This album was excellent in every way.I use to just sit and listen to this in amazement. Her voice, her runs, writing skills, she was not to be messed with.I still love Faith,I just wish she would do another album like this one.

5 out of 5 stars Faith comes correct on her BadBoy Records debut................2007-02-13

Faith, Biggie and Badboy Records owned hiphop in 95. It was inevitable that they were gonna collide with Death Row because Puff and his artists were on a mission. Faith delivers some of the sexiest vocals ever on this joint!

5 out of 5 stars Classic album, has to be in your collection.......2007-01-22

I love this album. I was 12 years old, soon to be 13 when Faith dropped her debut album. I can honestly say that when I first heard it, I fell in love with her voice. She has a God given talent, and not many singers out there can sing like she can. I have to replace this cd, because my favorite song, Soon as I get Home, is scratched up. I hate that: having scratched up cds, lol. For all of you out there that don't have this album, please believe me when I say buy it. You won't be disappointed, and by the way, Valentines Day is coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Takes me back to when R&B was good.......2007-01-10

Faith Evans, 1995 debut Faith was released in the fall of my eigth grade year. I remeber the first time I heard Soon As I Get Home and instantley liked this song. The Aaron Hall featured remix was even better, the other single from the disc You Used To Love Me was a classy chilled out number. Evans builds on a basic, hip-hop-influenced funk, alternating between simmering grooves and sultry ballads making the album is a first-class debut.

5 out of 5 stars Faith Evans - Faith.......2007-01-10

This for me has to be one of my favorites for 1995. In my opinion this is the best album by Faith Evans. When I first got the album I just got it for a few songs, then I found myself taking time to listen to the other songs on the album, and I found myself liking each song on the album. As you know most the time when you buy an album you usually get it for the single(s), but with this album I feel a lot of the filler songs should have been singles also. If you take time to listen to a lot of the songs you'll see that unlike most artists out now, Faith Evans can actually sing, and that she's really talented. Whenever I hear this album it keeps me longing for many 90s artists to come back, because a lot of these people out now don't really know what there doing, I liked a lot of the music from the 90s because the beats were simple but still good, and if you had talent, you had talent, meaning it wasn't easy to get away with not being able to sing well. But now as many of you know it's "Image over talent."

Tracks*

No Other Love - 9/10 *She has real good vocal range in this one

Fallin' In Love - 10/10 *in a way I sort of felt this should have been a single

Ain't Nobody - 10/10 *I love this single, it reminds me of the goods days of music

Love Don't Live Here Anymore - 8/10 *I thought was a pretty good remake

Come Over - 9/10 *another good one!

Soon As I Get Home - 10/10 *this is the one that first made me want to buy the album; the remix with Aaron Hall is real good also.

All This Love - 10/10 *this was real good for a non single

You Used To Love Me - 10/10 *this was another single that made me want to buy the album;

Give It To Me - 10/10 *I Love this song!

You Don't Understand - 10/10 *this is a real good song also

Don't Be Afraid - 10/10 *I first heard this when watching an episode of The Wayans bros. from 1995, and I've loved it since!

Reasons - 10/10 *this should have been a single also, at least that's how I felt

As you can see this is a good album if you're a fan of 90s music, but if your into this music out now you might not like it.

On his debut album, Carl Thomas offers more of the well-sung, romantic R&B that never seems to fall out of favor. Unfortunately, while the Puffy Combs-executive-produced Emotional is perhaps a must-own for diehard fans of the genre, it seems less than inspired when compared with, say, Brian McKnight's state-of-the-art Back at One. All the elements are in place here--a guest shot by Kelly Price on "Giving You All My Love," a Stevie Wonder sample on "Summer Rain"--but for all its intended late-night aphrodisiacal potential, the music sounds flat in the bright light of day. The hilariously mumbled come-on interlude "Cadillac Rap," though, does hint at what Thomas might be capable of if he dared to buck the formula. --Rickey Wright

