Product Description
Charles and Romalice Burris are the duo better known as "Different Point of View." They seek to promote brotherly love through their style of positive, educational, uplifting and inspirational music with a hip hop flare. Their lyrics are free of profane, and disrespectful language. Instead they choose to use proper English, which emphasizes that education is the key to the future.

Just a awesome collection of music from one of the coolest most original acts to ever come along. Get this one its well worth ever cent.
A must Have.......2007-02-10
If you love Rob Zombie, this is a must have for your collection
Doesn't have his best songs..........2007-01-26
This CD has some of his greatest songs, but there are so many others that kill the songs on this CD.
Past, Present, and Future.......2007-01-19
Morbid, irreverant, funny. That's the style of Rob Zombie---and a great style it is. Past, Present, and Future gives an incredible scope to the music of the early White Zombie and the late, later, and latest (work) of Mr. Zombie, the man of dark seasons and gothic wit.

HIStory's 2 CDs (one hits, the other new) were Jackson's attempt to connect his glorious past to a dodgy present and--given it's commercial and artistic performance--cast a shadow on his future. Conceived as his formal coronation as the "King of Pop," HIStory's second disc instead presents Jackson as an epauletted, single-gloved Richard III. By turns paranoid, angry, bitter, sentimental, and, in one instance, possibly anti-Semitic, HIStory was less a collection of songs than a case history. A few tracks--mostly those produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis--are sleek, modern pop/soul, but too much of HIStory has the overblown vacuousness of a musician who knows his time is past, but is unsure as to how to react to the situation. --Steven Mirkin

Michael Jackson Lovers.......2007-06-27
If you're into M.K's latest and greates tunes, you will love this CD!! I listen to it a lot more then most of my cd that are collecting dust.
Not bad but...........2007-02-20
How many times people have to pay for Michael Jackson greatest hits album? Come on this should have been a single disc album. I already bought all of his old albums! Anyway I review the new songs there.
I liked They Don't Care About Us, Stranger In Moscow, Earth Song, You Are Not Alone, Come Together, and Little Susie. They are all excellent tracks and I enjoyed them greatly. Scream, This Time Around, History, 2 Bad, and Smile are all average songs acceptable as filler
D.S., Money, Childhood , and Tabloid Junkie are very much junk.
Please Michael we all know you need privacy and tabloids are not treating you right and you had a "bad" childhood. I am sick and tired of hearing these type of songs over and over which are similar to old ones. So please stop nagging and make unique music
Definitely Makes History.......2007-01-16
The title of the album is very appropriate. With the first CD giving us a blast from the past of amazing songs, and the second disk pulling us into the future. Many people have complained about the second disk, but I find that the songs on it are quite brilliant. The first song, Scream, is one of the most original songs of the nineties. It has a sound you won't find anywhere else, and the brother/sister duo mix their vocals extremely well. The second track, They Dont Really Care About Us, is so passionate and stimulating. You almost can't help turning up the volume. Stranger in Moscow is one of the most beautiful songs MJ's written, and its production is top notch. Earth Song is THE most beautiful song he's done, and it has a feel that gives you goosebumps. Overall, the album is one of the best I've heard. Some people critisize it for being too angry, but the anger gives the songs a passion and a depth that other artists lack. Its definitely worth the money for this deep and interesting work of art.
HIStory Is Great.......2006-12-27
The media has attacked this album since day one! Why? Well, the reason is that this album is viciously attacking the media! After they tried to destroy Mr. Jackson with the FAL$E 1993 Allegations. This is Michael's most heart-felt album & definitely one of my favorites. The album still sold 18 Million Copies (36 Million Disks) worldwide.
This album mixes anger for injustice, racial equality, saving the planet and love. It is a truly wonderful album & Mike expands his musical abilities by producing the whole album and playing most of the instruments on the album.

