Tom Jones all but invented saucy power pop back before the sixties even started to swing when his second single "It's Not Unusual" rocketed up the UK charts in 1965. After that initial triumph the singer never looked back, tying his hair back with a thin black ribbon and putting some rather expressive body English into his stage moves, which assured that the stage floor would be routinely pelted with various undergarments pitched by enthusiastic fans. Almost four decades later both Jones and his audience are no less fervent as Wales' second-most famous export runs through his extensive and varied songbook, still imbuing his old chestnuts like "What's New Pussycat?" and "Delilah" with a sense of naughty fun and irony. But Jones is at his best while giving the latest generation of rockers a run for their money, as he pairs up with the likes of Wyclef Jean, the Sterophonics, Art of Noise, the Cardigans, and Mousse T; as he overhauls staid tired standards like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)" or "Baby It's Cold Outside" with his arch humor and gutsy delivery. Prince's "Kiss" crackles with an inner light that even the great Minneapolis savant didn't intend, while his duet with Portishead is as cold and disturbing as a grave. A must have album. --Jaan Uhelszki

This album shows that Tom can still sing the songs that hew made made him famous plus he can sing todays music. This is a great compact disc.

4 out of 5 stars A copycat from an old Tom Jones CD.......2007-03-24

SOrry but the album Reload was launched in Europe some 7 or 8 years ago, with spectacular duets including Robbie Williams, Van Morrison and others. I bought it in Spain and since then, is one of my favorites in my car. I still admire his powerful voice and his intensity when performing.

5 out of 5 stars He's still got it..........2007-01-26

Bought this in anticipation for a girls trip to Vegas where we had tickets to see Mr. Tom Jones. It pumps me up everytime and puts a smile on my face! LOVE it!!!!

Album Description

R. Kelly has had 26 Top 40 hits, won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2001 MOBO Awards, and his anthemic smash 'Ignition Remix' entered the charts at No.1. TP.3 Reloaded features a 5-part musical soap opera entitled "Trapped...In The Closet." In typical daring R. Kelly style he has experimented with the art of storytelling and lyrics to create something very unique. The concept behind the soap on "Trapped...In The Closet" comes from back in the day, when the radio was the only entertainment available. Families would sit round the radio to listen to shows and plays for evening entertainment.

3 out of 5 stars R. Kelly- TP3.Reloaded.......2007-05-28

Well i was really excited for this album. I was literally counting down the days for the release. And maybe that is why it did not appeal to me that much. I mean it was far from bad, but i built it up to much. I was expecting way better. He has changed his sound so much over the last few years from Chocolate Factory and TP2 maybe thats why it was a bit dissapointing. First of all the "Trapped In The Closet" set was cool for the first three chapters and then that got old real fast. But there are a few standout tracks dispite some filler. The perfectly produce "Kickin It With Your Girlfriend" is so mellow and relaxing with its mid tempo beat, while the same can be said about "Sex Weed" only with that signature sexy edge to it. But the mistake is when you get to "Girls Go Crazy". This song is down right awful, its like listening to dogs bark. Kells can do alot better than this. This album is heavily driven on sex and even for R this album has a little to much of it. I mean some of the songs are good but the obsession with sex does get old. The only time it really seems like he wonders away from it is for the not so appealing Trapped In The Closet series, which also gets old REAL FAST. The bottom line is that this album had some major anticipation and i did not live up to it. It was an alright album when most were expecting something way better. But thats not to say its not worth buying if you are an R.Kelly fan. Because despite it being a bit over the line on the sex tip, it still has some decent songs to be played. Only buy if you are a big R.Kelly fan!!!

3 out of 5 stars It does not start out with a bang it ends with one.......2007-01-11

