I used this CD to help me rehearse for the BIG production I was in, but it didn't match the libretto at all. I think there was one song on there that I could use.

If you're getting this CD to help prepare for your school or community group doing the musical, there are a lot of changes from the CD to the book. Aside from finding the book in a new key and some chunks added/deleted, Here We Go Again and When You're Big aren't included anymore.

Overall, the music's a little trite, but there are some nice moments -- mostly the stuff sung by the female leads.

My high school did "Big" my sophomore year, and oh my god, it was such a fun musical to do. I kind of forgot about it until my senior year, when I suddenly craved some of that music again. So I purchased this CD and I've been loving it since. They got rid of a couple of the songs and replaced them with others as the show progressed on Broadway, so I was suprised to hear new material (to me anyways), and for the most part, I actually enjoyed these original songs over their replacements that my production contained. This cast is phenomenal and the guy who plays Josh Baskin sounds so much like Tom Hanks at points, its crazy. It's a simple, yet a bit fantastic musical about growing up, and it's funny and romantic, and a lot of fun. I love all the songs, and it's a shame it didn't do too well on B-way. At least this recording will keep the music alive.

"This Isn't Me" is one of my favorite tracks, as it's a lot of fun and has a great beat, but suprisingly it was replaced with "Good Morning to Mom", which was only so-so. "I Want To Go Home" is a great ballad that Josh sings, and its simple, a bit funny, and the ending is the best, as its cute and sad. Another song they got rid of, "Here We Go Again", is a song Susan sings, and again, I like it alot. It has a quirky melody that I like. "Stars, Stars, Stars" is another great song, and is quite cute. One of the more popular songs. "Cross The Line" is the finale to Act I and is also very excellent and up beat, and makes you want to dance. "Stop, Time" is my favorite song on the album by far. Sung by Josh's mom, it is one of the more poignant moments of the show. Heartfelt, sad, and truly beautiful, it defiantely makes you appreciate your mom. Barbara Walsh sounds superb on this: she has a great voice. I love this one. "Dancing all the Time" is another good Susan song, and it leads into "I Want To Know" by Young Josh, which is another good ballad. "Coffee, Black" is another showstopper, fun ensemble song, and again, very comedic. "One Special Man" is Susan's ballad to Josh, and it is very beatiful. My only regret is that its only 2:21 so its a short one, and I just want her to start belting at the end, but no, its a quiet ending. Still, I love this one too. The finale is great too, and features an amazing duet between Josh and Susan. I love the harmonies they do.

All in all, this is a great album. Sample the songs and give it a try. This is a must have!!

a lost gem.......2004-10-14

i saw this musical at the local high school in 2001 and was plesently suprised i of course saw the movie and the only thing i knew about this musical was it didnt stay long on broadway, so when i saw it was i shocked this is a delight cross the line still resenates in my head 5 years later.

BEWARE. This musical is perhaps one of the five worst pieces of music I have ever experienced. I began to wonder if the composer was attempting to make the world's worst musical. Listen for yourself and enjoy the disjunct vocal lines, the desperate attempt at "fun music", and - worst of all - how the highlight of the entire show both dramatically and musically is the insipidly awful "Heart and Soul". Stick to the movie because this baby is horrendous.

Brilliant!.......2007-04-25

This cd is simply amazing! I was once a fan of secular hip hop, but this cd really changed my views about the subject. Secular hip hop is terrible in content. Lecrae brings great beats, better than most popular hip hop artists, and combines solid lyricism. Most importantly, he glorifies God in his music. The song Jesus Muzik is quite possibly the best hip hop song I've heard.

I highly recommend this cd for it's quality music and message. Don't be a fan of secular hip hop and its poor message. As the cd title states, this is the real talk (about Christianity), not guns, sex, drugs. Listen to Lecrae, you won't be disappointed.

From the moment I heard Lecrea singing with Flame on Flame's 2nd album, I knew Lecrea would be awesome! I didn't order the CD online, but kept looking for it at local Christian stores. Now that I have "Real Talk", I've got my hands on a gem!
Lecrea easily outdoes secular rappers and hip-hop, and he does it with the style of a brother in Christ. Like other reviewers are mentioning, I'll say he has the ability to spin tracks for everyone, further allowing anyone to pick this CD up and find something they'll like. And don't forget to listen for the two bonus tracks at the end of the CD. Totally worth it. Totally worth the money you probably wasted on secular rap artists. This is the BEST hip-hop CD I've heard in a LONG, LONG time. I totally recommend anything by Lecrea. Keep serving!

