Product Description
Eminem's most recent signing; The Game has been hailed as the most significant rapper since Eminem himself. His debut album The Documentary went straight to the top of the billboard charts and press activity remains rife with each consecutive single. As his numerous beefs continue and as he gains international recognition, the profile of The Game has far eclipsed that of his former band members in G Unit. Maximum The Game is the first ever biography of this massive new star of Rap. This CD reveals his true and complete story, from growing up in the birthplace of Gansta' Rap, the Compton area of LA, through to running the sound of the East Coast for a number of years. Featuring spoken word biography, interview segments, and news clips, completed with deluxe packaging, poster and booklets with rare photos, this collection has it all, making it an essential purchase for The Game's rising members of fans around the world. Chrome Dreams. 2005.

The Godfathers of Glitch and the Kings of Kling-Klang come out of seclusion with a double live CD culled from various concerts on their 2004 tour. Minimum-Maximum is essentially a greatest-hits album with an audience applauding and occasionally shouting. Without them, of course, you'd never know the album was live, since Kraftwerk is the band that put the programming in pop music. Not much has changed with them since the 1980s. They're still wired to the same sonic circuitry as on Electric Café in 1986, sculpting glistening electro-soundscapes that pulse but never quite groove. And they still sing in that flat, German-accented English and French with Speak and Spell electro-voices. But rather than sound dated, this has a timeless charm, especially since Kraftwerk are among the few Kraut rock groups with a sense of humor. With only two studio albums in the last 20 years, you have to give them credit for not caving in to current electronica and techno trends--Kraftwerk remain resolutely electronic. Even their samples sound synthesized. But also give them credit for some of the most relentlessly glistening electronic music ever crafted, and a sound that remains surprisingly pure. All the hits are here, from "Autobahn" to "Tour de France," but nicely buffed to a high chrome finish. --John Diliberto

4 out of 5 stars Kraftwerk still has what it takes........2007-06-07

Punchy live recordings of Kraftwerk's best known songs.

The CDs are programed wisely and the songs flow from one to the other quite nicely. This makes the CDs easy to listen to.

Some fans have doubts if Kraftwerk are still the leaders in electronic music, this set will ease those fears. They still have what it takes to create compelling music.

They have given us vital sounding new arrangements of aging material on this set. In doing this, Kraftwerk is giving long time fans value. And showing newer fans how a legendary band is able to adapt without losing their vision. And finaly they are showing everyone how a teacher learns from the student. To be a good teacher, one must be able to adapt and progress with the changing times. This is what Kraftwerk has done on this release.

5 out of 5 stars A great starter kit for those new to Kraftwerk!.......2007-04-18

A pivotal, amazing, extraordinary, pioneering electronic group such as Kraftwerk does not have a "greatest hits" collection. However, this really is not that saddening since it forces the interested buyer into purchasing their brilliant classic albums (Trans-Europe Express, Autobahn, etc.) like they should. However, for the timid person this CD is out there. The live versions of the song are studio-quality and since Kraftwerk plays everything post-Autobahn live then this functions as a "best-of". For longtime fans, this is great because it includes newer tracks from the Tour de France Soundtracks and great renditions of their older tunes.

5 out of 5 stars Kraftwerk are still the masters of this genre.......2007-02-26

I have a voracious appetite for electronic music old and new, and I have to say this album proves to me that, at the end of the day, Kraftwerk are still the masters of the genre. I don't normally like live recordings all that much, particularly among electronic music, but this one was incredibly well done. The sound quality and mixing are top notch, and listening to it I really almost feel like I am part of those audiences in Moscow, Riga, and Warsaw. The majority of the recordings are from shows in Eastern Europe, which is just a perfect fit. The real standout with this album for me is that my favorite songs on it are some of the titles that I didn't give a great deal of attention to on the old studio albums. It balances the familiar sound of old with some superb new elaborations. If you're a Kraftwerk fan then you owe it to yourself to add this to your collection. You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars It's More Fun To Compute.......2006-11-20

Though studio technology has caught up with the creativity of Kraftwerk, the double-live CD from the 2004 tour aptly shows the group can still pack a punch before an audience.