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Wonderful Album.......2007-04-16

This is a great album to have. Carl Thomas is great in show, he really pours his heart into the music. He is so theatrical in his movements and has great annuciation. My favorite song on the album is "Cold, Cold World" you feel the hurt and emotion in the chorus as Carl pleads, "It's a cold, cold, cold world leaving here without in my life." This album is must have for all true music lovers. Carl incorporates an ol'skool, groovy type feel to the music esp. with "Emotional" ,"Valentine" and"Woke Up This Morning". His soulful style is somewhat reminiscent of an Al Green or Curtis Mayfield. Carl Thomas does not receive as much gratification as he is deserved.

5 out of 5 stars Akinola2.......2007-04-03

Carl Thomas has definately got it going on when it comes the the old school, fresh sound of R&B. This CD is a must have if you are a true quality music fan. Most of the songs are slow and this is a CD that will be appreciated by the older, more mature crowd. Most of the songs are original and you can play this one all they way through without skipping tracks. I will be truly happy when this talented singer releases some new material. This is excellent late night, cuddle up with your boo music.

5 out of 5 stars This is a MUST have for your R&B collection..........2007-01-19

This is definitely a timeless cd. It's been years since it's release and I still have it in heavy rotation in my personal collection. This is one of the few cds that you can listen to the whole way through. Carl has a phenominal voice!!! Emotional is a great cd for both the ladies and the fellas who truely love R&B... this has a lot of "slow jams" on it. Some of my personal favorites are 1. All my Love 2. Special Lady 3. Cold, Cold World. I'm sure you'll love this cd just like me!!!

5 out of 5 stars Carl Thomas Emotional.......2006-11-10

The Emonitonal CD by Carl Thomas is one of his best. I hope soon we would get great music from CT again.

5 out of 5 stars Classic R & B from Carl Thomas & Bad Boy Records.....................2006-09-23

Still in my cd rotation 6 years later. This one of those cds that you through in on a lazy rainy day when you're chilling with your girl. Carl delivers with bangers such as Emotional, I Wish, Lady Lay, Summer Rain, and much more.

Danity Kane's concept isn't revolutionary--bind five gorgeous, vocally gifted girls together at the hip and the world is bound to take notice--but its role as a reality TV band is: Here, finally, is the reason to stop raking contestants over the coals and accept that the tube can spawn some seriously hot music. Whether they're a Making the Band fluke or a solid indication that the TV talent pool is deepening season by season is anybody's guess, but there's no denying these ladies, hand-plucked by Diddy, pack a post-R&B sizzle roving ears won't soon tire of. With a vibe more En Vogue than Destiny's Child--spot-on harmonizing, synchronized vocal tumbles, the occasional righteous yelp--they strut their way through 14 solid tracks, some whispery ("Ooh Ahh," "Stay With Me"), some noisy ("Back Up"), all sexy. Club cut "Show Stopper" featuring fellow Bad Boy artist Yung Joc is the disc's first single and breakout track, but look for another song, "Heartbreaker," to outlast it: with its languid acoustic guitar and midsong break, it casts a booty-swiveling, body-rocking spell. --Tammy La Gorce

Album Description

Making the Band is back for Season 3, and you better believe the drama runs deep. This album is the music hard work of five girls handpicked by Sean "Diddy" Combs for his all-new pop group which was recorded while they were living together in a luxury Soho loft and prepared to go on tour.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Definite Show Stoppers.......2007-07-20

This was a great debut for DK. The songs are all really good. The girls blended vocals quite well and the lyrics were well written. The beats and production also compliment the album quite nicely. The content is relatable and while it consists of common topics, they are done in a refreshing way. The album has something for everyone to enjoy and I think its one of Diddy's best projects in a while. Hot Tracks: Show Stopper, Hold Me Down, Ride 4 You

3 out of 5 stars 3-1/2 stars -- Good album, but they should really consider switching labels.......2007-04-20

I remember sometime last summer I was watching MTV Hits, and they were literally playing anything Danity Kane-related nonstop all one weekend: they had the girls in the studio, "Show Stopper" was being showcased continuously, and the ladies were even counting down their favorite videos. So it's no surprise that I got sick of them pretty quickly. But I finally listened to their self-titled album and I found that it's better than most albums from "manufactured" groups.