Looking for a(nother) awesome gangsta rap artist?.......2006-01-14

This is from who used to be a rap listener, but now, wants bass and a rapper who raps with that bold and aggressive attitude type approach. I don't usually like rap, because too much of the artists today talk about the same thing, over and over again, drugs, alcohol, violence, repeat. Hey! And what the heck? I've been trying to find a gangsta rap artist with that southern style beat and sound. Lecrae is an artist that has music so unique, and totally sweet rap songs. And yes, with bass, too (Represent, check that one out first, then, Take Me As I Am, Souled Out, and We Don't). Not just more rap songs, but these songs have the addictive hook to them that makes you want to get up and listen to it over and over again. Heck, I find myself even wanting to get up, bob my head, and rap along with these songs. They are so smooth flowing, with smooth great bass, too. One example is Represent. It's like clean Lil Jon. I couldn't believe this. Yea! This is the rap artist I'm talking about that can actually rap without the repeated drugs, alcohol, and violence lyrics. 50 Cent (Take Me As I Am), Ludacris, T.I., Bun B. (untitled track, which is a slower gangsta sounding version of Represent), Twista (Aliens, and Repesent), Will Smith (I kid you not, listen to Crossover) Lil Jon (Represent), and all them gangsta rappers, this artist sounds similar to all those and more. So, Lecrae: Real Talk. He doesn't just constantly overdo it and shove one of or the same message in your face. Go listen to some sample songs, and if you are as hooked as I am, hopefully ya'll reading this will go out, and buy Lecrae's album, Real Talk, and support him. Hopefully this review helps anyone looking for a good rap artist they can look to and stick up to. So check him out.

i knew i was getting this album as soon as i heard the first track off of it. i ended up liking all of them.

the lyrics, flow, and beats are cold-- i can't wait til he has another album.

i saw him in concert with truth, cm, and flame. he was probably the best.

i know a lot of gospel hip hop either sounds cliche or compromising of chrisitan value. this does neither. everything is fresh and straight forward.

sometimes his voice sounds like luda, but he has his own unique style that you get to hear varying from track to track.

not that bad of cd .......2007-07-23

as everybody already knows all the versus here were cut and pasted over different beats but i say this cd is not as bad as every1 says it is besides the versus being used already the next bad thing is the cuts that were made... for example since these versus were used on different albums layzie or bizzy would say the name of the album on the verse but they would just blank it out and dint even bother to mix it exept on 1 track...overall this album is okay but be warned

2nd Bone Brothers album is a lttle bit disappointing.......2007-05-25

When Layzie and Bizzy got together for their first album, it was nice, this one is different. As most reviewers have said, almost all the verses are from other songs the 2 recorded on other albums just mixed together and put over new beats. And like most Real Talk ent. albums, it's short, at only 10 songs and 4 skits - plus the fact they put it out the same day as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's very solid "Strength & Loyalty" album. Of the 10 sogns, 5 are good and 5 are ok, no guest on the album and each person is on every songs. Production is decent, Big Hollis does 5 songs, Vince V does 4 and Preach does 1. If you have Layzie & Young Nobles "Thug Brotehrs" or any of Bizzy's albums on Real Talk Ent. you've already heard most of the verses and I'd skip it.

HUGE Disappointment!.......2007-05-14

I can't believe I am about to write a bad review about a Bone CD, BUT... I was really anticipating the release of this album, and paid $18 to get it the day it came out, only to be incredibly disappointed. I really have to wonder if Layzie and Bizzy even know that they released a new Bone Brothers CD? The entire disc is composed of recycled lyrics from Midwest Cowboy and Thug Brothers... I don't think there are any new verses at all. I will say I liked most of the beats though, but that's about it. Normally I can put in a Bone CD and just let it play through, I tried to listen to this disc twice and gave up... The first Bone Brothers album was WAY better. I can't believe they let this crap get released..... this is going to be added to my CD rack just to help complete my collection but will otherwise just be collecting dust.