The first set is interesting for the updated versions of the classics The Man-Machine, Tour De France and Autobahn. But it is when Neon Lights ends that CD and the second disk kicks off with Radioactivity that the band's legendary influence in dance-music is captured.

From Radioactivity to the flow from final three cuts - Elektro-Kardiogramm, Aero Dynamik and Music Non Stop - Kraftwerk is in an absolute groove which could easily play for another hour. Also, the lyrics of Compuer World are as timely (urgent?) now than when they first appeared in the classic studio album by the same name in 1981.

The first official live release after the band first performed about 35 years ago, Kraftwerk shows that the electronic revolution they set forth in the music industry is as much about technique and style as it is about the components and gadgets.

5 out of 5 stars Fun! Fun! Fun!.......2006-07-29

This live set is very impressive. The sound is excellent. When I put it on, it just makes me feel relaxed and really good. It's a thrill to hear such enthusiastic crowds cheering on this strange, bubbling, mechanical music. Some people claim Kraftwerk is old hat, but I say it's too unique to sound dated. I've never been one to care much about how current or fashionable music is anyway. In these live settings, Kraftwerk augments these songs and makes them sound fresh.

This album is just awesome. Featuring last opening (what's up, people!!) and ending (Zetsubo Billy) from Death Note, powerful songs like "Koi no mega raba" and funny stuff like "Chu Chu Lovely Mun.." track 11, it's just one of the best j-rock album I've ever heard ^_^'

The Evil Genius Lends A Hand To LP's Emcee DJ Green Lantern invades the mixtape game with Fort Minor on this major motion mixtape. With an album due out at the end of '05 (executive produced by Jay-Z), this is the official mixtape beforehand.

5 out of 5 stars better than Rising Tide.......2007-02-04

I loved Rising Tide. but after playing it for a few days, I grew quite tired of it. and after listening to the Mixtape, I realized what I was missing. The Mixtape is absolutely worth listening, it is like no other remix out there. I mean, Jimi Hendrix remix? hell yes! My favorite is the Bloc Part ft. Apathy and Styles of Beyond. and including Lupe Fiasco just made this mixtape all the more enjoyable. GET THIS

5 out of 5 stars Fort Minor: We Major (Official Mixtape).......2006-05-31

Wow. Now let me repeat myself. Wow.
    This is a Mixtape Masterpiece.
Now first off, I'd just like to point out that this Mixtape, is in fact legal.
Not like most Mixtapes that are actually illegal.

Second of all, I'd like to mention that, like most all Mixtapes, this Mixtape only contains "Explicit Content", and yet does not contain a "Parental Advisory" sticker.

Thirdly, I'd also like to mention that Mike Shinoda himself (aka Fort Minor) has said that anyone who wants to, may download this Mixtape for free off of the internet, and he (Mike Shinoda) actually debuted the Mixtape for free download on the internet, before it was ever even released in CD format, on a well hidden MySpace page.
So after you've purchased the Mixtape CD, feel free to make copies of it, and give it to friends, but please encourage them to also buy a copy, so as to support M. Shinoda (aka Fort Minor), along with getting a copy or two of "The Rising Tied".

And fourth, I'll give you the complete tracklisting.

Oh, and one last piece of advice: Buy It!

    5 out of 5 stars Dope.......2006-04-18

This is the best mixtape I've ever heard. I'm not really into the mixtape scene, primarily because most of them recycle the same beats too much for me, but this one is way different. Fort Minor got creative with this one.

The production on this mixtape is off the charts. It makes the cd. Shinoda kills this mixtape production wise, and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite producers in the game. This cd contains some innovative sampling from bands you wouldn't expect to hear on a hip hop mixtape including: Guns N Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Rush, and Bloc Party; and some of the beats on here will amaze you.