If people don't understand why I say they should switch labels, I attribute it to past experience. The ladies said in interviews that they are so glad to be on Bad Boy. But I'm been looking at Bad Boy's track record for the past few years, and what being on that label seems to mean NOW is that Diddy will release two songs from your album and then forget about you. Case in point: Dream, New Edition, 8Ball & MJG, Mase (think Welcome Back era), B5, Da Band...should I go on?

Anyway, since these five ladies were brought together on Making the Band, some people might want to easily write them off as some manufactured no-talents, but that's actually far from the case. While I'm not sure what "Danity Kane" is supposed to mean, and I agree with the other reviewers when they said that Aundrea is the best singer (and she's definitely a sight for sore eyes), the group as a whole still produce some good songs. I'm starting to like "Show Stopper" more than I used to (even though I'm not a big fan of Yung Joc), but there are better songs than that, like "One Shot".

But the album's best moments are when the ladies slow things down, like "Ride For You", "Right Now" and especially "Stay With Me". Still, there are a few times when the songs feel disposable, like "Back Up". "Heartbreaker" seems to contradict itself, and the hidden track "Sleep On It" will make you want to do just that. But Danity Kane do prove that the era of good R&B singing groups isn't dead, so pick it up.

5 out of 5 stars They really ARE Showstoppers........2007-04-02

This album is brilliant.
I can listen to it without skipping any songs.
These girls are so talented.
Too bad their management sucks!
Its been months and they still haven't released a new single.
EVERY song has potential to be a single.
Danity Kane, just wow.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointment.......2007-03-28

The two stars i gave this album was only because I like the song Show Stopper so much. I thought the rest of the album would be similar. It is like a sad drawn out drama. It is horrible would not reccommend to anyone. Get the single

5 out of 5 stars ~Ride For You~.......2007-03-24

When I first bought this CD it was just for the song "Ride For You"...B/c I am in love with that song.. I saw Making The Band 3 and of course I knew they'd have a few good hits but, I didn't know the whole CD was going to flow like this!!!...I'm definitely a fan and I hope to hear more from Danity Kane!

112 would be just another quartet of smooth crooners if it weren't for the simple fact that their Bad Boy brand of R&B funk is so damn irresistible. "Love Me" opens with the directive, "Do that Puff Daddy shit, son!" and indeed you can pick up the Puffy one's fingerprints all over Room 112--Mase cameos on "Love Me," and Lil' Kim shows up on the slamming "The Only One," a surefire dance-floor hit with an infectious bass line reminiscent of the Bad Boy "Only You" remix. The ballads are as wrinkle-free as expected, but "Your Letter" is poignant. Check into Room 112, and you won't want to leave. --Rebecca Wallwork

3 out of 5 stars Room For Growth & Improvement Is More Like It and Eventually Proven.......2007-04-26

Room 112 was a good album, but a lil' bit off the mark of their debut. 112's essence and sound did come out in this album, just not as strong, but I wasn't disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars One-One-Duece on the Loose!.......2006-04-23

This album wasn't as great as their first, but it's still good. Although Diddy exec-produced the album, I was glad to know that 112 does most of the writing and some producing also. There were plenty of mellow songs of course, but most were kind of Blah. All of the interludes are tight and left me wanting more, especially "You Are the Only One"! My other favorite tracks are:

#5 - The Only One (A nice beat w/ Lil' Kim rhyming--can't go wrong)

#8 - Love You Like I Did (Daron & Slim to'-it-up!!!)