Not recorded together.......2007-05-13

This CD is not recorded in the studio together. Rather Bizzy Bone and Layzie Bone acapellas are taken off of other CD's and put over new beats. This per say is a remixed album of Thug Brothers Vs Midwest Cowboy. As other reviewers say the beats are no where near the quality of the originals. Not to mention the verses have no theme on tracks as it can be noted that there is no chemistry flow and have awkward feelings. For a bone duo check out thug brothers instead of this disc. Thug Brothers is a hip hop collaboration of Bones' Layzie and the Outlawz' Young Noble.

a sad disgrace .......2007-05-11

just like the other two who have reviewed this cd i am disgusted by what real talk ent. did i love the label but do even layzie and bizzy know that they put an album out of thug brothers and midwest cowboy mix'd up its just sad i did like the beats tho and thats about it i want my money back for that one well because i have to give it a rating to go through i put it at a one but it doesnt deserve it

From beginning to end this CD is pure delight. A great recording has great music, a great performance, and great sound; this one scores on all three counts.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's musicals dominated Broadway in the 1940s and 1950s, and American musical theater has produced no more consistently eloquent and durable voice than Richard Rodgers. From his fertile genius flowed a surprising number of memorable songs, many of which have passed into and become an accepted and beloved part of modern American culture.

This well-filled CD (77:36) features symphonic arrangements (all but two by Robert Russell Bennett) of the music from Oklahoma (1943), Carousel (1945), State Fair (1945), South Pacific (1949), The King and I (1951), Flower Drum Song (1958), and The Sound of Music (1959). All the great tunes are here in suites from each musical that average 10-12 minutes in length. The arrangements are expert: rich, varied, and colorful. The performances are polished, idiomatic, and irresistible; Kunzel and this orchestra are thorough masters of this kind of material. And Telarc's sound (recorded 1991) is state-of-the-art (engineer Michael Bishop deserves to take a bow).

In short, there's nothing here to cloud your listening pleasure (the only quibble I can imagine is that some of your favorites may not last long enough), so it's hard for me to envision anyone with ears and a taste for music who wouldn't enjoy this CD. Warmly recommended. Finally, if you like this one as much as I do, you might want to know that the same team has produced a companion volume, the Lerner & Lowe Songbook for Orchestra.

"Some Enchanted Evening" with Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops.......2003-12-26

Erich Kunzel's Rodgers and Hammerstein anthology with the Cincinatti Pops Orchestra is one of the best and most ravishing instrumental Rodgers and Hammerstein albums of all time. With sumptuous arrangements and warm, natural Telarc recording, this glorious 77-minute CD presents sweeping, melodic arrangements of over 60 Rodgers and Hammerstein selections, spanning eight scores, and Kunzel allows the Pops to play with a characterful and polished understanding of the Rodgers and Hammerstein idiom. The disc is enough to cheer you up on a dull day and make you smile, and it might even want to make you feel like a convert to Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals.

This CD has all the scores arranged chronologically. The OKLAHOMA! suite that opens this disc promises a feast for the senses, Kunzel ably evokes the territory's "bright, golden haze" in the way he conducts the various excerpts, until you feel the atmosphere of the country charm of the show, and the love-affair between Curly and Laurey. Then, in CAROUSEL, he ably evokes the pathos of this tragic R&H masterwork, especially in the truncated Waltz, but he leads a wonderfully melodic "June is Bustin' Out All Over" and a devotional "You'll Never Walk Alone." Although this suite does not include Billy's pivotal Soliloquy, it includes "If I Loved You" as an expression of his love for Julie, and within minutes you could be soaked in the ups and downs of the show's mood.

