This one Rocks.......2007-01-11

This was the first Delbert McClinton CD I ever bought (actually it was a cassette back then) and I loved it so much I've purchased everything he's recorded since then. Never Been Rocked Enough is still my all time favorite - it is loaded with great songs that illustrate his multi-faceted talent. There is even a track with Bonnie Raitt as an added bonus. I highly recommend it.

This is a fine album worthy of purchase by anybody wanting to add to their Delbert collection. Has a number of songs that are really good but won't be found on any compilations. Get it and you won't regret it.

The only luke warm review on this album says it wasn't enough straight up blues. Gee, Delbert showed some versitility. My how awful!

Well, this album is straight up good. The pacing from one song to another is excellent.

How refreshing to listen to an album all the way through without getting bored. It's a winner. If you like your blues with a little downhome twist, you'll love this album. Missed my one opportunity to see him here in Nashville this year, and boy do I regret it.

Not Enough Straight-Up Blues.......2003-07-17

This CD is a good CD, but, depending on the cut, a little (or a lot) too R&B, reggae, cross-over pop, or rock sounding for my taste. I was looking for a good, solid blues album by McClinton. After a couple of listens, I don't consider this to be it, despite other customer reviews by blues afficionados who apparently do (and whose reviews influenced my decision to give it a whirl). Of the 11 tracks, I count 3, or maybe 4, tops, that have a true blues sound, and, even then, 2 of them are really "blues light." Of the 3 or 4, "Blues as Blues Can Get" is really enjoyable -- with Paul Shaffer playing Wurlitzer. Again, it's a good CD, and McClinton's lyrics are often clever and playful, but if you're looking for what I was looking for, I'd skip this one.

I agree with an earlier user review - Delbert Mcclinton is a seriously overlooked and underappreciated talent.

I'd rate this CD very highly just for the great version of "Have a little faith in me," but the entire disc is just plain supurb.

Just the right mix of Blues, Rock and Country provides a disc that is worth every penny of the asking price.

"Everytime I roll the dice" is a rollicking blues tune, and starts this disc out right. "I used to worry" is a great tune, and just confirms that Delbert isn't worried 'about things like that.' "Miss you fever" is the typical 'sad you are gone (and I probably chased you away)' song, but from there you've got "Why Me" to pick up your spirits and start you rocking.

My personal favorite is "Have a little faith in me," a song that I think of when I hear "If I should fall behind" (performed very well by Springsteen and the E Street-ers and by the exquisite Faith Hill).

"Never been rocked enough" follows that and continues this great disc toward several more great tunes.

An album that never spawned hits on the magnitude of "Bring Me Some Water" or "I'm the Only One" from her debut, Melissa Etheridge's sorely overlooked third effort is a gold mine of poetic contemplation, sensual declarations, and emotional pleas. Of her first five albums, Never Enough is the one that best shows her range. Stepping away from electric guitar-based rock and blues and toward such exploratory tunes as the piano-backed "The Letting Go," the beat- and sample-driven "2001," and the uncommonly poppy "Dance Without Sleeping," Etheridge proves she's not a one-riff musician. She seems to push through her stylistic fears a bit, yet stays comfortably within the boundaries that her raspy belt can reach. Never Enough offers a healthy dose of Etheridge's trademark soul-twisting rock in the form of "Ain't it Heavy" and the angry, possessive of "It's for You." But the addition of pattern-busting songs makes this album a particularly mature, rich, pleasurable listen. --Sally Weinbach

