSAG CL output. This is just an uninspired set that screams 'identity crisis.' Wait, it doesn't even have the conviction to scream...this EP half-heartedly whispers it. Sorry guys, but in the end a turd is a turd, and no amount of that opulent Dreamworks polish can hide the smell.

5 out of 5 stars I miss Creeper Lagoon........2005-12-12

One or three times an album, Creeper Lagoon would write the perfect pop song.

Regardless of whether or not you like the rest of the mid-tempo, glossy rock of theirs that would be perfect on any summer night sunset drive, "Centipede Eyes" and "Roman Hearts" are worth getting this CD alone.

4 out of 5 stars Nice extension of debut album.......2001-10-10

A little more straightforward indie rock, with less drum machine/synth flourish than on I Become Small And Go. Still, it sounds great, very well produced, with lots of atmosphere. Perhaps an indication of where the band is headed on their next full-length. "Centipede Eyes" is as good as anything on the debut CD. Every song on here is good to very good. A must-have for Creeper fans.

4 out of 5 stars GET OVER IT.......2000-11-02

Creeper lagoon makes some of the catchiest and most soothing guitar pop since I can remember. I don't know of any band that i would rather listen to when it comes to dream pop. Every song on this EP is excellent and highly reccommended. Yet, despite this, whiny indie brats are finding any way to trash it.

Yeah, it's hi-fi. Incredibly Hi-fi for that matter. So, it only makes sense that old Creeper Lagoon fans are a little turned off. Get over the fact that it's a little over produced. And when you do, you will realize that the songs are still catchy and dreamy in their essence, and they haven't really changed their song structures. If Creeper becomes a commercial entity, they will still have my support. It is not like they've changed their style much at all. Only the production. Get over your oversized low-fi only ego's and just listen.

1 out of 5 stars bland and boring.......2000-10-29

creeper lagoon needs to decide whether they want to be commercial or artsy, it's that simple. right now they sound like a watered down pavement or worse yet, the wallflowers jr. i don't care about the dreamworks money, no one should. radiohead just made an album full of uncompromising songs for capitol and the flaming lips made the best record of 1999 for warner brothers, so let us not speak of money, sell out, or indie vs. major labels anymore. musically, however, this record is just a big wash of nothingness. give us hooks, give us ambience, for god's sake, give us something. the songs are so half baked, it's like they're hoping that if they add some effects to the mix it will actually help the mix. i also know that i'm not the only one who thinks that singer no. 2 should not sing. somebody get that guy a harmonizer or a pitch bender quick. to sum it up, yeah they do sound like the wallflowers, and, um, that's not good.