After hearing Happy People, its certain that R Kelly needs to step it up or step off. Even though R Kelly is a great singer that leaves a definite impression with each album he makes, Happy People showed that he was not going to be the same. This album follows suit. Trapped In The Closet(chapters 1-5) is the best and most creative song R Kelly ever made. The story of infidelity(with more twists and turns than your average soap opera) will keep you listening to all 5 chapters of Trapped In The Closet with no hesitation. Unfortunately the rest of this album is not as spectacular. Standout Tracks: PLAYA'S ONLY(feat Game), HAPPY SUMMERTIME(feat Snoop) and SLOW WIND are all good club records. TOUCHIN with Nivea is a decent but explicit love jam but none of these songs is touching the epic Trapped In The Closet(chapters 1-5). Filler: Sex in the kitchen and Put my T-shirt on are flat out dull, Remote control is a dumb love jam with a corny concept, Sex weed and (Sex) Love is what we makin are just as bad as the titles and Turn it up is so wack it makes you hate reggaeton. Other disposable songs: Girls Go Crazy(if this what R Kelly and Birdman's Best of Both Worlds would have sounded like then the whole world dodged one hell of a bullet!), Reggae Bump Bump(just as bad as it sounds), Hit It Till The Morning(all those people on one record and it still sucked),and Kickin It With Your Girlfriend(ran out of ideas for a song). Bottom Line: R Kelly can do much better than this and if he cant its time for him to throw in the towel. Sure all 5 chapters of Trapped In The Closet are great but the rest of this album is not as great as Trapped In The Closet.

5 out of 5 stars Good CD.......2006-12-27

This is a really good CD. I enjoyed it. Most of the songs were good. 2 or 3 songs I really wasn't in to, but overall I really like it. I don't agree with what he does behind closed doors, but I do agree with his music. I will agree with other reviewers about this not being his best CD. I got what I payed for. It was woth it.

Just save your money don't buy it.
I'm begging you DON'T BUY IT.

3 out of 5 stars Talent That Can't Be Denied.......2006-08-15

Everybody has something to say about Kells. One thing is certain: Brother could sing a song about Chicken N Dumplings and it would be catchy. No real hits, save "Slow Wind," which is TIGHT! Trapped in the Closet is unique, but won't make a CD. The sex tracks are beneath his demonstrated potential; give those to Omariando Houston or RayJay or Ying Yangs. Compared to what else is out, he is still the man. No other living popular R&B singer is close (Usher is a distant second).

It would be impossible--and unfair--to expect The Matrix Reloaded to surpass the dizzying special effects, philosophical mind-twisters, and wicked sci-fi mayhem of the first Matrix movie. The same holds true for its soundtrack sequel which, like the original, sets an ominous atmosphere with industrial beats, in-your-face metal riffs, and supersonic computerized techno. Highlights include Linkin Park's swirling morass of scratches, stutters and keyboards; the grooves thrown down by Oakenfold and Fluke that party with the gloom of a burned-out factory; and Rob Zombie, P.O.D., and Marilyn Manson's explosive, brain-bending digi-rock. Unfortunately, for the most part, the dark patches of Reloaded plod rather than soar (the Deftones' murky "Lucky You"), and rehash tired ideas instead of creating new frontiers (an Oakenfold remix of Dave Matthews Band that sticks out like khaki pants at a goth club). Surprisingly monotonous, Reloaded is unfortunately yet another second act that pales in comparison to its predecessor. --Annie Zaleski

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2007-01-12

Bought this for my husband and my son, they both love it. Said it's a must have.

5 out of 5 stars Music to kick@$$ to!.......2007-01-04

Arguably better than the first soundtrack, the second films music is straight in your face and that's how we like it. The perfect compliment to any high octane action flick, tracks by metal giants like Manson and Zombie get the disc kicked off but it's Chino who steals the whole show with offerings from both his bands. The Deftones offer us their softer side with `Lucky You' which is personally my favorite track here, and one of my favorite songs period. Chino's side band Team Sleep also offers one of the CD's best tracks. Chino is god, he knows this! Songs from techno giants like Fluke, Oakenfold (awesome track) and Rob Dougan litter the remainder of disc one (and Linkin Park delivers a disc highlight), and disc two settles down with a brilliant score for the film. Great compliment to the movie...in fact I'm tempted to say that this collection of rock and techno tracks may even be BETTER than the movie...tempted!

4 out of 5 stars A Great Bunch of Songs.......2005-12-23

This CD rocks, and includes a great variety of songs that go great together. Except Rage. Why include another Rage song? By this time they weren't even a band anymore. Also includes the best Linkin Park song ever. Why, I say that? Because there's no singing. If they put out an album of their instrumental stuff, I'd buy it. Ever LP song is a Japanese dude rapping with an annoying white guy screaming over him. Anyways, the Zombie, Manson, Dougan songs are all great. Wish they included another Rammstein song, though.