More than Enough to please.......2007-05-22

In the dozen years that have passed since this album came out Melissa E has become somewhat overrated and over glorified, now I'm not saying Melissa doesn't deserve the kudos she is bestowed, in fact I was on that lesbian bandwagon way before anyone outside of the music critic's circles knew she existed. The prob is Melissa's first four albums (Melissa Etheridge, Brave & Crazy, Never Enough, Yes, I Am)were great - spirited, spunky, thought provoking, sad and happy all at once. But after that she decided to stick to the formula on Yes, I Am and milk it for all its worth. Sure she had some great hits post Yes I Am, but to me it was always her album tracks that really shined and its on those first albums where she was saying something new. I tend to go back and forth between this album (Never Enough) and Brave & Crazy as my favorite Melissa albums, but since I wanted a little more rocking in my ears, I opted to dust off this CD and play it for all its worth - featuring one of my fav singles "Ain't It Heavy" (Sometimes it's never enough/ survival is fine but satisfaction is rough) Melissa goes for a feminist approach before crunching into one of her most experimental songs "2001" which now that its 2006 doesn't pull the punch so much anymore ("wake me up when we hit 2001") but it's still a good song. Most of the songs incorporate her old school rock roots with some twang thrown in here and there, and of course songs of sex - though Miss E was pretty clever in these early days never giving the songs' characters a real gender thus making the song one anyone straight or gay could sing along with and of course there's the little over the top ballads she would later be known for but like most of Melissa's work, it's her lyrics that have always pulled me in, and Never Enough really pulls you in from beginning to the end.

This album a lot of people criticize, and although it isnt as good as the others it is still a great album with some good songs. it has the grammy winning song "aint it heavy" and has one of my favorite songs by her "You must be crazy for me" that songs hilarious. This album came out before she did hehe. but i dont understand, how could you listen to "you must be crazy for me" and not realize shes a lesbian. That song makes it so obvious lol. But overall this is a really good album but i wouldnt start out with this one. get her first one or a later one then come back to this one.

She Never Lets You Down.......2006-11-01

Melissa Etheridge does it again and keeps you rockin' There isn't a song on here that lets you down. I can just put it on repeat and enjoy it for hours... YES its THAT GOOD! Thanks M.E. for bringing my spirits up whenever I'm feeling low.

Contains some of her best songs..........2005-09-22

This is something of a transitional album for Melissa Etheridge. After he stellar debut and a follow-up that was a bit too raw for the mainstream, there is something of an effort here to go 'pop'. Such songs as 'Ain't It Heavy' and '2001' add some pop beats that are ok, but pretty much disposable. 'Must Be Crazy for Me' and 'Meet Me in the Back' are also upbeat songs but these work.

However, digging into the album a bit more we find her strengths, when that acoustic guitar get strumming and her voice really penetrates to the very soul. One of my favorite songs, 'Keep It Precious', is found on this album. The other slower numbers on this album are also excellent showing her range. She is no flash in the pan. Overall, it's not as strong as her debut nor as consistent as 'Yes I Am' but this one's a must have for any fan.

This cd is EXCELLENT, as are most of Melissa Etheredges cd's. Both upbeat tunes like "Must be Crazy for me" and slower songs like " Keep It Precious" make up her third album "Never Enough" I would DEFINATELY reccomend this cd to anyone looking to listen to a very geniune artist. Buy this cd, buy her new one, buy them all and complete your Etheridge collection.

The music scene in Senegal is a vibrant one that includes such international stars as Youssou N'Dour, Orchestra Baobab, and Cheikh Lô. Singer/guitarist/producer Wasis Diop is on that elevated list as well. The reason for it is readily apparent on this greatest hits collection Everything Is Never Quite Enough. Here we get one new song (opener "Le Passeur") and 18 other tunes culled from No Sant (What's Your Name), Toxu, and his soundtrack to the movie Hyenes. Not an artist for the African music purist, Diop creates a modern multi-layered sound that skillfully weaves in elements of jazz, rock, and soul as well as indigenous music from other countries. It's the polar opposite of a field recording, but the fusion is nonetheless a skillful one. Everything Is Never Quite Enough is more than a simple retrospective of one of world music's most influential artists. It is an historical overview, a glimpse into the world of an artist who has little time for musical boundaries. While cultivating one of the most unique global fusions in music today, Wasis over the course of the 19 tracks on Everything… combines elements of Arabic, Calypso, R & B, Reggae, Latin and pop all while retaining its traditional Senegalese and West African base. Lyrics are sung in French, English and Diop's' native Wolof often weaving in and out of the languages and all in enthralling service to the elegance and seduction of Wasis' voice.

