If only more Christian music was this powerful..........2007-06-10

Too much Christian music today is fluff. This album is anything but that. Keith Green wrote some remarkable songs that encourage Christians to wake up and act like what they say they are.

In addition to powerful lyrics, this album has some great music played by Bill Maxwell, Abraham Laboriel, Keith Green himself, and others.

Few albums have made the impact of this classic. In it Mr. Green brings his incredible talent to bear down on every Christian's tendency to let his love grow cold. God will have none of that. Mr. Green calls us to wake up with "Asleep in the Light" and "To Obey is Better than Sacrifice." He brings us to rousing, foot-stomping, dancing worship with "Stained Glass" and "The Victor." There is not a dry-eyed track or a week song in this album - every one of them is a classic. That can be said of few albums, Christian or otherwise. This album is destined to remain on the list of most influencial Christian albums for years to come.

Keith Green Classic Album.......2006-10-07

This is one of those albums I have heard since I was a child. The songs sound like home and Keith Green is at the top of his game. The songs represent the Christian walk and faith without compromise. Keith Green didn't write music to sugarcoat faith. Songs like "Alter Call," Soften Your Heart," and "My Eyes Are Dry" were about what we face everyday and what organized religion often overlooks.

I have always believe that Ben Folds reminds me of Keith Green. No where is this more evident than in the quirky "Dear John Letter (To the Devil)." Green gave everything he had on every song and this album stands the test of time. Keith Green's death in the early 80's was a blow for Christian music, but his work lives on.

One of the best Spirit-filled HxCx records ever!.......2004-08-09

This record is amazing! Even though the mix is mediocre, the album is intense and passionate. NIV is one of the greatest HxCx bands of all time and this CD demonstrates that with a powerful line up of songs. "Let Down" and "Undone" are some of the stand out tracks. Jason Moody's bellowing howl will stomp in your brain cavity as song after song tears through your ears like a runaway train. A true gem!

This is the good hard core music to listen to. It is a little more punky than the newest Flesh and blood, but still has the hard,heavy break downs and intence sing alongs, highly recomended!

I already liked this good guitar player and vocal bluesman MICK CLARKE when he founded the fantastic group KILLING FLOOR in 1968, the year of the incredible LED ZEPPELIN's birth. He played with the great Blues pianist LOU MARTIN and the drummer ROD DE'ath (by the way, this two great musicians later joined the extraordinary RORY GALLAGHER for a period of six years).The group KF split up and MICK, at the beginnings of a worldwide Blues revival in the first 80's, founded THE MICK CLARKE BAND and got a big success, mainly in Europe. In some way, this group has always lived under the shadow of groups like Savoy Brown (Kim Simmonds), Fleetwood Mc. (Peter Green), Rory Gallagher or John Mayall, but it has his own style and in this record produces some really good Blues-Rock music (though there are moments at which it feels a little repetitive). It features the great LOU MARTIN at the keyboards and a good harmonica job by"DANGEROUS" DAVE NEWMAN. All the songs are good. Nostalgic people can find a good instrumental version of "Cry to me" (both The Rolling Stones and The Pretty Things made marvellous versions of it in the 60's), the classic Blues "That's all right" , and the good instrumental songs "No crease", "Celebration" and the Blues-rock "Produce row". My evaluation is 3,5 starts.

As these 11 tracks illustrate, good music doesn't have to be popular. Unger uses his vast experience with the human psyche to write sensitive lyrics. His disciplined guitar work and respectable arrangement make this album easy to listen to and hard not to like. Refreshing, diverse, and well-produced.
