There are only two good hip-hop magazines in the US, and Murder Dog is at the top (The Ave. is second). Lifestyle rag? Not for a *minute*. The magazine is strictly underground hip-hop. Anyone who even remotely cares about hip-hop should grab this two-CD set. Murder Dog was writing about David Banner, Pastor Troy, DJ Screw (and his H-Town disciples: Swishahouse), Planet Asia, and TI when your mama was in diapers. And all of those artists represent here, with some early, early tracks. Where are they now? On major labels. As if that weren't enough, this compilation's got 37 tracks from cities like Chicago & San Diego to Ripley, MS and Arcata, CA. There are artists, producers, rappers representing these towns, but they are getting *slept on* like a new Sealy Posturepedic. Some of these underground artists have put out 2 or 3 albums that bang like I-can't-say-on-MSN. If you think I work for Blood Rush, Murder Dog's label, so be it, but they don't need to pay anyone to hype this s*** up. That's enough from me, just obtain this now, but get those subwoofers repaired first. I coulda filled up this box with stuff like: "This shznit is banging, son!!!!!!!!" "This is *too* slamming, dog!!!!". Oh yeah, The Blood Rush label came out with some compilations of underground hip-hop artists from Kansas City, MO, Gary, IN, and a few others. Peace. chantdown, from NO "street team" or "marketing department"