Shinoda is not the most gifted emcee, but he is capable of holding his own on the mic. Apathy and Lupe Fiasco spit some fire on this cd though. Styles of Beyond and Celph Titled have their moments on the mic as well. There is even surprise guest appearance by Juelez Santana on here, who spits a hot verse also.

The official cd Fort Minor put out-"The Rising Tied" used to get a lot of air time in my whip, but this mixtape has pretty much replaced it in my cd rotation. One of my boys told me "DUDE, You GOTTA burn this cd for me" after hearing three songs on it. Fort Minor: We Major is an underground gem.

Here is a quick summary of this review--You want to own this cd. The End.

These CDMaximums(made in Russia) are getting more scare by the day, and it's no wonder. The commies have discovered 2 things: capitalism and wacked out music that I don't listen to and can't hum.

The company has decided not to print these anymore, so that's all folks. They don't answer e-mails, nor will they sell them anywhere near the USA. Cd's that have been sold are gone forever, as they will not print anymore of these crisp recordings, unless they get a firm order for 1,000 or more.

You'll also note that these two Beatle albums are not even available unless you purchase the Capitol Version (Vol.1) and even then you won't get the 11 bonus tracks.

I can't believe these are still unsold!!

4 out of 5 stars russian limited edition.......2007-02-13

despite a lack of reply from EMI London regards the status/legality of this item upon receipt it is good to have the first and second short (half-hour)albums on 1 cd. although mono as originally released both are excellent reproduction and value for money. I still am at a loss to understand why EMI in the UK have not released these early albums of the Beatles as Twofers. Beatles for sale/Rubber Soul is also availiable in this limited series, my recommendation is buy.buy.buy. with the exception of Hard Days Night and HELP which have the soundtrack instrumentals and are non essential. my advice to any fan is buy one/two or all these russian LE especially at current prices THE WHITE ALBUM I bought for 34$ IS NOW BEING SOLD FOR 140$ a sign surely of value for money

5 out of 5 stars I Guess You Have to be a Purist - or Had to Have Been There!.......2007-01-17

I prefer the mono tracks to the re-mastered tracks. Of course, I prefer cars that were built in the 1960's over those made in the 21st century. So I guess it all depends where your head space is. I'll take the old mono tracks and enjoy them for the memories they bring back. If I want to listen to remastered tracks, all I need do is to ride an elevator or turn on the old FM radio. But for an AM blast from the past, I'll take the mono version. This wasn't bad at all, especially for the price.

    2 out of 5 stars NOT STEREO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-12-17

with the beatle u.s. capitol versions coming out in stereo, i'm still not happy with the tracks on "the beatles second album" because of all of the reverb that particular album was smotherd in. never made any sense to me. if this cd was in stereo i could hear full stereo mixes of "money","you really got a hold on me", "roll over beethoven" etc... without having to resort to my old worn, noisy britsh stereo lp's. WHAT A LET DOWN! the two albums are the same mono as the origanal '87 emi versions!!!!!!! before i bought i emailed the seller to check and all he could tell me that the packaging is marked stereo and if i was'nt happy he would try to resolve my situation. i can't say the sound is any better than the originals . as far as the bonus tracks "johnny be goode" sounds like the same version as "live at the bbc"."mailman bring me no more blues" is the same as 'ANTHOLOGY 3".the others have turned up on various bootlegs over the years,"twelve bar original" clocking at 6:42.the product looks excellent. if it is truly a limited edition collectable i just might keep it "cuz it looks so darn purty"

4 out of 5 stars Not Exactly Innovative....But Who Cares?.......2007-07-17

SFU's "Maximum Violence" is not exactly ground-breaking music by anyone's standards. As far as death metal goes, it is pretty much the garden vaariety servings that other bands dish up. However, it is brutal, it is low growly, and SFU are good at what they do: garden variety death metal that sounds good.

The title pretty much says it all: violence. If violence isn't your thing, steer clear of this one. For those who are into a good shocker, this is excellent material starting right from the first track. Hacking and slashing soak this CD in musical blood, so to speak.

