Crime Mob Return Solid With This One..............2007-04-29

Despite a three-year absence and diminished membership, Crime Mob returned fairly unchanged on their second album, Hated on Mostly. Their crunk style of rap remains chiefly indebted to Three 6 Mafia and is highlighted by some potent productions, most of them credited to group member Lil Jay. "Rock Yo Hips" is the clear-cut single, tailor-made for club play and boasting a Lil Scrappy feature. "Circles" is the other standout, mostly because it's a change of pace -- relatively downtempo and sullen, built around an old soul sample ("Going in Circle" by the Friends of Distinction). There are a few other strong songs here, such as the title track and "2nd Look," both of which are rabble-rousing, if overly typical. What makes Crime Mob atypical, above all, is the group's pair of female rappers, Diamond and Princess. These young ladies are not only skilled rappers, but they're charismatic and good-looking. They distinguish Crime Mob from the group's innumerable, almost exclusively male contemporaries. Beyond the potent productions, handful of standout songs, and pair of female rappers, Hated on Mostly is all that interesting. It's a more mature and commercial album than the group's self-titled 2004 debut, certainly, but it still leaves plenty of room for growth to bump to.

Hate on.......2007-04-06

This cd is by far the hardest hitting album of the year. Crime mob has talented producers and a great crew led by two female rappers that go off on this cd, its crazy. The beats are fantastic and there are about 5 to 6 songs on this track that will blow your mind away. Such as 2nd look, rock yo hips, shine cuz I grind, circles, we some playaz and wuz-up. All of these songs will make you throw your hands up and get crunk wit it in your car or wherever you are. If you like hard lyrics and throwed beats then you deffinetly need to get this album.

My review.......2007-04-05

Im really feelng this cd on the real. I have not heard their whole first cd, so I cant compare it to that one (even though I probably have heard it without knowing as much as they played crime mob in the clubs, friends cars, etc.). I NOT BIG MUSIC LYRIC lover, because if I was, I would have rated it lower, but since Im not, this joint is Hot as hell. Definity a car CD to show off your speakers. ROCK YA HIPS track and VIDEO is BANGING (should have had some Alphas, but they were right with the QUE doggs LOL). I think the next Music Video should be Circles (my favorite track), because I dont remember them having a "slow song" video and it gives an oppurntinity for storyline (which I dont think they ever had any of their videos either). That is one of the few tracks that was saying something, and you can follow like a movie or story. They were wise for the first video to be ROCK YA HIPS. I was definity feeling theme. (even though I think the only time they probably been on a campus was working in the dining halls lol). The tracks do start to blend together half way through, but I think Rock ya hips (the premerie track) and Circles (the slow track) saved the cd. For me, its hard trying to concentrate on the lyrics because I will neglect the music. Over all if you dont want to think too hard, or if you like beats, or just that dirty south sound, this is the cd for you. ITs definity not a Kanya West, Nas, or Mos Def when it comes to lyrics (but what dirty south CD is now a days). This cd will make you put it on repeat a few times. Then after that, you will automatically start to hear lyrics (thats what I happened to me anyway) LOL

Excellent Album.......2007-04-01

This album is good you have to listen to it for a few times, and see where crime mob is coming from but Circles is a amazing track the production is amazing, and dymond and princess really do shine on the track. The other good track's are Go to War 2nd look, and Wuz up and a great 2nd single is Shine Cause I grind.

It's Okay...Just Okay.......2007-03-30

The second album from Crime Mob has no memerable moments on the album but it definitely has some crunk to it. The lead single "Rock Yo Hips" is a decent track but nothing here seems to top their most known single "Knuck If You Buck" but its a decent single and the video is alright. The female emcee's Diamond and Princess standout more on the album than the guys on "2nd Look", and on "Circles". It's not a horrible album but its not the best. The two females should go solo maybe they'll sell more.