Past, Present, and Future in the past........2007-05-14
This was a great album when it came out and it still makes good listening today. I admit to being a bit biased on this because I listened to this one a lot in the seventies. This is the album that set the mold for many future Al Stewart albums with a collection of often historical story songs. It stands up pretty well.
Great second half.......2006-12-19
WHEN THIS WAS AN LP, NO ONE PLAYED THE FIRST SIDE.
Released in 1974, this is Al Stewart's fifth album, depending on how you are counting. It is 42 minutes long and the transition to CD is very good.
This album had two killer tracks, the 8 minute Roads To Moscow and the 9 minute Nostradamus. In between those 2 songs was the very good 3 minute Terminal Eyes, which reminds of the Beatles Come Together or I Am the Walrus, but not quite as wierd.
The first side of the album consisted of some boring, tedious songs. It seems like Al Stewart is at his worst when he sings about the Navy (just like Lord Granville on the Year of the Cat).
This was one of those LP's where you played only one side. You listened to the other once, and would never play it again. There were many like that in rock history, like Iron Butterfly's In-A-Godda-Da-Vida or Rare Earth's Get Ready.
"Roads to Moscow" is a masterpiece, but Bruce K. got it wrong!.......2006-09-12
It will be impossible for me to take any review Bruce Kendall writes seriously ever again after reading his review of Al Stewart's masterpiece, "Roads to Moscow" from his first purely historical album, "Past, Present and Future." In his review, Mr. Kendall tells us that the song is about a "soldier in Nepolean's army" who is "captured by Russian soldiers and sent to a prison camp in Siberia"...unbelievable. Did you even bother to listen to the record, Bruce? Clearly not. The album, with the exception of the last track, "Nostradamus" explores each decade of the twentieth century (up to it's writing in the early 1970's) from Al's unique historical perspective. "Roads to Moscow," in Al's own words, the heaviest researched song he has written with historical record taken from at least 50 books, takes place more than two hundred years after the Nepoleonic Wars! Were there Tiger tanks in Nepolean's day, Bruce? Probably not. The song documents not a soldier in Nepolean's army, but a Russian soldier who has fought on the Russian front in WWII for four years and finally experiences the dream of marching into Berlin as Hitler's army is at last defeated. Thinking he is going home now that the war is over, he is taken from his comrades and interrogated over his capture and release by the Nazi's years earlier. As he explains to the KGB that he got a "lucky break," he realized that they do not believe him as his train continues on and on, presumably to Siberia. I wonder if the Bolsheviks had Siberian prison camps in the first half of the 19th century...?
How can a guy get it so very wrong? One listen to this exceptional track clearly clues the listener into the time period and circumstance of the story. I cannot believe that you ever listened to this record Bruce, and if you did you should be ashamed of yourself for writing a review as wreckless as this. It is clear that you simply "made this up", perhaps after listening to the first 30 seconds of the song, or more likely, bought your information from some college term paper web site, the kind that cause their customers to flunk out of school. Sadly, people including myself have relied on your reviews to make buying decisions. This shows us that you are nothing but a fraud and should not be allowed to participate in this forum ever again.
An Overlooked Musical Gem.......2006-08-07
I first heard this album in 1974 and I've been a fan of Al Stewart's music ever since.
The best known tracks are "Roads To Moscow" and "Nostradamus" which both got some FM air play in the 70s and established Al Stewart's name among a small cult following before his 1976 album "Year Of The Cat" earned him a Top 10 spot.
Al Stewart is a great songwriter who always comes up with great lyrics. He also has a strong interest in historical subjects and that interest often finds its way into his songs.
"Nostradamus" is about the 16th French seer whose visions of the future have been the subject of countless books, articles and documentaries.
"Roads To Moscow" is about a nameless Russian soldier in WWII who is captured by the Germans, escapes, makes his way back to Russian lines and is treated as a spy and/or a traitor because he was captured and survived. The Soviet political commissars send him to a prison camp in Siberia. It's a great song; read your own interpretations into the story.
Bottom line: this album is a musical gem which never achieved the recognition it deserved. It deserves your attention; buy it.

