5 out of 5 stars 'I'm tha Cook in Hell's Kitchen, So Halloween's my Thanksgiving.'.......2007-03-24

This is the best creation Sickmade Muzzic has ever released. Granted, I haven't heard a lot of the current releases by the Sickmade Click, mainly because I dislike a few of the rappers on the label and feel they're much too soft to even be considered 'Sickmade'. Or Made Sick, as its now become. I've heard a lot though, including but not limited to Sicx's three albums, Nigga Deep with Brotha Lynch Hung, solo debut Dead 4 Life and of course this kut. All three CDs are classicx, and I own each one. I got the soundtrack and movie to the Now Eat project (also featuring Sicx, but only in the movie. yes, this sucks. Even though Now Eat advertises Sicx as featured) I've heard many of Brotha Lynch and X-Raided's records (lynch, sicx and x are the O.G. swartzaniggas (originally the Niggaz In Black). Anyway, of all the records by Sickmade I've heard, in my opinion this is the best of them (although I'm sure most would argue 'Seasons of Da Siccness'). Sicx started out rough, with old-school production by himself and relative E-Moe, Cedrick Singleton released 'Dead 4 Life' on Black Market/Manson Mind (Sicx's attempt at his own label). In its own time, this easily would have been a cult classic. Due to Black Market Drama(as usual), the album was not released immediately after recording and was sat on for quite a few years. Around the time the album was recorded(early 90's) many other classicx came in effect, including X's Psycho Active and Brotha Lynch's EP 24 Deep and Seasons. Comparing this album to the other hardcore releases set Sicx far from normal. Of course, most Siccmade artists are definitely far from the norm. Sicx got his reputation and credibility for the horror stories he rapped and no one doubted him for a second.
Fast forward to February 1999. Siccmade had finally got their start in the business, working with acts such as Loki(a so-so white rapper from Sacramento whose now moved onto running he and X-Raided's label Bloc*Star), Brotha Lynch's woman Zagg, Fig Nay and his brothers Sicx and Tall Cann G. Sickmade released Sicx's second effort, If These Walls Could Talk. With production by Brotha Lynch Hung, Art Battle and Sicx, with a handful by Fingatips, the beats are impeccable and addicting. Every single beat on the album smashes. It's not too different from the normal formula Lynch uses, but yet it stands on its own when compared to other albums production(definitely better then Dead 4 Life). Sicx got to bust to wicked beats and the instrumentals were sickly unique. From the slower beats of 'On One(featuring Loki and d-dubb)'and 'Killing Fields'(originally meant for the 'Head Drama: The Concoction' mixtape) to the pounding bass of 'Not Cho Average', all the songs on the album perfectly mold together(aside from Killing Fields).
Lyrically, this album is harder then anything Loki, Zagg, COS, or anybody could even dream of writing. I would have to say for sure that Brotha Lynch and Sicx have the illest lyrics that you'll hear out of Sacramento. Sicx paints dark pictures, covering topics from sherm-smoking and 40-swiggin' to rape(which later on would become fact not fiction, unfortunately). Most people don't understand Sicx because he and his music are truly Sick to the core. That's exactly why I love it. It's not specific to one style, either. It's got gangsta, hardcore, horror, and shock value.
My favorite track is 'Razors & Alcohol' featuring the at-the-time Sickmade roster, known as the Swartzaniggas. This track features COS, Tall Cann G, Sicx, Fignaytion and production by Brotha Lynch Hung. The lyrics are what caught me, and after turning on the subwoofers, it was over. You'll have to hear it to understand. Crank up the bass and volume, crack open a 40 and rap along. Fignaytion and Sicx owned the track, although COS and Tall Cann G's first verse is almost comparable. Fignaytion is another of my favorite rappers from Sick, although he is no longer with the Swartzaniggas. Check out his album 'Naytion's Capital', featuring the man Sicx himself, the Swartzaniggaz, Skee 64 Oz. and lots of sick beats by Brotha Lynch and Phonk Beta.
Fignaytion also makes an appearance on 'Basket Case', my second favorite track. The song begins with Fig on the mic, and with 'Tombstones on my mind', Fig delivers a hard verse. His voice is more unique than the other artists on Sick. He blends well with the tracks he's done with Sicx. I would have loved to hear an album from them. Hell, I would love to hear another album from Sicx. Who knows when this will be, as Sicx is currently incarcerated for 32+ years. His supposed-to-be 4th album, 3rd solo, is/was titled 'Deer Hunter', but probably will never see the light of day.
Another confusing tid-bit is, on the back of the cover, at the bottom in maroon-colored letters, lists 'Blood Drop' as an outro but is nowhere to be heard.
Sicx doesn't "talk" the "talk" like almost every rapper out there right now. Which is why hes been in and out of jail since he was a teenager and has a record of mentally-disturbing behavior. Buy this album, its definitely worth it. I bought two and gave one to a homie. Check 'Nigga Deep' and 'Dead 4 Life' if you feel this album. I own all three, and they're excellent. I bump them daily. A tweed session isn't complete without the kick-back tracks 'Marination(featuring d-dubb)' or 'The Unholy' in the background. 66 Point 6 On Yo FM Dial.

