Can growing bank accounts and artistic integrity co-exist in Chingy's world? It's a question that begs for an answer on Powerballin', considering he's become a multi-platinum solo seller and not just a Ludacris accessory. A very large chunk of studio time is given over to expounding on his newfound wealth: on "Give Em Some Mo" he's a "young Donald Trump," and on "I Do" he reminds listeners about his new cars (Caprice, Range Rover with spinners, Impala). Fair enough--you have it, you flaunt it. But devoting a whole song ("26's") to the size of his car rims is a bit disturbing. The interesting thing is that numbers like "Balla Baby" are legitimate heat-seeking dance-floor winners, as his breakout smash "Right Thurr" was. But guest shots by R. Kelly and Janet Jackson don't add much to the effort, and when Chingy objectifies young women in the worst way--literally conversing with a body part on "Make That Ass Talk"--it's clear that he needs to refocus his lyrics to match the great beats that are here. --Dalton Higgins

CHINGY IF U READ THIS PLEASE STOP MAKING THESE WACK CDS DUDE JUST FREAKIN QUIT WHEN R U GONNA RELISE U CAN'T RAP AND U JUST SUCK BIGTIME U SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two Star Average...Hahaha.......2006-10-23
Let's face it. Rap/hip-hop basically killed itself during the turn of the century. With no talent retards like 50 Cent, Ja Rule, Nelly, Ludacris, Lil Jon, D4L, and a million others dumbing it down with processed fake lyrics and repetitive beats that drive real music fans crazy. It's horrid, I tell you. With a bunch of guest appearances by other mainstream hacks and horrible vocabulary, no wonder the society has gone corrupt. Hopefully this hack will stop rolling around in the money and get a job at the local gas station.
If you want good rap, go for N.W.A., Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, and anything the members in those bands have done. For talented music in general, go for Between The Buried and Me, Unearth, Chimaira, Necrophagist, Dying Fetus, Aborted, The Black Dahlia Murder, Despised Icon, Darkest Hour, Meshuggah, Cryptopsy, basically anything that I give good reviews on.
Horrible. Just Plain Horrible........2006-08-08
As an Amazon reviewer, I have dedicated my account to providing a level-headed review of anything that I have listened to that is worth reviewing. More often than not, I will point out the good and the bad for each album as to give to the minds of those who haven't heard it yet unbiased information as to decide for themselves whether or not to purchase it. However, I believe I have actually found an album that has no redeeming value anywhere on it. Chingy never was very talented, whether lyrically or flow-wise, but at least his first album had a couple enjoyable beats that pushed the limit of synthesizer use, helping make some of the song more listenable. But his follow-up is...well, how can I describe while also being nice...unmitigated crap. There, I used a big word in an attempt to be nice. Even if you're into the whole "cash-money-hoes" pop rap that's been overtaking the mainstream, this album won't do a thing for you. Some of these types of rapper at least incorporate some of their young "hood" life experiences to make it their own, but Chingy, other than his nasaly, thick accent, does absolutely nothing to place his trademark on this album. All that this album offers is more generic "I'm rich so I'll flaunt it until you puke" crap. Worse, the beats are unoriginal and do nothing to add to the "music". I don't even know if you can call this music, as it does not follow any of the guidelines that music sets down. Chingy has no talent and no amount of argument is going to prove otherwise. I can't believe I once even listened to this guy. It makes me sick that people like this guy are the ones that get paid millions of dollars and sell multi-platinum records for showing absolutely no sign of musicianship at all. He and all his fellow rappers should be sent back to the hood and be forced to study music theory for the rest of their lives. And for the love of God, Chingy, LEARN TO SPELL! You're not impressing anyone with your unintelligent songs like "Wurr Da Git It Gurlz At" and "Fall'N". I don't see what's so hard about spelling those right. Here's a short lesson: "WHERE ARE THE GET IT GIRLS?" and "FALLING", My god, you can't even spell simple words right.
Bottom line: there is no reason why you should buy this album. Like I said, even if you absolutely adore rap and hip hop in all its forms, you most likely will not find any songs on here worth listening to even once. You'll just find it covered in dust in your closet years from now and retch with disgust that you actually dropped full CD price for such a worthless waste of materials. For rap that actually warrants more than one listen, try Busdriver or Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, who actually have lyrical prowess and interesting flow. For good music in general, listen to great metal bands like Children of Bodom and Blind Guardian, and maybe even some classical composers like Dvorak and Beethoven. Those artists have/had more creative talent in a single atom than Chingy has in his whole body. This CD gets no points whatsoever. I would also give 0 stars to it, but Amazon has not yet realized that 1/5 means that there's at least a shred of quality on it, but this album doesn't even deserve it.

Mills all the Way.......2006-08-05
If anyone deserves all 1-star averages more, its Chingy (and Fiddy and D4L).
As for this album, well, if generic beats and asinine, childish "gangsta" lyrics are your thing, then your obviusly self-induced retarded.
Anything is better than this, even a cat being strangled.
First album to get an average score as low as 2 stars.......2006-07-15
Generally on Amazon.com, the average rating of an album does not accurately indicate its quality - that is, the albums are usually highly overrated. This is probably due to the voluntary nature of the reviews and the fact that the fans of an artist are far more likely to review their albums and give them high scores than a casual music listener giving them the score they deserve. As a result of this, generally, albums that have an average score of 4.5 - 5 stars are usually excellent albums. Ones with a score of 4 are generally good and 3.5 indicates a pretty average album. Average scores any lower than 3.5 stars generally indicate a pretty poor album. As I mentioned before, due to the high proportion of fans reviewing albums, the average score rarely falls below 3 stars. It takes a pretty horrendous album, like Limp Bizkit's Results May Vary, to get a score of even 2.5. In fact, I didn't even think that it was possible for an album to get less than 2.5 - that is, until I saw this pile of feces.
Now to put this average score of 2 into context - this means that the proportion of "hataz" reviewing this album is even more than the proportion of fans reviewing it. Out of all the terrible albums I have viewed, I have never seen this happen before. Not even to bands as terrible as Limp Bizkit or even An*l C*nt. This obviously indicates a decline in fan numbers and, hopefully, the end of Chingy's 15 minutes of fame.

I have to say that Powerballin' is a very good album. I kind of like it better than Jackpot. My favorite, favorite tracks on the album are Balla Baby and the Remix, Give Em Some Mo, Fall-N feat. G.I.B., Don't Worry feat. Janet Jackson (love this one!), and 26's feat. Lil' Wayne. So, I give this album 5 stars, because the music is crazy and it's an album that everybody can nod ya head to. To all the CHINGY FANS, lets bring him to the top!

Product Description
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel: Houston ; Chingy, Don Yute, I-20, Nate Dogg, LeToya. Recording information: 2004. With his debut full-length album, IT'S ALREADY WRITTEN, hip-hop/R&B vocalist Houston shows that his talent goes much deeper than indicated by his infectious party hit "I Like That." With an effortlessly soulful voice that could do justice to a Sam Cooke or Marvin Gaye cover, Houston easily slips into the groove in a number of different styles. Highlights include the aggressive dancehall of "Keep It on the Low," and "What You Say," a slow jam that proves to be a surprisingly honest examination of monogamous love. Often sounding like a smooth combination of R. Kelly and Usher, Houston slides around the big beats and spare production of his first record with the ease of a seasoned professional.
From L.A. Guests: Chingy, Nate Dogg, I-20.