The music is punchy, with some excellent chords and guitar work. The rhythms worked well, while not being overdone to hell. The vocals are, without doubt, excellent.

Overall, this is a good CD for the death metal fan who just wants some good, simple music to zone out to. Innovative it isn't, but I really didn't mind too much.

4 out of 5 stars The Peak of Their Career.......2006-08-16

I can see how Six Feet Under tends to be a band that is usually ignored by many. Anything released after this album is pretty generic and redundant. However, I really dig the band's first three albums, especially this one, "Maximum Violence".

The thing I like about this album is that it is an album that throws in catchy riffs, basically because Obituary's guitarist is in there. Chris Barnes (you all know what he does) is mediocre for a vocalist. There's worse out there, believe me. The groove on "Feasting of the Blood of the Insane" is pretty catchy if you ask me.

If you want a death metal album with a groove twist to it, I recommend this.

2 out of 5 stars Was a fan, not now.......2006-03-16

I have three of their albums, but I dont listen to them much anymore...I cant stand the vocals and there isnt much thought to the music

DEATH METAL NEEDS AMPLE SOLO WORK!

5 out of 5 stars People like to toss their opinions about as though they are fact........2006-02-04

I think the only fact is that though George Fischer was a great replacement for Chris Barnes, one fact remains...

And this is much the same as Killswitch Engage...

The original Cannibal Corpse was better. The lyrics were better, the music was still the same great Cannibal Corpse. But you ask any CC fan what their favorite song would be, 10 to 1 it came from the day Chris Barnes was in the band doing all the writing.

Another 10 to 1 it's "Hammer Smashed Face."

Either way you look at it, the Cannibal Corpse everyone loves to hate had Barnes in it, they were darker, more disturbing. Now you just have a suitable replacement with a bit more sub-par lyrics that said "Hey look, I can be Chris Barnes, too! :D!"

Oh well, as everyone else in the world agrees, this is by far the greatest SFU you're ever gonna hear. The greatest listening experience begins when you start the cd... "Feasting on the Blood of the Insane," keeps going uphill with "No Warning Shot," and ends with the most killer song (with a crap-load of Cannibal Corpse references) "Hacked to Pieces."

Buy it, you'll love it ;).

PS. The difference between Killswitch and Cannibal Corpse is at least the vocalist is doing the writing, not the bassist. It gets under my skin when all the vocalist does is sing. Oh, another thing, whenever Fischer sings he tries to look scary and all I do is crack up laughing whenever I see it. Barnes can at least pull off an intimidating look without coming across as tacky.

    5 out of 5 stars Maximum Brutality.......2005-12-11

In 1996, when he was fired from Cannibal Corpse, Chris Barnes made his side project, Six Feet Under, his full-time responsibility, and three years later, Six Feet Under released "Maximum Violence." I am one of the many SFU fans who think this album is the band's best release, and it rivals most anything done by Cannibal Corpse. Greg Gall pummels away at his drum set, and Barnes unleashes more of his famous, guttural, Cookie Monster bellows and occasional orc-like shrieks (as in "No Warning Shot"), but, unlike some death metal, "Maximum Violence" isn't heavy just because of the vocals. In fact, the guitars usually dominate the maelstrom. Sometimes (i.e. tracks four and nine) the band opts for mid-tempo grinding and churning beats, and "War Machine" almost grooves, with a slow, stop-start rhythm. But, most of the time, guitarist Steve Swanson drives the beats, and stuffs the songs full of skull-crushing, wall shaking riffs. "Bonesaw" is very propulsive, "Victim of the Paranoid" features machine gun, cascading guitar work, and "Brainwashed" is bursting at the seams with Steve's feverish, spiteful riffing. "Maximum Violence" is simply Barnes and Co. at their brutal best, I recommend it to all death metal fans, and if you only get one SFU album, this is definitely the one to get!

This has got to be one of the best CD's I've ever heard. This is that CD that you put on when you're alone and just want to be soothed to think about things, whatever's going on in your life. This is also good if you have that special someone with you and you just want to cuddle up and relax with them.