Past, Present, & Future.......2005-08-18
The whole cd is great I remember when the group first came out
because I was around back then as a teenager and my friends and I use to hang with them before they became famous and they were just starting out. I am so proud of them because lisa was one of the first real hispanics to make it big in the cross over. Everything you here now is garbage back then music was real music
they sang about sex and everything but they did it in a way that was not nasty just well sexy.
A great blast from the past.......2004-02-17
This CD brings back memories of a different day in Hip Hop and R&B.... the music was fun, it made you want to sing along, to dance. The lyrics were about love (Lost in Emotion), relationships (All Cried Out), life (I Wonder If I Take You Home), and succeeding (Little Jackie Wants to Be A Star).
I can remember when "I Wonder If I Take You Home" was THE song. Everyone had it blasting on their car stereos, their boom boxes on the beach in summer, singing it down the hallways in school. You could say that about a lot of songs by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. Unfortunately, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam aren't making music anymore.
Trip down memory lane! I love this CD!.......2003-03-20
If you were a teenager in the '80's (like I was) then you will remember Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. And you will want to buy this CD! It has all the songs we Lisa Lisa fans love, like "I Wonder If I Take You Home", "Can You Feel the Beat, and even later classic cuts like "Let the Beat Hit Em'! I love this CD! It is like taking a pleasant trip down memory lane, and you don't want it to end. I highly recommend this CD!
queen of freestyle.......2002-01-24
lisa lisa paved the way for latinos in music in the 1980's.
This is her greatest hits which has the songs we love"can you feel th beat" and many others. These songs will live on forever and so will Lisa lisa, which made music history on the charts and for being a positive role model for latinos. We all want her back on the charts, hopefully she will be releasing new music soon. This cd begs you to want her back, its a very good cd and deserves to be in everyones latin freestyle or r&b collection.

Slum Village's sophomore album has as many bright moments as it does miscues. Designed to illustrate the group's rise from the Detroit underground, the album's spotty production takes too long to get you throbbing while the villagers manifest. Emcees T3 and Baatin's stepped-up flow is noteworthy, and newcomer Elzhi adds a rougher, battle-ready element to the mix, but at times his gangsta clichés don't mesh with his cohorts' green-tea-and-a-backrub Casanova personas. Though the overall production is uneven, young-Turk beatmakers Karieem Riggins and Waajeed O'Bryant shine on tracks like "La La" and "Tainted," which build on the momentum created by the group's debut, Fantastic, Vol. 2. Unfortunately, Trinity all but excludes founding member-producer Jay Dee, and in the end, Jay Dee's three contributions eclipse all others. We're left wondering what Trinity would have sounded like if all three original members were still in cahoots. As it stands, Trinity's overall vibe comes off like an often misguided attempt to inherit the kingdom A Tribe Called Quest helped build and De La sold. --Arno Kazarian