The first track, "Le passeur" - a brand new song that appears here for the first time - is the latest example of Wasis' artistic alchemy. The other 18 tracks are culled from his three 90's releases (the never released in North America soundtrack Hyènes and the no longer available No Sant and award-winning Toxu) and represent the very best of Wasis Diop. The more I listen to this CD, the more amazed at the talented musicians of Africa. Wasis Diop is first on my list. It deserved a Grammy. Every cut is masterful and transports me to the soul of the world, Africa.

I bought this album because I knew there was a song from The Thomas Crowne Affair on it, and I couldn't think of any of those songs that I wouldn't like. I really had no idea what I was getting, and DID I LUCK OUT!! The first time I listened to the album, I must have sat through the first 20 minutes with an incredulous grin on my face, it was that well done and that much fun.

It is a polished recording with great sound, interesting songs, and great percussion. If you like world music of any kind, it is hard for me to imagine you won't feel the same way I do about this album.

Many folk-rooted artists yearn for international success, and many struggle with the urges to modernize versus being true to their roots: Wasis Diop is one of the few to succeed at fusing his African roots with a modern studio-enhanced pop sound.
He has succeeded so well that most people reading this review will already have heard some of these songs on the radio: this is a 'greatest hits' album and public, college and independent radio have all gotten hip to Wasis Diop.

The only thing I can say is: I know what I like and I LIKE THIS!
Their vocal harmonies are lovely and so is the musicianship.
Even my fourteen-year-old daughter likes this Bluegrass group.

Clean, soulful bluegrass.......2005-10-14

Bluegrass aficionados will be familiar with the guitar playing of Kenny Smith from his stints with Claire Lynch's Front Porch String Band and his time in the Lonesome River Band. Smith also cut a solo album in 1997, and has a popular instructional DVD on the market. He formed his own band in 2001 with then new bride Amanda, and banjo wizard Steve Huber. Over the years the band has hosted a few bass and mandolin players, most recently Alan Bartram and newcomer Jason Robertson. Bartram also contributes his song "She's On My Mind" to this release.

Kenny Smith and Steve Huber are longtime jamming partners, and though they're both stellar pickers, they lay back a bit this time out to shift the spotlight to the group's vocals. The band turns up the tempo on the cantering opener "Always Never Enough" and a cover of Webb Pierce's "A Thousand Miles Ago," and they hot-pick for the driving "What You Do What You Do." But where the band is truly distinctive are on slow and mid-tempo tunes where the group's tight harmonies provide spiritually-tinged backings. Playing Time - 42:43 -- Kenny Smith hails from Nine Mile, Indiana although he currently lives in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. He won the 1992 guitar contest at Merlefest, and placed at Winfield in 92, 93, and 94. From 1993-4, Kenny was a member of Claire Lynch's Front Porch String Band. In 1994, he joined the Lonesome River Band. His first solo album was released in 1997. In 1998 and 1999, he won IBMA Guitar Player of the Year awards. In 2001, Kenny left the Lonesome River Band to perform in a duo with his wife Amanda. They'd met in 1995 at a Lonesome RiverBand concert and married soon thereafter. In 2003, Kenny and Amanda won IBMA's Emerging Artist of the Year Award.

Smith's solo project, "Studebaker," showcased his songwriting abilities and talented wife's soulful singing. A few years have now passed since Kenny and Amanda Smith turned plenty of heads with their gem, "Slowly but Surely" (Farm Boy FBR-1001), that included band members Ronald Inscore, Jason Moore, Steve Huber, and Ron Stewart. It helped formulate the band's original, contemporary sound characterized by beautiful vocals, expert picking, solid arrangements, excellent repertoire, and high recording quality. They released their second album, "House Down the Block," in January 2004.