3 out of 5 stars Needs to be Reloaded again........2005-07-04

With the Success of the Matrix back in 99, it was only a matter of time before the sequel would arrive. Now along with the original Matrix came a hard-hitting soundtrack from today's top rock/metal bands. So with Reloaded also came the music soundtrack. And to put it bluntly the music surpasses the movie itself, but not by much. What we get for Reloaded is a two disc set with mixed results.

Disc one of Reloaded follows in the same footsteps of the first movie by bringing out the hard rock. The disc opens with a snooze from Linkin Park with "session" and only manages to get a little better after that. The tracks range from good, RATM's "Calm like a Bomb". To really poor, Team Sleep "pass portal". To the downright ugly, why in the world is the Dave Matthews band on here? The standout track is the ever good Rob Dougan's "Furious Angels". An epic combination of symphony and techno. Overall, a big letdown. 1 star.

Luckily we get a second disc that tries to redeem the first. Disc two encompasses Don Davis's score from the first movie carried over for the second, and in my opinion one of the best techno bands ever, Juno Reactor. With the combination of their two talents we get some excellent pulse pounding music in the "Mona Lisa Overdrive" and "the burly brawl." This music really helps you get into the action scenes. Disc two really helps the movie experience and is fun to listen to. 4 ½ stars.

As a bonus this cd comes enhanced with a couple trailers and a short making of the videogame for Enter the Matrix. Its not very insightful but they are still cool additions, which boosts this cd's score by ½ a star.

In closing, after the huge bar set by the Matrix its sequel just couldn't live up to the hype of the first. The film was bad but the soundtrack only manages to squeak by because of Davis's score and the nice addition with Juno Reactor. I only recommend this for the second cd and the extras, but even then I'd only buy it dirt cheap. 3 stars in the end.

4 out of 5 stars Disk 1=TRASH.......2005-03-04

The fist time I listened to disk 1 I thought I was trapped in a nightmare. If I were you I would buy it and stomp on disk 1 till it cracked or blow it up with explosives

5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2007-05-07

What can you say about one of the best comics of today. an awsome cd, extremely funny.

5 out of 5 stars An exceptionally funny CD.......2006-08-03

He's back! Bill Engvall, that stalwart of the Blue Comedy Tour, and a founding member of the Redneck Rat Pack. In this CD, Bill takes on everything from artificial insemination, children, and of course signs for stupid people.

Overall, I found this to be an exceptionally funny CD. Now, there are some parts that you will not want to listen to with younger or more sensitive listeners, which is pretty standard with Bill Engvall. But, if you listen to the CD, and get to know which scenes to skip, it is very well worth listening to. I love this CD, and highly recommend it to everyone.

Oh, by the way, I loved the final four tracks, which are musical. I especially loved #9, Don't Mess With Us!

3 out of 5 stars very funny but heard it.......2004-12-10

i like most of this jokes but most of this i heard in the other album's.

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious.......2004-06-10

Here's Your Sign: Reloaded is a little too short, but still very funny. One of the best tracks on the album is: Here's Your Sign (Don't Mess With Us). Ignore the other reviewers that complain about this track. Libs always scream "freedom of speech", until someone says something they don't like.

4 out of 5 stars Very good album....except for ONE THING!.......2004-04-19

I've been listening on and off to Bill Engvall for about 7 years, and he is often a very funny human being, and this album is no exception. I was laughing a LOT throughout this album and was in a generally good mood while listening to it...then "Here's Your Sign (Don't Mess With Us)" came on. This song is an anti-"Bush hater" song Bill did with Neal McCoy which starts off with them picking on the Dixie Chicks for what they said about W. I didn't hear the rest of it and though I may later on, I don't really want to hear any more of it. I have been against this sorry excuse for a war our country is having with Iraq since W came on and said they have WMDs (which I never believed from day one). Bill acknowledges Neal for not letting him sing the song alone (He couldn't have ticked me off more if he did the song with "No we HAVEN'T forgotten, Darryl!" Worley.)
The rest of the songs are funny, but after listening to as much of "Here's Your Sign (Don't Mess With Us)" as I did, I barely raised my spirits back to the level they were at during Bill's stand-up material.
If you are anything like me, please immediately skip that song, or make a copy of it without it. Trust me, you'll want to.