#13 - Crazy Over You (Makes you wanna fall madly in love)

#19 - Your Letter (My heart bled for Slim on this one)

5 out of 5 stars Room 112.......2005-10-08

I remember this album when I was in the 6th grade. It was da bomb!! I love this album! This album is a dynamic collection spanning the complete gamut of contemporary R&B. It also relies on a fool proof formula of great songs and vocals to make it's point, ranging from ballads that tug the heartstrings to out and dance floor anthems. This album is like a dose of soulful salvation. This album also reflects the considerable maturation the group has undergone. This album has been certified 2x Platinum. Remember, this was 1998-1999.

4 out of 5 stars Every Bad Boy Needs A Bad Girl.......2007-02-24

The group Total came out when Bad Boy was on top and they really stoodout for a while. On their debut, this album was pretty solid although they didn't have the best voices the choice of songs showcased their vocals well. Pam had that distinct voice that you knew a Total song when you heard it. Keisha was the savvy one, and Kima had a baby voice. Anyway the best tracks on the album are "Don't Ever Change", "Kissin' You", "No One Else",and "Spend Some Time". There really aren't any filler tracks so if you haven't already should definitely check out these "former" Bad Girls.

5 out of 5 stars Top tunes.......2006-12-22

I've had this since it came out in 96, i used to play it in the clubs then, and people still borrow it to play in the clubs now..... that speaks for itself!!!

3 out of 5 stars Total - actually 3.5 stars.......2006-10-01

I listened to this disc for the first time in a while and was again surprised at how good a debut this is. This album debuted at a golden time for Bad Boy Records and the tone and brash attitude of the trio instantly distinguished them from the other r&b girl groups of that era. The monster hit off of the disc is CAN'T YOU SEE which still sounds great years later.

The second huge single, KISSIN YOU is such a sweetly groovin' ballad and showed that the group wasn't only going to be the background vocalists for Bad Boy's rappers.

Other standout singles to me are: NO ONE ELSE, TELL ME, LOVE IS ALL WE NEED & DON'T EVER CHANGE. Although the producers used a fair amount of samples, like on Mary J. Blige's MY LIFE, they were used in a fresh way which created a new sound for a new group.

I'd recommend this disc to anyone who's curious about not only early Bad Boy artists but also how this group sounded in comparison to some of the other r&b girl groups out at that time.

5 out of 5 stars Now That's A Helluva Debut.......2007-04-26

112 burst onto the scene strong in 1996 with their self-titled debut CD, which features some awesome love songs such as "This Is Your Day", "Can I Touch You", and their biggest love song off this album "Cupid". With that, and both versions of "Only You" with and without Mase, it's definitely a must-have.

5 out of 5 stars Go back to where it started..........2006-11-10

Yes, I wish that 112 could resurrect that formula that they used to create this album. This was just beautiful beautiful. It's one of those rare albums that one can just put in the deck and just let it play. Their second and third albums had some really good songs on them but they lost me after the fourth album. Still, I hope that they can get back on that groove so they can turn out at least one more impressive album before the gravy train pulls into the station.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best..........2006-08-03

Ok, the CD has been out for just about 10 years. By far the best 112 CD released, by far one of the best R&B CD's in the last decade. Put the CD in and let it play from start to finish. No recent R&B could ever compare to the stuff thats on this CD.

5 out of 5 stars music lover.......2006-08-02

This cd is 112's strongest cd. I enjoyed several tracks on this cd. I didn't care for any of their other cds at all. However I keep buying their cds hoping that they would some how get back on the track they were once on with their first cd.

