About the Artist
E.W.L.P acknowledged their calling from God in 1999 to bring forth the Gospel through Hip Hop Music. The group is anchored by LaVelle Powell, Eric and Bryan Wilson. The three create an energetic line-up of an uncle and two nephews. Together they realize that using their remarkable vocal, writing and musical gifts to serve the Lord not only gives them unspeakable joy, but serves as an avenue to minister to the masses about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
LaVelle, Eric and Bryan combined their skills to produce their freshman CD entitled For Him Not Me. Christians in the Closet, I Enjoy the Pain, and The Resurrection are three of the message-filled songs featured on the project. After gaining a local following, the trio was able to successfully launch their mission of winning lost souls for Christ.
The release of E.W.L.P’s sophomore CD, Tormentors of Evil, has created a substantial buzz in the industry for its cutting edge approach in dealing with the constant day to day struggles of Christian life. Their honest approach with the hit track Why This Temptation, expresses the feeling of many that strive to be good Christians.