      5 out of 5 stars Too Overlooked.......2006-03-30

Get past the first 3 tracks and this is a GOLDMINE. Yes, it is a turn from their first release but the maturation and the hamonies are wonderful. This is Seattle Sound, if you are a fan of the "era" then Green Apple Quick Step ownership is a must.

In other words, if you have Nirvana albums, AIC, Tad, Soundgarden - this is just one of the many bands you'll wanna hear to know who was playing with the big boys and should have been making big money. (Sweet Water, Tad, Melvins)

3 out of 5 stars Much weaker than the debut, punkier and less focused........2004-01-24

Green Apple Quick Step had an unusually strong batch of songs on its debut, Wonderful Virus, injecting a Hawkwind-like love of science fiction and progressive-rock melodicism into its punk spirit. The result was one of the unsung beauties of '90s alternative rock.

Losing its record deal seems to have hurt the band, because Reloaded is a far weaker record, despite the involvement of Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam) as co-producer. The spritely "Dizzy", which appeared on the soundtrack to The Basketball Diaries, was a deserved radio hit, but "Los Vargos" seems very close to it melodically and only works because of the Ty Willman/Mari Ann Braeden vocal tag team. Braeden does a long-overdue lead vocal on "No Favors", but the song is basic punk nonsense: "I'm burned out on politics/Slimeball you make me sick/Deadhead get over it/I'm already gone"? This time around, there are fewer downright great rock anthems, and the band is most successful on poppier moments like "Dizzy", with its car-cruising chorus, and hidden track "Halloween", which sounds like an intimate acoustic-guitar jam with Braeden and Willman harmonizing quite beautifully.

The first album was better, hands down, thanks to a catchier batch of songs and heightened energy. If by some miracle you discover this band (and it deserves to be heard), Wonderful Virus is the place to start.

4 out of 5 stars Worth having in your collection.......2000-07-18

This is a really great album with the exception of 2 or 3 "okay" songs. Even on these songs the lyrics are deep and well thought out, rated "okay" only because the singer sounds as if he's reading his poetry notebook into the song with lack of a good melody. "Las Vargos" is by far the best song on the album as well as one of the best songs I have ever heard with it's rock-out quality, catchy words and melody. "Underwater" and "TV Girl" are deeply moving slower songs, the latter begining with the perfect guitar riff only to build up into a stronger and more beautiful rock ballad. Buy it.

      5 out of 5 stars Awesome.......1999-12-21

This is a fantastic album. I love all kinds of music but these guys are the best. From rockers like Los Vargos to acoustic rockers like Halloween. This is an album you can listen to over and over and still enjoy like you heard it for the first time. BUY THIS! You will love it.

5 out of 5 stars One listen and you're hooked!.......1998-06-25

This catchy and poppy album only requires that you listen to one song, then you're hooked and you won't be able to get that song out of your head, believe me, I know! Live, they play with so much energy and have fun on stage, causing you to want to jump on stage with them. Buy the CD(s) (this one is the best one they've put out, in my humble opinion) and see them live if at all possible!

        Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Top R&B release this year.......2005-07-27

This is by far the hotest album out right now next to the ying yang twins. Every song brought a unique and fresh flavor that kept tempting you to listen to each song 100 times. Excellent album, "Playas Only" was fenominal along with the dramatic soap opera of "Trapped In The Closet" pts.1-5. Very few of the songs in this album left you bored. This is definetly R.Kelly's greatest masterpiece ever. He will be getting a couple of grammy's for this extreme release.

        3 out of 5 stars 12 play it ain't.......2005-07-08

well, i finally listened to the tp-3 reloaded cd(thank god i didn't actually buy it) and i have to give it 3 stars. The only thing that kept this cd from getting 2 stars(and people buying it) is the 4 or 5 slow songs that are classic slow songs. When R-kelly tries to do anything else such as reggae it doesn't work. let me break it down for you(excluding playas only and the trapped in the closet saga):

1.Happy Summertime- 2.5/5- when i first heard this song i thought i had put in the happy people cd. Snoop being on the song doesn't help at all.