After a brief STATE FAIR suite, with sweeping renditions of "It Might As Well Be Spring" and "It's a Grand Night for Singing", we are brought into the disc's showstopping highlights. These highlights are the excerpts from SOUTH PACIFIC, THE KING AND I, and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. But yet Kunzel conducts the rest of the disc until the various suites amount to a series of showstoppers. These three suites present wonderfully-arranged versions of their many familiar classic songs, with well-played solos. The SOUTH PACIFIC suite presents the songs in chronological order, yet preserves the atmosphere of the show at the same time. Kunzel ably brings out the romance in "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Younger than Springtime," and contrasts it with the exotic and dreamlike "Bali Hai'i" and the comic "There is Nothing like a Dame" and "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair". Although the suite ends quietly with a reprise of "Dites-Moi" rather than the reprise of "Some Enchanted Evening," within minutes we are swept into the KING AND I suite. Kunzel ably brings out the Oriental pathos in this score, and he captures the warmth of Anna's rapport with the King's Siamese children in "Getting to Know You", and with the King himself in "Shall We Dance." There is also romance in the love ballads "I Have Dreamed" and "We Kiss in a Shadow." Similarly, in the selection from THE SOUND OF MUSIC, Kunzel conducts this until the orchestra soaks itself in the atmosphere of this Austrian R&H score. This SOUND OF MUSIC suite has more of a feel of the score compared to the bonus track on Sony's reissued version of the Broadway recording. You can almost feel as if you are following the progress of the Trapp family and how it lifts its spirits with the joy of music. Kunzel gives us a soaring version of the title song, and spirited versions of "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favourite Things." He balances it with the open-air quality of "Edelweiss" and "The Lonely Goatherd." Although this suite could have included "Something Good," the love ballad written for the film, the three recollections of the songs that were cut from the movie only last for a while. And, the towering version of "Climb Every Mountain" crowns this portion of the disc, and this sumptuously-produced recording. But, I should also mention the infectuous FLOWER DRUM SONG medley, where Kunzel turns this underrated score into a work of art, until it convinces you to buy the cast recording. And, don't forget about the brief CINDERELLA WALTZ, too, when Kunzel conducts it magically, until you feel like you are in the company of Cinderella and the Prince. He is able to show how this R&H score marked a comeback for R&H after the failiures of Me and Juliet, and Pipe Dream.

Overall, this glorious Rodgers and Hammerstein recording is guarunteed to make you want to pucker your lips out for a whistle or sing along (to paraphrase another revew for Kunzel's Disney Spectacular disc) - even if this recording is music only, and as long as you know the words to the songs (and you might know a large handful of them already.) There is always a certain magic in this fine CD that makes you feel like you're sitting in the theatre watching these musicals, until it makes you feel like it is truly, to borrow two R&H song titles, "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Something Wonderful" to be in Kunzel's company for this R&H offering. It would certainly be one recording that could make you feel willing to buy the complete cast recordings of the shows. And I guaruntee that it will make you feel willing to pull out your existing copies of the cast recordings to listen to them again. I also guaruntee that it will be a cornerstone in any Rodgers and Hammerstein collection, just as it is in mine. Recommended heartily to any Rodgers and Hammerstein enthusiast and to fans of Erich Kunzel's work. And, you can play it while reading the Richard Rodgers biography, Musical Stages, until Rodgers himself would count this as his favourite disc in the afterlife.

By the way, most of the arrangements for the suites on this CD were done by the veteran R&H orchestrator Robert Russell Bennett, and it surely adds to the appeal of this recording. This itself is enough to amount to the icing on the cake, since Kunzel conducts them well on here, and since this recording still allows the suites to have the original theatrical atmosphere. And, although this recording is like the Mauceri collection of the Rodgers & Hammerstein overtures in compiling orchestral suites of Rodgers & Hammerstein, I think that I like the Kunzel recording even more because Kunzel has more magic in his conducting of these suites.

Taken in small doses, Fabolous's for-the-club raps work nicely… well, for the club--and nothing much else. On the addictive "Breathe" he reluctantly ditches his usual drawl and spits some urgent ghettocentric punch lines with great effect. Interestingly, on "Don't Stop Won't Stop," Fabolous charges that people continue to steal his flow. Now, nobody's sure who has the copyright on the lazy delivery that Mase and Loon also employ, but that's a moot point on "Baby," where his crooner homey Mike Shorey sings over a familiar Michael Jackson sample (think De La Soul's "Breakadawn"). The obligatory Lil' Mo collabo "Holla at Somebody Real" is no "Can't Let You Go" although "Tit 4 Tat" offers a nice respite from the banality of the beats and lyrics--but that might be because the ubiquitous Pharrell is on board. Fab is a skilled lyricist, but some tracks are a little too predictable. Some tracks are great while others are only ok. The production is pretty good as producers include Just Blaze, The Neptunes, Scott Storch, The Trackmasters, Jonathan Rotem, DJ Khaled, and more. Guest appearances include Lil' Mo, Mike Shorey, Young Jeezy, Sean Paul, Paul Cain, Nate Dogg, Charlie Murphy, and more. Overall, this is a solid album.