4 out of 5 stars Only Review You Need.. (again).......2005-12-27

This is the only review you need. Why? Cuz I'm up on game. All these other people don't know anything about Sicx or SaCtown rap or California in general. How do I describe Sicx? Well, He was one of the best rappers out of Sacramento. His debut CD "Dead 4 Life" is hard, but his second album, "If Theze Wallz Could Tak" is even better. Sicx was a troubled individual, half white and half black, raised in the streets of Sacramento as a gang member, just like many others with low income families and a lack of identity. Sicx got in tight with other known Sacramento rappers, namely Brotha Lynch and X-Raided, and the Schwarzanigga clicc (COS, Tallcan, etc).

Basically this young locc was one of the best rappers out of Sacramento and possibly one of the best in California. Unfortunately, he never got any fame or glory, much like many of the best rappers in California. Instead, he developed beef with Mr. Doctor (the tightest in Sactown rap), and eventually got caught up in a heavy court case where he was convicted, and sentenced. I won't tell you the details of the case because it will take away from the power of his raps.

In conclusion, If These Walls Could Talk is one of the darkest, best produced, most banging rap CDs that you couuld ever own. The sicc mind of Sicx is something that cannot be duplicated by any other wannabe-siccmade rappers out there. This cat could flow, and with the best. Unfortunately he was REAL, which means that everything he rapped about, he actually did. So it was bound to catch up with him..

Let's fire one up for Sicx and celebrate this CD by purchasing it, even though he might never see a dollar in profit now that he is locked down in the pen. Many say that Sicx is now "persona non grata", an unwelcome person in their book. His crimes will probably validate this claim. However, as far as rap goes, not many CDs can rival this one, and I am proud to have it in my collection.

Deuce.

5 out of 5 stars Sicx twisted follow up to Dead 4 Life........2005-06-27

If these Walls..has to be one of the most twisted albums I had ever heard. Sicx must have some experince in this field
because the music is that disturbing. The twisted lyrics and dark music is augmented by sound bites from Hellraiser 3.
If you like sick and twisted horrorcore (miles different from so called "gangsta rap" then grab a copy of the disc. Plesant dreams.

Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars This album is TIGHT.......2004-11-29

Sicx's "If These Walls Could Talk" is an AWESOME disc; too good to be put into words. The tracks on this cd are very dark-sounding (not like his first album, "Dead 4 Life") and, of course, his subject matter is just as dark. This is definately not something you bump at a party for the ladies, rather, I suggest you listen to it alone, at night and in a dark room sippin' on a forty of Olde English. In my personal opinion, Sicx's duet with Loki on the track "On One" is phenomenal and captures so much emotion, the type of emotion that I know we all experienced before. All in all, a masterpiece.

RED HOT + COUNTRY is the fourth album in the very successful RED HOT series of genre-specific recordings benefiting AIDS Awareness. This time it's country music's turn, and under the guidance of Kathy Mattea, numerous contemporary Nashville superstars chose a song or a style representing an influence on their own artistry. For the most part they chose songs of hope and healing. From the opening "Teach Your Children" featuring Mattea, Suzy Bogguss, Alison Krauss, and Crosby Stills & Nash to the closing Carter Family tune, "Keep On The Sunnyside," featuring bluegrass greats Earl Scruggs and Doc Watson, the entire album offers a ray of light in these fearful times.

bit late, but here it is. The song on the jukebox at the bar is "I'd Love You To Want Me" by Lobo. Don't look here for it on this CD, try his Greatest Hits albums.

3 out of 5 stars An ok soundtrack.......2003-01-04

I enjoyed about five of the songs on the soundtrack. I was kinda disapointed though because there were a few songs that weren't on the CD that I really liked. So for those of you who are wondering the titles of the songs that weren't on the soundtrack, here are the titles and the artists: "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers, I'd Love You to Want Me" By Lobo,(Both in the 1972 segment)and "This Will be(An Everlasting Love)by Natalie Cole.