        2. Sex in the Kitchen- i can't even rate cuz its soo old. it was good when i first heard it like 2 years ago.

3.Slow wind-3/5-its not my favorite but i can really see djs blasting this in the club. Though it is the stronger reggae cut on this cd.

4.Put my t-shirt on-4/5- kinda like sex in the kitchen but without the food. it is a good song though. The beat is very sexy.

5.Remote Control-4/5- i like this song. its very sexy especially with the play on words(u can only imagine).

        6. Kickin it with your girlfriend-0/5- such a very stupid song. its very obvious he ripped off the very much played out Confessions saga with Usher, which usher did better.

7.Reggae bump-1/5- i hate this song. the beat is very wack. he doesn't sing hardly but does that whole talking thing that hes gettin known for. The beat is retarded and i don't mean that in a good way.

8.Touchin-4/5- one of the better songs on the record. its very mellow and slow.

9.Girls go crazy-1.5/5- obviuosly a left over from the botched best of both worlds 2 with baby. horrible song.

10.Hit it till the morning-4/5- nice ridin song. Twista, D.O.D, and the beat really make this song great. This should be his next fast single.

11.Sex Weed-5/5-great song. Once again a song with a play on words but its really very sexy and has a hint of the old R.kelly that we all love.

        12. sex love is what we makin-4/5-classic R. kelly . nuff said

13.Burn it up-3/5- okay reggae but r. kelly needs to stick to what he's known for and leave the reagge to the pros.

        1 out of 5 stars R&B Scrub.......2005-07-07

R.Kelly is clearly one of the most overrated R&B singer/producers working in urban music today. On the production side he'll never hold a candle to the greats like Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Babyface or Quincy Jones. Vocally Kells will never touch Johnny Gill, Brian McKnight, Joe and the late great Luther Vandross. In my opinion TP3: Reloaded has more misses hits and Kells has been on a slow decline since the amazing Chocolate Factory by getting worse with each CD. As with all my reviews I'll do a track by track by breakdown omitting tracks 15 -19 which is the Trapped In The Closet Chapters. Kells sounds horrible on the track vocally and I don't give a rat's ass if he's telling a story, if I want to hear then I'll get a book on tape. Trapped is nothing more than a throwback to radio and movie serials of the thirties that left you with a cliff hanger to the next week. Well here's my review:

1.Playa's Only feat. The Game - Scott Scotrch provides us with a killer beat but the track sounds like Home Alone Part 2 and The Game uses the same rap from How We Do. ** 1/2

        2. Happy Summertime feat. Snoop Dogg - This is one is a little better and gives off more of a laid back style. ***

3.Sex In The Kitchen - This song is two years old and although it's catchy the lyrics are very corny and it sounded better live. ** 1/2

4.Slow Wind - Another song where he's just talking and not Singing, he should have put AnyMore Room on the CD instead of this one, but I already know this is going to be a song for the clubs. ** 1/2

        5. Put My T-Shirt On - Although the lyrics are corny in this one, Kelly finally picks it up with this seductive song. ***

6.Remtoe Control - Another Winner and it's in the vein of You Remind Me Of My Jeep etc. ***

7.Kickin It With Your Girlfriend - Nothing but a trash talking number where Kells talks gibberish. **

8.Reggae Bump Bump - I never really cared for Reggae but this song is actually pretty hot. ***

        9. Touchin - This one needs to be a single. Even though neither Nivea nor Kells is that vocally strong this song is very sexual and one I'd play in the clubs. *** 1/2

        10. Girls Go Crazy - Trash I hope this wasn't what The Best Of Worlds II was supposed to sound like. *

        11. Hit It Till The Morning - Kells hooks up with Chi-town natives Twist and D0D for this one. Twista has a nice verse so that earns the song ***

        12. Sex Weed - Another Corny Pillow Talk song but it's a winner considering it has a nice beat and R.Kelly shows he's the only one who can get away with this. ***

13.Sex Love Is What We Makin - Standard R. Kelly song but nothing special even though it's one of the better slow cuts on the CD. ****

14.Burn It Up - This Reggae ton flavored track is one of the better songs on the CD before you get to that BS that is Trapped.

All in all I would say skip this one and download it unless you're an R.Kelly biter and rider and pick up Raheem DeVaughn's The Love Experience instead.