Garbage.......2005-11-30
Tainted the only song I listen to, and the only song I will listen 2, 27 tracks of bullsh..! dont get this
innovation........2005-03-18
slum is doing something most people are affraid to do: innovating. each track on this cd is a concept track, and if you put this album on in your headphones, it plays out seamlessly all the way to the end. the sound is an amazing testiment to the d. the beats are sick, as usual, and each track has its own feel. if youre a fan of real hip hop, dont listen to the reviews that say "tainted" is the only good track. this isnt a cd for the casual listener who is expecting to hear rap music when they put this hip hop masterpiece in their stereo. listen to elzhis verse in "disco" and tell me another mc that can spit such fire while naming his entire last album. t3 and baatin use their voices like sounds and ride the flow more uniquely than any mc out there. the album is truely refreshing. everyone who is sleeping on detroit needs to check the technique you heard about, cause sv will turn you out.
while im at it, check out everything else you can get your hands on by anyone associated with this group.
dweles "subject" lp is up there with any other classic, elite soul album, and if you can find his "rize" demo, that is definitely worth the purchase.
elzhi has a mixtape out called "witness my growth" that should tide you over until he drops his solo project, if that day ever comes. the mixtape has some of the best lyrical content ive heard.
watch out for nick speed too. i gotta shout out nix productions. this dude is coming up fast, and before you know it, youll be seeing his production credits in jewel cases all across the spectrum. hes got a marvin gaye sample called "well alright" that is just waiting to blow.
and of course, cop anything slum v. "dirty district" is a nice compilation of raw material featuring a bunch of underground mcs. and of course "fantastic vol 2" and "detroit deli", and their j-88 joint too.
Extreme Trash.......2004-08-08
You have no idea how pissed I am about this cd being as wack as it is. The rhyming is elementary, the lyrics are simple-minded, and judging from "Tainted", I thought I was going to get some unique, bob-ya-head music but this whole cd is a disgrace.
not much to say here.......2004-06-27
I bought this thinking these guys were innovative yet nothing on this cd stands out to me. tainted feat dwele is the best song on the cd , maybe that's why it was the first single. one thing I dislike about this is the skits, interludes , and for crying out loud 2 intros!!! why do you need two intros? there are about 4 good tracks out of 22 the rest are a bit bland if your looking for something new or different don't look here , I'm sure they'll do better next time or atleast I hope they will. not the second coming of tribe sorry.
Past meh!, Present meh!, The Future Doesn't Look Bright.......2004-05-18
Slum Village ~ Trinity (Past, Present, Future)
Detroit underground group Slum Village was producer Jay Dee's side project to his production and other efforts. On their second CD, Dilla has now left the group and it was just MC's Baatin & T3. One might think a group founded by a beatmaker who has worked with the likes of Common, ATCQ, and The Pharcyde would be as entertaining and ill on the mic as those kats. Sadly they aren't. Baatin & T3 both have skills ranging from bellow to average at times. Their topics are generally skirt chasing and other BS that wouldn't be so bad if the lyrics were strong. Without Jay Dee's production and no notable guest appearances I was even more sceptical of this release than I was their first. Luckily they did do one key thing to improve the group, they brought in the young hungry rapper, Elzhi. He has that distinct Detroit delivery at times and strong battle rap lyrics that the group desperately needed. So my emcee fears are actually put down a little, but still what about the beats? The production for the most part is handled by a group of relatively unknown producers (Curtis Cross, Karriem Riggins, Waajeed O'Bryant, and T3 himself) but Jay Dilla hasn't totally left them high and dry (he does 3 tracks) and DJ Hi-Tek and Scott Storch lend their hands (1 song each). All in all the production is polished, smooth and soulful but it feels underdeveloped. Although the guests aren't as star studded as Fantastic, DJ Dez's cuts are complimentary to the production where featured and Dwele's vocals are a nice touch as well. The album also has the makings of an interesting concept labelling the songs: past, present and future. Although it's an interesting idea it isn't fully realized because there doesn't seem to be a pattern in the labeling. Now I'll discuss the meat and potatoes or lack there of...
Insane ~ After two intros "Insane" gets things started with Baatin & Elzhi sharing the mic. I was expecting a really energized track with the title being insane and it being the opening track. Unfortunately the beat done by Waajeed O'Bryant is a fairly repetitive muted horn sounding synth that doesn't veer too much from the same path. It does build a head nodding vibe but not much else. Baatin kinda puts me to sleep on this track with his slow flow and whiny delivery. Elzhi comes and steals the show with his second rapid verse.
Tainted ft/ Dwele ~ All three MC's drop verses on this one. To me Elzhi doesn't actually steal the show totally here. Him & T3 drop relationship type verses, which are both decent. T3 talks about how he is better than most dudes in the love department who's love isn't real. Elzhi in a real short spit talks about his views on relationships. Baatin is the glue in this joint. His middle verse between them converses about the fake love in the industry. Dwele's sultry voice lays down the chorus which is really captivating combined with the beat. For the beat itself Karriem Riggins really comes through. He uses hollow sounding percussion, flowing soft organ, and deep loving bass. The vocals and production work together to create a kool, smooth and classic feel.
Disco ~ `Disco" was a good choice for a single, but the remix with Timbaland doesn't really work. This LP version is produced by T3 and has a mindless appeal to it. Utilizing funky keys and bass but it ultimately comes off kinda weak. It's a club oriented track that doesn't just want you dancing in the club but in the barber shops too. It's fun, but really a cheap thrill. Unfortunately it lacks any substance and falls flat.
One ~ A lot of songs other than the singles "Tainted" and "Disco" have a heavy filler vibe to them. They often sound appealing, they just don't have that extra element that separates average from good. "One" is a song that doesn't seem to be geared as a single but it doesn't seem to be filler either. It is purposefully crafted as solid piece of work. Jay Dee shows up for the production on this joint. The problem is it really stands out and makes the other music look pedestrian. He lends almost a dark effect, with paranoid jazz keys, booming strings like a cello, choppy drums and rolling bass. There is also some good wordplay on behalf of SV using the theme of "one" consistently throughout the song.
Trinity (Interlude) ~ Right in here you get the bulk of quality on the album ending here. This cut has the three kats basically telling everyone where they have come from to the place they are at. Curtis Cross does his thing on the boards to make a hard bass driven beat with nice synthesizers and nice turntable work from DJ Dez (nothing outstanding mind you).
This is a pretty bad album there just isn't enough here to justify 23 tacks. They could do some things to make a better release as a whole in my opinion. Firstly let Elzhi do most of the rapping, T3 is pretty average and undistinguishable, Baatin has ok flow and his own delivery. Baatin has left the group now so I don't think we'll be hearing much from him. They should add a full producer to the group, T3 does an alright job on his songs so he should possibly handle a couple of joints on the next one. The producers they used were alright but Karriem Riggins is really the only one that sticks out. I liked the rest of his work with SV & Common as well. Get better Dj's on your ish, Dez is ok but nothing to write home about in my humble opinion. Get more guests on your albums for variety. I think if they don't make serious moves they will fade away. 2 stars, buy it if you like it after a listen. Peace, love & soul...

