If you haven't heard...CHECK THIS OUT!.......2005-06-09

This 2004 debut album needs to be heard! Mercilis is a true baller (check his resume if you don't already know). The album is nuts. Imagine a guy that is the CEO, rapper and producer on an indy label you haven't even heard of. Outside expectation would probably be minimal, which is why this joint will really surprise you! The production is tight, with the beats being very well-crafted. Though the lyrical content is probably much like what you have already heard (who's isn't anymore??!!) his delivery and rhyme styles are nice. The beats flow and bang in unison and really seem to have no barricades regionally. Mersilis would be labeled from the Southwest, but the music doesn't seem to be restriced to say, a dirrty-south genre. This music can pretty much ryde from coast to coast. With Mersilis having set up camp in several different locations over the last few years, there's no doubt that the various influences have helped him hone his skills as an MC. Nobody should ever make the mistake of comparing him to any athelete/rappers of today (and yesterday). Watch out! It is about time someone put out some hip-hop that is orginal and real. Saw his live show at the Super bowl and the he is even better on stage. I along with the music critics believe Mersilis will be moving to compete with the major players when his album drops. Mersilis shows his diversity and talent with his single debut Nazzty Girrl. Each song is completely different and not the same old version of the first. I look forward to hearing the complete album soon.