This group's second release on the distinguished Rebel Records label came to my attention when I heard the title track (written by Tim Stafford and Steve Gulley) as the lead off song on Volume 75 of Prime Cuts of Bluegrass. The Kenny & Amanda Smith Band have a mellifluous bluegrass sound that varies quick-paced romps with beautiful and emotionally-rendered ballads

The band has had a couple personnel changes. Whiz banjo-player Steve Huber is still with the Smiths, but "Always Never Enough" introduces Jason Robertson (mandolin) and Alan Bartram (bass). Robertson is young player with a very tasty and clean, crisp sound which I personally would've liked strengthened in the mix. Also a quality songwriter, Bartram penned "She`s on my Mind." Although a minor criticism, I still believe that this band's sound would be enhanced with some fiddle and/or dobro in a few spots. Their choice of material, on this project particularly, begs for some incorporation of these instruments. As did their "House Down the Block" release. However, I can also understand and fully appreciate the artists' own personal vision and desired signature sound to instead emphasize vocals, banjo, guitar, and mandolin as the primary vehicles for their musical expression.

The Kenny and Amanda Smith Band's "Always Never Enough" offers good harmony, straight-ahead picking, and very solid song selection with thoughtful messages and varied tempos. While Kenny, a decent songwriter himself, didn't pen any of the numbers, the band draws material from some favorite sources -- Tim Stafford, Becky Buller, and their own Alan Bartram. They also like to cover some country classics, in this album's case it's Webb Pierce and Mel Tillis' "A Thousand Miles Ago." The album closes with a song that connects all their bluegrass dots to the past, Carter Stanley's "Our Last Goodbye." It's an interesting arrangement that modulates to a different key and which characterizes their sound -- fluid picking, spiritually-tinged harmonies, and high amperage in their musical currents. Superb, fantastic, wonderful..........2005-08-06

Superb, this disc is wonderful, from the first song Always Never, , the calm Pacific Time and the haughty Dig to little deep, my favorite one, all the songs are fantastic, Amanda's voice, Kenny's guitar and all the rest musicians are incredible .. recommended all the lovers of the bluegrass, and of the good music .. I do not tire of listening to this disc and other two works are also haughty .. a greeting from Spain

patty smyth-one of the great rock voices.......2007-01-03

i had this on cassette when it was first released and spent alot of time trying to find the cd. i always liked this album, and i don't thik it ever really got the promotion it should have. there are some great songs here and of course that voice of patty's-pure heaven. it is s slightly different style than that of scandal album and maybe that it why it never caught on the way it should have. i recommend this to anyone a fan of patty's singing and to those who love rock music.

One outstanding track in an overall good album.......2005-03-26

The outstanding track is "Call to Heaven" which never got any radio play time because it's more than 5 minutes long, but they are an enthralling 5 minutes. It is one of my top 20 songs of all time (and I've heard a lot of songs).

I don't have a problem with the songs at all, though I don't believe it is up to the quality of Scandal's "The Warrior". I bought the Japanese import (on CD) of this at a Sam The Record Man a few years ago because it was only $5, plus they didn't have the regular version. Unfortunately I believe there is some issue that happened in the duplication process, because the sound quality appears to be average at best...and I've played it on several CD players to confirm this...anyone else have this issue?

Listening to Smyth is never enough.......2003-07-04

It seems unjust that Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian of the Hooters musically made their best mark with only their first album. The artists they wrote for and produced albums for seemed to do better. One artist they propped up was Patty Smyth, best known as the voice of Scandal--("The Warrior", "Beat Of A Heart"), and although it didn't do well, I consider Never Enough to be one of the best albums of the 1980's.

For the most part, Never Enough expands on Scandal's sound to a wall of rock guitar with the usual 80's-accompanied keyboards. Smyth's edgey, robust voice is easily demonstrated on the rocking title track. A girl meets the man of her dreams, and that promise in the dark they made together ends up being lost in the storm forever, to paraphrase. She learns the cost of freedom, which becomes a secret the man shared to something we all can share. Easily the best track here.