If Faith Evans's self-titled debut was inexplicably entwined in the rise of the Bad Boy empire, her eagerly anticipated follow-up, Keep the Faith, has been further steeped in the history of hip-hop--before anyone heard a note. There are plenty of ballads here ("No Way" and "Lately I" being the best), and Evans doesn't hesitate to mine her emotional turmoil for lyrical material, but it's the welcome inclusion of sublime mid-tempo grooves ("Sunny Days," "Life Will Pass You By") and party jams like "All Night Long" that make this album a sure-fire classic. Forget the hype and enjoy the sound of Evans's gospel-trained voice riding the old-school beats in the addictive "Love Like This." The most interesting thing about this album is not Evans's personal trials but that despite them, her voice is still as sweet as the caramel kisses she sings about. --Rebecca Wallwork

4 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Stars... Definitely Her Best.......2007-03-16

After Biggie's death, this album really puts her emotions out there and she releases an excellent follow-up to her debut album. This is an album for someone whose going thru a situation and need someone to relate to going thru similar situations. It's a little on the dark side because there aren't many uplifting songs, but the Faith fans will not be disappointed.

Standout tracks: "My First Love", "Life Will Pass You By", "Caramel Kisses", "Never Let You Go", "Love Like This"

4 out of 5 stars Happily avoided the curse of the sophomore slump.......2007-01-10

After releasing her excllent first CD,Faith really blew up when she appeared on the tribute song for her late husband Biggie Smalls. The first two singles, the irresistible dance/R&B cut Love Like This and its follow-up, the equally intoxicating All Night Long which still make me dance or roller skate. The ballads on the CD are also a strong point including the excllent Babyface written Never Gonna Let You and the sensual 112 featured Careml Kisses. All in all a fine album that highlights nineties soul at it's best.

5 out of 5 stars This is one of my all time favorite albums..........2005-12-22

You know those albums that you can just put on and not skip a track or program your favorites or anything... Just let it play. This is one of those. Every song is at least 4 stars. My favorites:

My First Love - this song makes me cry every time... it's just beautiful. I don't know this for a fact, but I imagine that she is talking about Biggie. Just my guess.
Love Like This - a club BANGA!! The reason why I bought the album... I remember when this song came out. I was pregnant and couldn't get enough of it. LOL.
Keep The Faith - so inspirational!

Yes, this review is 7 years old, but if you have the chance, pick up this album and get some FAITH!

5 out of 5 stars Faith is excellent!.......2005-07-22

Faith Evans is someone I always overlooked when it came to purchasing R&B records. My loss. Eventually I saw the light... when at a CD store this cd was $5 used, so I decided to give her a try.
I was blown away by the depth of her voice and range she has. Faith style is similar to Kelly Price which is never a down side at all. I love when artists use their lyrics and runs to get their point across than some sexy video or beside another rapper.
I love Faith's slow jams like NO Way and Anything you need! This girl can blow! Why can't she get some more love?
My favs: Lately I, Carmel Kisses, No Way, Anything you need, and Love like this.
This album Keep the Faith is definitely an R&B classic!

While much has been made of former model Cassie's leap into the R&B ring--the vampy, MySpace-fueled first single "Me & U" topped more than a few best-of-summer lists--almost as much has been made of the wispiness of her voice. But what those who have stopped straddling the fence know is that the pillow-lipped beauty makes up for what she lacks in vocal power with an abundance of less obvious musical proficiencies: Cassie's a master of sass, a guru of guile. Hear it not only on the mildly menacing and seriously thrilling "Me & U," but also on "Long Way 2 Go," a merciless tease aimed at an amorous man who really ought to have known better. The rest of this brief disc bumps along on the greatness of its beats. Master blaster and producer Ryan Leslie (also Cassie's beau, it's rumored) strings together a minicourse on sampling as he slyly dips from old-school jazz to disco to vintage flamenco. Credit Cassie, though, for concocting a whole lotta 'tude. R&B has a whispery new minx. -Tammy La Gorce

Album Description

Everyone loves a Cinderella story. In 2006, the glass slipper belongs to Cassie, thanks to her smash debut single "Me & U". Just like the single, her debut album Cassie is infectious, seductive, and deep.

3 out of 5 stars She's got a long way to go..........2007-07-11

Cassandra Ventura apparently came out of nowhere with her single "Me&U". It just stayed in the top ten forever, and I personally couldn't figure out why because I thought the song was terrible. Now, however, I've decided that it's not a terrible song, but it's really just okay. And it's probably the best song on Cassie's self-titled debut.