He doesn't use his skill........2006-10-15

Fabolous is a talented MC but doesn't use his skill to his full potential. He flows good sometimes in this album but he can get very annoying. I own this and his debut album Ghetto Fabolous and I recognize two things about them that have in common, one both albums are commercialized a little much and another thing is that some of these beats can be made by an eight grade with a synthesiser. This album I listened to and wasn't impresse but wasn't in total shock of how bad it was. The annoying parts are in the first song Somethin' Like a Pimp when he is flowing decently he just pauses and the song basically stops for a second (lord knows how many pause are made). Then he copied a Boogie Down song from Stop the Violence which is ok, but the way he changed it to is much differnet from what KRS said. 1,2,3 is that song copying by the 1,2,3 but changed the verse of "1,2,3, The group is called BDP, and if you want to go to the tip top, Stop the violence in hip hop" to "1,2,3, You don't really want to f*** with me, YOur on my block f***** wit a gangsta." This got me a little mad because he not only changed the verse to a pointless verse, but how he changed the meaning from KRS saying to stop violence to provoking violence. Another bad part on this album is the guest appearences. How can anybody have Young Jeezy or Pharell featured. Pharell is a loser who half the time raps and the other half sings, and he sucks at rapping and isn't a great singer, and not to mention people say he's a good producer, from what I have seen he produced a horrible beat for the song Mr. Me Too by the Clipse. And Young Jeezy, one of the most boring rappers to listen to with everything wrong. His lyrics are all about crack and how he's the "Snowman", and his voice is just painful to hear. Those are some parts I didn't like about this album, but some good stuff is sometimes he flows good. A song that actually impressed me was Breathe. This was a good song by the flow a decent beat, and a pretty good point. Other then the bad spots here this is a decent album. Fabolous is a talented MC but his problems are that he needs better producing and he needs to use his potential to the fullest. Otherwise this is a decent album to have in a collection.

Wow!.......2006-02-01

Okay, I bought this album last March because I was going on a long trip and wanted something to listen to. I wasn't sure how good it would be because I hadn't heard any of the songs before I purchased it. I picked it up, put it in my cd player, and started listening to it and was blown away. Every song was fire and showed an artist with some real potential to fulfill. Now I know this is his third album, but I feel that he could still get better. All of the beats are very good, with Breath having one of the best beats I have ever heard and Fab spitting some incredible lyrics. Other highlights include Don't Stop, Won't Stop, Can You Hear Me, and PoPo. Can You Hear Me has some great lyrics and is one of my favorites on this cd. I highly recommend this cd, as well as Fab's other albums.

Step It Up!!.......2006-01-04

As with Twista after Kamikaze, i expected big things from Real talk after the very solid 'Street Dreams'. However this was not the case. This has it's standout tracks like Ghetto and It's Alright with Sean Paul but too be honest your not really missing much if u don't get this. On Street Dreams the guests were very good but the ones on here are a let down. Too much Pharell! Damn he annoys me. Also when is he gonna ditch Paul Cain man he does nuttin for ya and Black Ice who? Most rappers talk about girls, money and drugs. But he adds cars to the list of useless material in songs. I don't usually feel that the singles are the best on the album but with this album, Breathe is one of the standout tracks. Step it up man! 3/5 at max.

Since his "Ghetto Fabolous", all Fabolous is been doing is improving his lyrics! "Streat Dreams" hit the streets and he was a multi platinum rapper.

"Real Talk" is a great party/gangsta rap type album.

"Just trying to keep it real," Dave Hollister vows in the middle of Real Talk's title track. Though the former Blackstreet member's fourth solo album deals in a fair amount of clichés--the first few cuts seemingly break all records for use of the word "ghetto" as both noun and adjective--he does seem to be telling his own story. Much of the rest of the material is quiet-storm stuff of varying quality, though "Winning With You" has a, yes, winning chorus hook and "Karma" depicts our man as a two-timer convinced he'll get away with it. Hollister seems most impassioned, however, on the opening "Big Payback," where he goes off on at least one record-industry foe who apparently kept him from getting his own. Perhaps a little inside-baseball, but also an intriguing direction that's more real than those of many recent R&B discs. --Rickey Wright

This is a good album, I don't understand were people get off saying anything negative about this man and his music. Dave Hollister has been in the game a long time and has put out good music. Not one of his albums are poor. This particular album is filled with pain, joy, and soul! If you want to hear real music from the soul and not that played out "POPCORN" music this is the album for you. Track number two is a TONE setter! Pick this album up and listen to what real R&B music should be!