Her cover of Tom Waits' "Downtown Train" betters Rod Stewart's 1991 version. It matches her persona, pretty but not in an artificial model-glamorous sort of way, street-smart, wearing a leather jacket and mini, tough but loyal. When she mentions the line about Brooklyn girls being thorns without the rose, and she says, "Oh if I was the one/you chose to be your only one" it reminds me of tomboy Mary Stuart Masterson telling Eric Stoltz about Lea Thompson in Some Kind Of Wonderful. David Sanborn has a nice and all-too brief sax solo.

"Call To Heaven" is a sobering rock ballad of a soldier at war who captured by enemies and executed by firing squad, exploring the minds of both sides. The guitars and Patty's vocals go up a notch from this verse on: "Gather 'round reluctant marksmen/One of them to take his life/With a smile he gives them pardon/Leaves the dark and takes the light." The chorus goes "What a night though it's one of seven/What a night for the dancing dead/What a night to be called to heaven/What a picture to fill your head." The second best track.

Ace songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly contribute the heartbreaking but winning "The River Cried." Why? "The river cried for my lonely soul/You were the only one who really knew me/And hearing this, the river cried." Another poignant line: "Waiting for you to return my sigh."

"Isn't It Enough" is a note of advise that "I fit you like a worn-out glove" so be content of the title concept. "I'll satisfy your fire but I'm not made of stone" gives her a tough but vulnerable quality.

The quick-paced "Sue Lee" co-penned by Rick Chertoff, could've been covered by Journey. The title girl seems to be a refugee living in poverty. However, the lines "She smiles when she looks at the world around/With her high-top sneakers and her hard-rock sound" might fit Smyth as well.

"Tough Love" is a hard-driving number on fighting the competitive battlezone of those mean streets. "Heartache Heard Round The World" is co-written by Hyman, Bazilian, Chertoff, and Smyth, and the effort shows. When she sings "I'm no angel, but I'm not so tough" reinforces that vulnerable side of her that makes her more human. The title is the sound that knocks her down, and her wish is more than fulfilled when she says "I wanna be a rock and roll girl."

Smyth gets quality help here. Not only do Hyman and Bazilian do backing vocals but so do Rory Dodd of Meat Loaf fame and Rick Chertoff, the producer of Cyndi Lauper's She's So Unusual. Never Enough is one of those one-of-a-kind albums whose true appreciation was, well, never enough.

Killwhitneydead is what happens when you crossbreed a horror movie with Cryptopsy, The Red Chord, Cephalic Carnage, and also some slight elements of rock and roll. And you're probably turned on enough already by the artwork. XP

This, Killwhitneydead's sophomore album, was my first introduction to the band. I remember walking thru the aisles of my local record store, looking for something new. I picked up this cd, and although i had neevr heard of them, the cd cover intrigued me.
When i threw it in my cd player for the ride home, my ears were assualted with the best form of musical misogony i head ever heard. The music is awesome, the vocals are killer........and in an overcowded scene, the band is completely original. Here's hoping they keep doing what they do best, and here's a toast to their hopefully long musical career.

Take some of the best movie quotes you can think of and mix those with an extremely disturbed band and you've got the basic recipe for a Killwhitneydead CD.

What is sure to bring unsuspecting listeners in is probably going to be the cover, that's what drew me in. And, more or less, whatever you could gather from the cover art is exactly what you'll be greeted with while listening to Never Good Enough For You. The songs are fast and in-your-face, the lyrics are violent and angry, pretty much everything you'd expect from a band with the name Killwhitneydead.

By now you probably know that this band uses a lot of movie quotes, and a few Family Guy quotes, but that side of the band often overshadows how intense the actual music is. Killwhitneydead knows how to make a good song with great guitar riffs, pretty good drumming, and some excellent vocals. Another thing I love about this band is the incredible song titles. Hilarious, shocking, violent, it's just a bundle of fun.

My favorite songs are Where There's Smoke, I Already Have Enough Friends (Take Two), You Like Knife Play? I Love Knife Play, She Didn't Look Like She Had A Disease, and It Ain't Gonna Suck Itself. One song that does deserve special mention is I Already Have Enough Friends (Take Two). Much like Slipknot's controversial Purity, ...Enough Friends pushes the envelope as far as you can. Never Good Enough For You is highly recommended.