Excellent compilation for an excellent rocker.......2003-09-24
[THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE EXPLICIT LYRICS VERSION.]
For the last few years, most hard rock artists have been going downhill at a surprisingly fast rate (just look at the once-great Metallica to see what I mean.) Though most artists have been on this downward spiral, there is one artist whose style of hard rock is so excellent, it shows no signs of diminishing any time soon.
That artist is Rob Zombie.
On September 23, 2003, a Rob Zombie hits compilation was finally released! I've been a fan of his, but never got around to shelling out the cash for all of his albums, so you can imagine how pleasing discovering this compilation must have been to me. Read on for my review of Rob Zombie - Past, Present And Future.
PROS:
-On your local hard rock station, chances are you've heard some Rob Zombie songs. Just about any song of his you've heard on the radio can be found in this compilation. Among them are Dragula, Superbeast, and Living Dead Girl.
-A number of underrated masterpieces are also available in this compilation
-There are unreleased tracks here, which will make die-hard fans and casual fans alike want to purchase the compilation.
-This is a career retrospective, meaning it covers White Zombie material as well as Rob's solo stuff.
-Many of the songs feature guest appearances by some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop.
-The DVD is a nice bonus (it features music videos.)
CONS:
-The only real complaint I have with this compilation is the omission of two songs. Those are Scum Of The Earth from the Mission: Impossible 2 soundtrack, and Rob's collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Head, from the Scorpion King soundtrack.
OVERALL:
Despite a few omissions, Past Present And Future is an excellent retrospect of Rob's career, and if you're a fan of his, I strongly recommend it. If you're a casual fan, get it for all the big hits. If you're a die-hard fan, get it for the unreleased stuff. Whatever category you fall into, it's doubtful this package will disappoint you.

Absolutely brillant! David takes our hand and walks us through a musical journey of where house music started, went and is heading with class, style and intelligence. This cd is so well packaged and flawless in its track selection. David, thank you for sharing your musical knowledge of what house music is all about with the buying public. God bless you and may God continue to uplift and heal the world through your work.