Nothing Real to talk about.......2005-10-11

While some of the previous bad reviews were on point, I think ones who gave it 4-5 stars were just trying to be nice to Dave. The songs never went anywhere nor did the CD have a smooth overall flow. The single "Real Talk" could have made some moves if it could have ever heard by anyone. Like most artists like Dave Hollister it will seldom if every make it off Internet Radio or a Midnight Radio show. Which by the way was the only place I ever seem to here the Dave Hollisters of the world. Buy this CD only if you want to complete D. Hollister collection.

Not sure why this is hated..........2005-05-28

I keep reading reviews putting down this CD, claiming it has no heart or no great tracks or lyrics. Did you guys miss "Good Ole Ghetto?" This is one of those tracks I keep on repeat in my car, crank the volume up really high so you can't tell how much my voice sucks, and just sing out loud. Didn't you hear the part about how everyone wore "Hammer Pants," but he couldn't afford them? Man I marked out at that point!

What about "Reason With Your Body" or "Doo Rag?" Did you miss "Bad When U Broke?" Any one of these songs should have been on the radio at least as much as some of the stuff that's out there now.

Personally I thought this CD easily rivaled any of Dave's others. I don't think any of them beat my favorite "Baby Do Those Things," but they're pretty damn close. Solid work from Dave Hollister again; I only wish others would believe me and give his music a try!

I've been a fan of Dave Hollister ever since his BLACKstreet days. Still, when it came to his solo albums, I never seemed to give him as much attention as I should have. I didn't hear Ghetto Hymns but I LOVE Chicago '85...The Movie. I never got around to picking up Things In the Game Done Changed but I got my hands on Real Talk. But unfortunately, for this album, there really isn't much to talk about.

People may look at my rating and think I'm crazy for giving Dave three stars. Well, if we were talking about his voice only, then that would be five stars easily, but this ALBUM is very disappointing. Not only are there really no standout singles, but the songwriting isn't all that good. The first four songs on the album are poorly told ghetto stories, and he has a habit to keep saying things like, "Let me know if you feel me." We heard you the first time, Dave.

One strange thing about this album is that most of the songs on here are written by Tank. Unfortunately, we all know the problem with Tank's albums, too: great voice, god-awful lyrics. Maybe Tank thought, Hey, the songs didn't work for ME, so maybe they'll work for someone else, right? WRONG. His contributions are sexually charged metaphors gone wrong, like "Case Is Closed". And "Reason With Your Body" has Dave saying things like: "Girl, I'll make you scream like a scary movie's on."

Dave should know that he doesn't have to be so ghetto, because that really didn't work for him in the past (ever hear "I Don't Want to Be a Hustler" off Chicago '85?). Maybe he was following the example that BLACKstreet used for the horrendous Level II. At any rate, while he still has a wonderful voice, Real Talk should only be purchased to complete your Dave Hollister collection.

I was first introduced to Lynch and Season of Da Siccness about seven years ago. I was totally blown away by the entire album. Every song was spot on. Absolute classics such as; Rest in Piss, Siccmade, Return of the Baby Killa, Welcome to Your Own Death, Liquor Sicc, Deep Down, and Locc 2 Da Brain. Then his work on Loaded and Nigga Deep, top notch.

As the years went by, he begins to put out albums such as Lynch by Inch. I liked it, but was still disappointed to say the least. Now ever since, then, he's been putting out the most generic flows and beats. Where did the siccmade ni**a go? I have no idea. Perhaps he's trying to reach the mainstream, but Lynch isn't a mainstream type of rapper.

So after those couple albums I'm still currently trying to block from my memory, I see "The New Season." I immediatley get the feeling, "hell yeah, Lynch is BACK!!" So I quickly go down to the shop, pick it up, and put it into my player as fast as possible. So as I sit here, listening to the album "The New Season," an overwhelming feeling has come over. A feeling of pure sickness, no not siccness, just sickness. LYNCH!!! Where did you go!?!? I'm on my knees here, Lynch, pleading for the OG siccmade Lynch to come back.

I'm from Seattle, but I moved to Atlanta a couple of years ago, and Im a huge lynch fan.. I played the album for a couple of my patnas down here that were strictly on ATL rap, and they asked me who the hell is spittin that fire on track 14 Shawty .. It's lynch and MC eight... Lynch is never going to stop spittin fire in the booth.. every track but one on this album is heat...

Super locced out.......2006-04-25

This has got to be the hardest album I've heard in a while. This CD is not for the Wankstas, or people that listen to CD's for beats or mention of bling. You have to be a true rida'. This takes me back to the day when OG's were real. Them Jayo Felony, Yucc Mouth, Nation Wide Rip Rida days. Keep it gangsta!!