Killwhitneydead is a source of comical relief in a world that's too serious. "Avoid this garbage"? "These guys give a bad name to hardcore"? Its kind of embarrassing that anyone can take this album that seriously. The songs are short, fun, witty, with influences drawing from neo classical metal to grindcore. THere is everything there: breakowns, blast beats, bitchin' solos, and dirty ass rock 'n' roll. There is also an abundance of movie samples that make the songs interesting. Listen to these guys with an open mind and remember, KILLWHITNEY DEAD HATE EVERYONE.

Great compilation.......2002-05-10

I don't actually own this particular compilation, however, since I own nearly every recording represented on these discs...I think I'm qualified to comment. This is a wonderful representation of the high quality of work that DRG Records does.
The previous review is way off the mark. This is definitely not a waste of time or money. This is 25 years of preserving Broadway shows, Off-Broadway shows, studio recordings (mostly from the city center concerts), etc. So what if they "aren't as good as the original", DRG is preserving many recordings and artists that other mainstream labels don't or won't. You have wonderful recordings from Brian Stokes Mitchell, Nathan Lane, Debbie Gravitte, Tyne Daly, Anthony Perkins, Joanna Gleason, Marin Mazzie, Carol Burnett, Heather Headley, Patti LuPone, Barbara Cook, etc., and many of these are from Original Cast Recordings just as they appeared on Broadway. This is an excellent sampler of the work going on at DRG. No...I'm not an employee...just an avid listener and collector of theatre recordings.

A disappointment.......2001-12-15

There's a reason you've probably never heard of most of the songs and shows on this album, not to mention most of the artists. This is a second-rate collection of second-rate numbers performed by mostly second-rate artists. In the case of the shows that were revivals, the performances on the original cast recordings were better. Don't waste your money.

The title tune that kicks off Chely Wright's fourth album is a typically overwrought country-pop love pledge, but on other tunes Wright cuts masterfully to love's twisted chase with anguished musical vignettes of romantic ambiguity. Women who aren't loved enough ("Jezebel," "Deep Down Low"), women who are loved too much ("Not As in Love"), women who've lost their men ("Her"), and women who want their men to get lost ("While I Was Waiting") are all topics of the day. Yet Wright brings similar emotional authority to a pair of songs--"One Night in Las Vegas" and "For the Long Run"--that celebrate the quiet, hard-fought intimacy of long-term commitment. To describe Wright, who wrote or cowrote 5 of these 12 cuts, as a country diva with a graduate degree in marital counseling is a compliment. Okay.......2007-05-01

Not great...not good...about fair (that's gotta be the right word). Her voice sounds too harsh...hell, has she been smoking (or hell, maybe she will be later when she gets there). I hope she realizes that most country fans are religious and that some of her songs are a little offensive. Well, Miranda Lambert holds the title for worst song writer. Ooookay, I guess I've said enough already (guess I should quit while I'm ahead).

This is a pleasant CD overall. "For the Long Run" is my favorite song. It Surprises me that she is not a bigger star, because she has a lovely voice with character and depth that some of the more pop country singers lack.

the album - which was her follow up to the (someday will be thought of as a classic album) "Single White female." is not anywhere close as what she could be capable of. and i can prove it too. i reccomend "The Metroplitan Hotel" it is magnificant and on of my favorite albums of the year. i found this album not very good at all. and the songs i did like are on her "20th Century Masters" album.
i feel with this album she sold out. she made this album either to capture the same success she got with SWF or she catered to the country music industry by letting her try to cement herself as a rival to Shania Twain. (Which i always felt they were trying to do.) the album sounded too phony, the music itself was by most part mechanical and i did not feel she was trying to get me to believe in her.i got the feeling she was trying to just be sexy in her presentations both physically and metaphorically - and she dosen't need to do that. she already is without trying to force it on me. and that is the feeling i got - i feel this album was too commercial anyway like she and her label needed the quick buck.
if you want to get it to hear her try to compete with Shania Twain or you want to look at her pictures within the case, then this album is for you. but i don't think this is near her best effort. she said nothing new to me and everything she did say sound like Shania should be saying it. it sound phony and cartoonish and very commercial. like i said there are thing i do like about it. but i can get just thoes thing from her Masters album.
she a much better talent than this album makes her out to be.