The main problem with this album is what other reviewers have said: Cassie really isn't that great of a singer. That said, she REALLY shouldn't be trying to hit high notes, like in "Miss Your Touch". Another problem lies within how the album is structured: it's only 35 minutes long, and still nothing really stands out for the most part. "Call U Out" sounds like a wannabe Lil Jon production (complete with a RAP by Cassie), while "What Do U Want" is extremely Casio-friendly. The "Hope You're Behaving" interlude serves no purpose, and "Ditto" suffers from a sorry chorus: "He said he had fallen so in love with me/And I said ditto, ditto, ditto".

I read somewhere that Cassie was a model prior to this, and maybe that's the field she should stay in (because she's not bad-looking). If Cassie really wants her music career to soar past "Me&U", maybe it would be better if she had more quality material out there; I mean, there were only two singles released from this album -- oh, that's right; she's on Bad Boy!

5 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise!!!.......2007-01-19

I must admit when the first track came out and it was associated with BadBoy I didn't give it a second listen but this is the album that Janet should pay attention and take notes from if she insists on trying to go back to her 'Control' dayz....
This is a good album of songs and the fact that Cassie is not the greatest singer doesn't show here! She rides every track with ease and the beats themselves are all good! There's not one track that I would say is so bad!

For me the danger with this album is Cassie rushing another one out, she should take her time develop her voice vibe with other songwriters/producers and then comeback with a sophmore that deffinately won't be ignored!

Great first album!

2 out of 5 stars Marketing.......2007-01-10

Failure to realize that Cassie is marketed for teenage girls, rather than an adult-contemporary R&B audience will leave most buyers unpleased. Not mention the entire album was written and produced by Ryan Leslie. So after listening to the album, you won't find out who Cassie is. Instead you end up listening to Ryan Leslie marketing himself through a teenage girl.

Sadness is etched in Faith Evans's smoky vocals, an underpinning of regret and the blues that gives her a vulnerability and realness that's compelling. That hint of heartache is perfectly suited for love-lost midtempo ballads, like her 1995 hit "You Used to Love Me," and in many ways Evans (once married to the late Notorious B.I.G.) is a modern-day torch singer. Yet like Mary J. Blige, her sister in sorrow, Evans has added more uptempo rhythm to her moody mix, as evidenced by the thumping first single off her third CD. Set to a banging, West Coast-style beat, "You Gets No Love" (produced by newcomer Michelangelo Saulsberg) is club ready and playful, yet Evans's wistful tone is almost overwhelmed by the bounce. That's why the strongest songs on this satisfying CD are cuts like the lush "I Love You" and the stand-by-your-man anthem "Do Your Time," both coproduced by P. Diddy. She can sing just about anything, but when Evans lets her love light simmer, she creates a smoldering flame. --Amy Linden

5 out of 5 stars !.......2007-04-20

This is truly an excellent album. I played this CD out when it first came out and I still listen to it constantly to this day. It never gets old. Every song is absolutely flawless; even the interludes are great! The production is great. The vocals are her best yet... short and sweet, this is by far Faith's best album. Her debut had great music, but some of it was a little bland and too much the same as what Mary J. was doing at that time. (Faith did have a lot of writing and backup vocals on the My Life album, so that's probably why.) Her sophomore release was nice, but it was a bit boring and slow. Her fourth album is very good, but it can't touch this, her third album. You need to buy this! This is one of my favorite R&B albums ever.

5 out of 5 stars The album is like that! .......2007-03-28

Great job Faith! One of her best album's yet! I was very impressed!