Lynch a shadow of his former self.......2006-03-24

I had such high expectations for this album, maybe too high. The earlier Brotha Lynch from the 90's was classic underground; this is just so mainstream. It sounds just like every other rap album today. I still have faith in Lynch, but never again should he team up with MC Eiht, he's dragging the brotha into the toilet with him, we can't have that! Anyway, the only track on this entire album even worth a listen to, once or twice, is "Agent Double O Duece 4 Blocc", only becaues it's a remake of "Rest in Piss" Don't B wastin yo bank.

I gotta say after trigganometry and uthenizm i was wonderin if lynch had any hits left but my faith has been restored with The New Season. Lynch is comin wit a lil bit of a different flow and im feeln it, and the beats are crazy!!!! SiccMadeeee

Outlawz .......2006-03-18

The Outlawz are one of my favorite groups to come out from the Westcoast and even though most of them quit the group it is still great to hear music from the remaining members. All the songs are well produced and the lyrics are good as usual and just to hear new material from them is worth hearing. Also get the album that Young Noble did with Layzie Bone called "Thug Brothers". Buy this album it is worth the money you pay for it.

2/3 of the remaining Outlawz do a good job.......2006-03-15

Starting off as a 7 man group and now down to 3, Noble & Edi, 2/3 of the remaining Outlawz, (Kastro was left off this one - as he usually is on less songs then the rest anyway -- although he is my favorite) drop a tight album for you. Like the other 3 releases by Real Talk Ent. in the past 2 months, they get 2 known and established vets (Spice 1 & MC Eiht, Young Noble & Layzie Bone, MC Eiht & Brotha Lynch Hung) and have them drop a short but good album. Of the 10 songs on here, 1 is almost classic, 5 are good, 3 are ok, 1 I skip. Young Noble has 1 solo other then that it's all him and Edi. Production is handled by the Real Talk Producers, Big Hollis does 7 songs and Tron Treez does 3. A nice album for the Outlawz fans to have.

Respectable and Worth Coppin'.......2006-03-13

Against All Oddz, named after Pac's album, is a respectable and strong effort from Young Noble and E.D.I. The tracks here are well-produced and on par with their other works. The duo do what they do best and deliver the goods.

I agree with Constant's review of the track listings, but Outlaw Pride and Leave the Rest Behind stand out as my favorites off the album. "Make You Happy" is a beautiful love song, which is surprising considering the groups subject matter, showing their talent in all ranges.

The high production value is also evident with the original beats (besides Leave the Rest Behind, which is sampled off another original beat). Overall, it's a great effort in all aspects that will please fans and bump in the car likewise.

Outlawz Present Young Noble & E.D.I. - Against All Oddz.......2006-03-07

Young Noble & E.D.I. of the Outlawz deliver the goods on the fourteen-track duo album "Against All Oddz" (2006). After the laidback intro "Ride It Out", Young Noble & E.D.I. provide an anthem with the raw "Outlaw Pride", repping the Outlaw movement and being independent. The next track "Leave the Past Behind" is powerful, anyone that knows this group knows that they have been through a lot. On this cut Young Noble & E.D.I. reflect on how they came up and what they have been through in a track about moving on. The next cut "Clutchin On A 45" is fire, the Outlawz duo deliver some memorable lyrics while using turning their mentors lyrics into a dope chorus. "Pimpin In My Blood" flows through well, and then the Outlawz provide an outstanding track with "Make You Happy", a feel good love song with a lot of heart to it. My favourite track is the exceptional "Same Thang", backed by a tight beat Noble & E.D.I. shine on a track which I have on repeat. This upbeat cut is about coming out on top no matter what. The Outlaw duo then pays attention to the ladies on "Keep On Doing It" and "I Wanna Know". "All Family, No Friends" vibes well, as does the scarface sample used on the interlude "Big Time". The Outlawz talk about other rappers, and the rap game on the strong "Dont Change", a track about not forgetting ones roots. I can think of more then one rapper when listening to this one. Noble and E.D.I. close the album off with "We Outlawz" thanking their listeners, repping their movement and remembering all their friends and family that have passed. Young Noble & E.D.I. provide a release worth adding to the collection with "Against All Oddz", I personally think the Outlawz continue to get better on solo and as group with each new release and they are finally getting the production they deserve. I am looking forward to the next group album, for fans of the group this is definitely an album not to sleep on.