Like It.......2006-06-19

I don't really know how to write this review, because all of Chely Wright album is very good. And as i wrote on other rewiews of Chely's albums she's an amazing songwriter especially her ballades which is very special, especially to me. I don't know why, but it sais something.
Anyway ths is another very good album by Chely Wright.

Great follow-up to Single white female.......2005-05-12

Following the success of Single white female, it seemed that Chely had finally made the big time. This album could have confirmed her arrival but, for whatever reason, it didn't. The singles didn't do as well as expected so the record label lost interest in Chely. It's a pity because this is a fine album full of great songs, but at least it didn't mark the end of Chely's career - she eventually started recording again.

This is, essentially, an upbeat album, which includes a mix of happy songs with other songs that look on the bright side of various situations. The title track seems at first to be a happy song but closer study shows that it is about a woman who loves a man more than the man loves her - even so, the woman is sticking to her man The second song, Jezebel, has echoes of Loretta Lynn - it is about a woman trying to keep her man from a rival. Compared to Loretta's songs such as Fist city and You ain't woman enough, Chely's song may seem restrained but the determination is the same.

My favorite song here, One night in Las Vegas, is about a couple who have their difficulties but the good times make the struggles worthwhile. So the album continues with one great song after another, all of which Chely sings superbly. The music may be a little too contemporary for some but Chey's voice is always the most important element - the music never gets in the way of her wonderful voice.

This album may not be quite as good - or as successful - as Single white female, but that classic album was always going to be difficult to follow. This is a brilliant album in its own right. If you enjoy any of Chely's other albums, you will surely love this too.

Just amazing........2001-10-10

This is another great CD by a no-name band. I wish their second CD were more readily available. I saw these guys live and picked up the CD at the show, it's great. Songs like "133," "Faster," "All I Want," and "Money + Fame." are IMO the best. If you want to know what they sound like, think Linkin Park meets Sublime. Very good, worth a listen if not a buy.

Dial 7 is more than another 311, they are so much more. If you like a CD that sounds like it has 4 or 5 different bands on it but it is actually the same band, then this is for you. From hard core 311 type, to old blues royal fingerbowl type, to reggae modern bob marley type, this band has a buttload of talent. It is a fun CD to listen to because it's not about anger and having sex or doing drugs. It's about having a good time and living. Great CD. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes groovy hard core or a little bit of rap and reggae.

man this cd is just incredible,ive been listening to this for 2 years now and i still love it.no matter how many bands you can compare them to they still have a sound that only they could pull off-and they definately pull it off with authority and style-which is more than i can say for at least 75% of music out there.i mean these guys are so good that i have a hard time believing that they still havent hit the mainstream but i dont know if the public is ready.id would compare them to 311 but i dont think 311 has anything on dial-7.....just go get it! and go to their website and order their other cd as well! dialse7en-later

Allright people...if you hear this album, you truly have lived. Every song is so good in so many ways. Dial-7 knows how to execute good lyrics with FORCE. There are some moments in music where total musical bliss is achieved. In this album, basically the whole thing is that. Like at the end of "133" where it goes from the rap of shauny b to the calm reggae of mike lord. this combination shows unmatched diversity, and in that the listener is elevated to a more heavenly state. every time i listen to this album i like it more..it isn't the type of thing you'll ever get bored of. so, if you like good lyrics, tunes that rock more than anything....and also tunes that are mellow and emotionally beautiful, then Never Enough Time is IT. Join in on the rap/hardcore/reggae/etc heaven.

I first heard these guys on a bouldering video called Inertia. I was blown away. I didn't know who sung MacFly at the time... so I went and checked out every band that was in the Video til I found Dial 7. Man, these guys rock. What a find!