4 out of 5 stars Great Album... But Not Properly Marketed.......2007-03-16

The third album from Faith is definitely a little lighter than her previous effort "Keep the Faith". She seems a little happier than before even though she still has some depressing tracks. Her singles that were released did fairly well but the "Burnin Up remix " with Missy and Freeway are better than the album version with Loon. "I Love You" had a steamy but tasteful video that brought that song to life and she shares writing credit with J.Lo and the song "Brand New Man" is letting a ex-trifling man that you can do better than him with someone new, "Can't Believe" with Carl Thomas is another highlight of the album. The Faith fans won't be disappointment, but Puffy should've definitely promoted her better and she probably might've still been on Bad Boy.

4 out of 5 stars Proper Thrid Album.......2007-01-10

Faith Evans thrid album in six years was very good. The album featured the up-tempo party numbers You Gets No Love and Burnin Up. The CD also features a signature ballad Faith is known for having and on this CD it's the sentimental I Love You.

5 out of 5 stars Can't get enough..........2006-01-02

This is one of the very few albums that I let ride all the way through on my CD player--this album is hot! Even the interlude fillers are enjoyable. This is by far Faith's best work and it's disappointing to know that Bad Boy (Puffy, you suck!) didn't do a better job promoting this album. This album is comparable to Mary J Blige's "Share My World" (again a HOT album). I purchased this CD because I liked the single, "You gets no love" and had been a fan of her since "Keep the Faith". I can't get enough of "Burnin' up" (though the music sounds oddly similiar to "Shake ya azz"/Mystikal. Neptunes, y'all know better! But I still LOVE LOVE LOVE you!), "I love you", "Do your time" (she laid the chorus OUT!), "Faithfully" (even Biggie can't compete with her rendition), "Where we stand" ( because, "...is it to soon to love you?"), "Heaven only knows" (which sometimes makes me sleepy), "Love can't hide" (it sounds like 14 other people are singing the parts that she sings--ole' girl gots' some mean pipes!) and "Can't believe" (the base line is fierce!). Hold it down Faith--you can't be touched.

After a period of chart dormancy, Puffy Combs's Bad Boy label made a chart comeback with teen female quartet Dream's first single, "He Loves U Not." A catty, canny update of the time-tested petal-plucking romance guide, it's also something of a red herring on It Was All a Dream, the group's debut album. Although the disc is a well-made pop-R&B showcase for the girls' technically adept voices, the four have yet to develop a sound beyond competence; Destiny's Child they're not (yet). More bite along the lines of "He Loves U Not" and less "helpless" yearning (the unconvincing "Pain," the blinder-wearing "I Don't Like Anyone") would've made this Dream feel a lot closer to reality. --Park Slope

2 out of 5 stars Unfortunate.......2007-01-18

When their first Single "He loves u not" came out, I loved it and thought for sure their album would be amazing. I bought it and was shocked, amazed and finally too bored to go on. I was shocked when I heard the cheesy and corny interludes they had, something like a Britney Spears rip off. I was amazed that ever other song on their album sounded exactly alike. They had one good song, and then they tried to make a whole album based off of that.

Don't buy this, see if you can just buy that one single.

2 out of 5 stars They Say Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover (2 stars).......2006-04-30

It's hard for me to admit, but I bought this CD for two reasons, because the girls looked hot and they can dance. Thats about it. I must had had an extra $14 or so to throw away back in 2001, because this CD is strictly pop. I don't even listen to pop music and I've heard better songs this these girls sing. The girls have no singing talent whatsoever. And to top it off, it was marketed by Bad Boy records. There was about one or two tracks I did like, but at some points it was more than I can take. Maybe it was because I listen to more hip hop than pop, thinking I could take on some other form of genre. Since they were signed under Bad Boy records, P. Diddy or someone could have thrown a few rap verses on the album, but unfortunately whatever songs that were remixed are the only songs that have those verses. Even "He Loves U Not (Remix)" featured G. Dep, but why is that version not on here? Don't worry, because these fine girls had their brief moments in the spotlight, unfortunately that was the end for them. There is a group right now called "The Pussycat Dolls" that are going to be in the same boat 2 years from now. I'm glad someone stole this from me, jokes on them...

Standout tracks: He Loves U Not (origonal), and just maybe the song Pain
